We'll be right back. Welcome to the Mojo of the Morning Show. It is good to have you guys here with us today. I know this is going to sound crazy to say, but I think this will be a more restful week.

I'm telling you, I think between Friday and Saturday of last week, I think that we probably worked um and definitely not hours wise because we had a lot of fun but it was it was probably more exhausting don't you think friday and saturday was then monday tuesday wednesday and

thursday i realized i stood both days from like the minute i woke up until the minute i went to

bed i was standing legs were like oh my gosh how it last week you were talking about your uh your steps how many steps did you end up getting did you get a lot of steps i didn't look this

weekend because the steps weren't in a straight line they still count though but you know what's funny my hand really hurt i couldn't grip the steering wheel on the drive yesterday back from west michigan and i was like why is my hand hurt so much did i hurt it what did i do and i was like i wasn't really drunk like then i realized i was holding a cup or a bottle for 15 hours each day literally just constantly holding a cup in the same having my hand in the same exact position

Well, I will say that, and also, did you not feel like – I took my glove off a couple of times to try to pick things up because I couldn't use my phone or do things or take a picture, and you take it off for just a second on Saturday. It was so cold. It felt like you had –

frostbite because it was like 20 degrees the snow was kind of bursting through um and people were still there it was amazing the crowd so the guy from uh that does the uh the entire irish and is it shame yeah so we were walking out it was shannon myself lydia megan uh wes and we were We're leaving to go get something to eat. And as we were walking, Shane screams, is this a mojo? And he stops, and he comes over and talks to us. And now let me just tell you the stuff that he had to face for this thing on Saturday. The weather was crappy. The people over at Channel 13 the night before canceled the thing. They actually went on the news, canceled it, and posted on their social media that it was canceled.

Did we even say we're talking about Irish on Ionia? Irish on Ionia. The largest festival St. Patrick's Day of the year in Michigan.

So they literally closed down Ionia right there in Grand Rapids, and it's just loaded with fun bars and stuff, but they set up tents and they have stages and they have music. I mean, it literally is great.

But according to TV, it was canceled. They canceled it. They were like, how are we going to spread the word to people that it's actually happening?

And the craziest part of it, they blamed it on an intern. which which i can't tell you the last time that a radio station or tv station has actually had interns right i mean throw them under the bus we're gonna say it was an intern so as an intern that made the mistake so shane said guys thank you so much thanks to uh all the iheart stations and of course snx and uh john and mike and tim and dave and everybody over there that everybody it did such a great job um the that the word got out and people still came and the pre-sales were amazing and holy cow people want to party and they don't care they don't care what the weather is

like at one point i looked over and the line to get in was i mean wrapped around around the blocks because i think it went down and yeah and i'm like i feel so bad for all these people because I mean the snow was blowing like you said it was Frigid it wasn't even cold it was frigid And it was cool once you got into the bars And the tents and stuff but waiting in that line Just had to be brutal

Yeah it was fun It was so much fun And the other you know Thing that people had to deal with If anybody was coming from Anywhere it could have been from West Michigan Or from the east side of the state the weather was so bad that the drive in you would be driving and everything was completely clear and nice and you know just cold and then you couldn't see in front of your face it was white out blizzard like conditions so i drove in on saturday shannon i know you drove in on saturday lydia kp drove in on saturday we were the dumb ones spike and megan were the smart ones they They stayed, you know, on Friday night.

I was worried about you guys because when I woke up and saw the conditions, I thought, oh, my gosh, are they going to make it safely?

I wasn't because I don't care about any of you. Thank you. You're welcome. You're so kind. Just so we're clear. So I left early because I wanted to get to the kegs and eggs broadcast that Mike and Megan and Schmitty were doing. So I left my house at 630. I'm driving on 96. I'm going through Nova. I got my coffee in my hand. I felt I was like so excited. It was like everything was awesome. And then all of a sudden, I get to Lansing, and I am freaking out. I've got one guy in front of me. It's completely white out. I'm following his taillights. I'm hearing, I'm going, oh, my God, we're off the road. We're actually on the shoulder right now. And then I tried to figure out, am I on the right shoulder or the left shoulder? So I said, all right, I'll turn over to the left. So I turned over to the left, and I could hear the passenger side still going. I'm like, oh, good. Okay, I'm back on the road. And then I realized I'm going to put my hazards on because the people behind me are starting to freak out. And it got it got nuts. And it was it was dark, you know, that early in the morning. So then when it cleared up, you still didn't know if it was going to still all of a sudden keep snowing because you couldn't see. It was just insane.

It was insane. I was the one driving because Wes had some work to do while while we were making the drive. And I I mean, I had my hazards on for definitely half of the ride. And we finally made it to Grand Rapids. And I'm like, I need to take something. I was so worked up with that drive. I didn't know if we were going to make it. At one point, we pulled over because we just couldn't even see anything. Not even the person in front of us that had hazards on. It was so bad.

It was insane.

It was so bad. I don't think I've ever driven in weather like that before in my entire life.

Never.

I think I drove one time to Chicago in a big snowstorm, but it was, like, not like that, like whiteout. The thing that was interesting was the roads were clear, like, because the snow was just blowing, but it wasn't sticking at all. It was weird. It was, like, the weirdest thing ever. But it caused for, now they're saying, 150-car pileup that happened on 96. And I got some news report on this or some people speaking on this. This was the Ionia County Sheriff Department Lieutenant Jack Peters explaining what happened.

That bridge is not a great spot to have accidents. I've had policed accidents there before with fatalities. So today we don't have any fatalities, and I'm grateful, extremely grateful for that.

Yeah, as you were coming into downtown, into Grand Rapids in Portland there, near Portland, there was a 150-car pileup.

both ways both sides they had eastbound and westbound and like he said there's just it's so rural it's not easy to get to and it's not easy to get people around

the uh an eyewitness who was actually in the accident the guy was part of this accident uh harlan uh medallin medallin uh speaks roads were clear traffic was moving you know full speed 65

70 miles per hour and within a matter of moments it just it just turned white wow do you realize

Guys, this was hours after we had gotten into town. It's amazing. We could have been in it. Man. And it's really wild to think this. And actually, it's funny. Tony Travato was going to come in at the time when this accident happened. So he was going to come visit us, and he got held up at home by something that happened. Something broke at the house, and he had to fix it really fast. And he didn't come. He would have been in that accident. It would have been right in the middle of the thing. So when we got there, though, before you guys, I think it was before you guys got there, but really early there was the band playing with the, one of them was the violin and the other was the guitar. and we brought our dog and everybody pushed us to the front of the crowd to bring the dog up and so we raised him up in the air and everybody in the tent was oh my god that's awesome you had

a mascot for the entire day what's wait what's your dog's name aries aries so aries was there the people were you could scream and anything out to people they would make noise for anything You could scream, you know, ice cream.

And another thing, too, is we were at Kennedy's as well the day before, and we got the necklaces that had the shot cups in it. Yes. So we brought them around, and we filled it up with water, and he was taking shots with us all day. Oh, my God.

Aries is a partier. Maybe Aries needs to be, like, the official Mojo in the Morning party mascot.

So this is cool. So you guys came out to both of our Friday broadcasts and then Saturday broadcasts.

Oh, yeah. I kept telling my girl, I was like, we got to go. I love these guys. I listen to them all the time. We got to go. I kept forcing them. It doesn't matter. It's 5 a.m. We got to go. We got to go. So are you detoxing today like the rest of us? No, I got to work today.

Well, yeah, of course. But we're still detoxing. But do you feel like we were talking about, like, between Friday and Saturday, it felt like we ran, like, three marathons.

Yeah, it was intense, especially waking up at 5 at Kennedy's. And then we couldn't even make it out to the second place that you guys went to. We were just so, we were so tired.

Question for us on getting into town. Did you guys drive in like we, like some of us did on Saturday? Or did you guys go in?

Yeah, we left at about 7 in the morning from Birmingham. and then we made it there around 9, 9.30ish. They let us in pretty early.

How scared were you during some of those whiteout conditions?

I'm not – I don't know. I wasn't that scared because the whole drive up wasn't too bad until we got into Grand Rapids.

And then it got crazy.

Then it was like – it was crazy in Grand Rapids.
