Bungie on the morning show. Got a lot coming up this morning on the show. If you would like to say hello, always feel free to send us a text at 95500 or call 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. If you do, by the way, when we're in the midst of talking about something and you've got something to add and you do send us a text, answer your phone when you get a call back from a number that may say out of the area or may say iHeart because that might be us calling to ask you to come on the air and talk to us. So we'd love you to do so. It's Mojo on The Morning Show. So yesterday I ended up having to get out. I didn't get home until 5, 30, 6 o'clock, something like that. Left in the morning, came home really late, had a really nice lunch with Shannon. We'll talk about that coming up here in just a little bit. And then I ended up having to meet my son, Luke, out to go get him a thing to wear for two proms and a graduation. So I had to figure out how to go about doing this. Is Mr. Popular two proms? Isn't that crazy? Well, first off, I did not know this, but the kids at his school don't like wearing tuxes to prom. They just like wearing suits to prom. So there was like no tuxes So I was kind of like looking forward to the idea Of going and just renting a tuxedo You know what I mean Because I remember going

00:03:46 - 00:03:50 | Speaker 7:

President tuxedo President tuxedo

00:03:50 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 2:

Was that what the jingle was back in the day

00:03:52 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 7:

I think it was And you would have to match I remember going with my high school boyfriend And I would want his cummerbund Is that what it's called Cumberbund and his bow tie to match my dress So I would bring a little swatch from my dress You were such nerds

00:04:06 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 2:

He wanted, so he wanted just a black suit, and he said, I said to him, I go, well, you know, because he's really mysterious about who he's going to prom with or if he's asking anybody to prom or what he's doing, and I said, do you have a date? And he says, yeah, Dad, I got a date. I'm sorry, his voice. Yeah, Dad, I got a date. And I said to him, I go, oh, okay, and he goes, yeah, and I got, I'm going to her prom too, and I go, oh, you're going to her prom too, so she's not somebody from your school. And he says, no. And Luke goes to a Catholic school. And I said, where does she go? And he wouldn't tell me where she goes. He goes, the public school. And I'm like, oh.

00:04:43 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 7:

The Catholic school. You're taking the public school girl with you.

00:04:49 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

And I said, so what do we have to do as far as colors are concerned? And he goes, green. So for some reason, she's wearing something green. I'm not saying it's for some reason, because I don't know. But she's wearing something green.

00:05:00 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 1:

wearing green, which is perfect because that's his school of colors because he goes to Notre Dame. And I said, okay, so you want a black suit? We're going to get a black suit for that. I'm trying to figure out how to change things up, and he gives me nothing. Parents know this. Honestly, if you're somebody that's Luke's age, if you're 17 years old, you know this. You hate talking to your parents. You know what I mean?

00:05:21 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 2:

What do you mean you want to change it up? Like you want to get him something different, stylish?

00:05:27 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 1:

Well, he's going to her prom, so he's going to wear the same thing to both proms, you know, because I don't think she's going to wear the same thing. Right. I understand that. But do you change the shirt up? Do you change the ties up? What do you do? You know what I mean?

00:05:37 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I don't think there was that much, you know, available in terms of.

00:05:41 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 1:

Well, thanks for telling me now. I don't know. No, I really didn't. I didn't know. But like you said, matching ties and stuff like that.

00:05:47 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 2:

So they still do that?

00:05:49 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 1:

Well, they do. Yes, I think they do.

00:05:50 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:05:51 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 1:

So long story short, I say, well, what is, who's this girl and what's going on? And he goes, tell me if you think this might be a load of crap. He tells me she doesn't have an Instagram. Okay. It's a load of crap. What? What? Come on. What? What 17-year-old or 18-year-old does not have an Instagram?

00:06:18 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 3:

One that doesn't want you to look at it.

00:06:20 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

Exactly. So he won't do, you know, okay. Because I said to him, I go, okay, well, you know, What is she Who is she What is Like we never met her We don't know her We have no clue about her Have nothing about this All right Wondering

00:06:34 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 2:

Smart kid

00:06:35 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 1:

You know And honestly I started thinking back to my Myself And I started thinking When I used to make up Fictitious girlfriends all the time And I thought Oh my god Maybe he's got a fictitious girlfriend Maybe this is like his You know I'm dating You know And don't say Nancy From the Chicago Bulls Lover Bulls thing Because that's a true story I swear to you

00:06:52 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 3:

Two days in a row Great word choice Which, what did I say? Fictitious. Fictitious.

00:06:59 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 1:

Thank you, Megan. Good.

00:07:01 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

We are an educational program. I don't want to hear anything different. I'm trying. Burgled.

00:07:05 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 2:

Burgled.

00:07:06 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 1:

Burgled. That was actually a good one, too, yesterday, Megan.

00:07:09 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 2:

Wait, so did he show you a picture of this girl eventually, or what? Does she exist?

00:07:13 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 1:

So we are at the mall. We went to Somerset, and we were at the mall, and we're doing the shopping thing, and I was really, you know, having a good moment with him and, you know, kind of being, like, low key. I didn't want to be like pushy dad and pain in the butt dad. So I didn't press it. And then we went home afterwards and we were hanging out and Chelsea made dinner and we sat down at dinner. And he showed Chelsea and I a picture of this girl, of public school girl, I'll call her. And I don't even know what her name is because he won't tell us her name because he knows I will look her up or I will have one of you guys look her up on social media. But very pretty girl. So very pretty girl. I don't know what the story is. I have no clue. He doesn't share anything. Are there any teenagers going to school right now, whatever, who will not tell their parents who they're dating or who they're going on a date with? What is the story with this? Why would you not tell me? It's Mojo from Mojo in the Morning here.

00:08:12 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 3:

You just answered your own damn question. Why? Because it's our show. We're literally talking about it right now.

00:08:20 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 1:

Would you be embarrassed if I was your dad?

00:08:22 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 3:

Yes.

00:08:23 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 1:

Why? Because I would talk about it on the radio?

00:08:26 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 3:

Yes, and you'd call him.

00:08:27 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 1:

No. Well, he's done with school, so he had a sleepover at a buddy's house last night. So I'm not going to call him there because he's probably sleeping.

00:08:34 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 2:

Are you going to meet this girl? Aren't they going to do pictures or something? I would hope so. So you will meet her.

00:08:38 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I would hope so.

00:08:39 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. You're going to have to be on your best behavior.

00:08:41 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to try.

00:08:42 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 2:

Do you need a chaperone? Is Chelsea going to be with you? Chelsea will be there.

00:08:45 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 1:

Chelsea's actually good about keeping me in line and not giving me too much crap. You know, she doesn't, she's good at towing the line of not making me feel like crap, but also not embarrassing Luke. Like, she's a good mom when it comes to that, and she's a great wife when it comes to that. But I will say this to you, I know that somebody has info out there that can give me some info. And I want to know what the info is. All right, here's the question I want to ask. I want to ask this question. Why are you so mysterious with the person that you're dating and your parents? Why will you not tell your parents about that? That's good. Like, you know who else is a mysterious person about the person that they're dating and stuff? Some of the people on this radio show.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my gosh.

00:09:27 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 1:

We're all looking at the same person. Wink, wink. Kristen.

00:09:34 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 2:

Am I really? A.K.A. K.P.

00:09:36 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

Now you know why you don't have me as a dad, right? It'd be embarrassing to have that. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. All right, it is Mojo in the morning show. We're just talking, and we've got five lives to tell your mom coming up here in a second. We were just talking to, you know, everybody here. on the show I guess I wasn't talking to anybody but you guys but you guys are good people so I love you guys thanks appreciate that we were talking about how my son will not tell me anything like he won't give me any information and he's going to prom with a date but I have no information about who this date is or what it's all about Connie are you there yes I'm here how you doing

00:10:22 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 3:

connie how old are you connie i am 29 years old okay so were you like this i in the beginning i was but i have like cousins and friends that are like this and they want your approval so they don't want to disappoint you because i know my parents have high expectations yeah so they just don't want to they want your approval all the time i give them my approval all the time i always

00:10:49 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 2:

approve of anything that he does do you think he won't approve of this girl and that's why he's

00:10:55 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 3:

being so secretive maybe maybe or he thinks you're gonna announce it on the radio well i think it's

00:11:02 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 2:

that it's the latter yeah i think it's he knows that mojo is you know has a thing for asking lots of questions and sharing to you know only a million people or so and or he doesn't know if

00:11:15 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 3:

This is going to be long-term, so it's not even worth getting to know.

00:11:18 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, but I'm going to meet her when we do the pictures. Yeah. Julie, what's going on?

00:11:23 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 4:

Hey, Mojo. Hey, what's up? Hey, everybody. Hey. Good morning. I was laughing so hard because this literally just happened to me last year. My son was a senior, and he is very secretive. So it's hard for me because my daughter, who's older, would tell me everything. And I don't know if that's a girl thing or what. But the son tells me nothing, nothing at all. So we finally get to date to go to prom, and we're like, who is this girl? He goes, oh, nobody you know.

00:11:55 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 1:

That's exactly what Luke said.

00:11:57 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm like, well, does she go to your school? Yeah. Okay, well, who is she? Nothing, nothing at all. So fast forward to, you know, prom, prom day. And I'm like, well, you know, we're going to go to the park We're going to meet all the group You know, we're going to take pictures And we literally had to track her down And introduce ourselves And I was like, hi, we're Nate's mom

00:12:29 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 1:

How did you find out who she was? There's a million girls that are all there Did you just look for somebody without a date?

00:12:35 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 4:

They were all hanging out together, the group And she was in the same color that he was in And I, you know, looking at them and, you know, they were looking at each other and everything.

00:12:45 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:12:46 - 00:12:46 | Speaker 4:

So.

00:12:46 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 1:

That's how it is. But, yeah. So was she nice? Was she nice?

00:12:50 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah. She was absolutely beautiful.

00:12:53 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:12:54 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 4:

Very sweet girl. And then they end up going to college together.

00:12:59 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 6:

Oh.

00:13:00 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 4:

The same college and everything. And they're still friends. And, you know, I just think it's funny weird because he won't tell us anything, you know.

00:13:08 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 1:

Here's the biggest thing. I just don't want her to think that Chelsea and I don't like her Because we don't know anything about her And hold on a second, my wife's on the phone Julie, say hi to my wife, Chelsea

00:13:17 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 5:

Hi, Chelsea Hello

00:13:20 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 1:

Did that not sound like a conversation When Julie and her son with me and Luke Talking to Luke sometimes Is like interviewing Kristen Stewart The actress They give you nothing But, Chelsea, what's going on? What are you calling for?

00:13:37 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 5:

But the funny thing is, is that we do know her name because he has said it.

00:13:42 - 00:13:43 | Speaker 6:

He has?

00:13:44 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 5:

Yes, more than once. Okay. And you just are not listening.

00:13:48 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 6:

Oh, wow. I love that, Julie. Julie.

00:13:56 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 1:

I love that KP just gave me the... Yeah.

00:13:59 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 5:

And he showed us a picture when I asked.

00:14:02 - 00:14:10 | Speaker 1:

Listen, I know he showed us a picture. I saw the picture. I did say that, but who doesn't have an Instagram? He thinks I'm going to do a deep dive, doesn't he?

00:14:11 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 5:

Well, he should know the better in both of you than you, number one.

00:14:14 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:14:15 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 5:

He, and he met her through his best, one of his very best friends, and it's his best friend's girlfriend's best friend. Oh. That's how this is going down. So there's more to the story than you are making up in your little mind over here.

00:14:32 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 1:

Are our kids embarrassed of me?

00:14:33 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 5:

yes no hesitation without a beat but you do know you just haven't listened I know a couple of times

00:14:47 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 1:

has he already said that I'm not invited to go to prom pictures because I'm going to prom pictures

00:14:51 - 00:14:55 | Speaker 5:

you almost are not invited I mean you're getting there

00:14:55 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

oh crap alright well I'm hoping

00:15:00 - 00:15:16 | Speaker 6:

I usually, the thing is that Luke is the, out of all the boys, Joe shares the most. Jacob obviously did not share with us his big news, you know, of being gay. So that took a while to come out, but he shared a little bit with me more than Luke does. Luke shares nothing with me.

00:15:16 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 3:

Like, I don't get, I don't get. You're just not really, I think you're, you want this big hallmark moment and that's how boys are. They share little, little, little, little, and then you just have to add it up in your head and then ask the right questions, and he'll answer.

00:15:36 - 00:15:43 | Speaker 6:

Listen, I was literally trying to clothe the kid yesterday for his thing. I knew nothing about his date at all or what was going on. I was doing my best.

00:15:44 - 00:15:46 | Speaker 3:

And you did a great job.

00:15:46 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 6:

Thank you. Appreciate that. All right, we'll talk to you later. You don't have a, wait, you don't have a boyfriend that you're not telling me about, are you?

00:15:54 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 3:

I probably told you several times.

00:15:56 - 00:16:20 | Speaker 4:
