Can I tell you that as being in this business, we've met a lot of musicians and celebrities. Lionel Richie might be one of just the kindest, nicest humans you could ever meet in person. Good. Such a good one. Yeah. Yeah. And years ago. But like, there's only a few, everybody gets excited about who we meet and everything, but we could tell you like 80% of them don't meet your heroes. If you really like somebody, don't meet them because you're going to be let down. We've talked about that. Megan and I were just talking about that at the Pistons game because there's certain people we idolize, but we don't want to meet them because we've heard it might not be the experience you want it to be. But I can tell you, like, without hesitation, Lionel Richie, Ed Sheeran. Oh, Ed Sheeran. Ludacris, when he was in here a couple times. Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters, the coolest human dude in the world. I mean, just so kind. And there's only a small list of those celebrities walking the planet Earth that are normal and cool in real life. Like, this weekend.

And an hour later, there's 100 people crowded around this court watching because it's like, is that Adam Sandler? And then he just walks home.

So they're opening up that guy's, what's the chicken place?

Yeah, I'm so bad that I was a crazy chicken or something like that was called the chicken. It's called the chicken guy. Yeah, you're right. The chicken guy. It's going to be on Plymouth between Merriman and Middlebelt in Livonia.

There's going to be a bunch of them by the end of the year.

And friends, you know, are opening it with him. And so I get a chance to do a Zoom call with him. And I was running late to the Zoom call because I totally forgot about it. And I was having lunch with my wife. So I had to leave lunch, go into my car, and do the interview for my car. He could not have been nicer. He was such a good guy. And it's funny because his job started helping businesses, small businesses, be put on the map.

Remember what he did for the union in Clarkson? Yeah, and during COVID, not just with the TV shows where he promoted all these great small restaurants, But then during COVID, he started a fund, a charity, and helped with millions of dollars. He helped keep a bunch of restaurants open that otherwise would have shuttered.

I'm glad he's a good dude because I feel like he gets a bad rap sometimes. Like people treat him like the Nickelback of celebrities. Yeah, you're right. For no reason. There's no reason to not like this.

There's no reason to hate him except he's flamboyant and a little quirky. And I've heard people criticize him because he's not a master chef. and, you know, and, oh, when they record the show, he's not really driving across the country. You know, they'll bring his fancy car in on a flatbed and put it in front of the restaurant. Yeah, well, that's called Hollywood. Like, obviously, there's a cost of making shows. They're not going to send him driving 3,000 miles.

And no man has done more for local businesses than that man has.

So can I tell you on the opposite end of the spectrum, the one that was most disappointing to me was James Corden, that James Corden turned out to be a complete a-hole. Did you meet him?

No. You're talking about stories. No, the stories

about him. First off, he stole from every radio show his bits. Because every radio show was doing these bits beforehand, which I don't mind because everybody steals entertainment bits. But then you'd hear stories that he was not a great guy. And I was bummed because he looks like, kind of like how Guy Fieri is. He looks like the everyman. Yeah, he looks cool.

cool you know so but i'm gonna keep it positive here and just ask for you to tell me the ones that are that you think are just awesome because like there are three women that are the trifecta that i talk about with my girlfriend all the time that i always say oh my god if i were single i would i i would try to date them in a heartbeat betty white she says so would i i know one of yours and mila kunis mila kunis yeah emma stone and jennifer lawrence they are just the coolest chicks in the world like they just seem like they would be so down to earth and awesome i would i want to be their best friend i have crushes on them they just seem like they'd be really cool

How about this? Country artists that wear cowboy hats are nice people. The ones that wear the baseball hats maybe not so nice.

There's some that have... There was one that was in the news last week for berating his bus driver. I can't think of who it was.

Oh, I saw this.

And he was just trashing this poor guy and really the stuff he was saying was horrible.

Yeah, it was Clay Walker. I will say this too about celebrities and stuff. Hockey players are always the nicest guys.

Of all the pro athletes, hockey players are always the nicest.

I've met Sinbad. He's a comedian. Yeah, no sin bad. And I'll be honest, I've met many artists and actresses, but it's how you approach them. You can't go screaming and hollering, gnashing and teeth if I look like you're about to attack them. You know, you've got to be mindful.

Any artist that performs at the Hollywood Casino, you know, in Kalamazoo is a nice artist.

One of my theories is that the older celebrities have had their ups and downs. They've been humbled because they've been through decades of no one caring either. And there's people like Sinbad or Lionel Richie or when I met Tony Bennett, who's like 90. He was the nicest because he also had 20 years of nobody caring about Tony Bennett. He only had a revitalization in the 90s. But through the 70s and 80s, nobody would even book him for a show.

He was bad to my wife's grandfather, Danny, when he did it backstage. Was he? He was really kind of mean and stuff like that.

See, I took my ex-in-laws backstage to meet him. He was so kind.

And then remember what he did with Chad when Chad was doing the old Mojo in the Morning liner?

Oh, my gosh.

Well, yeah, he was a little grumpy then. Yeah.

But every, I mean, people are allowed to have a day.

My nice celebrity is Toby Keith. Oh, that's nice. He was doing a concert in town in Michigan, and my brother-in-law was working at the concert. And he said that Toby Keith stayed around hours after the concert, making sure that all of the fans got pictures or autographs from fans to janitors and all the way up.

Love that.

I love that, too. Every single person. He didn't turn anybody away.

You know who you ask if a celebrity is nice or not? You ask the backstage people at Pine Knob. Yeah. Those are the people. The servers. Because the backstage people at Pine Knob will barbecue with them or will hang out on their trailer.

I'm told not to look at them directly in the eye, depending on who it is.

I had that experience with Clint Eastwood when I did that, when I was an extra for the movie that one day, and he came down and ate with the crew and with the extras and just talked to everybody, just sat there, and it was like, it was really kind.
