All right. It's Mojo in the Morning. am i the a-hole yes that's the answer all right uh what's going on uh it's mojo in the morning no actually uh am i the a-hole is coming up here in a little bit i've been an a-hole my entire life and it's hard to believe that uh me being as big an a-hole as i am that i have made it to another anniversary with my wife chelsea is that not amazing today is our anniversary and this is gonna thank you thank you thank you thank you oh i can't believe it one more year together just insanity um so uh this is the wildest thing some people will they you know they'll see uh chelsea especially i mean i i kind of i think i look my age i don't know if i necessarily would would say i don't um but uh chelsea does not i mean chelsea uh and i are celebrating our 30th anniversary and she looks and yes yes i did marry her when she was 12 but back then it was not illegal to do that no we live we were amish and we uh lived on a farm in the middle of pennsylvania somewhere actually are there any religions where you can get married at 12 years old are there are there i'm sure there are many there's lots of them um so actually this is actually no joke chelsea uh was not able to drink at our wedding like legally drink at our wedding she did drink she got champagne for a champagne toast but legally she was not uh Oh, there we go.

00:04:08 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 8:

There we go, baby.

00:04:09 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 9:

Thank you, Zach.

00:04:12 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 8:

Anniversary. It's our anniversary.

00:04:16 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 9:

By the way, if I was going to be an artist, I would come up with songs for things like big dates in people's lives. Because when I was trying to make a post for her and I put something up on Instagram, I looked for songs under anniversary. And there was like one song. That was all they had on there as a choice.

00:04:33 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 5:

Should you create one? I'd love to hear your songs. On the spot. Ready? Go. Anniversary song.

00:04:39 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 8:

Today is the day that she hasn't made. It's our anniversary. Oh, that sounds just like that one. Somebody already made that.

00:04:48 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 9:

I don't know. I couldn't come up with it. Happy. Or how about this one? Happy anniversary to you. Happy anniversary to you. Somebody else's as well. I know. There are a couple anniversaries.

00:05:00 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 2:

songs though what if you just google anniversary song there are at least four i looked i said a

00:05:07 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 3:

couple to be fair i would come up if i was an artist i'd come up with uh more songs for fourth

00:05:13 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 1:

of july uh no we got firework we don't need anything easter what about easter the peter rabbit song or peter nothing for easter that song that's the only one can you think of another one You don't know that? Yes, a banger. Maybe jump, jump.

00:05:32 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, here you go.

00:05:34 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 1:

That's a stretch. I like that.

00:05:37 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 3:

So when Chelsea and I got married, so Chelsea was only 20. She just turned 20. She literally turned 20 a month before our anniversary. So she wasn't even 21. And I was 24. So, you know, we were both very, very young. And I look at it now that I have kids that are the age that we were when we got married. And if my son Luke came to me and said, I'm getting married, I would go and kidnap him and put him in a, you know, I don't know, a boarding school or something. Like I would look at him like he was crazy. What the hell were our parents thinking allowing us to get married? Do people get married that young anymore? Is that something that happens?

00:06:23 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 1:

I don't feel like it's a popular thing. I'm sure it's not, you know, uncommon, but I don't... It has to be very rare. Yeah.

00:06:33 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 3:

I just think that it's nuts. Like, you know, first off, for those who don't know, my mom passed when I was young, so my dad was pretty much checked out once my mom had passed. And he had remarried, and he lived in Chicago. I lived in Tucson. But Chelsea's mom and dad were very, very, you know, good parents. Like, they were very religious. And I think one of the reasons we ended up getting married so young was they would never let us spend the night with each other because we weren't married to each other. But if we could have shacked up with each other and just lived with each other, we probably, I don't even know if we would have gotten married.

00:07:05 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 2:

I don't think it would have.

00:07:06 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

Call Chelsea, will you, Lydia? Can you dial her up? Because I want to ask.

00:07:11 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's the thing, though. That probably delays the time that people get married if they can just live with together. Basically, they're married already without having the ring and all that. I would have had the cow for free, Kev, right? Don't be saying right.

00:07:26 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 3:

I see what you're trying to do. Why buy the milk when you can get that cow for free? I would have had it.

00:07:32 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 2:

Don't ruin your anniversary.

00:07:34 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 3:

I'm not ruining my anniversary. But I look at it now and I think to myself, God, it's amazing. I mean, it's funny. In all the years that Chelsea and I have been together, we've accomplished a lot. We've had a couple houses. So we have had three houses, okay, that we've owned. So three homes. We have three children. We've had three divorce attorneys. We've had all, no, but we have. Like, it has not been an easy, anybody that listens to that podcast that we do, the We Don't podcast, we don't talk about how easy marriage is. In matter of fact, I don't think we make marriage sound like it's anything special. But I think it's realistic that it's tough. It is the hardest thing that I think both of us do. Chelsea, are you there?

00:08:20 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 4:

Hey, Chelsea. Hi.

00:08:22 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 3:

Happy anniversary.

00:08:24 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 4:

Oh, thank you. Happy anniversary to you.

00:08:28 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 3:

By the way, Chelsea and I were up all night last night making love. Listen to what her voice sounds like right now. It's amazing.

00:08:35 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

No, it's just because I've been sick.

00:08:37 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Hey, Chelsea, I was just explaining to these guys that when we got married, you were so young, you couldn't even drink at the wedding. Isn't it crazy to think that our parents let us get married or didn't try to stop us from getting married when we were?

00:08:54 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

Well, clearly they just don't care. I think they're like, yeah, go.

00:08:59 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Go. Do you think, honestly, if it were nowadays, we would have probably just lived together?

00:09:08 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 4:

Oh, for sure. Yeah. Yeah, we would have lived together and then realized it probably wasn't worth it. Right.

00:09:15 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 3:

I know. So you would have left me with the entire rent and gone off?

00:09:21 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 4:

I just think that marriage is really, really, really hard. It can be very rewarding. Listen, we got three amazing kids out of it, but it's been hard. I mean, I'm not going to sit there and lie and say it's been a walk in the park. It's been really, really hard.

00:09:38 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:09:39 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 4:

It's a choice you make every day to continue.

00:09:43 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. And I do think this, I think when we got married back in the day, I think that we went into it not really prepared at all. We knew our parents, because our parents never talked to us about the problems in their marriage.

00:10:00 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 2:

Like, I feel nowadays that we talk way more to our children about issues that come up in our marriage.

00:10:08 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 6:

Do you think people are more prepared, or is that something you can never prepare for? Even if you think you're prepared. I feel like it's like kids. Like, I'm waiting to be ready, and you're never ready.

00:10:17 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 5:

Well, they write all the books on what to expect when you're expecting, and I'm sure there's a lot of books on marriage, but until you are in it, you just don't know. Because you honestly, I mean, I remember when his brother and even my parents were like, you're just too young. And I thought, you just don't get it because I love him so much. And love is great, but it's, you know, it doesn't take care of everything. You know, reality hits and life hits. And it's just, again, it's a choice. It's really, really hard, you know?

00:10:51 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. But over the course of time.

00:10:55 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:10:55 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. And over the course of time, I do think that in Chelsea and I always talk about the cycles of our marriage. And I don't know if any other people feel like this, but I feel like there are cycles in marriage where things are going good. But then you always think, OK, something's going to happen, you know, that something's going to come up. What's going on, Courtney? Hi, it's Mojo in the morning. How are you?

00:11:20 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 4:

Hi, Mojo. I'm good. How are you? Happy anniversary.

00:11:23 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 2:

Thank you. Appreciate you so much.

00:11:25 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 4:

yeah so i just called in because i know i understand your point and i understand a lot of people's point about why it's good to move in before you get married but i feel like nowadays a lot of guys will just move in with a girl and then they'll never propose and they'll never want to take that step to get married i mean there's that really stupid old saying if you um can get the milk before you buy the cow or whatever yeah why buy the cow when you can get

00:11:54 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 2:

the milk for free. But that's where I believe that, that women and guys, cause there's probably women that don't want to get married, but you guys, you got to know what you want. And if you want to eventually get married, you got to say, listen, this is what I want. And you got to be able to be willing to like, it's like buying a anything, a car or something. You gotta be willing to walk away. Uh, if you don't get the price that you want, or if you don't get the person that's

00:12:18 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 4:

willing to to make the commitment but in certain cultures you don't get that kind of um luxury like once you've moved in with that person it's like that person you're ruined forever if you got that serious with somebody and you guys didn't pick this up to get married

00:12:34 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 2:

and so you just get kind of stuck yeah well I mean listen I I think that that's a lot of people do that in dating even before they move in with each other but you're right once you move in with You feel like you, you know, you got what you got. You don't need to put the legal paperwork behind it. But Brian, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. How are you?

00:12:56 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. How are you, sir? Just calling to wish you a happy anniversary from me and my girlfriend, Jessica. It's actually our four-year anniversary today, too. So we just wanted to wish you a happy anniversary.

00:13:06 - 00:13:10 | Speaker 2:

Happy anniversary. So anniversary of dating with each other?

00:13:11 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we've been together for four years. Definitely plan on marrying the woman. She's a great woman. We just had our first child of almost eight months now. Beautiful little daughter.

00:13:21 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 2:

When are you planning on marrying her? Because that last caller made it seem like guys don't ever want to marry.

00:13:27 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yes, absolutely. Planning on marrying her. I haven't got engaged to her yet, but definitely planning on doing that in the future.

00:13:35 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 2:

What are you waiting for?

00:13:37 - 00:13:54 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. Honestly, that's a good question. There's not really any real reason other than I've owned my own business, so it's been really tough along that aspect, just trying to keep that in line, just trying to keep that going with being busy, you know.

00:13:54 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 1:

Well, Lucido Fine Jewelry is expecting you later this afternoon to look at engagement. What's that? I'm sorry? I said Lucido Fine Jewelry and Fran are expecting you this afternoon.

00:14:02 - 00:14:12 | Speaker 6:

Is that business doing well? Because if she's lonely and needs a sister wife, I am also willing to move in and be financially supported by you.

00:14:13 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 3:

Well, we appreciate that. I know my business is definitely going well. I own a food trailer here in Toledo, Ohio. So, yeah, it's definitely going good, though. Wait.

00:14:25 - 00:14:27 | Speaker 5:

It's been a good season. Oh, cool.

00:14:27 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

I like food. I do find it interesting, though, that you've had a couple of different excuses, like, of why you haven't gotten married yet. And I do think that what that first caller was saying about moving in together, you have all these excuses of why you're not going to do it, yet you plan on doing it. So it's one of those things where I think that you, I don't know, I do agree that that first caller seems like they were right in regards to if you do move in with each other or you have a baby together.

00:15:00 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 5:

started a business together you've done everything but get married what is the point why are you

00:15:05 - 00:15:31 | Speaker 4:

waiting to to do that i don't know honestly there's no real reason i guess um it's definitely happening though i know that much i don't really have a real answer for that question well good good luck and hopefully she's not listening to this and happy anniversary what's her name wait what's your what's your girlfriend's name Oh, she's with him. Her name is Jessica.

00:15:32 - 00:15:33 | Speaker 5:

Jessica, do you want to get married?

00:15:34 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Absolutely, she does. Please. She's not subtle.

00:15:38 - 00:15:45 | Speaker 5:

So, Brian, if she wants to get married, and this is the thing that I was saying, and Chelsea, what do you think about this?

00:15:48 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 2:

I mean, at this point, they have a baby. If everything's going great, they should get married.

00:15:54 - 00:16:11 | Speaker 4:

We definitely are. We definitely are. Just propose right now, bro. Want that? Just propose right now, bro. No pressure. I don't have a ring right now. She don't care. Get one later. Go to J.Faster Jewelers. She definitely cares. She wants a ring. All right. But, hey, it's great talking to you guys.

00:16:11 - 00:16:15 | Speaker 5:

He's like saying to himself, I wish I would have never called you guys.

00:16:17 - 00:16:21 | Speaker 4:

No, not really. No, I appreciate it, you guys. So have a good day, you guys.

00:16:22 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 5:

Take care, buddy. Trent, what's up, Trent? It's Mojo in the morning. How you doing?

00:16:27 - 00:16:29 | Speaker 3:

Good. How are you? and happy anniversary.

00:16:29 - 00:16:32 | Speaker 5:

Thank you, buddy. Thanks so much, man. What's going on?

00:16:33 - 00:16:53 | Speaker 3:

Me and my fiancé, we've been together going on four years. I've been engaged for a year now. Just bought our first house six months ago, and it's probably the best decision I've ever made. We've been together since we were sophomore and junior in high school and getting married in two years.

00:16:53 - 00:17:02 | Speaker 5:

Wait, how old are you now? 21. Oh, my God. So there are younger people still getting married. You're 21. How old is she?

00:17:03 - 00:17:04 | Speaker 3:

19.

00:17:05 - 00:17:09 | Speaker 5:

You're 21. She's 19. You guys just bought your first house together, and you're getting married.

00:17:10 - 00:17:18 | Speaker 3:

Yes. We both worked pretty hard. She's in college, so I'm trying my best to help put her through and pay the bills.

00:17:20 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 5:

That's amazing. Chalice, this is like us. That's crazy how young these guys are.

00:17:24 - 00:17:33 | Speaker 3:

How did you buy a house? And I would not change a thing. She's my best friend. She's helped me with so much. Best decision I've ever made, personally.

00:17:34 - 00:17:37 | Speaker 5:

That's amazing. Chelsea, what do you think?

00:17:42 - 00:18:16 | Speaker 2:

I would, you know, there's no rush in life. So if it is the best thing and the sure thing, it's always going to be there. I would just, there's so much growing that happens in your 20s, and so I would just give it a couple of years, not saying that you won't be together, that's not what I'm saying, but there's just so much growing that you guys still have to do, and maturing, and I get it, because, you know, you feel like this is, I'm not saying that it's not it, I'm just saying, you know, you can still grow together.

00:18:16 - 00:18:57 | Speaker 5:

and she's still in college man that's amazing that you know and you're paying for her college that's that's pretty cool too i mean listen i i do think i i think looking back on it right now with all these callers add up for something chelsea and i got married i had i was making at the time that chelsea and i got married i was making twenty what three thousand dollars a year twenty four thousand dollars a year and we got married we lived in a one-bedroom apartment that I still don't know how I was able to afford, but it's, but I look at all of this and I say, would I change anything? No. But do I think that it's going to be tough for you? I think absolutely. It's going to be tough.

00:18:58 - 00:19:00 | Speaker 3:

I think it's going to be 100% agree.

00:19:00 - 00:19:16 | Speaker 5:

But I also think it's going to be tough if you wait till you're 40 years old and get married. Cause I think marriage is not easy. I mean, Shannon, you and Wes just got married and you guys probably within the last six months or seven months realize that every day is a new challenge for you guys every day is a new

00:19:16 - 00:19:36 | Speaker 1:

challenge and working through something and yeah absolutely i i actually said this to him yesterday i'm like i feel like i have learned more about myself and being in a healthy relationship in the past couple of months than ever in my whole entire life yeah yeah it's it's you do

00:19:36 - 00:19:59 | Speaker 5:

i think every day you do learn something about yourself one of the biggest things i think i learn about myself is i'm a selfish person yeah and and and there are no for real but but i think we all i think we all in a lot of cases we all are selfish people because we have to take care of we take care of ourselves and sometimes we don't understand that when you're getting married you got another person that you gotta be

00:20:00 - 00:20:13 | Speaker 1:

considerate of oh i know exactly she'll uh she'll let you know uh i'm one stubborn bastard uh we we uh we we clash a few times well i think that uh you guys sound like you're you're working

00:20:13 - 00:20:29 | Speaker 5:

it well and uh if you need any advice ever you call me and i'll tell you just say yes that's the advice i give to everybody all right we'll talk to you later well thank you guys chelis and i are going to have a very romantic anniversary today okay i was going to ask you what you're

00:20:29 - 00:20:31 | Speaker 4:

going to do to celebrate? We're going to

00:20:31 - 00:20:33 | Speaker 5:

DoorDash and we're going to binge watch.

00:20:33 - 00:20:35 | Speaker 4:

So DoorDash and binge watch.

00:20:36 - 00:20:37 | Speaker 5:

I don't know, Chels. What should we binge watch today?

00:20:39 - 00:20:41 | Speaker 1:

I don't know. Well, Shrinking

00:20:41 - 00:20:44 | Speaker 5:

comes out tomorrow. Oh, that's right. Season 2.

00:20:45 - 00:20:51 | Speaker 2:

Love is Blind. Love is Blind, Chels. Nobody wants this. I'm still stuck on it. Mayor of King's Town.

00:20:51 - 00:21:14 | Speaker 5:

Trust me. Not romantic, but it's good. We're going to have to be married for another 30 years just to get through all of those shows together. There you go. By the way, what do you do if you end up getting divorced in the middle of binge watching? Do you continue to watch or do you get custody of your own show? I don't know.

00:21:14 - 00:21:15 | Speaker 1:

Are you asking me?

00:21:15 - 00:21:17 | Speaker 5:

No, I'm not. I'm not asking.

00:21:17 - 00:21:18 | Speaker 1:

Why are you bringing that up today?

00:21:18 - 00:21:42 | Speaker 5:

I'm just joking. I'm joking. He's doing Kelly Ripley. I love you, Chelsea. Have a... I hope you feel better. I can't believe that I've put up with you for 30 years, but I'm willing to do it.
