Mojo in the Morning Show. Kev had a very unusual holiday. And when I say unusual, it was unusual in the fact that you hosted the holiday, but you didn't host the holiday. Explain it.

00:01:27 - 00:01:49 | Speaker 4:

I mean, it was a little sad because obviously Sherelle and I are done. But she went to Atlanta with Jern to have Thanksgiving. So it was a completely different Thanksgiving than what I thought I was going to have. And the previous Thanksgiving, Sherelle has done all the cooking. And Sherelle can cook. She be throwing down. It's fire. I knew this year she wasn't cooking. So I was kind of like, damn, what I'm about to eat. By the way, you sound a little harsh when you say.

00:01:49 - 00:01:58 | Speaker 3:

Like, Sherelle and I are done. Done. Like, it doesn't sound good. How am I supposed to say it? You say, unfortunately, or whatever. I mean, it may sound a little bit more, you know.

00:01:58 - 00:01:59 | Speaker 2:

Sherelle and I are no longer together.

00:01:59 - 00:02:00 | Speaker 4:

All right, you're right.

00:02:00 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 3:

It was a, oh, my God, Sherelle. All the things. The only thing you sounded sad about during that whole time was that she wasn't cooking.

00:02:07 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 4:

No, I am sad. I woke up Thursday morning. Man, what, no, breakfast? I was sad. It was, it was, not that I'm sad. No, listen, listen, listen. Listen, no, listen, listen. The breakfast symbolizes, it's what the breakfast symbolizes. Not just the fact that there wasn't a meal. You know what I mean? It was the family atmosphere. You know, you smell it. It's like, oh, it's family time. You are so good. I'm serious. I'm serious. That's literally where my heart was. That's where my heart was. I don't say what I mean oftentimes. And that's because sometimes my passion overtakes, and I know exactly what I'm trying to say. But communicating is a different thing. Anyway, so yeah, so a family member, because I haven't confirmed that this is an okay topic for me to talk about. and I would hate to, like, you know, get a text message or have a difficult conversation later. So a family member said, okay, you're still hosting. I'm like, okay, cool. The family member said, I'll buy all of the food. I'm like, uh-oh, even better. Got the food for Motor City. I got to get y'all some Motor City soul food. Bang it, right? I've heard so much about that. Bro, I'm talking, we had the yam. We had all the things. All the things were there. The person said, I want it to just be us. And when they said, I want it to just be us, I knew exactly who they did not want to be invited. I read the room and I said, okay, bet. I'm not extending any invitations beyond the legend. It's just us. Even though it's at your house. Even though it's at my house. Okay. Okay, but I'm not buying the food. So in my mind, it's like, I can't be the, this is my house. I can invite who I want to invite. I have to kind of be subservient in this moment and say, hey, I'm going to oblige your request because I want to eat. so said person who was not among the i wanted to be us crew calls somebody that's there i can hear them that's how loud they are on the phone this person's not on speakerphone you know people talk so loud you can you got to pull the phone away from their ear i can hear the person trying to make a big deal about no they didn't invite me and i sent the text all this type of thing and i kind of felt bad but at the same time it's like should i feel bad and that person was saying but it's his house he should decide who comes in and i'm like does he does this person normally

00:04:15 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 2:

come to events that you host at your house i believe they were there last year but i think it's super inappropriate for them to reach out and say why didn't you invite me and i agree with that that's so uncomfortable and so like if i could have or would have or whatever don't put me in this situation we can talk about it later privately but like don't do it in front of other I know it wasn't technically in front of other people But if the phone was out loud and they knew But if you're not paying for the food I don't think you get a say in this Would you have invited that person Had the person who was buying the food Not said we don't want this person here

00:04:52 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 4:

I'm not a big hey come over Type of person So I probably wouldn't have But it wouldn't have been like intentionally If the person You

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 3:

had to say can i come over it would have been like yeah but now you're the bad guy yeah because

00:05:05 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 2:

they think that you didn't invite them now i don't agree with that but in their mind you are the bad guy uh first off isn't the holidays about bringing people together i feel you but it's expensive not

00:05:18 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 3:

only that though like there there is an amazing there's an amazing connection when the yams and the macaroni and cheese touch you know what i mean but there are certain things that don't work that will together and even though you would hope that the family coming together would be this joyous occasion yeah they're just some people that you know don't mix and then it's not enjoyable for

00:05:37 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 2:

anybody exactly so if kevin's have if kevin's hosting the party this is the question to ask you 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 if he's hosting the party under his roof of his home that he's paying for the heat on and those are his couches and all that stuff if he's hosting it but he's not buying the food does he still have the right to invite people to the party or does he the person who's ordering the food have the right i mean i guess they could have come over and just not ate

00:06:06 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 3:

and you bring up an interesting point i think it was megan who said that's more money that you have to pay the person who bought the food and it was a lot of food it could have fed a few more people to be honest but the person i was gonna ask you the person who bought the food only bought you know for the ones that they wanted to be there can i can i ask another follow-up question yeah for

00:06:25 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 6:

sure you pay for the food in this hypothetical situation are you inviting both of them or are

00:06:30 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 3:

you inviting one i'm i'm gonna invite both but then i'm gonna have that conversation separately of hey this is what's gonna happen this is who's gonna be there respect the house but you know

00:06:40 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 6:

and the person who bought the food then doesn't come and the person who wanted to be invited comes

00:06:44 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 3:

yeah probably but even if both of them are there the person who bought the food is not going to be themselves yeah they're going to be quiet and meek and like they're not they're not going to fully

00:06:53 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 2:

Kobe, what did you want to say?

00:06:56 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 5:

Hey, if he, if he, it's his house. He's paying the bills at this home. So if he's saying, I don't feel comfortable having this person over due to whatever the reason. So his house, his rules.

00:07:08 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

But Kevin would have invited them if he paid for the food. It's so the person who bought the food doesn't have to say so, you're saying.

00:07:16 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 5:

Well, he bought the food. Okay. Well, in this case, the person who bought the food trumps Kev.

00:07:21 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 2:

Really? Yes. It's his house though.

00:07:23 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 6:

But Kev went into this saying, I'll host, but I'm not cooking. That's not a holiday. That's a venue. The venue doesn't get to decide who the bride invites. Exactly.

00:07:34 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 2:

Good point. So they're just renting out space, basically, from Kevin. But they are his tables and chairs and stuff like that.

00:07:42 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 6:

The venues.

00:07:43 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 2:

Mojo in the morning, hello.

00:07:45 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 5:

Hey, I want to know why Kev didn't invite his dad.

00:07:48 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 2:

Oh, damn. We hear no. Did mom buy the food and mom didn't want to? I'm not saying any of these things are true, but I'm not saying any of these things aren't true. By the way, why did you have to go there? He already knows.

00:08:09 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 6:

I did not get that. I didn't want to know, man.

00:08:11 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 2:

Why did you do that? You don't have to do that.

00:08:14 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 3:

Oh, no.

00:08:16 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

Seriously, that is not nice of you to call him out like that. And by the way, Kev's dad was at my house. What's going on? How are you doing, Hannah? Hey, how's it going? Good, I'm good. What's going on?

00:08:27 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 1:

I was just saying that it sounds like a common problem in my family's house, too. It's like the sister drama or the family drama always ends up on the kids.

00:08:38 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 3:

So how do you handle it? Or how would have you handled this situation?

00:08:42 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 1:

Well, I usually just text my cousins. And in this case, I would just invite everybody. I mean, I'm more of the merrier kind of person. But if they got drama, then they got to save it on their own.

00:08:53 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 2:

Isn't this the holidays where we're all supposed to love each other? No. We're all supposed to be there for each other? Absolutely not. We're supposed to have people. We need to love from a distance.

00:09:01 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, exactly. I'm not inviting fights into my home for the holidays. That's what you're asking.

00:09:08 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 2:

Jay, what's up? Baby Leg Jay is on with us right now. What's up? Miss Baby Leg Jay.

00:09:13 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 5:

Hey, what's up, people? What's up, people?

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 4:

How y'all doing?

00:09:15 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 2:

What's going on? Do you guys have issues in your family like this?

00:09:19 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 4:

No, I ain't tolerate none of that.

00:09:22 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 2:

So if it was your house, would you let the person who bought the food dictate who was coming to the table?

00:09:29 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 4:

No, because for one, that's my house. Yeah. That's my house. Now you get the feed. You have feeding, but when it all boils down to it, that's my house.

00:09:39 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 6:

Okay, so now that person isn't bringing the food. So everybody's going to come over to your house for the holidays, but all we're going to do is sit and stare at each other.

00:09:46 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 4:

And it's really good food. Hey, hey, we all know how to cook.

00:09:51 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 3:

nobody would have been over that's the thing

00:09:55 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 2:

Kevin would be door dashing

00:09:56 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

me and Joe in Sweetwater that's what it would have been

00:10:00 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. I love Jay going, man, this is my house. I want to talk to his family and see it. I think most guys would be like, this is my house. Until it's your mom telling you. The first season of the X Games League is ending in New Orleans, and only one team walks away champion.
