Hey there, I'm Kat. I'm a college athlete. I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, which caused back pain and stiffness every day. With Cosentix, I'm able to stay active.

00:01:14 - 00:01:55 | Speaker 3:

Cosentix Secukinumab is prescribed for adults with active psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis. Available in both IV infusion and self-injection. Serious allergic reactions and severe eczema-like skin reactions may occur. Learn more at 1-844-COSENTICS or cosentics.com.

I drove Kevin to go pick up his Mustang the other day I don't know how the hell they do business when they shut down 75 you can get off, actually this is kind of maybe Steve's ploy of trying to get you to buy cars from him you can get off on 75 to get onto there or for Holly Road there, you can't get back on, so this is their way of, you know, back in the day car sales guys, my father-in-law is his car salesman he used to tell me there was car guys that would take your car when they were going to do a say like a okay we're going to tell you how much money your car is for a trade-in car sales guys would go hey see your keys and they would throw them on the roof of the building so that are you kidding me yeah they would do that to keep you there so that you would say i want the new car like that was their ploy back in the day they didn't do this at zot but my father and i used to tell me about the shady car sales people that do it steve gabara might have some shadiness going on with MDOT because you cannot find an entrance to get on the freeway over there because they have that whole 75 construction thing going on over there in Holly and Clarkson and stuff. So I feel like every road in Michigan is right now under construction.

00:03:39 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 4:

It is so bad. The road that I normally take, that I normally get out of my neighborhood to come to work is under construction right now. And it's been under construction for about a month and a half. so I have to go like all a different way out of my neighborhood and then all the way around to kind of get back on track and it sounds so dumb it adds like an extra five minutes an extra five minutes at four in the morning is a lot it's so stupid it throws me off every day that I just you know I'm mindless and I get in my car and back out and go that way and then I'm like

00:04:11 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 5:

dang it yeah I have to go all the way around I don't know people like I've so I there's a couple people that live off of there's a street by my house called Pontiac Trail yeah and I see these people that live in these homes and they're really nice homes along Pontiac Trail there and the road has so at four o'clock in the afternoon five o'clock in the afternoon there is no joke five or six you know looks like miles of of cars that are waiting to get up towards Orchard Lake Road yeah how do you pull in and out of your driveway I always wonder that on those roads with those houses to me i couldn't live in those places and speaking of yucky traffic

00:04:49 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

or bad traffic remember dream cruises this weekend if you live in the detroit area so if you're in you know royal oak ferndale berkeley birmingham like

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 2:

Those areas right there. Bloomfield Hills, Pontiac. Yeah, I mean, that stretch is going to be, remember, you're going to have to go around, basically, because you can't drive in the Dream Cruise or it'll take you two hours to get anywhere.

00:05:10 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 1:

I love Detroit. I love living here. I love that this has been our home and where we've raised our kids and stuff. I don't get Dream Cruise. I've never got it. To me, and I love cars. Hey, listen, classic cars are great. I think you should have them out all summer long, not just on one weekend. I think it's a great thing to have. i never got the idea of driving up and down three lanes of traffic in your classic car with a fedex truck and an amazon truck driving next to you doing their deliveries like it would be cool if they did like saturday for three hours they closed the road down and the only thing you saw like a parade was those cars yeah but when all day long people are driving up and down the street And I know that it brings business and stuff. I get it. Or some businesses hate it probably, right?

00:06:02 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Because these people are- Because they don't have- It's very hard to access a lot of those businesses.

00:06:06 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 1:

It kind of like makes me always wonder when I see these, you know, these cars doing up and down. I'm like, why did they never in all the years of Dream Cruise just shut the freaking road down for like two or three or five hours? I don't care.

00:06:20 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:06:21 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 1:

Shut it down in a period of place and let those classic cool cars drive without having some guy in a freaking Pacifica driving next to you.

00:06:32 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 2:

It really is that.

00:06:33 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 1:

It's stupid. It's the dumbest. I never got it. Can somebody please explain that to me? Like, why has that never been the case? Is it because Beaumont or Corwell or whatever, the hospital, is down the street? I don't know.

00:06:44 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 4:

I think it would just be such a headache and hassle. They shut down the road for that Thanksgiving parade.

00:06:51 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 1:

You know, they shut the Woodward for the parade down every year.

00:06:54 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. At Thanksgiving. I don't know. I don't know the answer.

00:06:57 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 1:

Like have a parade of cars. Do I have to think this stuff through? Like, do I have to be the person that has to be the guy going, hey, maybe we do one year and try it out and see what's going on. I've always wanted to ask that question. Maybe it's because our station doesn't, doesn't do the promo. And I know that it's kind of like the oldie station does it and Channel 7 does it and stuff. But, man, I would be campaigning for that all the time.

00:07:21 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

They've been out all week at night already.

00:07:24 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 1:

It's crazy. We're supposed to go to dinner. Chelsea and I are taking Luke on his goodbye going away to college dinner to Luke's favorite restaurant. It's a place called Phoenicia, which is just amazing food. And we're going there tonight. I'm like, oh, I got to fight the Woodward Dream Cruise people. What's up, Sam? How you doing?

00:07:44 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 5:

Hi. I heard you mention about Pontiac Trail.

00:07:47 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 1:

Yes. I drive that road every day to and from work. What's happening?

00:07:54 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, so I go down Pontiac Trail sometimes, and you're absolutely right. And about ever since, like, four to six at Orchard Lake, that one turn turning left, you'll get five cars. And like you said, you're stuck there for so long. People that live on those nice houses must be so upset.

00:08:18 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 1:

I one time, this is no joke, it should take me 25 minutes to get from my house to Southfield, okay? One time I put it in Waze, and this is no joke, it said it was going to be an hour and five minutes because the traffic was so bad. I'm like, an hour and five minutes? It's not even that far. Like, I want a helicopter. It's so bad. but hey no it's all because of that one intersection yeah it's crazy you do something about it yeah it's crazy thanks sam i appreciate your call what's going on nicole it's mojo in

00:08:52 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 5:

the morning how are you hey how are you good what's up dream cruise is the walmart of parade it kind of is it kind of is it brings out all those people well just love to sit there all day

00:09:08 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

They love it. They sit there in their folding chairs on the side of the road, but they enjoy it. That's something fun. Do you think, is it generational? Like, will we see, I can't see 25 year olds right now doing, like Lydia and Bianca are never going to, to be when they're thirties and forties with a folding chair at the dry cleaners on Woodward. You know what I mean? It's not, it's not going to happen. You know what I mean? Exactly. I totally agree. I hate to say it, but I think that there are some traditions that may die.

00:09:41 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 4:

They do have different areas where all of the Corvette owners from all of the past decades get together. Beautiful. They should do that. And I like those areas. They also, and I noticed this last year, they have all of the dispensaries out. Yeah. So if you walk Woodward now.

00:10:00 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

like you smell a lot of you smell oil gas and weed they're all out and they all and that's where i say there may be a generational crossover because a lot of these cannabis companies will have like tent parties yeah for the dream crews to you know is that let people hang by the way

00:10:22 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 6:

is that a big uh is that a big thing they're sponsoring all the the uh i don't know i just

00:10:27 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 1:

I actually remember last year, Wes and the kids and I went and ate at one of the restaurants on Woodward, and our waitress disappeared. And when she finally came back, I saw her walking over from one of those tents. She went to buy whatever.

00:10:37 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 6:

Really?

00:10:38 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 1:

A pen or weed.

00:10:40 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 6:

The smell of mobile oil.

00:10:42 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 3:

It was.

00:10:43 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 6:

And weed is pure Michigan. What's going on? How you doing, Ricardo?

00:10:50 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 4:

Hey, hey, Mojo. What's happening? What's happening?

00:10:53 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 6:

Hey, hey, hey. Hold on, hold on. Ricardo, don't do this to me. Hold on a second. And I got to get Kevin here because Kevin's off this week. Don't worry. So we got bot Kevin with us. Ricardo.

00:11:03 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 4:

Hey. Thank you.

00:11:04 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 6:

What's up?

00:11:05 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

So, yeah, there's this thing called Cruising Heinz. It's exactly what you were describing. Classic cars, no regular cars allowed. On Heinz Drive? And extends to Dearborn. Cruising Heinz. It's on Heinz Park. That happens the very next weekend following the Woodward Cruise.

00:11:20 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 6:

All right. See, I like that. I like the idea of closing everything down. I think that's a smart move if they do that.

00:11:26 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

Tell me if you're going to have to walk a bit if you want to check everything out.

00:11:30 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. The problem is now I just got everybody that listens to us that lives in Royal Oak or Ferndale pissed at me because I'm telling them they should shut down their biggest road. What's up, Gil? How you doing?

00:11:41 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 5:

Morning, Mojo. Morning, everybody. Good morning. I'm calling in the service of the Dream Cruise. See, if you go to a regular car show, they're sitting there. You know, it's like a museum. But the Dream Cruise is alive. The cars are running. Yeah. and burnouts you know it's really for people that are in the cars i like to see them in motion and like to move and then hear the roar of the engines but there are also a lot of things for you to do if you walk up and down what were last year uh for mustang had a thing where you could actually get in the car and do burnouts in a little section and everything so it's more than

00:12:17 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 6:

just a it's really cool but but don't you think we should shut the road down and make the delivery truck guys go to another road or do people do people really need their amazon delivery on

00:12:29 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 5:

saturday i mean yes uh they can wait but you know it it didn't used to be that way it used to be all classic cars out there and at times more and more people are just driving their regular cars so yeah i mean you know yeah shut down you know three miles or 12 for a couple hours i'm with that but listen go there have fun you'll love it there are events and activities and the pontiac they got stuff in pontiac with live music entertainment so it the whole stretch of

00:13:00 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 6:

woodwork for this weekend okay all right i i don't mean to be a hater but i i don't know and i love cars man i want i i to me if i could have a classic old like bronco or camaro it would

00:13:11 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 1:

be unbelievable those broncos now have you seen the price of refurbished vintage broncos ryan

00:13:17 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 6:

And Kessler has one. It's amazing. He's told Chelsea that she could drive at any time she wants to. I told Chelsea, be careful in that thing because those things, those cars, man, those back Broncos are the best. What's up, Annie? Hi.

00:13:32 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 2:

Hi. Good morning, guys. Good morning.

00:13:34 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:13:36 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 2:

So I am 21 years old and the Woodward Dream Cruise is my absolute favorite holiday weekend of the year. My family is going up to K-Still this weekend for Cheeseburger Fest, and I am actually staying home to go all the days. Really?

00:13:54 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 6:

All right, so here's the thing. I take back what I said. It's going to be going on forever. It's a tradition that we need to keep going. You're how old? 21, you said? 21. Okay, so you're 21. All right, I take it back. I just sit there, and I think to myself that there's ways that they could maybe. Make it better. Yeah. Make it better. Like back in COVID days, did they virtual? Can I watch?

00:14:15 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 1:

I can't remember what they did that year. I don't think we did it.

00:14:17 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 6:

I actually watch it on Channel 7. It's funny. Channel 7 does the broadcast.

00:14:22 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 1:

I do love what Channel 7 does. And, you know, Alicia and the crew, they all dress up in the, like the 50s dresses and they do their hair. I think that's kind of cute.

00:14:31 - 00:14:38 | Speaker 6:

What do they call those skirts? It's like dogs. Like poodle skirts. Poodle skirts. Yeah. All right, Annie, we'll see you out there this weekend. Okay. Look for me out there.

00:14:39 - 00:14:41 | Speaker 1:

You're not going to find them. Because he ain't going.
