was very nice we uh we did look good we had to get ready early okay good we did i'll be honest i'm I'm not modest. We had to get ready early because Chelsea said we are not having the same thing happen to us that happened at the last wedding we went to. The last wedding we went to for my nephew, we showed up as the bride was walking down the aisle.

Oh, God.

It was not a good situation. So she said we were going to show up to our Mother of God church in Southfield an hour before the service started. So that was the big thing. She said, I don't care if we have to sit there in an empty church by ourselves or wait in the parking lot and listen to music. We're getting there early. So we got ready, got there. The wedding, I think, was starting at like 630 or something like that. And we showed up at the at the church to our dismay to the wedding already started to early. The church was packed with cars. OK, I think every Escalade, white Escalade in the world was parked. in this church parking lot that is yeah they're all hanging out there that navigators for some reason and porsches and mercedes they are the most unbelievable cars ever um and i said chelsea oh my god what's going on she's like oh no hurry up let's run up there and um we run into go into the truth.

church and walk in and you know how when you go to a wedding and you just know one side like the bride or the groom you don't know everybody so you kind of are wondering who people are you you know because you think oh that must be somebody from the groom's family because we didn't know Jaleel and his family although a lot of them were actually listeners which was really nice so we show up and we run up and we don't know anybody and we're looking for Jamie and her family and everybody and we don't see anybody and then it hits us we are at the wrong wedding oh the right church the wrong wedding you know how the chaldeans do it they have double the weddings they had a wedding i guess right before their wedding and then they had her uh jamie's wedding right afterwards so they butt them right up against each other man it's amazing it was like aren't they long too are they no they're no they were great it was like an hour and in and out and Bang and a bang. They do a lot of signs of the cross. I mean, I'm telling you, I think I signed to the cross more times than I did in the entire 12 years. I was in Catholic school. And they, amazing homily. By the way, every Chaldean priest is young and good looking. I'm looking at, like this priest that was there, Father.

Because Bojo and I talked about him.

Oh, God. I texted Lydia and I said to Lydia, I go, no wonder why it's hard for Chaldean girls to find a good looking guy. They all become priests. And his homily was spectacular. So what ended up happening was it was the wrong, it was the wedding just before ours. So we then got to be there early enough to be able to be there and see some family and then get to say hi to some people. And we watched Jamie walk down the aisle, which was wonderful. It was beautiful. But can we talk Chaldean weddings for a second? For those who don't know what a Chaldean is, I'll reiterate it because I know that there are some people that probably don't know. They are Iraqi Catholics prominent in the Detroit area and also some parts of San Diego. I don't know. I always have to describe it. That's what Wikipedia says. They have amazing weddings. The most beautiful flowers ever at a wedding. I don't know how many they had.

We're talking like $20,000, $30,000, $40,000 worth of flowers. I don't know what they spent, but they were gorgeous. Over the top. I've only been to one Chaldean wedding, and it was like being at the Oscars. It was beautiful. The way these women were arriving in these dresses and accessories and bags and hair and makeup. I mean, it is just an experience.

Everybody looks gorgeous. Yes. They all look great. The guys look great. They clean up nicely. They look awesome. good-looking, beautiful kids. I mean, it's amazing. So we get there, and the thing that I totally forgot, and I cannot tell you, and you'll have to tell me what this is all about, why do they serve the meal so late? I hadn't eaten since about noon that day. I got home early from our broadcast that we had, and I got home like at one o'clock, I think, and had something to eat. I didn't eat dinner until, they didn't serve dinner until 10 o'clock. Not even rolls on the tables? They have like, well, they bring out something in the beginning, but it was all glutenized. But I didn't have, but no, but I'm telling you, I don't think they even brought the rolls out until, they start late. Lydia, is every Chaldean wedding this late? Oh yeah. It is like a thing?

Uh-huh.

Why is that?

Why is the food coming out when the news come on? Well, because you have to make everything a big deal. So you have to make the entrance a big deal, and then you have to make the appetizers a big deal so then you just sit around and wait for the dinner it's unreal i feel like that's why

everybody gets so drunk they don't want you to leave because you're drinking well you're not

eating it was i mean it was definitely one that started i mean it well and it was great food i mean they they go top end with the fillets and the chicken and they give you both options so you can eat them both but it took forever and i was like uh going oh gosh are they gonna are we gonna sit down at any point and just get ready to eat because i i was starting to get a little wheezy, like woozy.

Let me ask you this. Back to these $50,000 flowers. Do y'all take them with y'all? Do people take them away? Okay, the only reason I give out that number is I have a friend who is getting married. She is Chaldean, and I know how much

they're spending. She spent $50,000 on flowers?

They are going to spend on flowers. Not $50,000.

Well, I think that you can probably, at the end of the night, maybe take a centerpiece. I don't know how that works. I take flowers from every

event I go to. Now they have the vendors come. Like, they have vendors come out and wrap the flowers so you can take them home so that is such a good idea off your table or else

they throw them away right here here's a question for you i wanted to throw out um what's have is anybody ever a shown up at the wrong uh wedding have you ever like literally gone to the wrong wedding because i can't this is now the second time i've had this happen to me you guys might Remember,

I showed up at the wrong funeral.

That was so great. That's the only way I knew.

It was funny because I always do this. I try to, like, act like I know everybody. Yeah. Like, I don't want anybody to think I don't remember them. So I'm walking up to the church, and people are saying hi to me.

You saw Lucy's teacher?

I did. I saw Lucy's teacher at the end. Her Spanish teacher. At the end. She was very sweet. She loves Lucy, by the way.

Yeah, she's the best. We love you, senora.

She actually says that Lucy is the best kid ever. So I'm walking up, and people are like, hey, how you doing? How are you? And I'm going, hey, hey, what's up, man? How are you? It's good. And Chelsea's like, oh, we're at the right one? I go, I don't think so, Chelsea. I don't know. Like, I didn't know who anybody was.

Man, I got something else. I want to go to a Chaldean wedding. I went when I was younger. My boy Moconza, but I wasn't like, I wasn't who I am right now mentally. I need to go so I can really experience this thing.

It is the craziest, most beautiful, wild, over-the-top night. I need that.

It was crazy. Yeah, somebody just texted in. This is Jacob. he said did mojo fall down any stairs i'm not gonna lie to you i am like joe biden walking up and downstairs now i literally am holding i'm like i'm taking the short stairs i am holding on to the rail like it's crazy like i am not gonna fall again i'm making sure that i don't doubly hurt myself out of this whole deal after that fall down the stairs at harbors how are the dances at the wedding there well they do the the whole uh what is it called lydia where they you know they they have like a sticks and then they're you know putting them in the air and stuff like that

it's our chaldean version of the hustle the chaldean hustle i like i like that it's like The Cupid Shuffle. It was so beautiful, by the way. It's like the Cupid Shuffle. The first wedding that we attended, which, by the way, was the first wedding that was there, the bride and the groom and the entire family had a ton of people. And I'm looking at, I don't know how that, how does the Mother of God or any of these Chaldean churches, how do they get people in and out of there so fast?

they don't we had to like revamp st george's parking lot because they fight like people will get into car accidents in the parking lot just to get in and out for weddings and for mass i was

going to say when i've gone to uh to church at like kensington church the big you know uh church that they have here the big amphitheater type church they have to have the troy police doing directing of traffic i'm surprised that the southfield police don't do that for some of

these weddings what's up sam hi hi um so funny story this one time when i was like 18 i was working this factory job and uh one of the buddies that i work with his dad had passed and growing up my mom always ingrained it in my head how important it was to like show up for your friends and everything so going to doing is a big thing so i was gonna plan on going to the viewing i even like right after work changed my clothes in the parking lot and walking in like obviously i don't know anybody it's just somebody from work and when i walked in you know they had this picture of a lady and i knew it was this guy's dad that had passed so i saw this picture of this lady well i just thought it was somebody important to like the funeral home or whatever it was and uh to walk into like the actual room that the uh viewing was in yeah and it was definitely a lady and uh i knew i was there for his dad so i literally booked it out of there trying not to look at absolutely anybody isn't it funny go back to my i go back to my car and look at the obituary well it's the same name of the funeral home but different town oh that's the word that's

the worst because the same people own the same funeral homes in multiple places that happened to me when i went to keith's uh uh mom's funeral it was the wrong funeral home so i ended up having to do a little driving the the uh chaldean weddings with how they bought them up back to back and stuff sometimes i wonder if people get invited to the same wedding does that ever happen

lydia we're oh yeah like you have to hop over so really you could be invited to two weddings in one night uh-huh that's happened to us before except for we just drove to the other location we had one at penna's and one at shenandoah so we just did half and half you can't not go to both

weddings because if they see you at one of the weddings it makes you look like you only like one of the families right but how do you choose which wedding to go to first the one that you're

closer to. So if it's my first cousin getting married, I'm going to go to that one.

Probably second because you want to be there for the dinner and the dancing and stuff.

I'm going to the littlest one last. Are you? If I like you the best, I'm coming last. Kev, you got to go. I want to go. Lydia, Kaji, any Chaldean listener, if I can pull up, let me come. I was such a bad date for Chelsea, too, because my shoulder's been killing me, and I can't take pain medicine before this surgery. So I was in so much pain the entire time. Does Chelsea dance? And I was like, I got to call the show and tell them that, you know, you talked to my Uncle Paul, my cousin Danielle.

Yeah, great. By the way, it's funny. I've known Danielle and the family for a while, and it was great seeing Paul, and he's got such a great smile, good man. And I kept bumping into him the whole night, even when I was sneaking out early. and I was like don't say a word I'm like you know what I mean like I tried to pull an Irish goodbye and leave and the worst is when you try to pull an Irish goodbye and somebody goes I'm telling so well tell them we said hi it was good seeing them

I will so you guys have fun?

yeah we had a good time it was actually really fun I wish I wasn't in the pain that I was in because I would have sat there and enjoyed it and drank more because we were sitting next to our old babysitters and their husbands all wanted me to, like, drink Hennessy and whiskey and all that stuff, and I was like, I can't drink right now. Let's drink today, Cinco de Mayo. Yeah, no, I'm done drinking until I get this shoulder fixed. Oh, dang. I am a boring date now.
