Yesterday I had kind of an interesting one. I wanted to go and do a little holiday shopping, a little Christmas shopping, and I had a moment happen to me that I don't know if any of you guys have ever had. So the malls, by the way, are crowded. I can't believe how crowded they are.

Insane.

And it feels like, honestly, that's what it should be, right? It should be Christmas. We should be out in the malls. Well, I stopped off in the Detroit area. It's a place called the Somerset Collection. It ain't a mall. It's a collection. It's a fancy place. They've got every store probably known to man in there. And if they don't, they'll probably have it opening soon. And I don't know if you guys ever get faced with this, but I have my parking spot when I go to the mall. I know exactly where I'm going to park if I'm going to go to either the south side or the north side of the mall. If I go to the north side of the mall, I park over by the Nordstrom's entrance there where it's lower underneath whatever the parking deck or whatever, yeah. The parking deck right out in front of where the men's shoe department is. That's my spot. And then on the other side, on the south side, I have an area that I like to park in that is kind of towards what is, I don't even know what the department store is. It's one of the fancy ones, either Saks or Neiman's or whatever it is.

Can I be honest?

Yes.

I'm just really impressed. You know which side is the north side versus the south side.

Oh, believe me. You know, I don't know why I know that because somebody asked me one time what side we're going to meet on. And I said, the rich people side, because we were going over to P.F. Chang's and they go, that's the south side. And I'm like, oh, I call it the rich people side because you go there and it's like all those stores are just very rich people. So and the other side, honestly, is pretty rich people, too, but it's not as rich as the other side. You know, they got they got stores that maybe some of them might be affordable and they have a food court. And I like the food court there. Y'all know y'all don't bought stuff from that side. Stop playing. Oh, I listen. I'm going to tell you something. I bought you something from that side. Still ain't seen it. You want to see it?

You know, I show it to you now. I have bought one thing from the rich side. One thing. And it was funny because as I was walking through to get to that store, which is going to surprise you. every single employee from the high-end stores walked to the front door and stood there with their arms crossed like do not walk into our store really well they have security they have ropes out in front too they got the ropes to keep you out no i was going to sur la top oh yeah i was getting a pan kitchen stuff yeah it's like they're there is a good spot i forget that that's there one kitchen store in the middle of like gucci fendi product i was like and i'm going to get a pan

covid money man i was at gucci spending that thing like crazy i was like give me that bitch i'm going for it i got the g belt baby the g the g you do not own a g belt oh i got one you do now you never see it because my belly goes right over the top i wasn't aware in the nicest way please take it back yeah let me get to my let me get to my uh story here because i because i'm going to tell you guys i think that you guys can relate to this and if you can't you'll have to tell me whenever i go to the mall i cannot go to the mall and park anywhere else i mean i've even gone before where i've driven all the way from my house which i live like 30 minutes or 35 minutes away from this mall i'll drive all the way there and if my parking spot's not open or there's nothing in that area i go right back home i don't i do i won't park anywhere else i will not park by the way in the parking decks i don't like the parking same it really

pisses me off that they even exist i don't know why they exist it's so dumb but i'm the kind of person where i won't even park where it's convenient for the store that i'm going to i park in the same place every time oh yeah it's across the mall because you know why because we're

creatures of habit and we know exactly where our spot is and we know exactly and i always feel like i know it's going to be open well yesterday when i went it wasn't open and i was so thrown by this and i i'm like all right i'm going from side to side going somebody's got to be leaving here sometime soon and then I finally I'm like all right screw this I'll come back on another time anybody ever do this and it's not so much the mall it could be anywhere do you do this at work

do you do this at church on Sundays do you want to know where I do it so I I am not usually a creature of habit when it comes to the mall or target or anything like that I am very superstitious about where I park when I go see Dr. Werner the show gynecologist oh or Kelly Ceci my hair stylist at One Society for two reasons. And the Dr. Werner thing I have done since I got pregnant with Lucy, I've parked always in the same spot. Now, he threw me for a loop last year because he moved buildings. So I have a new spot now. But it's like I am so scared that something – I will get bad news if I don't park in this one specific row. And if there's not a parking spot there, I can't. Like I will go to the very, very end and kind of make my own parking spot. and I'm the same way when I go get my haircut. I feel like I'm going to get a bad haircut if I don't park in this one specific area.

It's so dumb. I cannot deal with it. I don't like it. I don't like going somewhere else. I feel like it changes my day here at the radio station. I still haven't found what our parking spot is. I'm trying to figure it out. So far, I've taken second spot over in our parking lot. Yeah, you pissed me off.

no lines. It was amazing. That's awesome. If you want to go shopping, go between those hours.

Well, that is a dream come true, by the way, because I've been to Great Lakes before where I felt like I had to park in Pontiac and it's in the malls in Auburn Hills, Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. That's a crazy one. I get scared for some reason in that mall. And the reason why, there's two reasons. One, it's a scary mall. But the other one is, I hate that it's one of those circular malls where you have to walk around the entire mall in order to get to anything. And I don't like carpeting. Why is it they have carpeting on their floors?

Yeah, but they have all the good outlets. They have all their short cuts, so it's to cut through Forever 21 to get to the other side.

So I hit our first house. We lived in. We had roommates. And I came home one day, and someone was parked in my spot. and I totally had a meltdown and parked around the corner and came home crying. And my boyfriend, who's now my husband, he had no idea what was going on. I should note that I'm diabetic and my blood sugar was low. But he thought I had gotten carjacked. We couldn't tell him where my car was. It was a total mess.

What was your blood sugar like dealing with all that pain of them parking in your spot?

I was just a disaster. Like I said, it's just irrational. Seriously, someone was parked in my spot, and I literally parked around the corner. It was ridiculous.

I've been in radio since I was 18, and I'm 54 years old. A long time.

What do you do for a living?

I'm a truck driver.

Okay, imagine being a truck driver for 25 years, Mojo? Yeah. 25 years? and then all of a sudden they put you in a brand new car, right? And instead of having pedals, you have buttons. And instead of having a gear shifter, you have to do the microwave. Great analogies. Like, they switched up how he operates every phone. The phones are different. All of the drops are different.
