A little girl with a big story to tell.

00:01:16 - 00:01:36 | Speaker 5:

Mojo in the Morning Show. So yesterday I witnessed something that was a little unsettling, but I would like to call myself a hero. It should be good. Cue Enrique. I'm a hero. Yes. Or Enrique. I'm a hero. No, come on. Enrique is the only hero song.

00:01:36 - 00:01:37 | Speaker 4:

You sing your own song.

00:01:37 - 00:01:42 | Speaker 3:

No, Hercules has a great hero song. Is he right a hero? Is he right a hero? No time flies.

00:01:43 - 00:03:50 | Speaker 5:

Yesterday, we were eating lunch, and while we were eating lunch, there was a table that was next to us of some uh i'll i won't say exactly you know who they were but they were 20 somethings oh you know and they were uh you could hear their conversation fully they were complaining about the waitress now the restaurant that i was at only had two waitresses working the entire time and they were covering probably 10 plus tables i mean it was crazy you know that these guys were able to do what they were doing and they got their food and they were complaining about they didn't get something and they had to have the waitress who was our waitress because she was doing our section go and get something for her you know for them and they were just kind of like getting into in kind of a bitchy mood and i overheard them say you know what let's just get up and leave and not pay and they had just eaten all their food well at that particular moment the second waitress that was there came over to bring something to our table because we didn't have any ketchup so we needed it and i said hey i just want you to know this i heard them say something about getting up and not paying so i just wanted to give you a heads up she goes oh my god thank you so much so then she left and just then they got up probably you know less than two or three minutes later and started walking out without having paid their bill only to get stopped by the manager of the restaurant who is up at the podium area right by the front door to stop them saying hey you didn't pay your bill wow i would like to get a letter of accommodation but i also kind of felt like honestly i felt like a tattletale narc you know what i mean like i felt kind of like that no way that was justified but then i felt like this waitress was so the waitress was like oh my god i just want to thank you so much my manager would like to thank you and he would like to buy you you know your guys's lunch i'm like wow no i'm going to pay full price no i got the

00:03:50 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 2:

that was like so excited by the way yesterday by the way i just want you to know i was

00:04:00 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 5:

thinking i should have been the lead story on the five o'clock news They should have said. Hank. Hank, you better call him for an interview. Let's go out live to Hank Winchester right now. We are live at a West Bloomfield restaurant where a crime was about to be committed.

00:04:17 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 3:

Hero mojo.

00:04:18 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 5:

Help me, Hank. No, but it was wild because, and I don't know if you've ever, have you guys ever witnessed or been part of a Dine and Dash? Because when you see it happening, it's like almost in slow-mo. Because you see the people, like I heard them talking about it, and then I see them getting up and the people that are getting up and they're getting up and this is what they do when

00:04:36 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 3:

they get up yeah they look guilty it's like so guilty the whole time also like every place has

00:04:45 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 5:

cameras now true yeah and honestly it's a fame it's a famous popular place well and i know where you were yeah so it's like you're never going to be able to go back there again i i would hope that

00:04:55 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 4:

they would submit it to like a hank and be like you know six people or however many it was because that does stink for the server who a lot of times they have to it comes out of their paycheck

00:05:06 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 3:

and Shannon she's the nicest lady ever she's been there forever she works her ass off it's not her fault that there were you know two waitresses on duty I guess a couple people called in sick or something like that but and here's the other thing too this restaurant was really cool like they did the whole thing at the beginning where they sat you down and they said hey listen And we're going to be really tough today because we only have two people working. But we don't want you to have to sit there and wait in the waiting area. So we'll get your drinks out fast and you might have to wait a little bit. So they kind of explained it ahead of time. But I'm a hero. It's tough being a hero.

00:05:44 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 2:

I mean, I just sit there. I watched a few Marvel movies this week and I never heard any of them go, I'm a hero.

00:05:53 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 3:

You know what? They missed out on the whole deal. And the sorrow that you know I remember this one I love my Mariah Carey Yes It's Mojo over there Mojo comes along Yeah With the strength to carry on Hey, they may be leaving You told her to be silent, right? Yeah And you know they can't survive So when you feel like love is gone I would like a key to the city of West Bloomfield if the city is listening right now. You won't actually go up to the bad guy and say, hey, stop it. We'll tell the 18-year-old server. No, no, no. I told the server to tell the manager. That guy looked... Listen, I've got family, and honestly, I've got a very important job. I cannot die for this job. We've got to keep things rolling here, right? Yes, I've got to make sure. What's going on, Melissa? How are you doing? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:06:55 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 1:

Hi, I just want to give a shout-out to my husband, Joe, because he knows I'm going to call for this. And he says, I always call the radio station.

00:07:01 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 3:

Oh, really? What's up, Joe? Yes.

00:07:04 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 1:

So this actually happened to us when we were first dating. We were at an Olive Garden, and we were sitting at, like, the bar area. And these two ladies were out to dinner, and they just had their dinner, and they just ordered, like, a cappuccino or something, like, a coffee afterwards. And then the waitress went to go get it, and they went out for a smoke break. and me and my husband were just like sitting there we're like i'm pretty positive they just left and they're not coming back and i felt so bad we're like oh my god i don't even know how

00:07:32 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 2:

people could do that yeah i have a question yeah yeah is there an age where it finally becomes acceptable for you to commit petty crimes because i think that if you hit a certain point you're allowed to do stuff just because you've earned the right after being on the planet for so long like if you're 85 years old you get to dine and dash that's absolutely you're right if you get away in time. If you get away, if your sneaky little butt gets back to the car in time,

00:07:59 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 4:

you earned it. See, I think when you're 80, you could tell a dirty joke and get away with it and you may be farting public and nobody make a face at you. I can't die in a dash.

00:08:10 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 3:

Listen, Megan, I think this. I think that you already get a deep enough discount with that senior citizen discount.

00:08:17 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 2:

That's true. Pay the effing bill. You take that wrinkly hand, you dig in that purse or that pocket,

00:08:22 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 4:

through all the sale candy and kleenex you got money in there granny i have to tell you that

00:08:28 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 3:

to me witnessing a crime like when you see something like that firsthand like seeing people like on the news where they're walking in and out of stores and just taking things yeah like to me i'm like going oh my god it's crazy it's so brazen i can't believe they're doing it like i it's wild to see that happening because i to me i feel bad if i have an extra thing in my cart and i didn't put it on the self scanner you know what I mean like I feel like like God's gonna strike me dead

00:08:56 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 4:

or something that week I do remember seeing I've talked about this this was years ago a lady fake a slip and fall at a J.Crew store when I was visiting my sister in Chicago I'll never forget it it was so obvious that she like set up the area right and then like faked this slip and fall Everybody knew it was fake What did you do?

00:09:20 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 3:

Did you do anything about it? Did you say anything about it at all?

00:09:22 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 4:

I didn't even need to Because there were employees that saw the same thing And went over So it didn't work? It didn't work I didn't make it

00:09:34 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 3:

I don't know

00:09:34 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 4:

She literally set up the scene of the crime Before she walked away Walked back and then pretended to slip on this thing

00:09:42 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

Have you seen the video of the girl who did that at work And she was in her break room And the video caught it She went to go get coffee And then nobody stopped to help her So she just got up and grabbed a coffee at love She's my idol, I love her

00:09:53 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

That's what would happen by the way You know what would happen honestly If I was to try to commit a crime

00:10:00 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 2:

If I was the person dining and dashing, I'd be walking out. As I'd be walking out, the person would go, hey, Mojo, I listened to the show. Or, hey, what's going on? I'm your neighbor or whatever the deal is. You get stopped by somebody. By the way, we just did this conversation here for the last 10 minutes and not one call from the West Bloomfield City Council wanting to actually have me at their meetings to get an award. Okay, I'm a little disappointed.

00:10:30 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 3:
