By the way, being away and being, you know, on vacation, holy Christ, I was...

00:01:23 - 00:01:25 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I feel like I need to detox.

00:01:25 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 2:

I met a listener, I was just telling Shannon about this, named Rachel from Warren, Michigan. She was a bartender. You want to hear a great story? This is a great story. So I'm at the bar. It's me and my son Joe and Tony was there, Tony Travato and his family and stuff. And we're waiting for a table. So I pull this with Joe and he doesn't get it. So we were down in Tampa and my son, Joe does a morning radio show there, the Joe show on FLZ in Tampa. And so we'll go into places sometimes and it's very busy. And I will say to him, I go, Hey, put your name in. They may know you from listening to the radio. And I said, every now and again, if there's a wait, which there was tons of weights at places, cause it was spring break. Everybody was there. I said, you know what? Get up on the list a little bit. Right? So we're there. And I said to Joe, go, go, go ahead and do it. he does not like doing it he's not like me i don't like waiting i'll be like hey i'm jay towers sit me right now so we're standing at the bar and we're getting drinks and i noticed from a distance this bartender kind of looking over at us and i'm like joe that's a listener of yours and he's like no dad no no no it's all embarrassing stuff this kid by the way he should have been a freaking he's so sweet and he should be in telemarketing or something like that where Nobody can see him. It's like, what is he doing? Go introduce yourself. Go make, you know, make a listener, make a, make a friend. He doesn't do anything. And then all of a sudden she comes walking over. I go, here she is. She's a listener. She comes walking right up and she goes, oh my God, are you Mojo? Oh, no way in Tampa. For the win. Yes, sir. That is great. She had just moved from war and her name is Rachel and she's down there now. And her family's all probably sad because of, she's now tan. so it was nice to meet her she was actually cool and to her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend or however boyfriend that lives up here I don't know should have been on your best behavior I don't know I was asking her she's like yeah I moved without a boyfriend I'm like oh good for you coming down to Florida gonna meet a Florida man

00:03:39 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 1:

let me ask you this real quick this is totally off topic I don't know where you're going I have no topic going What would you have done if Chelsea didn't want to leave Arizona and come here?

00:03:50 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 2:

What would I have done? I'd be in Tucson right now. So you wouldn't have came. At 93.7 KRQ and probably getting a side job working at Jim Click Ford.

00:03:59 - 00:04:00 | Unknown:

Okay.

00:04:00 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. Why?

00:04:02 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 1:

That's just interesting. When you, like, she moved. I wonder if they had the conversation of, hey, I'm moving to Tampa. Are you going to come with me? And maybe that was why they broke up.

00:04:11 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I was wondering how you jumped. Yeah, my fault. The girl, the man, it actually was talking about. No, no, no.

00:04:15 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 2:

That's interesting. That's an interesting point. I think that she won. I think that I don't know their full story. I probably shouldn't be giving out any more information. But I'm assuming that they might have had like a little bit of a distance that happened. And she was like, I'm getting. No. Oh. I think she might have moved for a purpose. Yeah.

00:04:32 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 1:

Oh.

00:04:33 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 2:

So these people that get up and do that, I sit there and I think to myself, God, I wish I was them. Like, not that I want to leave my family or anything like that. I wish I had guts to be able to just go, I'm packing and leaving. yeah and these people that go up and do that and i ran into a ton of when you were so you're in

00:04:47 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

florida also right i met in fact i want to shout uh luana from rochester i met her her daughter and some of her daughter's friends and then also the two ladies that screamed out of their minivan at me when i was riding my bike and you scared the crap

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 1:

out of me to the point where i fell off my bike um you guys were great and i knew you she was like we love mojo in the morning and it's so random you're in florida like you just don't think

00:05:09 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 3:

so that was yes but yeah did you meet any former former detritors that are now living down there or working down there or are these all vacationers that are vacationing for spring break all vacationers are they because there was yeah i i could not believe how many people relocated like it was wild to to bump into some people and we were staying so so i stayed like in the clear clearwater area tampa clearwater st pete area yeah and ran into like a guy at a car wash so it was it was kind of funny joe and i were going through the car wash went through the car wash the guy had an old english d and i go he from i i see i'm that guy yeah anytime i see somebody and they're wearing like a lion shirt i'm like go lions like i'm like the guy in and i sit there and have these conversations and i go uh i should probably just be quiet but people love if you're from Detroit, you love talking to us. That's a fact. Detroit. I met a lot of people from Grand Rapids, too. Met a lot of people that lived in West Michigan and grew up in Muskegon, a bunch of people from Muskegon, and they said that they took buyouts and stuff from where they were working. What's up, Kelly?

00:06:18 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 1:

Hi. I heard you guys talking about upping and moving, so I had to call. It's a long time. Hey, Kelly on the phone.

00:06:26 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 3:

Did you do that?

00:06:28 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 1:

So I did. I sure did. I'm from Chicago. So I moved from Chicago to California. I married a military man. And then we got divorced five months later. Oh, my gosh. Did you stay in California for a little bit? I did. Funny story. I met someone else. And we've been together 13 years. And we have three kids. And we moved to the kids. So you were supposed to make that move.

00:06:51 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 3:

Just not for the first guy. So you met somebody else in California. and then you moved to Michigan? I did, Grand Rapids. Okay, so what, wait, what got you to move to Michigan? Is the guy from Michigan?

00:07:05 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 1:

He is, Grand Rapids, yeah. His family's from here, so.

00:07:07 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 3:

Oh, you're cheating on Chicago, huh?

00:07:09 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 1:

Well, it's cheaper here than there. It is. It's nicer, too. And we're killed with Cook County, Texas. We could not afford it with two kids.

00:07:19 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 3:

You know what's funny? So, I don't know if you know this, but I actually, my all my family's back in in the chicago area and stuff okay yeah and when you were and when i was raised in chicago you grew to be raised to hate uh detroit the red wings anyway well red wings tigers you know what i mean yeah all these guys okay so just just the hawks

00:07:42 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 1:

just the hawks are my i'm hockey okay like so you actually still you can have any other team

00:07:47 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 3:

accept that team so you love that patrick kane is now a red wing don't you and the cat you're

00:07:53 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 2:

welcome yeah y'all can have y'all chicago love friends somewhere else let me ask you this question i mean because y'all moved you you and your ex-husband got divorced in five months after moving were you guys okay and then something crazy happened at the five months or like were

00:08:07 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

things kind of rocky before you even move that's a whole nother tin of worms kev like that i could write a book like that's a whole thing it was not good someone else got in the way like it was

00:08:18 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 3:

oh geez well yeah and he was in the military you probably were gonna have to move around a bunch

00:08:23 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 1:

if you guys stayed together yeah well actually he was medically gonna be discharged anyways so

00:08:29 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 3:

um yeah it's it's kind of it's kind of first off let me just say this to you i love love florida i think florida is beautiful it's wonderful i don't know if i could live there there's a little weird people down there they're like they are kind of weird like like yeah like florida remind florida kind of reminds me of going to the well no california people are a little snooty florida people like they need some dental work sometimes oh my god there's a little bit of there's a little bit of you know and they date their brothers and sisters and stuff they're kind of a little bit But they're fun. They're nice people.

00:09:06 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 1:

Okay, that's wild that you say that because, yeah, trigger. Yeah, it's fun.

00:09:13 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 3:

I like it. And people cannot drive in Florida. I don't know if you drove when you were down there. I'm from Chicago.

00:09:20 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 1:

We know how to drive.

00:09:21 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Well, people in Florida, they'll cut right in front of you. They cut you off. I mean, they're nuts. I mean, they are insane. Chicago or Midwest drivers are aggressive drivers. but we're not aggressive and stupid you know so yeah i tell my kids um to watch out for everyone else except for you yeah listen i i have to tell you the funniest thing ever was uh joe's got me convinced that there's alligators all over the place so we're at joe's apartment and joe he lives right next to the bay like his apartment's really literally up right on the bay and so joe jokingly is like he's like uh dad when we walk to the car you

00:10:00 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 1:

got to be really really careful because occasionally the alligators would crawl underneath your car for a warm spot and sometimes my friends have gotten bit wow by alligators okay so he's telling us this story and he and and he's like you know and i'm freaking out i'm like literally you know looking underneath the thing his apartment manager guy goes hey did you hear about the guy that just got bit by the alligator and i swear to god and joe was like i gotta move i gotta move now joe Joe thought he was being a joker kind of messing around with me, you know, being a...

00:10:33 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 3:

But it really happened.

00:10:35 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 1:

And he ends up... And by the way, you know what? Anybody from Chicago knows this. He was being a jagoff, right? We know that word. Yeah, we do. All right. Well, thank you for the... There's no jagoffs in Grand Rapids, Kelly. No, no, never. All right. We love you. A couple, actually. All right.
