Mojo in the Morning Show Happy Friday Man, I tell you what Last night, being out and raising some money for a great charity Also comes with a little bit of drama Because they had a silent auction Which was one of those really cool You can bid on your phone and kind of like keep track of things. You don't have to sit there and like fight for the pen to put your name on it thing like they used to do in the old school way of these silent auctions at charities.

I get real serious about these silent auctions. And very competitive.

And the craziest is that with the new technology, you don't know who you're bidding against because you don't see their name at all.

Right. And you also, so if you consistently refresh the app, you can see if you've been outbid, but it doesn't send you a notification or anything. At least I didn't have notifications on last night. So you had to keep going in. Like there were a few things that I was bidding on. You had to keep going in to see if you were, you know, getting outbid on something. You guys all witnessed me doing this. Lydia was with me most of the night. And there was one item that I wanted so badly last night, Mojo. And it was the deputy for a day prize. Because my five-year-old Smith would just have freaked out to be deputy for a day. So I thought, okay, this would be a great donation.

So for those that don't know what the event was, the event was put on by the sheriff in Oakland County. And so you could actually be his right hand, you know, man or woman.

For a day, for an entire day. It would have been such a cool, cool thing for Smith to do. So I bid a few times. I got outbid. I was checking it, you know, a lot at the beginning of the night. So I bid a few more. I thought I had this thing won. And then at the end of the night when I went back to check and see, you know, what I did win and what I had to go to the little table to check out on and cash out, I saw that somebody had outbid me for deputy for a day.

Oh, and Smith was not going to be deputy.

I was so mad because this is how I get about this stuff. Come to find out the person who outbid me was our boss, Colleen. Oh, no. And it was so funny how it happened, too, because I was sitting right next to Steve Gabara from Zot Ford, and she came up to him and she said look at the prize i just won my daughter is gonna get to be deputy for a day i turned to her and gave her the death stare oh i go i was trying to win that prize and she goes i knew i was bidding against somebody and competing with somebody for this i just didn't

know who it was i said it was me the funniest thing was she wasn't even at the event she was at another event that was downtown detroit yes the saint francis center yes and she drove all the way to auburn hills which for grand rapids and toledo i mean it's like almost an hour 45 minute drive a 50 minute drive just to screw me because she wanted that thing so bad she wanted to make sure she was there to hopefully claim it and all the rest of stuff right only to see shannon the look on shannon's face she was like i can't believe i didn't get this thing only to find out that, it was the boss that was the person that got it. I usually got on the microphone at one

point and said, nobody. Just so you know, you're up against me for this item. I wanted it so bad. But she came in last minute. I know. She spoofed in. I will F you up, bitch. I can't say that to my boss. I wanted to in my head, but I can't say that to her. You said it to her in your head, didn't you?

No. You did. By the way, okay, so here's my just random question on this whole thing. Has anyone ever been so mad that somebody did something only to find out that the person that did it was the boss like did you ever get so mad that you know somebody I don't know took your parking spot or somebody took the

the the last you know slice of pizza at the the picnic or something like that and you get so pissed that the person did that and then you can't do anything that that was pretty much what your feeling was last night yeah knowing funny and poor and the thing was i could see how disappointed you were because you were so focused on that and that was like something cool that you could do for smith like you know for like a birthday gift or whatever yeah and then the sheriff actually saw that you were so disappointed and so the sheriff decided that he would have two deputies so colleen's daughter and your son are both going to be dual deputies dual deputized on that particular day yeah did i ever tell you the story the dave pew story here no oh my god i gotta tell i was not here when he was the big boss so dave so dave pew david pew oh i remember this guy uh and actually i believe it or not i actually like the guy i didn't like working for I liked him when he was no longer here, when he got another job and went somewhere else.

You liked him as a person, but not as your boss.

I didn't even know if I liked him as a person, but I liked him when he was afar. He was actually kind of considerate. But he used to get so pissed off at the morning show and got so mad that he made me park my car, not in the spots that we all park in, right? We all park in the side parking spots. The guy made me park my car in the back of the building next to the dumpster. Why? Because he was not happy with the fact that I took a parking spot from a salesperson and he thought that my car was too nice of a car and that I should have been driving a less nice car.

Did he not realize that it's a safety thing for us to park there so in the middle of the night we can just walk in that door?

Believe me. We went through that whole thing. And we even actually, the funny thing was, because it was way back when, when Sarah was here on the show, because we had said that. So then he compromised and said that Sarah could take one of the further spots from the door, but he wanted the salespeople to go there and be right next to him. It's so funny how different things are, you know, nowadays with the, like, Colleen. I mean, Colleen would probably honestly have given you that deputy door.

Colleen is the best boss ever. I obviously am just joking, but I did give her a stare down yesterday.

But it's so funny, though, how sometimes with bosses and stuff, you know, sometimes you don't realize. And then sometimes you kind of put your foot in it a little bit with your boss. Be careful, by the way. This is another one, too. Be careful when you get cut off in traffic anywhere within five miles of your company. Because if you flip off a person that cut you off in traffic, it might actually be the boss or somebody that is close to the boss. It's not a good idea.

Are you speaking from personal experience there?

Well, Noah, do you remember the story about, who was it? It was one of the big higher-ups that came here to town, and they rented a car, and they were coming to the station from their hotel, and it was, somebody cut them off, they didn't know where they were turning, you know how our driveway to the building here kind of sneaks up on you?

Yeah, you can miss it.

So they didn't know where the thing was, so they were kind of slowing down, whatever, And the person that was driving behind him laid on the horn, just went crazy on their horn. And then that boss pulled into our driveway with the person who laid on the horn being one of our traffic people here at the station.

I would have circled the block.

I'd be like, I'll come to work about five more minutes late. I'd rather be in trouble for being late to work than actually being in trouble for blowing the horn at the bus. There's a backup on 96. It's me honking on the horn at my boss. Exactly.
