Moto Casino. America's social casino. All right, it is the Mojo in the morning show. So this weekend, Chelsea, Luke, and I were going to go visit my sister Tracy and her husband, Scott. Scott is a really awesome guy, but it's been really tragic. He's only in his mid-50s, and he was diagnosed when he was just 50 with early onset dementia. and now it's gotten really bad so we were going to go see them and spend the weekend with them because it was a long weekend. I have a story to tell you guys that I guarantee you listeners can share in this. Have you ever had like the worst experience ever when you were trying to fly and the airline like made it even more miserable? I want you to call us up and tell us. So you know how last week a bunch of the planes got grounded because they had the FAA system yes I think that that might have screwed up some things I have not heard officially but I checked in for my my flight and we went to the airport to go fly out and I had like everything all set Chelsea Luke and I were going to be you know heading off and we got to the airport like really really early because I'm one of those people that likes to go to the airport get there like three hours before a flight and my family finally agreed with me that it was okay to do as long as chelsea and i could drink like that was going to be our thing chelsea and luke they want to cut it like really close to go to a flight so got to the airport we ended up going you know and got chick-fil-a and then sat at that bar that's right by chick-fil-a at uh detroit metro and had some drinks we go to the um to the gate to get on our flight and they were making an announcement and this is like 30 minutes or so before the flight that they were offering ready for this $2,500 visa gift cards to not fly the flight wow that's how overbooked they were that they were offering and I've heard them offer before like $500 and I thought that was like a lot $2,500 $2,500 they were to not to not fly on the flight. And of course, you know, instantly my family is like, all right, let's not go. I'm like, no, we have to go. Like, we're going to spend time with my brother-in-law. And so it's like, okay, all right, we'll go. Well, we get to go check onto the flight and they have a ton of people that are there. And by the way, they had a ton of people that took the offer. So there was a bunch of people that were standing in line taking that $2,500 offer. I'm standing in line, checking in, and I do the whole phone thing where I swipe the, you know, my ticket because I can't keep my ticket on my phone, and the woman goes, boop, oh, excuse me, try it one more time, boop, try it one more time, oh, sorry, you're not on this flight. I was like, holy crap, what the hell just happened?

00:04:25 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 2:

So I said, well, hold on, well, you know, let me try it one more time. She's like, well, you just tried it twice, try it one more time. Try it one more time, no. She's like, I'm sorry, and she goes and looks at the log, you're not on the flight. Now my seat was on my boarding pass, and everything was all there. I got kicked off the flight because I was probably one of the people that honestly was not going to get a ticket because like those people that were trying to get off the flight weren't getting to be on the flight.

00:04:51 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 5:

But you already had a seat assignment.

00:04:52 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

I already had a seat assignment. Yeah. So the story gets kind of weird and gets kind of crazy. But let me just say this to you. I was.

00:05:00 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 1:

so mellow about the whole thing oh my god usually i would be like really upset but i'm like he had a few drinks i had a few drinks in me thank god for having a few drinks megan that's the best thing in the world i was so i was i felt like shannon meeting wes's dad i was that i was that that buzzed so i go off to the side and the ladies the the lady from the uh the airline says you You know, that they had a smaller plane or something like that. They had some issue or whatever. They put everybody on a smaller plane, but they were just canceling. And then the flight that they were going to offer me was not until Sunday. So it was like flying out on Friday, going to fly out on Sunday. I'm like, I'm not doing that. I'm not going to fly out on Sunday. Then we had checked bags, or Chelsea and Luke had checked bags. So we're like, well, these guys don't want to fly. Because all I kept thinking of to myself was, maybe this is a sign. You know what I mean? Like, maybe this is, like, God's way of saying you shouldn't go. I always take things that way. Like, something could happen. So Chelsea and Luke were like, we're not going. If you're not going, we're not going. Because they had their tickets, and they could have gotten on a flight. So they pulled off the tickets. They board everybody on the flight. We're standing there, and I'm like, okay, what can we do for us? And they're like, well, you could go down to the gate, gate number five or whatever. door or anything. I think we'll have your bags there for you. And then you can call the 800 number and try to get your money back. I'm like, what? This is like crazy. This is like the, it was like the worst. Try to get your money back. You didn't go on the flight. Right. Exactly. And not

00:06:35 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 2:

because you missed it or whatever.

00:06:37 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 1:

Right. Yeah. So not because of any other reason than. They said no. They didn't have a seat. They just took you off the seat. Somehow somebody, whoever had my seat, got my seat. The seat that they gave me got my seat over me or whatever. They bumped me out of my seat and put that person into the seat.

00:06:54 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 2:

Or did they check in first? Did they double sell your seat and they checked in first?

00:06:57 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 1:

I don't know because I checked on to the flight, you know, like at three in the morning or whatever it was when I wake up. And I had my seat. Everything was all set. And, ready for this, I had my seat and I wasn't sitting by my family. I called to see if I could actually move by my family. And the person said, no, there's no other seats. There's nothing to do. And I'm like, okay, no problem. So they knew I had my seat. Delta knew that I had a seat. Long story short, I see why people go to the, you know, you see on the airplanes and stuff like that, they get crazy. The guy who ended up coming to help us was like the guy who's in charge of the whole Delta thing. And do you guys ever have this where somebody starts helping you and they smile at you the whole time that they're helping you? Like, you're kind of like sitting there, you know, and you're upset about something and they're the whole time going, yeah, well, you know, so this is a... and it was like a real condescending smile i was just like oh my god this guy's trying to get me and i wasn't going to get get because guess what i had a drink right beforehand so you were smiling too so i was smiling too i was having the greatest time of my life at that moment so i asked the guy i said i said can i ask you can i ask you a question he said what what's that i said you gave me an 800 number which by the way i called that 800 number and you call the 800 number there's no humans it no it's what did they say on there is sorry but this you can't you you can't rectify your situation on this number you need to go to delta.com slash whatever the heck it is so basically it's an 800 number telling you that you can't use the 800 number so i asked i asked him i said would i get more response if i went on twitter and tweeted about this yeah and he goes are you threatening me and i go no i'm not threatening you i'm just asking you an honest question would i get more response on twitter than i would get you know being on an 800 number every time well that is a valid threat though well be honest be honest with you i i had a ticket i just all i want is i want my money back and to be honest with you i want my money back and i want to know why it is i got kicked off the flight and these other people got

00:09:04 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 2:

twenty five hundred dollars and you got a boarding pass yeah and the frustrating part is you're a hundred percent right when it comes to customer service unless you do it publicly in front of other people on an online platform nobody seems to really care about helping you with your issues

00:09:17 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

it's crazy and honestly the problem with the in with the airlines is they're never accountable right like you could spend you spend more money on your airline tickets than you spend on your rent or your mortgage or your car payment and basically they have the ability you know to not worry about you and if that was your rent or your car payment or whatever you at least have somebody you could talk to yeah with the airlines it's like oh too bad they just so bad from person to person yeah it's crazy so long story short i ended up filing like a complaint i don't know where that goes the guy said sent me like a an email it was the weekend it was holidays i'm hoping that i get some answers today i haven't gotten refunded for the tickets so

00:10:00 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 5:

three tickets i don't get refund didn't get refunded on and that guy's still smiling so the smiley guy at delta airlines is still smiling what's up joe hi how's everybody doing this morning

00:10:11 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 6:

good what's going on so i just had a comment on everything so it was uh my dad's first time flying and i bought his tickets for going on the airplane and we were flying out of detroit to las vegas and i didn't think about putting his uh he's the second person in our family the same last name so I didn't think about putting the, you know, number two in his name. Well, they let him fly out of Detroit, but they wouldn't let him get back on the plane in Las Vegas. So we're going through security and getting checked in. They're like, oh, no, you can't get on. And my dad's, you know, face was surprised. He's like, I don't know what to do. I've never done this before. So I had to come back out of security and go help him. We spent 45 minutes fighting with them.

00:10:52 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 5:

Wait, so just because he had the same name as yours, aren't there a lot of people that share same names?

00:10:57 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, but you'd have to have the second in there on his name.

00:11:00 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 5:

Is that legally on his license plate? Yeah. Is that on his license? Oh, so you didn't put it on, right?

00:11:06 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 6:

Right. So we asked the lady if we paid for his seat so he could sit next to us. And he would not, they were like, yeah, you can sit next to him on the airplane or whatnot. We're like, perfect. Well, we were the last people to get on the airplane and to make sure no one was sitting in his seat. Well, yeah, there was a lady sitting in his seat. So he had to sit all the way in the back of the airplane, and he had to sit next to two little kids, and they were falling asleep on him on the airplane. Plus, he was terrified because I'm a pilot myself, so I told him the worst place to sit in the back is the back.

00:11:39 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 5:

Oh, jeez. Oh, God. Why would you tell your dad that? By the way, the craziest thing is on Friday we were talking about those people that hover to get on their planes. I think it's karma for that conversation that we had. I think that's the problem. What's up, Candace?

00:11:55 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 3:

Hey, so this was years ago, over a decade. I had a lot of issues getting from Michigan to Mexico, and I forget what the actual issue was, but I was contacting customer service over and over again. I eventually just did, like, some crazy research on the Internet. I found the CEO's email address, and I CC'd him on the message back to the customer service, and he replied back to the woman telling me, like, we're going to get you a refund and a free ticket. Call this number, and we'll set you up. He just wanted it to be done.

00:12:33 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 5:

Wow. That's great.

00:12:35 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 3:

It was paragraphs in so many emails, and, yeah, so you got to use the internet. Use your resources.

00:12:41 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 4:

It's so sad you have to email the CEO of the company in order to get customer service.

00:12:45 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 2:

You know that girl hated you, right?

00:12:47 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 4:

Oh, sure.

00:12:50 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 5:

Now she's known. Now she's known to the person. Brianna, what's going on? What did you get for your non-flying efforts?

00:12:59 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 2:

Well, so I actually was on a plane, and I sat next to, like, this random guy, and he was really drunk. And right before takeoff, he told me the plane was going to blow up. and so then when he went yeah and when he went to the bathroom I told the flight attendant and she did nothing when it moved me um and so I wrote a letter and I got a $25 gift card that's all you got was a $25 gift card literally all I got for like a traumatic experience listen I'm at

00:13:29 - 00:14:09 | Speaker 5:

a point right now I'm at a point right now where I would just want my money back and that's it like I wanted my money back but to be perfectly honest with you it really did bum me out like honestly I don't $2,500 whatever I chose not to take that probably could have chosen that and would have been better off the smiley guys the thing that bothers me like when you when you smile like I I don't to me passive aggressive it's so passive aggressive and honestly Chelsea said to me at the end she goes I was so proud of you she goes when he was smiling I thought you guys were friends and then eventually I realized he was doing that just to kind of get your to get you pissed off And I was like, you ain't going to get me because I had an old-fashioned.
