Hey, everybody. I'm Tariqa Foster-Brasby. What's up, y'all? I'm your girl, Cheryl Swoops. When you tune in to a new episode of our podcast, Levels to This, you're definitely going to get some spicy WNBA analysis. But we're more than just hoops. And the real conversation is what we actually bring.

00:00:21 - 00:00:32 | Speaker 8:

It's been really, really cool seeing kind of these women just really step into their power off the court and understand that they are basketball, right? And they're not asking for permission.

00:00:33 - 00:00:42 | Speaker 7:

Listen to Levels to This with Shroes Hoops and Tarika Foster-Brasby on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

00:00:43 - 00:01:02 | Speaker 3:

I'm Mange Shatikular, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talk to scientists, biopunks, curmudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.

00:01:02 - 00:01:07 | Speaker 1:

I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.

00:01:08 - 00:01:14 | Speaker 3:

Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

00:01:15 - 00:01:44 | Speaker 4:

mojo in the morning show follow us on instagram facebook tiktok twitter just search mojo in the morning or mojo in the morn so megan what's going on what are we talking about here is this

00:02:00 - 00:02:38 | Speaker 9:

a red flag or not because i'm raising my red flag up real high but uh somebody in my life i'm not gonna name because they deserve shame but i'll be a good person today it's the holidays bringing out the best of me said this was not a red flag and they could not be more wrong so a friend of mine is getting married and he told me that his soon to be wife so his fiance decided after they got engaged this was a few weeks afterwards she had posted photos of their engagement online and at the same time had sent DMs to her exes announcing that she was getting married she told her

00:02:38 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 5:

exes that she's getting married yes

00:02:40 - 00:03:17 | Speaker 9:

for what reason Great question. You're asking the correct questions. Unless does she have children with one of them? No! Sorry, I did not mean to get that right. I get very passionate about this because I think this girl is crazy. She's just petty. She's very petty. And don't get me wrong, I love a petty Betty. Like, I live for a petty queen. But this to me gave me icky feelings. It gave me the ick. Because I think she's trying to say, hey guys last chance last call for alcohol that's what i was gonna say it means either one of two

00:03:17 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 2:

things either she's she's getting married for the wrong reasons or two she's not over those exes

00:03:23 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 6:

see i take i take it as she just wants to throw it in their face but what like why are we so room

00:03:30 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 9:

to be right far past that you would think i love when people call me immature and then these are the people i find out are finding partners in life what does your friend think of this like what

00:03:40 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 6:

when he found out about that she did this what was what were his thoughts i love him but obviously

00:03:45 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 9:

uh it's me we're talking about men are stupid and he's like but i love her and i'm like i think your love is misguided uh but that's just me and he has happiness in his life and i don't so i don't really have room to talk on this one but i i think it's a big problem and he's like i well i just think that she was you know kind of took your side and was like just kind of bragging a little

00:04:07 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 6:

bit that she's in a better place than these guys well i i didn't mean that in a nice way by the way i'm saying like she wanted to throw it in their faces that she is engaged and has moved on and

00:04:16 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 9:

did we forget how to subtweet about people like you can brag about it but we don't tag them like

00:04:22 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

you don't send it directly to them so it's it's interesting it did anybody know anybody else that has ever done this before before they got married they did like one last call out to the people that they were in a relationship with and and told their their exes hey i'm about to go do this um and is there any reason why you would do this like is there any reason why you would call them like is there any good reason why why you would 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 if i'm him i'm a little you know feeling suspect about this whole thing yeah i'm feeling that there's something going on

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, like there's one last thing going on.

00:05:04 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 5:

And I think Shannon brings up a good point. The only appropriate time you do this, I think, is if you have kids with somebody. Well, because you need to let them know that they're about to get a step-parent. Right, right. Any other situation? Seems weird.

00:05:17 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 4:

Well, and also the other thing, too. If you had kids, they probably already knew that you were in a relationship and getting married.

00:05:22 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 5:

Right, and going to get engaged or married or, yeah.

00:05:24 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 4:

I always, have you ever seen the whole toast at a wedding where the best man says, and if you are an ex of this person, bring your keys up here and, you know, his keys to his apartment. That actually broke up a couple that I knew that I used to work with in radio because the best man did that. And actually there were a few exes that were there and one particular was not even supposed to be invited, but he insisted that they invite her and she came up and legit brought his key. It was a legit key. So, and that actually turned out to be like a really bad situation.

00:06:05 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 5:

Why am I never invited to this place?

00:06:07 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 4:

It was unbelievable.

00:06:08 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 5:

I would die to be there.

00:06:10 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 4:

What's up, Amy?

00:06:12 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 5:

Hi.

00:06:13 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 4:

Hey, what's going on? What do you think about Megan's friend?

00:06:16 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 7:

Well, yeah, I think it might be a little kind of potty. My ex-husband, who I've been divorced from for almost 20 years, messaged me out of nowhere that him and his new wife are pregnant. Why? And I don't get it, because after him and I split, he ended up with a man.

00:06:40 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:06:41 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 7:

For several years. and that split and then he met this person who's substantially younger and he's 40 41 maybe now

00:06:53 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 2:

and obviously not over you i mean that's the big thing like why is he crawling up in your dms like

00:06:58 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 7:

bothering you you're the past i don't get it that's wild i didn't respond yeah i wanted to i really wanted to like what makes you think your ex-wife cares about you and what your new wife is doing right well you should have been a better person yeah you should have responded

00:07:16 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 5:

with a who's this got a new got a new phone what's up felicia hey um i was just listening to you guys this morning we listen to you my husband and i on our way to work always listen to you guys in the morning but just wanted to say that i totally agree with megan that's weird why would you worry about what your exes think about your new marriage you should be focusing on your new husband not focusing on your exes don't you think if your ex reached out and did this to you you would be like i dodged a bullet like um yeah uh yeah i think you were a crazy person which it

00:07:55 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 3:

sounds like she is uh mojo in the morning what's up derek hey hey mojo hey you guys good morning Well, so my take on it, I think the guy is a simp. Like, it seems like he may know that, you know, she still could be possibly friends with those guys. But if I was in that situation, I would not want her contacting anyone that she used to talk to, you know.

00:08:23 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 4:

Although he would look controlling, though, if he really put his foot down and said that, don't you think?

00:08:28 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 3:

Well, yeah, I think that, you know, he should have, like, told her, like, hey, why are you contacting your exes? They don't matter. Only thing that matters is up to you.

00:08:37 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 4:

You're damned if you're due if you're damned if you don't as a guy. Because if you say something about it and, like, I don't like you contacting these ones, you do look like you're controlling. But you should be able to say, hey, I think that's stupid. And if you don't do anything, then you do – what did he say? You look like a simp?

00:08:52 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:08:54 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 4:

What's up, Jenny?

00:08:56 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 6:

Hi. I think the real question is Why did she have contact with all of them Up until that point And why did she wait I don't think it's Yeah Yeah

00:09:07 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 2:

Because she must have

00:09:08 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 7:

There were still possibilities Before she was engaged

00:09:11 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

That's the big red flag

00:09:12 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 5:

Or did she just reach out out of the blue Which is strange as well

00:09:16 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 6:

Either way Either way it's weird And he should be like running

00:09:20 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah Exactly Thank you for the call Take care of yourself I love that call the callers that we got a couple callers ago there was like the husband and wife that sit there and listen to Mojo in the morning together it's kind of like bringing couples together although could you imagine you bring topics up like that and then she side eyes him going you did this or she you know did that like sometimes do we cause fights with some of our topics possibly

00:09:45 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:
