We've all been there. We've had seasons that have shaken everything. The question is, what remains when the shaking stops? Hi, I'm Gary Valenciano, and on my podcast, Unshaken with Gary V, I sit down with amazing personalities and we talk about the seasons that nearly broke them, the lows that carried them to their highs. Listen to Unshaken with Gary Vee on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

It's showtime!

00:02:24 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

all right it's mojo in the morning show all right i want to talk about this and i want to ask the question then afterwards why is it that people need to always and no matter what the circumstances invade your space so i went to uh should i say the name of the place or will they get mad at me i endorse it the name of the place has nothing to do with the story though okay yeah so i went to planet fitness yesterday uh and i'm at planet fitness and i came from work and i was i was kind of dressed okay so i had i wanted to change into my you know my clothes so i wanted to change into my shorts and my shirt so i go into the locker room and when i go to planet fitness it's usually at a time there's nobody at planet fitness it's mid days right it's like one o'clock two o'clock in the afternoon and you go into the gym are you going to the gym the gym's empty you go into the locker room the locker room is definitely empty and i go inside there to go change my clothes and i'm changing and i'm down literally down with my pants all the way down taking my shirt off i'm standing there my big old hairy body and stuff and i'm changing a guy walks into the locker room with his big old beefy gym bag and he comes sits exactly right next to me like there's this is you guys have been to a planet finish you guys know how big the gym locker rooms are they're very very large you can go to the bathroom you can do everything i mean there's so many places that you could go to the guy chooses to come and sit right next to me i'm like all right whatever this has happened to me before i'm putting my pants on i go and put my shirt on and i go to sit down because i got to put my hocus back on oh because i sit down on the uh on the seat and i look over next to me and the guy's d is right there like he's like yeah i don't understand men's locker rooms and i'm gonna say this to you i have no problem with men's genitalia i've got one i've seen them before i'm cool with it there's nothing wrong with it i just don't understand and this is not a topic of why is the guy completely naked in the locker room. This is the topic of and it could go either way. Why is it that when I go to Kroger and I stand in the line and there's five or six other, you know, cash out yourself Yeah, it's up.

00:05:00 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 6:

self checkouts why does the person always have to stand right next to me drives me crazy you know

00:05:06 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 1:

what i mean for me it's not it's not the locker room and it's not the self checkout it's the treadmill oh that one really really drives me nuts they always gotta fight for the same treadmill right the only thing i can think in my head is okay maybe they have a favorite treadmill a favorite spot and so no matter if somebody's right there or not they are going to that specific one but i'm always like why especially if i'm the only person on and they come right up next to me

00:05:31 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 2:

oh i don't like that i hate when you're the only person on and they come up right up next to you but when it's like mid-level busy at planet fitness i kind of get it only because they have certain things on certain televisions so you might want to watch something yeah like it's

00:05:45 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 6:

but when the place is empty go too over and again this is not just a planet fitness thing oh this is anyway you're right you're right because why is it when i'm in the bathroom in a public restroom, say it, Ford Field for a Lions game. I'm at a urinal. Why does a guy got to choose the urinal right next to me

00:06:03 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 5:

instead of choosing a urinal too over? You can't choose it. It's got to be some human instinct or something inside of us that we gravitate towards other people.

00:06:12 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

That's the only logical. You know where else this drives me nuts is in parking lots. Whether it's busy or not busy. If you park and then somebody parks right next to you when you're trying to get out of your car, And, like, get the kids out of the car and open your trunk. And somebody's right there.

00:06:29 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 6:

What do they say? Leave a space for the holy. For Jesus. For Jesus. Yeah. Ethan, what's going on? Why is it that the guy's got to put his D right next to me?

00:06:40 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 3:

I have no idea. Maybe he just doesn't value his own personal space. Be like we do. I've been going through this for the past couple of weeks. I thought it was just a me thing. But I love my personal space. I use, I was just hearing you guys talk about it, but I use the men's journal rule, like, everywhere I go.

00:07:00 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:07:00 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

Like, so I was just at Edge Fitness over on home, and I'm on the stair climbers, and there's, all of them are open. I make sure that I count out which one I'm on so that everybody can have, like, a space when people come up, and this guy walks up on the one right next to me, like, excuse me, sir, do I smell that good or something?

00:07:23 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 6:

Right. I don't get it. It just does not make any sense, man. It's a personal space thing. Misfit Victor. What's up, Victor?

00:07:34 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 7:

What's up, guys? How are you? Morning, man. I used to work at this restaurant in Commerce, and we had a calendar that had nine empty seats. And one of our customers was sitting at the seat there by himself, and this lady comes in and sits right next to him. And this guy was like my, you know, my he looks right at her and goes, eight bleeping empty seats and you got to sit on top of me. And he gets up and moves to the other end of the counter. And she goes, well, I don't bite. He goes, you might. And goes, what?

00:08:14 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 6:

He spoke everything that you wanted to say. By the way, that does happen a lot if you ever sit in counter seating or in a bar. I don't understand that, too. Like, why do they have to take the seat right next to you? Prior to, like, imagine and having, like, reserved seating, you used to go to the movies

00:08:31 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 5:

and everybody wanted to sneak into the middle and get the closest one. It's getting worse. It's like, sit, like, one row back if you can.

00:08:37 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 6:

What's up, Jason? Or, real quick, Jason, in a movie theater, Jason, real quick, back in the day, I hated the guy that would have to sit right behind you or right in front of you. Bro, go away. Like, sit one over. What's up, Jason?

00:08:49 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 4:

Hey, what's going on, Mojo? I feel you on the bathroom thing, man. I can't really remember where I was at, but there were like 16 stalls, and I was the only guy in there. And, you know, I'm doing my business. Here comes a guy, lo and behold, stands right next to me and, like, turns his head and starts talking to me. I'm like, dude, I don't know you.

00:09:12 - 00:09:14 | Unknown:

What's going on here?

00:09:15 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 6:

And you know what the funny thing is? I'm a friendly guy. I'll talk to anybody when you have your pants on. You know what I mean? Yeah. I have no problem having a conversation with me, but I want to make sure you've got your pants on at that particular time. Wait, is this Brian still? Brian, are you calling back again? It's Ryan. Oh, Ryan. You got me scared. I thought it was...

00:09:45 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 2:

Please be single.

00:09:45 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 6:

What's up, Brian?

00:09:48 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, so in junior high, we had these bathrooms by the lunchroom, and there was a urinal right next to the actual stall, and people would always kind of come in and use it.

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 1:

Well, you know, I guess I was peeing and I would get mad and I would, you know, piss on their, pee on their foot as they're used in the bathroom.

00:10:06 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 4:

I take back the single thing. I take it back.

00:10:09 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 1:

Now you want to date him?

00:10:10 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 5:

Now you want him to be single?

00:10:11 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 4:

No, you missed it. I wanted to date him at first and then he said he pees on people and now I'm out. And as Barbara would say on Shark Tank, I'm out.

00:10:21 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 3:

That's middle school me, you know.

00:10:24 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 4:

I feel like that urge just stays with people, you know what I mean?

00:10:28 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 5:

Oh, that's awesome. Thank you for the call, buddy.

00:10:30 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 4:

It's a shower.

00:10:31 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 5:

Bye.
