experience something yesterday that i have never experienced in all the years that i've been on this planet and it's something that i'm sure many of you have experienced numerous times i got to experience what it was like to sit and wait at a restaurant for a date to show up you know the uncomfortableness of and this is for those that do you know uh updating meeting somebody for the first time waiting at a restaurant and you're sitting at the table waiting for them to show up and the waiter comes by the table this guy in case i think his name is brad comes by the table like three or four times, filling up your waters because you're drinking that much water because you're sitting there nervous. I experienced that yesterday. The candidate, she got stuck in traffic. There was a horrible accident that was on the freeway. And so she got stuck. And so it was kind of running a little bit late. So I'm sitting there at the table. First off, I'm starving. And I wanted to ask this question first and foremost of those that do date, online date. And I know Ellen and Megan, you guys online date, Shannon, you've said you've never online dated. When you're waiting at the table, are you sitting there looking on your phone? Are you playing with your hair? Are you writing stuff down? What do you do to not look awkward? Because the entire time, the entire restaurant is looking at me like this guy is getting stood up. Because I was there for well over 30 plus minutes waiting for her to come.

00:03:43 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 3:

I have a field proof method You show up 20 minutes late to everything The other person's already waiting Make them be the person that's awkwardly uncomfortable I'm late to every date on purpose Specifically so I don't sit at a table alone

00:03:59 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 5:

Okay, so that's a great thing You should have told me that before I went

00:04:05 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 3:

Also set expectations If we really start to date Three months in And I will never be on, I will always be 10 minutes late. Know that from the get-go.

00:04:14 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

So the waiter kept coming back numerous times. And then finally, I just said, I got to tell this guy. Because first and foremost, I got to tell this guy, A, I'm not waiting for a date. Because I felt really, really awkward. And B, when this person should walk in, it's going to be a younger 20-something-year-old girl walking in, sitting down with me. And this guy's going to instantly think, dude, what are you doing? You know what I mean? Like this guy, this guy, yeah, this guy is, you know, he's sugar daddy right here. Okay. So I said to him, I go, let me explain something really quickly to you. And he goes, yeah, what's going on? And I go, I'm not waiting for a date. And he goes, oh, no, don't worry about it, man. Don't worry about it. We're good.

00:05:00 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 1:

with that don't worry about it i go no no no no i swear to god i'm not waiting for a date um i'm you know interviewing somebody for a potential job and i want to meet with them today because i can meet with them you know it's the weekends and stuff like that and i'm like oh way over sharing with this guy right and he was really cool and then he went on to tell me that they have a policy at this restaurant and he said a lot of restaurants will do this that if you are somebody that is going to a restaurant and you get stood up on a date that the policy is that unless you you know if you order like the most expensive thing on the menu they're probably not gonna do this they'll pay for your meal and they'll pay for everything for you because they know you're already embarrassed enough yeah that's so nice isn't that cool and that was at Deer Lake Inn in Clarkson so don't go there and fake that you know you're getting stood up on a date because you want to eat but 844 Mojo Live 844-665-6548 I got a couple of questions with this because then i got into it talking to him and then she finally showed up and we talked to him about this whole thing even the the topic this morning what's the longest that you will wait for a date to show up like what's the longest that you will stay there that's one question that i have to ask my second question is did the restaurant do anything for you or did you work at a restaurant where somebody got stood up on a date and i want to know if they if they helped you out at all 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 is the telephone number.

00:06:26 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 4:

I would feel so bad if I were watching somebody like you in this situation thinking that they got stood up for a date. I would want to invite them over to my table or something just to save them because the embarrassment has to be so bad.

00:06:41 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 1:

If you've ever been in this place, I'm in their first booth. It's right by the door. I have my back to everybody in the restaurant. I turn around at one point to look and I could see the high top tables were full of people and I could see people pointing.

00:06:58 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 4:

Everybody's talking about you.

00:07:02 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 1:

And then as people are walking by to go to the bathroom, they're walking by to go to the bathroom to look at me and they're like, like, you know how you go in church and you walk back from communion and you're very solemn and you're kind of like, and you look at the floor. Yeah, you're kind of like, that's what people were like when they were walking by me. And then when she walked in, then they started walking by me looking like, you creepy son of a bitch. Vivian, what's going on?

00:07:27 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 2:

Hi, how are you guys?

00:07:29 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

We're good. What's the longest that you would wait, Vivian?

00:07:32 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 2:

I have waited for a date. I actually got set up on this date down at St. Louis Point. I was waiting for two and a half hours. Oh, my God.

00:07:40 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 4:

Now, was your date texting you? like hey I'm running late I'm almost there or you just didn't hear

00:07:47 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 2:

I texted him something I was like hey I don't want to do anything I'm not comfortable with and he blocked me after that the same day we went on the date

00:07:54 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

what a dick that's awful

00:07:56 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 4:

well you saved yourself there you dodged a bullet

00:07:59 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 1:

thank god Nina what's happening it's Mojo in the morning

00:08:03 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 2:

yeah so I actually work at a restaurant and we had a couple sitting at the table having a date and the guy ended up getting up and going to the bathroom and finding one of the servers and is like, hey, I just want to pay for, you know, all the drinks we've had right now, but I'm leaving. And we're like, what? So he did. He paid for all this stuff, and then he just, instead of going to the bathroom, he left.

00:08:28 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 1:

So the guy wasn't not showing up to the date. The guy was trying to ditch the date.

00:08:33 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, he left her sitting there, and after, like, 20 minutes, we were just like, can we get you anything else? She's like, he lasted at hand. We're like, no.

00:08:41 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh. That guy. Oh, these guys are horrible.

00:08:45 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 3:

You're a dick. By the way, I- We wanted to go out the back door, and we were like, no, you have to go out the front door. Oh, my gosh.

00:08:51 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 1:

I asked the waiters and waitresses there, because they all came over and started talking to me about this whole thing, and they said that it's more guys at their restaurant that get stood up. That get stood up? Yeah. So, this is interesting. We hear these two horrible stories about these guys. Robin, what's happening? You also work at a restaurant? Hey.

00:09:08 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

Well, I used to. So back in the day, I was a manager at a restaurant. It was clear that one of the tables, one of the high-top tables in the bar, it was clear that it was a guy breaking up with a girl. And she was crying. He was, like, nonchalantly eating his flipping chicken wing. And so I brought, like, a floofy drink, like a strawberry daiquiri, over to her and said, hey, there's a gentleman in the bar that wanted to buy this for you. And the guy was like, what? And she didn't really react much. And then I brought a second drink. At the end of the day, she had five drinks in front of her that I told her had come from.

00:09:41 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 4:

Oh, Robin, you are the best.

00:09:43 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 1:

You are. That's amazing. You are an angel. So the guy's breaking up with her and still eating his chicken wings, that douche.

00:09:51 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

At the beginning, at the end, he was mortified and beating his fist, wanting to know who these guys were. I love it. They all wanted to remain anonymous.

00:09:58 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 4:

That's so good. That's awesome. Thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Ryan, what's up?

00:10:04 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 1:

Good morning, Mojo. How are you?

00:10:05 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 4:

Good, man. What's going on?

00:10:07 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 1:

Good. So I went on this first date, and she didn't show up. I waited, waited, and called her. No answer. After I talked to her, and she said, I'm on my way. Well, I have a good friend of mine who works for a police agency here in Michigan, and went over to her house, knocked on her door to see if everything was okay. And when she answered, he told her she's missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime and such a great guy for not showing up.

00:10:33 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. You did a welfare check. I was concerned. Oh, that's so good. What was her reaction?

00:10:43 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 1:

She was like deer caught in the headlights.

00:10:46 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I bet. That's crazy. It's nice to have friends in interesting places like that. Oh, absolutely.

00:10:53 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 5:
