delivery area and charges may vary it's mojo in the morning so i went up and met with a friend that i hadn't seen in a while yesterday and i i hate going to cities that have parking meters in our area it's like birmingham royal oak have them ferndale and ferndale yeah but they don't have them in like i'm excited wyandotte doesn't have like the meter thing i uh or you know where I've parked, but I hate the meters. I think, honestly, it's like, if you have a meter, just charge whoever, you know, so you don't have to sit there and feed meters and stuff like that. It's just stupid. So a buddy of mine has come up with a way that he gets around having to feed the meter. And when I saw that he did this, I thought, is this a genius idea or is this guy a complete moron? we were hanging out for a while I mean gosh over two hours two and a half hours got to a point where literally Chelsea called and said are you ever coming home and we were leaving and I walked over towards where his car was and I said to him I go where's your car and he goes oh it's right there and I could look and I see a car with hazard lights on and it's front hood open and I said why is that why do you have your hazard lights on your front hood open and he said that's how I get around paying for the meters and paying for parking what is I pull it into the parking spot put the hood up with the hazards on and then the people that are the meter reader people just think oh the guy's car broke down he's going to come back and they don't actually will they won't write him a ticket and sure enough they did not we were there for over two hours and he they didn't write him a ticket so in this guy and i had to go on this park mobile app and i this is my problem with the park mobile app the park mobile app you can do it but you can only do it for a certain time and then you cannot up your amount that you're going to stay there unless you put it in for like you have another car or something like that so that's what i do yeah i have another car on my

00:04:32 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

account that is not my car and I just I pay for that car's parking and it leaves the light

00:04:38 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 3:

blinking green if that makes sense you let it run out to zero like zero zero you can add two hours again yeah and yours yes yes so if I like there's a two hour limit here and so I'll usually like do an hour and then add an hour if I'm still out and if you let it run out to zero you can just do the

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

same car and add two hours again. Well, you live in a respectable city.

00:05:00 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 1:

Birmingham, Michigan. I guess they do it because they don't want people just constantly taking up parking spots or parking there for, you know, days or something.

00:05:08 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah. No, I get what they're after.

00:05:10 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 1:

You can beat the system. So it's, well, how about this? How about beating the system by pretending like your car's broken down? Would you ever think about doing that?

00:05:19 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 5:

Absolutely. Can I ask a dumb question? Yeah. If you put your hazards on, does that affect your battery?

00:05:25 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 1:

It does, but I don't-

00:05:26 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 5:

Like, would it drain your battery?

00:05:27 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, probably, But I don't think two hours would probably necessarily do it. But I agree with you. Yeah, that's something. I mean, you definitely don't want to park it for hours upon hours or days. You know what I mean? Like that.

00:05:37 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

Okay, but then how believable then when you have to actually jump your car to get it going again. People are going to say, oh, it really worked broken down. That's true.

00:05:45 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 1:

Is that worth the free parking, I guess? Yeah.

00:05:48 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 2:

You're putting out the bad karma of saying that your car's broken down and now potentially your car could break down because you put it out there.

00:05:55 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

I never thought about that. That's like saying my grandma died, you know? and why you don't have a homework assignment in, you know? Karma is real. But here's the thing with the parking stuff. I will park sometimes. Like, I go get my hair cut, and I go to the sixth salon, which has the meters and stuff there, or it has the parking garage. And I hate going in the parking garage, because to be perfectly honest with you, I feel like going in the parking garage psychologically to me is a loss, because psychologically I could not find a street parking spot. I had to go in the parking garage.

00:06:24 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 5:

Even though it's free. I don't know why it is. It's free. Up to two hours.

00:06:28 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 1:

Up to two hours, exactly. So what I do is I find a parking spot, and I always just do the max time. And there have been times where I'll go, and the max time is only one hour. But then there are times I go, and the max time is four hours, and I'm paying, like, crazy amount of money for, you know, an hour haircut. So I always feel like I'm losing either way. What's going on, Jeremy? How you doing?

00:06:49 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, there's a Kroger's at Grosse Pointe. They have parking meters in the parking lot.

00:06:55 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

Oh, that sucks.

00:06:57 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, so you spend money at Kroger's, and then you've got to spend money for parking. I think that's really crazy.

00:07:04 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 1:

How do they do that? They should have, like, some kind of a thing where if you – you know how they always validate or something like that? Yeah. They should figure that out.

00:07:11 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, right, right.

00:07:13 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 1:

They do that in Chicago, where my son lives in Chicago, to go to the Target in Lincoln Park, you have to pay for parking. And that makes no sense, too, you know what I mean? Like, that just – it's kind of idiotic. But yeah, I had a parking ticket. Yeah. By the way, you can tell that you are from gross point because you called it Kroger's. You added the S at the end of the Kroger. Oh, no, I'm from Roseville. Okay. That even more so, uh, there, there's nothing parking meters instead of parking meter. I, I, for some reason have found that I add an S to the end of anything that goes on here, including the fact that it sucks that you have to pay for the parking meter stuff, so it sucks.

00:07:58 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, absolutely.

00:08:00 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 1:

Thank you for the call. Take care of yourself.

00:08:02 - 00:08:03 | Unknown:

Thanks.

00:08:03 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

For some reason, I always feel like the cities with the parking meters are, and then they have the meter person that's in like a golf cart, like driving around. Have you ever seen that at all? And the person that's the parking meter person seems like it's the person that got like picked on or something like when they were younger and they're just taking it out on you they got a personal vendetta for revenge it's in when you drive around these cities where the parking person is there they will be as bold to write you a ticket even if they see you getting into your car yeah yeah like they don't care and then a buddy was telling me about this because i i told somebody last night i'm like i'm like hey hey, you know, this happened to us during the day. Jesus.

00:08:47 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 5:

Honest to God. Oh, my God. Did you do that on purpose? You did.

00:08:51 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. So a buddy of mine was telling me that they'll chalk your tires so that they actually will do the, you know. Did they do that? Yeah. He said that in, I think it was Birmingham or Royal Oak, they chalk the tires to tell if it's the person that should be in that parking spot because what ends up happening is you'll get a guy like me that will max out, and I will max out the parking and then leave there after, you know, whatever time, and then there's like two hours left on the green thing on there.

00:09:25 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:09:25 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 1:

And people will pull right back in it, seeing the green thing on there, and then they'll notice that there's no chalk on there.

00:09:30 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 5:

They used to chalk tires when I lived in Atlanta, and then they would boot your car, you know? Oh, really? But the thing that blows my mind about that, like in a Birmingham or Royal Oak or Ferndale, Grosse Pointe, wherever, is like, who cares if you're there back to bed? Like, you're still paying. They're still making the same amount of money. I don't get it. I'm missing something.

00:09:49 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

I don't know. Then, Mike and Megan, you guys probably don't see this as much, but in Royal Oak, they think backing into parking spots makes it more efficient.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 6:

have you guys been, Megan, you might have

00:10:02 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 3:

when you'd go visit. I spent a lot of time in Royal Oak, yeah.

00:10:03 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, but they, you don't, you can't pull in face forward. Nope. You have to back into the parking spots. It is the dumbest

00:10:12 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 5:

thing. Well, here's the story. It's not as crazy as hazard lights and putting my hood up, but I went to New York a couple of years ago, and I was around Madison Square Garden, and if you've ever been to New York, it's hell trying to find a place to park. So I see this little area where the orange, like, caution cones are, and I say, That looks like a good place to park So I go over there, I move the caution cones I park, and then when I come back later I put the caution cones back So I can have my parking spot

00:10:39 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 6:

And it was there And nobody did anything Because I see that all the time Where they'll put things on the meter saying that you can't park there And I often wondered Why somebody doesn't just start parking there And take all the things off the meters They'll do that to kind of block the spots Wouldn't it be nice to just have your own cone I thought about that

00:10:58 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 5:

We're like, let me just carry a cone in the trunk with you.

00:11:01 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 6:

Anybody that works in a construction company that can just send us a bunch of cones to see if we can get one of those. Do they sell those at like Ace Hardware or whatever?

00:11:09 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 3:

I'm sure you can buy them. Amazon has everything. Come on. You don't need to buy those. You can just take them, right?

00:11:15 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 6:

You pay taxes, they're yours. Right.

00:11:18 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 3:

We did have our felony tree, remember?

00:11:20 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 6:

That's true.

00:11:21 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 3:

Our Christmas tree made out of construction.

00:11:24 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 1:
