it's that time already thank god by the way for some inclement weather otherwise i wouldn't be able to go to bed at night uh it's kind of nice when it isn't you know the clearest of nights my neighborhood every single year from now until probably october it depends on when the weather stuff turns into a firework zone people just lighten them off all the time you get that and i get the people racing on woodward oh yeah yeah that that i'll tell you what i don't envy you it's from like april until october for those that don't live uh in the area woodward is known for this dream cruise thing where these people pull out their old cars that need mufflers

All night

00:03:16 - 00:03:20 | Speaker 3:

You get fireworks, I get that I feel you

00:03:20 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

It gets to be loud and crazy Oh, can I throw So fireworks displays are also a big thing too Like parties and things like that So let me ask you guys this question Do you think that we are Like I don't know, party poopers Every party needs a pooper, and that's why we invited Mojo. I went to a fireworks party this weekend. So they had a fireworks display on one of the lakes here. And I went with two people that you guys may know. I know you guys know. The listeners may not know them, but I know they'll know at least one of them because he advertises on our station, and he's Megan's future husband. So I went with Steve Gabara and Jeff Sackwa to a fireworks party. Us, the three stooges I mean that, honest to God So we go to this fireworks party And I don't know if you guys are like this Or if you think that I'm just like ridiculous for doing this We got to the party at like 7 They had barbecue and they had drinks and all this stuff And they don't light off the fireworks until dusk Which is typically like 10.02 or 10.10 or something like that at night So from 7 until that time, we had a great time. We drank. We ate. I mean, it was just awesome. But as soon as the fireworks started going off into the sky, like the moment that the very first one went and everybody all of a sudden, if you ever want to rob somebody, here's when you rob them. When the fireworks display goes off, everybody instantly just looks right up.

00:05:00 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

And forgets all their stuff that they have around them, including their wallets, purses, whatever. I swear to you, I could have made off with some really nice purses. Because there were some ladies there with some nice purses. We raced out of this place. We literally took off running because it was one of those things where it's like, I want to beat the traffic.

00:05:21 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 3:

There is nothing more mojo than that story right there.

00:05:24 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 2:

So the whole point of going is the fireworks. But for me, it wasn't. It was to see people, and it was to enjoy the food. And I just, I was kind of like, I'm done with this. I don't want to be part of this. And Jeff and Steve were exactly that same way. They both were like, all right, let's get out of here. And we got out of there as fast as we possibly could. It was so damn funny. And it made me think, I get made fun of all the time by listeners, people who are on the show. If I go to a concert, I never stay for an encore. I am out of that place so fast.

00:06:06 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 3:

No, that's when all the good songs are. Oh, for the most part.

00:06:09 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 2:

You are such a liar, you go do the same thing too.

00:06:13 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 4:

For shows that I don't really care to be at.

00:06:18 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 2:

Right. See, I told you that you'd do that. But if it's one of your shows that you are like, you know, you don't have to worry about beating the crowd to the parking lot because there's only like 100 people or something.

00:06:31 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 3:

You know what I think the rule should be, though? It's just no concerts on the weekday. That is the most ridiculous. We should create a new law. Concerts are only on Fridays and Saturdays. My friend just invited me to go to Pink with her. And I'm like, it's a Wednesday night.

00:06:47 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 4:

Do you guys strategically do it where you look at the set list and then you pick which song you want to leave at you know exactly what song you're gonna leave at i am absolutely i am

00:06:56 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 2:

out of there as soon as i looked at that taylor swift set list which was a long set list and i

00:07:00 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 1:

knew what era i was leaving by i mean i was like here i am out of here i'm the exact opposite like but for the same reason so i'm not one of those people where as soon as the event ends and you see everybody in a line or in a rush to literally go nowhere but to stand in front or behind someone I will wait until security says, hey, sir, it's time to go. Like, I'm usually there when people are cleaning up because I don't want to rush to wait.

00:07:28 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 2:

But you don't get bored, though? That's cool. And you don't hate the idea that you're waiting in an empty arena?

00:07:35 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 1:

One of the funny things that happens, though, is everybody likes people watching. You get to see who's drunk. You get to see who lost their phone or something.

00:07:41 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 3:

I could not ever go anywhere with you because if I'm waiting around, in my head I'm going, I would be halfway home by now. Or I would be home in my bed right now and I haven't even left yet.

00:07:52 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

It's a parking lot. Like literally, especially if you parked in like a parking garage.

00:07:56 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

That's why you gotta use ParkWiz. You just get right out of there.

00:07:59 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 4:

I think it would depend on, am I staying downtown? If I'm staying downtown and I can walk to my hotel, then yeah, I might wait. But if I have to go through traffic or if I have like a kid with me or anything that has to do with traffic, I'm beating that traffic. Other than that, I'll walk. I don't care.

00:08:14 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 3:

And you don't even really like fireworks anyway.

00:08:16 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I hate them. I hate fireworks. So for you, it doesn't matter. Fireworks, to me, are the biggest waste of time. Like, you watch these things. I mean, it's like people are like, oh, my God.

00:08:26 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 3:

I love fireworks. They make me happy. But I don't get, like, the, you know, like, the bros that spend three grand on fireworks every year. That's, like, took the big, like, Ford fireworks. That's cool. Yeah. You know, you go somewhere and they have the fireworks. That's cool. But, like, people that drop thousands of dollars on them, that's what I don't get.

00:08:45 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 4:

What about hundreds from Crazy Kathy's? asking for a friend asking for me

00:08:50 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 2:

see I have to tell you that the fireworks display I heard when the one that we were invited to over the weekend I heard they had to stop it in the middle they would shoot him off off of a lake some a-hole drove his boat into the middle of the fireworks like actually started like was dry because you know the people that live on the lake have like boats that they can actually go watch them from so the person was actually doing it I'm sorry I don't enjoy it that much Just like concerts I think a concert is great I love the experience of being able to see some good songs But I don't like the experience Of sitting in that parking lot Chelsea wanted to stay until the very end of that Zach Brown

00:09:30 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 3:

I was just going to say, I was right behind you Walking up Now we're going to stay here At an hour in the parking lot And I'm going to go to the bathroom That is not an exaggeration Bitched the whole time On the way out

00:09:46 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 2:

So Chelsea's friend was in from out of town. She's a big fan, and she wanted to go to this stupid concert. We go to the concert. I had a great time. The best. And all she wanted to hear was Zac Brown saying chicken fried.

00:09:57 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 4:

Me and me and chicken fried. Yeah.

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

And I'm like, well.

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 6:

hear it in the car i'll play i'll play you a lot you said that i could have played this in the car

00:10:05 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 4:

i'll play i'll play a live version for you but i sat in that parking lot and for those that have never been to pine knob understand if you go to pine knob you got to leave four hours before a concert and you got to plan on five hours after the concert you finally get home because it's like in a neighborhood it's like one way in one way out and you you are stuck there unless you do what i do and that is leave really early you just get out of there as possible as early as possible

00:10:35 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 6:

so i i said it in the group chat harry styles sings at people who leaves his concert early he does calling them out for leaving early to beat the traffic i'm gonna hold on oh my goodness erica badu just did that recently like literally stopped the concert and started singing where are you going it's my absolute favorite he gets the crowd to sing along that's why when we booked

00:10:58 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 5:

artists here. The bigger artists wanted to do not the end of the show, but the middle of the show, because they knew people were going to leave early. Yeah. They knew that I was going to be

00:11:06 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 4:

out of there as fast as possible.

00:11:13 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 3:

You on the stairs. You on the stairs. We can see you sneaking out. We can see you sneaking out. We can see you, we can see you, we can see you, we can see you sneaking out, sing it loud now, we can see you, we can see you, we can see you sneaking out, sing it loud now, we can see you, we can see you, we can see you, we can see you sneaking out, sing it loud now,

00:11:34 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 4:

we can see you, I'm just going to the bathroom, enjoy those traffic free roads, enjoy those

00:11:40 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 3:

traffic free roads, enjoy those traffic you will rooms, I'm just going to buy a t-shirt

00:11:44 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 4:

man, oh that's funny, that is actually good, that is totally me, um, texter, texter here says seven or three one three says agree i hate fireworks two minutes is enough i go to fireworks displays and i leave as soon as they start just like you mojo uh five one seven says uh mojo uh you don't like celebrating america by blowing up stuff made in china our boss i know has said that numerous times with those little uh deep voice guy things i'm not gonna lie to you though the Fireworks are okay. I hate fireworks. If they're being blown off by my neighbor who has to run crazy away from the fireworks.

00:12:27 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 5:

That's me. 100% that's me.

00:12:29 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

Mike, that is a TikTok right there. You got to do this. You got to have Allie way back with the kids safe enough that she can also get a good angle on you running. Because when you see people run, like me running is kind of funny. I mean you see me running Like I honestly My legs are like slow motion You know

00:12:52 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 5:

Because it never lights right away So you're like And then you think it's lit So you run really fast And then it doesn't do anything And you start walking closer And all of a sudden

00:13:00 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 3:

Oh no Yeah no

00:13:02 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 4:

So I am one of those I am one of those guys Call us up and tell us What it is that you leave early from You'll have to tell us 844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548
