It's Mojo in the morning show. So quickly here, just for a second. I was thinking about this, that yesterday we were talking with kids to send shout-outs to their moms for Mother's Day, which, by the way, our most downloaded podcast yesterday.

Yeah, I think it was a lot of families and stuff that were downloading that podcast, which if your kid was on that, you got to go check that out. It's on our podcast page, Mojo in the Morning. But this is going to be Chelsea's last Mother's Day with Luke at home.

So he's going away to college You know this fall And so this will be her last Mother's Day Where he's like officially At home and there Because of you know more than likely I mean I know school will let out But he's not going to necessarily be home For Mother's Day So it's her last child at home And I was kind of like thinking about How it is really sad And I know that she's been going through.

Well, can I tell you? Can I be honest with you? I have something planned for her aside from Mother's Day that I'll talk about later of what I'm going to do for her. Okay. Chelsea.

I don't want to. You're driving right now, so don't veer off the road when I say this to you. But I was thinking about this, and I didn't want to say it to you, but then I thought, you know what? This is too good for potential radio content.

This is your last Mother's Day with a child at home.

I think he'll be home.

I understand, but this is the last one. He's going away to college.

Yeah, that's true. I mean, hopefully. We haven't graduated yet.

He's got a week till graduation, so he graduates next year. But the reason why I wanted to call and talk to you on the radio just for a second here is I wanted to ask you.

you a question as a mom who's raised three sons and I wanted to ask specifically about Luke but kids make things for their moms or they do things for their moms you know they might you know I say something to you that becomes memorable I wanted to ask you what's the most memorable thing about Luke growing up over these last years?

Well, I think out of all three boys, he definitely is the sweetest. He'll always say, Mom, you're so pretty today, or you look pretty. He's very attentive like that, very, very sweet and kind. They're all sweet and kind, but he is definitely the most out of all three.

And do you remember when he was a little boy? Do you remember, like, reading books to him? Do you remember, like, what book you would read when he was a little kid?

His favorite book?

Yeah.

He liked everyone's food.

That was his favorite? Of course.

Yeah. And The Giving Tree. He liked The Giving Tree.

Yeah.

So I'm not going to cry. Is that what you're trying to get me to say? No.

It's not that I want you to cry. But I think about this because I can't remember, you know, I remember going into his room at night and reading to him, but moms remember specifically the books that they read, which order that they would do them in, how he wanted to go to bed, like all those things.

Yeah. The President, that was another one. He loved the book about the President. He'd have to read that one every night.

Yeah. And with being a mom to him over these years, and of course, Joe and Jacob too, what's been your best part of being a mom? Like, what's been the best thing about being their mom?

I guess that knowing that they're mine, I mean, and seeing how they treat other people and when they're nice, you know, hoping that that's a reflection of the stuff that we've given them, we've taught them.

Yeah. You're not going to get me to cry. I'm not trying to get you to cry. i kind of am but i'm trying not trying to get you right through you no but i know that this has been like a really really rough time for you i think you're gonna be the one that's gonna end up crying in the phone well no no but i'm talking about mother's day this weekend and i just want you and i just wanted to say to you that i thank you for what you gave me but i thank you for what you gave everybody that has ever met and i know more probably have met joe than they've met anybody else especially with this radio station with him working here and stuff yeah but i thank you what you gave matt gave you know everybody with jacob and luke too um because it truly is a reflection on you as what you've done as a mom thank you and i think that that's incredible so and shannon asked me what i'm getting you from mother's day and i was kind of hoping you're going to cry because i was going to give you the audio of this but i have actually something other than that planned that kind of involves this, that I'm going to give it to you, and then Monday I'll come back and I'll talk about it on the air.

So, and then we're also doing something special for Chelsea, and I kind of hinted it to her yesterday, but we're having a retirement party for Chelsea.

Oh, my gosh, that is the cutest idea.

So we're going to throw a retirement party for her because she's officially retiring from being a... I love that. Being mom, getting her kids off to school and all the rest of that stuff.

I love you so much and thank you for what you you do you know for for me too so you mother me in a lot of ways all right love you I'll talk to you later be safe driving I don't know where you're going but please let it be somewhere that's not going to cost money but I was I thought about this uh yesterday a lot because honestly i was trying to figure you know that those kids that were speaking to their moms and saying what they love about them that's like pure heart you know when a kid sits there and says like the little the little boy that called up yesterday and just said i just think she's pretty like to hear that out of him and then hear chelsea just say that was amazing but the thing and this is the part that is so tough the thing that is to me the most emotional and she's right I'll cry more than she will cry is that all three of the boys got to have and still have chelsea longer than i've had my mom because she my mom passed when she was 14 or when i was 14 and i think about how i truly believe that in certain respects god blesses you because of what you feel like you had taken away from you and i think that that because Because he blessed me with somebody who, Chelsea's, like, my, she, I would kill to have had Chelsea as my mom. And I know that my mom handpicked her for that reason. So.

Well, I hope she's listening. But I kind of doubt it. I think she probably picked up another phone call or something. But, and I love, honestly, I will say this. The one thing that I do love the most about our listeners is I've had listeners literally over the course of the last couple of days who know that I lost my mom when I was younger, sending me messages of, hey, I know this weekend's going to be a tough weekend for you.

Yeah.

And I appreciate that. That means the absolute most to me. And KP's taking a goddamn picture of me right now because she wants to post it on social media.

Okay. Wow. Are you going to do anything special just to kind of go back and reflect on the memories you have of her or to honor her on Sunday?

I'm going to try. My kids, you know, want to go to her grave site, and I don't know. It's just, it's very emotional. Yeah. So we'll see.

Yeah, I just wanted to say that I totally feel for you, Mojo. My mom passed when I was 11, and I have a fiancé, two kids, and I wouldn't be the person that I am today without her. And I know that my kids aren't going to be the kids that they're going to be without her either because she's a strong, powerful, loving, amazing woman. And, you know, Mojo, I totally agree that my mom definitely can fix her to be in my life. And that's just something that moms do when they're not here. They still look after us, you know.

Don't you think that that's the most special thing in the world to know that out of every person in this world, you got this woman who probably has all the qualities that your mom wanted in your wife?

And it's funny because I feel like I hear my mom speak through my fiance on a daily basis. I thank my fiance every day for being the woman that she is and being the woman that she is for me and my kids.

But then there's a moment that all of a sudden comes to you that makes you then have, like, a moment like I just had just a second ago. You know? Yeah, where you get kind of a little bit emotional. But I do know this. I know that your dad is another one of those ones that's there with you all the time. And you've got to almost love the fact that you know you have that angel with you.
