this is mojo in the morning it's an irrational affair that shannon has had for a long time and it almost happened to her uh it did it did well and thank god nothing bad right

i i feel like we all have these fears that have been like ingrained in our brains since we were kids and this was one of them for me and i don't know if i saw it on a tv show or where i saw this But I vividly remember this, seeing somebody riding down an escalator at the mall and getting their shoelace stuck in the end of the escalator. And then like they, I don't know, they had, they couldn't get it off and they had to have their foot amputated. Okay. So this is just one of those core memories that I saw on TV. And so to this day, I jump over that little part at the end of the escalator. Do you know what I'm talking about? where it like rolls in i do the the hop i know i look like a huge weirdo at the mall or the airport or whatever when i do it i do it every single time and i think about that that tv show every single time still to this day so at the airport over the weekend my little almost seven year old smith he constantly has his dang shoelaces untied and so i'm always reminding him Smith Tire Shoes, Smith Tire Shoes, Smith Tire Shoes. I mean, he doesn't listen. So I was unaware that one of his shoes was untied. And I'm kind of up ahead of him. And all of a sudden, you know, those walking, the moving walkways at the airport. He we were on one of those. We had all gotten off. He was behind me. I hear him start screaming bloody murder and crying. I look back his little shoe. He was stuck at the end of the moving walkway. You guys, the sheer panic that went through my body. I was about to burst into tears. Then I start screaming and run over. Wes runs over. A bunch of strangers run over. And it had gotten the shoelace caught in it so tightly that we couldn't even get his little shoe off. Because that's, of course, the first thing that you want to do, right?

Yeah, just take the shoe.

So myself and someone else are yanking to get the shoelace out. And we finally got it. I mean, it ate that dang shoelace real good. but and somebody had come over as well to stop the moving walkway or whatever but can you believe that that it was my irrational fear unlocked it happened thank god it he was fine you know nothing happened to his foot but that's terrifying i've thought about that since i was a little kid

and it happened to my kid of the elevator eating the escalator or escalator eating yes yeah yeah

your laces your foot whatever it's so stupid until it actually happened you need to get him

those, I see the commercials all the time what is the shoe company that makes the slip-on shoes that Mike Tyson does commercials for I think you know the old people

And there are two things. They're on the freeway. And it's that log scene. Yes! But other than that, though, right before the log scene.

Explain the log scene for people who haven't seen the movie.

If you're driving down the freeway and you see an 18-wheeler, one of those long trucks that are chopping wood and they have like these long wooden logs that are literally like the size of trees. In the scene of the movie, I guess he hits his brake or something and the chain that's supposed to restrain these logs and keep them in place snaps and the log literally flies off the truck, goes straight through the driver's window and impales the person. so there's a fear there but then there's also a fear that i think is more i guess readily available to take place i'm a bottle water drinker and there's also a scene where the bottle of water falls from wherever it is and gets stuck behind the woman's brake so when she goes to press the brake she can't oh the bottle of water is there and bottles of water have fallen like they've fallen before under my seat and i'm just like oh my i freak out every single time like this could

be it i'm gonna die like final destination too yeah and the same as the the the logs whenever you drive by those cars haulers that are bringing cars to dealerships oh you know what i'm talking about you always think that that car is gonna like come right off of the thing and they're

always wiggly yes yeah they're not on there good casey you there yes i'm here what's your irrational fear okay so shannon i wanted to tell you i know what you're talking about that's from rescue 911 years ago um i've seen that same thing and my fear is rational with um escalators too but my fear is you know when you have a dream and you're like stuck on a bridge or the bridge is going up and your car is stuck on it yes well oh my god you guys i i have that fear and it's so weird because that bridge just collapsed you know yeah and now um this past weekend we were at cedar point and it was opening day my daughter wanted to ride the rougarou and like it was one of the only rides that was open so we go we get right on and for some reason i'm waiting in line i'm like you guys are like i'm panicking and i don't panic we get on the damn thing we're almost completely to the top of that first hill and it just stops like it just quit working oh the fear of that roller coaster stopping no are we gonna fall back like are we is it just gonna start and like our things are going to unbuckle like what is going on are we all gonna die my kids were tripping i'm a mama triplet and my kids were triplet tripping my husband was laughing at us i'm like dude this is not cool it was one of my biggest fears yeah well after about 10 minutes thinking we're all gonna die the ride just shoots forward and like plunges us into the ride and i was like oh my god thank god we made it safe but it was so scary oh that is very scary i know you

You hear the story, it's like they have to have the police and fire department come and rescue you. We're talking about Shannon's son's shoelace getting trapped in the moving walkway escalator at the airport. Brooke, what happened?

So I was traveling alone with my three children. I had a six-month-old, a two-month-old, and a five-month-old. And we were going on the people mover, not the escalator, but the people mover.

You mean, yeah, that little train thing at the airport?

Yeah, well, the escalator that's just flat.

Yes. You know? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that's what Shannon's son was on, too. Yes. Yeah. The same thing. The moving walkway. Yeah.

And my son was pooped, so he popped down on his butt to ride it, and we're getting near the end, and I'm carrying the two other, the babies, and I'm like, get up, get up, get up, and he rode it out, and it caught the end of his shorts. And sucked him in there, and I'm the same way. I tossed my baby girls down, and I'm yanking my son out of that thing. It scraped down the back of his leg. He's screaming bloody murder, but we got him out, and it was exhausting and scary, and the babies, the girls were crying, and it was a hot mess.

Did it rip his, like, pants off, or what did it do?

Yes. Well, I had to pull him out of his pants.

Really? So were his pants still stuck inside of that little escalator thing? Yeah. Wow.

His little Superman, a nurse, I'm sure.

And then everybody's looking at you like, you're that mom.

Yeah, I was that mom.

Yeah.

But what's crazy is, Kevin mentioned the bottle under the brake pedal. Yeah. Just about three months later, one of my daughter's bottles rolled under my brake pedal, and I was approaching a light, and I couldn't get it stopped.

And I rear-ended one of my husband's train vehicles.

Yeah, I had a similar story to what Shannon went through. I was shopping at Fairlane Mall, and my shoelace got stuck in the escalator, and I screamed bloody murder in the escalator. and lined up the fire department had to get me out of the escalator because it had such a death grip on my foot it was twisting my foot around yes and it ate the front of my shoe yeah the fire department had to get me out and my i was shopping with my dad and my sister at the time and my dad was so embarrassed he did not go on that mall for years oh gosh that's the thing like you think the

first thing you should do is take off your shoe but you can't because it has pulled the lace in

so tightly that you can't get your shoe off right and your foot is twisted so it's very uncomfortable but when you guys are talking about the shoes it's sketchers they have the flip-in shoes yeah

right mike tyson says sketches i use them all the time they hired him just to have him say

Do you ever have a fear of a car wash? Sydney, what happened to you in the car wash?

Okay, so this was Monday after I got out of a nine-hour workday. I live in Ypsilanti, so I went to an automatic car wash with my three kids. and as we're leaving i'm you know going back into drive and um somehow my car instead of going back i accidentally put it into park and their car wash sucked me back and as i'm trying to like go back into neutral as it's gearing down into um going back down it gets stuck in reverse I have a 2021 Jeep Compass. So I'm stuck in reverse. My shifter is frozen. It's not functioning. So I'm stuck in the car wash for about an hour. And there's like a line of dudes helping me, trying to rescue me out of the car wash. And then I'm like, my shifter was still stuck in reverse. So I literally like had to let my car like die. And they had to go to the shop. because I could never turn my car off and get it back into park because something wonky happened with my shifter, and it just stopped working.

Oh, my God. That's scary.

I had to watch a YouTube video in order to figure out how to release the shifter, and that only got it to go to neutral or drive. It never went back to park.

I bet you that didn't do great for your cars getting cleaned. Oh, my gosh. Wait, hold on one second. Somebody, which one do I grab here? tina tina's hair where did it get stuck tina so there was like this um face uh trampoline thing

like park in the mall yeah and we were out shopping for my graduation gift and i grew up in a religion that i was not allowed to cut my hair so my hair was almost down like past my bottom and um i went on this space like it made you do like upside down and side to side and you were supposed to feel like you were in space. Well, my hair got caught in the mechanism and it got caught so tight. I was screaming. They finally got the machine to stop, but it was so tight. They had to cut my hair to let me down. And at the time I was freaking out. I thought I was going to be scalped before my graduation. Oh my God. Jeez. It was the scariest thing ever. Wow. That's,

That's awful. Your hair gets stuck in the thing.

Do you remember the cabbage patch dolls that used to eat little girls' hair?

Yeah, there was a huge recall one Christmas.

And last but not least, we were talking about getting stuck on those escalators. Jeff, what got stuck on an escalator?

Oh, man. Well, good morning. Good morning. I was at Elder Beerman's in Sandusky Mall, and I had five older brothers, So I was just riding up and down the escalator, and an older lady fell, and I was on the bottom, you know, and she fell, and when she fell on me, she pinned me down on it, and obviously, you got to the end of the escalator, and this was a stair escalator, so she fell down, hit me, she landed on top of me, and, you know, I was nine, she was an older lady, and she got stuck, I mean, we got wedged at the bottom, and I had that old escalator, that

And those stripes burn into my face. Oh, my God. Yeah.

So you were pinned face down at the bottom of that thing.

Yeah, because I was going down it. And she was behind me going down the escalator. And, you know, it was from level two to level one. And she fell on top of me. And it felt so hard. Oh, my God. Wow. Yeah. It's like face off right there. And it was. It was one side. And it took a while to go away. But, I mean, I was dying. It was cool. I thought I was quite Rambo. I don't know. You know what I mean? Yeah. Wait, what was cool? The cool part that the lady was laying on you? Or what was it? Oh, no, no. I was not. I was more worried about, oh, look at me. I got war wounds, and I had five older brothers. Oh, my God. That's amazing. Wow. Well, my mom, she's been screaming, you know, trying to get all five of my other brothers, and I'm the youngest one with some old lady laying on top.
