This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:01:07 - 00:01:52 | Speaker 4:

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees. for me to be able to be accepted through FAFSA and to have Bishop State pay for all of my tuition. Not only that, but the curriculums, you know, they make it so easy to understand on their website. Like I said, I'm a 40-year-old man, so I don't use technology too much, but it was very understandable where I needed to go. It was extremely fast. These past two years, things have just moved in a total different type of way. It's like its own moving entity to see things manifest the way that they do.

All right, it's Mojo in the morning show. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. You ever get too much sleep? I think I got too much sleep last night. I hate you. I don't know.

00:02:09 - 00:02:12 | Speaker 3:

I haven't gotten too much sleep in about 11 years.

00:02:13 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 7:

I fell asleep early and I got a little bit too much sleep. But all right, I want to bring something up right now. And I want you guys to tell me if you think I'm a narc for what I did. So I got tipped off by Luke, my son, who tipped me off that my 12-year-old nephew was on social media and doing some things that he probably shouldn't have been doing, like liking some things that he shouldn't have been liking. And I got screenshots of this, which is actually kind of funny. So it shows that there are screenshots of him liking a bunch of things that are like sexual in nature. Like sex is a sensation caused by temptation. a guy sticks his location in a girl's destination that was one of the things that he liked and then another one here that said the F-bomb F-ing is an F-ing word that can F-ing be put any F-ing where an F-ing sentence wants to F like these are things that he's putting up on social media a boy and a girl had sex oh he's in girl right there is ever met me as hot uh or ever met somebody as hot as me in bed this kid's 12 years old by the way okay so luke shows me this and goes hey this is kind of crazy look what i got to show you and it's his cousin that's doing this thing so luke leaves the room goes off and does this thing and i'm there going i gotta call his mom you know what i mean like if that was my kid i would want to know wouldn't you want to know if that was your kid like that

00:03:48 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 3:

100%.

00:03:49 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 7:

So if this was your kid and I called you and said, hey. I just want to give you a heads up. Yeah.

00:03:54 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 3:

Absolutely. I'd be so appreciative.

00:03:55 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 7:

Yes. Well, that's what I did. Good. I'm a narc.

00:03:59 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 3:

You're not a narc.

00:04:00 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. No.

00:04:01 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 3:

You're a responsible uncle.

00:04:02 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 7:

See, I thought for sure Kevin would call me out saying, let the kid be a kid.

00:04:05 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 5:

No, 12 years old, I think you need to have that conversation. Josiah's 12. If Josiah was on there doing that. If the same situation like this, I would want to know.

00:04:12 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 3:

And if he's open about liking and reposting those things, he's going down the rabbit hole on social media, which can be really super dangerous.

00:04:21 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

Did I do the right thing? 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. These guys all say so. Do you think I did? Is there anybody that thinks that what I did was wrong, that I shouldn't have minding my own business? I'm the uncool uncle. I'm the guy. I'm the DJ. They don't call me Uncle Mojo. They call me Uncle Tom, which, by the way, I don't like to be called an Uncle Tom. do you have the relationship where you could talk to him uh no not really because of uh i mean i do i mean i have a good relationship with him i thought luke should have called him like i thought like the cousin to call him up and do it luke wouldn't do it

00:05:00 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 1:

barely get Luke to do anything for me around. He's like, ah, nah, that's all right. Because Luke's playing video. You know what the funny thing is? So Luke works. He's got a summer internship thing. He's working and stuff like that. He comes home, and then he goes down to the basement and plays video games, and he's back to the age of swearing like crazy on video games. F you, you mother ever. This is Luke doing this. I should actually tape me standing at the top of the stairs. Do it. and you can hear him when he's talking to these guys and he's like going off on these guys and I'm like wait a second your 12 year old nephew my 12 year old nephew your 12 year old cousin's doing this stuff he's using words like this you're doing it over the headset of your video game Sasha what's up hi guys

00:05:48 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 5:

hey Sasha

00:05:51 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 1:

on the phone Sasha am I a narc no I

00:05:56 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

you did the the right thing you did a wonderful thing because we need to protect kids at all costs like especially with my generation and this coming generation it's just a lot of things that we're exposed to and who knows you never know he could have got exposed to something you don't know what his situation is he could have saw something read something or something could have happened between him and another kid yeah that's leading him to be like this and so questions have to be raised like if it was my daughter she's two now but if it was her we'd be yeah we'd be really having a we sit off social media having a conversation i think you know what my fear is

00:06:32 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 1:

that this kid's going to grow up and he's going to do something that's going to get himself into

00:06:37 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 2:

bigger trouble you know kate what's up hey um i do not think that you're a narc whatsoever the internet is such a scary place and they don't say that it takes a village for no reason like it is so important for parents to be looking out yeah it takes a village and you your eyes and ears can't be everywhere all the time so i think having that that help anywhere absolutely take it okay i'm

00:07:06 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 1:

wondering if there's anybody that thinks that i'm wrong on this one asia hi yes good morning guys

00:07:13 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 4:

You're definitely a narc. You are a narc. But I'd say good job because I want to know and I would definitely tell my brother or my sister, like, hey, they're doing too much.

00:07:26 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Let me ask you this question. Would it be bad? And this is a hypothetical. This did not happen. Would it be bad if a member of the show, Kevin, were to be posting things that would make the company not look good because he's posting stuff on some social media sites like, say, for instance, only fans commenting on things would it be bad if i told and narked on him to the bosses

00:07:49 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 5:

mind your business yeah i would let that one slide if they don't catch it i ain't see

00:07:58 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 1:

knowing mojo he won screenshot so he gotta pay for the content

00:08:03 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 6:

what's up pauline how you doing good morning mojo how are you i'm doing okay pauline say

00:08:12 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

hi to everybody else say hi to shannon and kevin colleen good morning good morning miss shannon how

00:08:18 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 6:

are you today i'm good good i was just calling mojo no you really should have called your sister in law or sister and told them and it's not being a narc because i would want to know and that's just like i have a six-year-old daughter and in school in the beginning of the year this little boy was trying to look up her skirt and all that.

00:08:43 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

It wasn't my nephew, was it?

00:08:46 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 6:

I was like, oh, my God, man, these little kids. These kids. You know, our social, the social stuff is just like, even with the gay pride, it's geared towards our kids so much that I think our kids are overloaded, and that's why there's so much autism in the world.

00:09:07 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 2:

Hold on a second

00:09:17 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

I think we Buckle up I think we kept you on a little bit too long Alright, thank you for the call Dear RMK Where did that go? And with the gay pride Alright I don't condone you I'm telling on you. What's going on, Brittany? Hi.

00:09:42 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

Hi. So when I was 16, I posted a picture on Snapchat of weed, like packed in a bowl, thinking I was cool. And my cousin saw it, screenshot it, and told my mom on me. And I'll never forget it. And I got in trouble. I got my phone taken away. So I think you are a narc, but for a good reason.

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Okay, so as a...

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 3:

Somebody that had actually been narked on, you actually are happy that they told on you.

00:10:05 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, because now I have kids, so I would 100% want to know, but at the time, I was pissed.

00:10:10 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 3:

Okay. All right, good. So now that makes me feel good. To hear from somebody that actually had this happen to them, I mean, I'm going to be quite honest with you. I want to know with my kids, and I would not say who I heard it from, and I hope that my sister doesn't do that. Like that's, you know, uh, that, that becomes my mom told me right away who told me, but

00:10:34 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 1:

she also screenshotted it so you could see it. And I didn't talk to her for a while. Yeah.

00:10:38 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 3:

And, and the, the problem is too, is this is my goddaughter's kid. So it's my sister's kid. Basically. That's like my, my little nephew. He's already 11. Kids 12. Yeah. Holy 12. Yeah. So you gotta be, uh, you gotta be careful. You got to, these kids grow up fast. Do the right thing, man. You did. Do the right thing.

00:10:58 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 4:

You got to snitch.

00:10:59 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 3:

Well, let me talk to you a little bit about that caller that just called in just a second ago. I've heard all I needed. That was a wild take. How much coffee have I had this morning and how much more alert was I when all of a sudden that one came on?

00:11:12 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 7:
