All right, Mojo in the morning. All right, I got some bad news, and this is not great, but I need some help from some listeners on this one. Remember when I fell and I posted the picture of my bruises and stuff? But the good news is my bruises are way less. That's good. I've been doing this laser thing with Dr. Marvin, who's been amazing. Dr. Marvin from Body Pain. I don't know what the heck it's called. It's in West Bloomfield, Dr. Marvin.

00:02:30 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 6:

You've got to shout him out now. Get it right.

00:02:32 - 00:02:34 | Speaker 5:

Should I get it right? Yes. Hold on a second. Let me look and see.

00:02:34 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 6:

Because you have been raving about how much this helped. So while you're looking for that, I have noticed you, and if you watch the live on Facebook, you've noticed Mojo hanging onto your left shoulder throughout the entire show.

00:02:48 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 5:

So Dr. Marvin's Michigan Spine and Pain on Maple Road in West Bloomfield. he uh he he's a friend of ryan lashes so thank you to him my shoulder's not good so i uh have an appointment today with michigan uh orthopedic surgeons and uh i went and visited some doctors after taking an mri and um i have i wrote it down in my phone here actually i had the doctor speak it i have a full thickness tear of my subscapularis tendon 75 percent of my tendon is torn and retracted 75 percent i i actually when i fell down the stairs and i was so just concerned about sliding down the stairs i dislocated my shoulder but it popped back into place i guess when i got back up isn't that crazy but it uh caused a for a uh for a uh a tear so with this said they want me to have surgery oh my god they told me that this listen to this and you tell me if i'm effed i uh have to have surgery i'd have to take four days off probably for the uh post-op after the surgery i will be in a sling for four to six weeks oh i will not be able to drive during the four to six weeks because legally you cannot drive with one arm which i don't understand that because if you're an amputated human being how can you drive with one arm to get that thing on your wheel right i don't know the adaptive like handle i so i cannot drive so i this is that that will be crazy i will have no activity i won't be able to golf or do anything for six months minimum. So the whole summer's out. The whole summer. My summer's screwed.

00:04:32 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 6:

And that's like your happiness during the summer.

00:04:34 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

First off, there's only three months of summer in this place, right? We don't get much good weather here, so you get 90 days pretty much of that. And that's all I'd like to do in the summertime is, you know, golf. And then the other thing that sucks about the whole deal is, that's been my fear. My fear is gaining weight. I've been really trying to be active. My fear is all of a sudden this is another obstacle in my trying to lose weight.

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 2:

active although you could still walk but my walking was golfing like I was

00:05:05 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 3:

walking 18 holes can you put off the surgery till the end of summer so at least you get some a few months of golfing I'm gonna see a doc today but

00:05:14 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 2:

according according to one of the docs that I saw they said that they the earlier they get to this the better because of you know everything is in you know still attached but then I also but well but then I don't think I you know It would hurt. I can't do anything for four weeks minimum, no matter what.

00:05:32 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 3:

No, I'm saying like right now, even if you said, okay, I'm going to push the surgery back to August, which you can't do, which you just explained. But could you golf or are you in that much pain that you couldn't do it?

00:05:40 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

There is a possibility, and some people have told me this, including the doctor, but he didn't recommend it, that I could just put this off completely and just say, I'll do physical therapy. But then you have a risk of you lose motion. Like lifting my arm, I have to do it really slowly like this. That might be my every day. If I have, like where I have to, but then, then again, it's my non-dominant arm. It's my left. So don't ask me to raise my hands up in the air and wave them like I just don't care.

00:06:08 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 4:

And you're trying to do this naturally, right?

00:06:11 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 2:

I would like to.

00:06:13 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 4:

Can I recommend a product?

00:06:14 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:06:15 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 4:

Have you, I know Calvin Johnson brought him into us. Have you used his primitive performance cream? It's like a icy hot that has CBD in it.

00:06:23 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 3:

Amazing.

00:06:24 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 4:

Listen, not sponsored. 10 out of 10 would recommend that product. I use it on every bump, bruise, soreness, pulled muscle, every, that stuff. Chef's kiss. Amazing. And I would put it on for now and see if it gives you more range of motion.

00:06:40 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 2:

I honestly would like to do everything I can do if I could without having to do surgery. Because I just don't like going, I don't want to go under the knife.

00:06:47 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:06:48 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 2:

And where this is not cancer, it's not heart, you know, issues. I had heart issues. I would never wait on something like that. I just sit there and I think to myself, I'm like, this is like one summer out of my life. This is morbid to think this. What if I die next year? This is my last summer. No, I'm being serious. I got six months in a freaking sling. So my fear is, so this is kind of my thing. I don't know. Is there any listeners that have put off surgery and miraculously were healed? Or are there any listeners of ours that have put off surgery and now they can't even move their arm? You wish I would have just done it. Like, my fear is, my fear, they give me the worst case scenario. So what's the worst case scenario if I put this off? Worst case scenario is it does a full tear off and then I have to have a fake shoulder or whatever it is.

00:07:39 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 4:

Like a full replacement.

00:07:40 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 2:

Like a full replacement in my shoulder.

00:07:41 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 4:

That's even worse. Because then you have to get that redone. You have to replace those once you start getting them.

00:07:48 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 2:

Do you know what the doc told me, though? Which is interesting because he's, the one doc I went and saw is the NFL doc was the Lions, now is the Bears doc. he told me that this is the Deshaun Watson thing. So I got that in common with him, which is probably the only thing I want in common with Deshaun Watson. Having to make it count. No, not a bad, I don't know.

00:08:07 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 4:

I think you should take the temporary loss, man, for the long term win. I agree. You're going to have 30 more surgeries? I agree. You should enjoy

00:08:15 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 3:

all 30 summers you have ahead of you. Have you told my husband that you're not going to be able to golf? I'm not. He is so looking forward to

00:08:22 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 2:

do you know how depressed summer can i tell you the most depressing thing was when i got the phone call from uh uh dr bicos over at uh michigan orthopedic he called me on saturday to tell me the mri i literally sat in the car depressed like i i sat there i've not been i i don't think i've been that depressed since the day that my dad died like as weird as it sounds yeah i was really depressed it was it was tough and then i kind of slowly kind of came out of it when i talked to some other people that said hey there's other options you know stem cells was one of the things that people were talking about but um jordan what's up it's mojo in the morning what's going on give me some good news jordan what do you got for me besides take the loss like

00:09:03 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 1:

these guys are telling me hey mojo i'm here to pick you up man can you hear me okay i got you what's going on hey so i'm a physical therapist here at corwell health oh and uh we i know dr beat those pretty well him and i are pretty pretty much buddies so yeah you know with this type of surgery you should pretty you should feel encouraged i mean it depends on what you want to do but i i feel like a lot of times people get better results when they have therapy before and it just kind of you know makes the results even after surgery better have you ever seen anybody not do surgery at all oh yeah yeah we we have patients i have one right now that's choosing not to do it you know i'm about to go in and take care of him right now but is it a good choice or a bad choice what do you think i think if you're someone who's retired and and doesn't really want to do much and and just in general you're doing some light yard work i think it's fine but if you want to golf and You know, you're young. I think you want to be able to do the most. And, you know, you look at it like a suspension bridge. If you have 75% of that bridge gone, you really want to drive. Oh, you son of a bitch. Yeah. You know it's good when he says something about potential, you know.

00:10:19 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 2:

What if I'm a bad golfer?

00:10:21 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

It's all about your potential.

00:10:22 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 2:

What if I'm like a 23 handicap?

00:10:25 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 1:

Is it your right shoulder or your left shoulder?

00:10:27 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 2:

It's my left shoulder.

00:10:27 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 1:

okay so that's your dominant shoulder when you're golf assuming that you golf right-handed yeah no i know it's making sense jordan yeah i work with golfers too i'm i do golf therapy and i think i think it's important just in general but like i said you know you can kind of do a little bit of prehab as they say and and it goes a lot better i mean if you're not in dire need and you really want to golf i mean like they said you might lose the motion but if you work at it hard enough, you'll get it back. It's all relative.

00:11:02 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 2:

All right. Well, thank you for the kind words and I appreciate you, man. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Somebody tell me what I want to hear.

00:11:11 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 3:

What do you want to hear?

00:11:13 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 2:

I want to hear that the Lord's going to come and lay his hands on me

00:11:18 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 3:

and heal me. This might be a blessing, though. You might have got hit by a car and killed on your way to the golf course. You never know. This could actually save your life.

00:11:26 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh, great.

00:11:26 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 3:

Good point. You're saying, don't look at it a different way. I think that way all the time, Kev.

00:11:29 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 2:

But Chelsea would look at that as she can collect insurance. What's going on, Chris? Hi, Chris.

00:11:36 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God, I'm through?

00:11:38 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 2:

Yes.

00:11:40 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Okay, three things.

00:11:43 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:11:44 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 4:

Number one, first time forever listener. Yes, Chris on the phone. I love you all like you are my family. we love you too um okay second thing my husband did this injury on his shoulder last year and he said i'm going to do physical therapy i'm just going to wait and he literally has no range of motion and he's in his 40s and i've been telling him because i'm a nurse you need to listen to the doctors you need to get this surgery oh well i think if i just do this or if i just don't use it now his arm is hanging down like a little chicken oh my god oh lordy yeah oh so mojo you're you are too young you are too young if you have that percentage of a tear i know a lot of people don't want to do surgery because it's scary and you know it will take you away but if you wait till next summer you might not even be able to move your arm up He can't even move his arm up to waist length.

00:12:55 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 2:

He can't. Oh, man.

00:12:56 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 4:

This is the call that you didn't want to get, but you need to hear.

00:12:58 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 2:

So what is he going to do now?

00:13:02 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 4:

Well, you know, every day I say, are you going to call the doctor? And he said, oh, I will when I'm not busy, when I'm not on a meeting call. That's the problem, too.

00:13:14 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 2:

That's the problem, too, Chris, is that you got all the stuff. How do I get away from this? You know what I mean?

00:13:20 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 3:

You've got to take care of yourself, bro.

00:13:22 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Get this. You've got to worry about your life.

00:13:25 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 4:

You're going to lose. Hanging like a chicken. All he can do is flush it totally.

00:13:30 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 3:

He can't raise his hand higher.

00:13:31 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 2:

He can't even raise his hand higher.

00:13:32 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 4:

He can't. He can't. And I sit across the table from him and I look at it and it is atrophying. I'm not kidding you.

00:13:38 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 2:

That's what they told me about. They were talking to me about that. Oh, geez. That's not what I wanted to hear. Kirstie, give me something I want to hear. What's going on? Hi.

00:13:49 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 5:

First time long?

00:13:50 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 2:

what's going on mojo don't do it no okay tell me i'm not now i'm interested why

00:14:01 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 5:

because i had shoulder problems since i was in the fifth grade and uh i dislocated my shoulder um in the fifth grade and i always had shoulder problems and i had dislocated it the last time and in the freshman year and I had surgery and never been the same. Never been the same. In what way? I have arthritis. I have arthritis now. I'm like 36. You think that might be genetic?

00:14:33 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 2:

Well, also, could it be from all the injuries you've had on it?

00:14:37 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. Like, and I have to go down, like I have to get like my shoulder popped and like get cortisone shots in it. Every like, yeah. My problem.

00:14:47 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 2:

Here's also another problem that I face. So I put my knee off for many years. Like when I was in high school playing football and wrestling, I didn't do my knee for the longest time, and eventually I did have.

00:15:00 - 00:16:22 | Speaker 7:

have to have a 40-year-old knee replacement like that's how bad it was because of the arthritis so you saying that makes me even more interested in possibly wanting to get it taken care of now only because i kept putting my you know my dad was a doctor and my dad was like your knee's okay tape it up like back in the you know back in my day yeah but that was but but i but the arthritis was so bad and i don't ever want to go back to that pain of the arthritis but i don't know i i haven't made my decision up i swear to you i do want to do the right thing for me but i also will tell you this that um i'm not smarter than these doctors i know that for a fact but i also feel like sometimes docs just want to cut you open you know what i mean like they're like yeah let's cut it let's go let's get you know what i mean like they they get they gotta pay their they gotta pay their student loans there's also a huge risk right uh i know i i i just want to all i want is you know i've not had a drink since that day no i literally i think i may never drink again i that is literally that day was the worst moment ever i mean you're really hurt and i and i is it more embarrassment or is it because of the pain that it was no no it's not the pain the pain sucks and that sucks it's the thought of what the this injury is going to make my next you know months be

00:16:22 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 6:

like yeah think about the rest of your life don't think about the next few months but uh but uh you

00:16:26 - 00:17:14 | Speaker 7:

know also it was preventable all i had to have is something to eat and one less drink and i would have been fine here not over it's kind of like people that get in you know this is honestly has made me think about everything like people who drink and get behind the wheel of a cart like their life will never be the same after that you know what i mean so i don't know hey i know it's not cancer that I'm blessed with that I know it's not cancer and I know my I got my heart checked out the other day they said my heart's great so that's that's good and this is something that's minor there's people that have worse issues going on in their lives right now they can't pay their bills but I just uh it's it's sucks you know so it's so cross bro you don't gotta minimize it this is yours all right that's not what I wanted to hear I wish I was I was gonna I was hoping and somebody would go, I got the right thing for you.

00:17:14 - 00:17:44 | Speaker 5:

You don't want that. Here's the magic wand. We're going to do this. The first season of the X Games League is ending in New Orleans, and only one team walks away champion.
