Modo in the morning. So my sister Pat, Aunt Pat as I refer to her on the show, had a big birthday last week. She celebrated her 60th birthday. and I felt so bad because I called her up and she lives in Chicago and I said Pat what are you doing for your birthday it's like nothing and I'm like you gotta you know people coming over like my sisters and you know my brother and stuff coming over and she was like no you know uh my niece is gonna come over and she's gonna you know visit and stuff and I go do you have a cake like you're gonna do a cake she didn't have a cake so I ended up having to door dash her a cake to her house Which is wild Because my sister Pat doesn't get the concept of DoorDash And while we're on the phone A DoorDash guy Brings an Oberweiss Ice cream cake Which Oberweiss is a big Chicago thing And we had some here in our area The ice cream place

00:03:31 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 1:

And the guy goes

00:03:33 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 3:

I'm looking for Tom Is this Tom's place And she's like no this isn't Tom's place He goes well I heard it's Pat's birthday Because I put a note on there and she was so floored by the whole thing. So then I decided I was going to go in for the day and spend the day with her. So I drove in on Saturday. Thank you, Megan. I love getting an aw. I'm going to pat myself on the back. I love Pat. Pat raised me. Pat and Tracy, they raised me. I lived with them when I was 16 years old. So I left my house at 5 a.m. on Saturday and drove in and was able to get to Chicago in less than four hours. Normally it takes like four to four hours and 20 minutes sometimes or four hours and 30 minutes. I had no traffic. If you're ever going to Chicago, drive like a trucker because they're the only ones on the road beside you. It was amazing what I was doing. So I was flying down there. I had no traffic and everything was good. I showed up at her house. She woke up in the morning and I said, Pat, I'm here. We're going to have some fun. So we did a whole bunch of stuff. We went out and had lunch and we had dinner and we just spent the whole day just hanging out. I slept on the couch, on Pat's couch. She fell asleep in her chair and it was the weirdest thing ever because it reminded me of when I lived with her. And we all, my sisters and I, would all be in the same little place because she lives in the same condos that we rented. when we were there isn't that weird the condo that i grew up in from like 16 until i moved to arizona when i was uh 20 years old was five places away from there it was so weird it feels like home when you go back oh it's unbelievable it's like you know it's yeah it's like you know i wanted to play that john melon or what's no john uh bon jovi song who says you can't go home i went home so pat was telling me a couple of things and i explored them a little bit and i realized that i am a stalker because i stalked my high school crush and here's how it happened pat told me that this girl that i went to school with and grew up with works at von mar have you ever been to a von mar we have a do we have a von mar here department store yeah it's a department store laurel park place i don't know but i feel like there used to be there's one at woodland mall So, Von Marr. So, Pat says that my high school crush works at the Von Marr.

00:05:59 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 4:

And to be clear, because these are weird times. You mean when you were in high school, right? No. You don't have somebody in high school now.

00:06:05 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 3:

No, she was. Yeah, no, yeah. When I was in high school, my crush. She now as an adult works at work. Gotcha. She works at Von Marr. Pat, by the way, is obsessed with Von Marr. Did you know that Von Marr doesn't charge interest on their credit cards? Because the only interest that they are in is you. Pat told me that. What's that?

00:06:22 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 1:

Can you just say Von Mar one more time?

00:06:23 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 3:

Von Mar.

00:06:24 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

Thank you.

00:06:24 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 3:

So, well, I know Von Mar well because I said, Pat, let's load it up. We're getting in the Tahoe and we're going over to the Orleans Square Mall. And we're going to go and visit this girl. Because I want to see what she looks like nowadays because she's not on Facebook. Yeah.

00:06:38 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 1:

Some real life stalking. This is so you.

00:06:41 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 3:

So, we went into Von Mar and walked the entire department store to try to find this girl.

00:06:48 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 1:

No, you didn't.

00:06:48 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 3:

Absolutely.

00:06:49 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 1:

Did you find her?

00:06:51 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

We couldn't find her. She wasn't working. I finally asked somebody because I didn't want to ask somebody and then have them at because I didn't want her to know I was there specifically. I wanted it to be like, as we like to say, organic. And I wanted it to be like we ran into each other. Oh, my God. Look at you. I haven't seen you in a while. You look so good. What's that? What the whole deal is? So and by the way, I want here's what I want to want for calls on this. I want you to call up and tell us how you stalked a crush because I felt like the person I felt like the person that has a crush on somebody in retail and just goes there just to try to look for them. Now, I don't know what she looks like, but Pat said that she looks good. She actually doesn't look bad at all. She's actually cute like she was when we were growing up in grade school and high school. So we're walking around this door, and I'm like, no, that doesn't look like her. No, that doesn't look like her. and I'm like sitting there and I'm like sneaking behind like clothing racks and I'm trying to look at name tags and I'm trying to figure this whole thing out. I felt like I was so creepy doing this. But with my sister, Pat, it was so funny. And you know, Pat's handicapped so she has to get around with a cane and a walker and stuff. So it's tough because I'm like walking around with her and I'm like, Pat, hurry up, we gotta go. And I'm realizing she can't go. I'm going fast, Tom. I'm trying, you know.

00:08:08 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 2:

Why did you not videotapes? Oh my God, it would have been the funniest thing ever.

00:08:12 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

But I was telling I was telling Pat about, you know, this in how I've known people before that will park their car like in certain places so that they can bump into their crush like organically again. Like the word that we don't use right, you know, that they will do that. Or people that will go and get gas at a gas station just because they know that the person that they have a crush on might be getting gas at that time.

00:08:43 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 2:

Or go out of their way for a Starbucks that's not even near where they're going just to go through the drive-thru.

00:08:49 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 3:

Because the Starbucks person has dreamy eyes.

00:08:51 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:08:53 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 3:

Mojo on the Morning Show. Emily, hi. Hi. You actually stalked your crush?

00:08:59 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 1:

i did i met him in kindergarten and i stopped him by going to his father's yard sale

00:09:08 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 4:

so before the yard sale when's the last time you saw him

00:09:13 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

um i think my right after senior year which would have been 30 something years ago oh okay so like mojo you were just curious to see what he looked like yeah yeah yeah did you see him I'm kind of curious. I did not. I saw all of his children. His children looked just like him. The children were there, but nope, I did not see him.

00:09:39 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

And that's the thing. I think she's married, too. And I'm married, and listen, nothing's going to happen. But you're just kind of like, you reminisce a little bit. You know what I mean? That's why people go to reunions. It would have been easier to go to reunions than walk around an entire Von Marr. I looked at the amount of steps that I got that day. I think I had more than 10,000 steps just walking.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 4:

around that stupid store. What's up, Amanda?

00:10:04 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 9:

Hi, long-time listener, first-time caller. Woo-hoo! Thank you. My now boyfriend bought a table from my mom on Facebook Marketplace, so I stalked him online, and we finally set it up.

00:10:21 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 4:

Whoa. And you guys ended up meeting that way. So that really wasn't... Well, I guess he bought it from you guys, and then you started... What did you do? You started looking at him on, and did you try to meet him personally?

00:10:33 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 9:

Yeah. It was really difficult, but now that table is mine again. Yeah. Hey, yo.

00:10:40 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 10:

Yeah.

00:10:41 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 4:

That's wild. You guys are together. That's awesome. That's like, you know what? They should call your movie called The Table. You know? Yeah. And have Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds will star in that movie as you and your man. was it really that good of a table have you guys by the way real quick have you guys ever

00:11:03 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 9:

baked cookies on that table we have wow come on

00:11:09 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 2:

that's amazing story of the day right there dan what's up my wife used to stalk me several years before we got married, I was a bagger at a grocery store in high school, and she would come through my grocery line, and she'd just get a magazine or something small, and she would just come in and stalk me when I was probably a senior in high school.

00:11:37 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 4:

Did you ever notice that she was doing this? Like, did you notice her?

00:11:41 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 2:

No, never, and it took probably, you know, a couple of weeks into dating until she told me.

00:11:46 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 4:

You better not ever tell her that. You should say, I noticed you because you were so beautiful, but I didn't want to say anything, because you're going to make her feel horrible by saying you didn't notice her.

00:11:56 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 2:

Well, we've been married for 14 years now, so... I told her enough times that I haven't

00:12:01 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 4:

noticed that. Yeah. Do you guys still shop at the same grocery store?

00:12:05 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 2:

No, we moved out of town.

00:12:07 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 4:

That's wild. That's the bagger, by the way. We got the table and the bagger. What would mine be? Von Marm. Jenna, you stalked the guy that's now your husband?

00:12:20 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 8:

Yes, he is.

00:12:22 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 4:

Wow, this is amazing. Where did you stalk him?

00:12:25 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 8:

So we used to work together, and we didn't want anyone to really know. We had to think for each other. So I would get way too many coffee breaks to try to see him or just kind of walk by him going to the bathroom. Just wanted him to kind of see me.

00:12:42 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 10:

And did it work? Yeah.

00:12:45 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 1:

He's probably like, she's got an issue. She pees like every 42 minutes.

00:12:49 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 10:

A lot of coffee.

00:12:50 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 8:

Well, I started to notice him doing the same thing.

00:12:53 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

So I think that's why you guys were way over caffeinating for each other.

00:13:00 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 8:

Yeah.

00:13:00 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 4:

Thank you for the call. Appreciate it.

00:13:03 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. Thank you guys.

00:13:04 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 5:
