00:02:00 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 5:

So how hooptie is your hooptie? KP was telling us this morning about how her friend finally got herself a, and we put in quotations, new van because her old van was so hooptie. What did you guys have to do to listen to the radio?

00:02:16 - 00:02:39 | Speaker 2:

So we had to use a portable speaker in order to listen to anything in our car. Whenever we were going somewhere or pre-gaming or anything not in the car but just like on the way there that bluetooth speaker was just bumping because her her music system was who held the speaker was was there somebody that had to be the official holder of the back seat so everyone can hear yeah yeah that's always thing

00:02:39 - 00:02:43 | Speaker 5:

because it's a loose speaker just kind of sitting around there you know we typically had like you

00:02:43 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 2:

know people there's like little coolers people sitting on stuff and just like chilling back there but she just got a a new van and she is so stoked because i can't tell you how frustrating it is to circle your plans around someone who has a vehicle that can't make it like i'm talking 20 minute drive can't make it like this big red van is not allowed on the freeway can't make it and i'm so happy that she got this new car we were uh me and a group of girls were going to breakfast and we were exploring Betsy's new car. That's her name. And we were just like, wow, this is so nice. Look at the seats. Is it a sunroof? No way.

00:03:24 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 5:

Was it a legit sunroof?

00:03:25 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 2:

Yes. It's real. Yeah, call Nikki Yor. It was a real sunroof.

00:03:29 - 00:03:36 | Speaker 5:

Wow. So she finally got herself a new car, which is new to her, right? It was somebody's pre-loved car.

00:03:36 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 2:

It was her uncle's car.

00:03:37 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 5:

Oh, that's nice.

00:03:39 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 2:

So, yeah.

00:03:39 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 5:

Don't you love when you get the hand-me-down from the relative that doesn't put enough miles on the car?

00:03:45 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 2:

The hand-me-down that you still have to pay for from the relative.

00:03:48 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 5:

Right. They actually charge you for it. And you're like, wait a second. Uncle actually is doing better. He doesn't need to be charging. You know what's funny about this? Whenever we have talked to people or have been out at remotes, my favorite is going out to one of our events. And a car pulls up. And that car is making all this noise. You can hear it from a mile away.

00:04:08 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 6:

Everybody in the place turns around.

00:04:10 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 5:

They turn around, and the person gets out of that car, like, climbing out the passenger side window. You're like, man, I want to party with them, but I don't want to have to get into that car through the window because I don't know if I can fit through that thing. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. I want you to show off your car that you're currently driving right now. who's who's driving a car that that's because i think the speaker you know having that little uh portable speaker is not as bad as what our listeners probably are driving at this particular

00:04:46 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

moment remember the one year we're giving away a car gordon chevrolet and we found out the winner her car died on the way to the contest and she had to get it towed the rest of the way oh yeah we're like oh my gosh if that wasn't destiny yeah like she literally couldn't even make it to

00:05:00 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 3:

the contest to win the car yeah that's that uh you know what that was actually interesting too because i think that gordon chevrolet took it right to the junkyard at that particular uh time uh okay i wasn't gonna play life as a highway but spike always makes fun of me for that no i'm gonna do this one here i'll play i'll do i'll do ride with me here you go all right here we go mojo in the morning spencer hey what's up guys what's going on show off your hoopty what What kind of car are you driving?

00:05:32 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 2:

I used to have an 83 Cadillac Eldorado, and KT was lucky to have a Bluetooth speaker. We kept a literal boombox in the back seat with spare batteries.

00:05:42 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 4:

Did the whole car rumble like, when you played with that boombox? Oh, yeah.

00:05:48 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 3:

I heard boomboxes are back. Is that true? People were talking about how the big old retro boombox. My daughter's fascinated. Everything retro.

00:05:56 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 8:

So are record machines. Record players. Record machines. Second machine. Okay.

00:06:03 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

Sarah, what's going on? How you doing?

00:06:06 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 5:

Good. So, I was just listening to the radio, and it brought me back to some traumatic memories from when I was in college. So, my car, when I was in college, had a toolbox and had, like, a fabric compartment thing in it that had a ratchet strap and a bunch of tools in it because the driver's side door didn't stay shut. So, I had a ratchet strap that's shut. Oh, gosh. And then the drivetrain was, like, broken, but still worked enough to drive, like, 10 to 15 miles an hour. And so I'd, like, make all of my routes around Grand Rapids specific without a hill, without an expression.

00:06:40 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my gosh.

00:06:41 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 5:

It was pretty bad, but there was a rule. If I was driving, no one could say anything about my car because I was driving.

00:06:50 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

That's true. That's true. By the way, did you ever fear that you were going to fall out on a quick right turn?

00:06:55 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 5:

You know, I didn't, but that's only because I had that door ratchet strap shut tight. Yeah. Good.

00:07:03 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

I love it. What's going on, Michelle?

00:07:06 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 6:

Hi. My mom had an 89 Dodge Caravan that the windshield wipers didn't work, so we had to tie belts to each one, and we would have to pull in unison to clear the windshield. Yeah. I was 16 and embarrassed Every time she took me to school Or something like that Because it was just horrible

00:07:27 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 3:

You know what though It built character in you Michelle

00:07:31 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 6:

Yeah

00:07:32 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 3:

What do you drive now

00:07:34 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 6:

I drive a 2016 Acadia

00:07:38 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 3:

See that now I bet you you take better care of that car Because of what you had to go through as a child

00:07:44 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 6:

Oh most definitely Yeah

00:07:47 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 3:

00:08:10 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to throw out a little plug for her My friend Mona Mona Saad Over at Gordon Chevrolet Is up right now for the Detroit Free Press' Best of the Best Award for the best car salesperson. So she's actually in the running right now, and she's at this very moment, the votes are starting to come in for this because the voting started today. It goes through the 21st. Will you guys do me a favor? Will you go on there and vote for Mona? So it's under salesperson. That's nice.

00:08:40 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 1:

You think there's got to be at least 800 car salespeople in this.

00:08:44 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

There's a bunch of them, yeah. Yeah, but she's one of the ones that got nominated. So Mona from Gordon Chevrolet, go vote for her on the free press's best of the best. She's the sweetest. Do you guys know that she delivered a car to Joe in Florida? Wow. Yeah, delivered it, drove it down, and took his car and went back. I mean, is that the same thing? I thought it was crazy that she delivered it to me in West Bloomfield, but she actually delivered.

00:09:12 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 8:

Did she just want some sunshine?

00:09:13 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

She just said she loves Joe. She treats Chelsea and I and Joe, Jacob, and Luke like we're her family. So she wanted to take care of us. So Joe got a brand new, he calls it I Heart Red Blazer, Chevy Blazer. And I told him, I said, why did you get I Heart Red? And he says, in case Bob Pittman comes in, he knows I'm a team player. I'm like, you are such an ass kiss.
