Showtime. We'll be right back.

00:03:50 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Good to have you guys here with us. Getting ready to experience some crazy weather. I understand that the storms that are coming through, a possible tornado warning could be happening later today. So keep alert about what's going on as we're now being affected with what it seems like most of the country is being affected. It's not just like the mid-portion of the country. I mean, I feel bad for anybody that lives like in Oklahoma or Tennessee or Kansas. They always get affected by this. But I saw that there were some tornado-like winds in downtown Chicago that were blowing some stuff off of construction buildings that were going on, high-rises that were up. So we're going to be faced with a little bit of that through most.

00:05:00 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 3:

of our listening area today. Temperature is actually going to be nice. I'm looking at the forecast right now and it's going to still get wet, but wow, it's going to be warm.

00:05:12 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 1:

We could get to like 75 degrees today.

00:05:14 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 2:

It was hot going out to my car. It was weird. Yeah.

00:05:17 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 3:

There's also like a smell in the air. Our producer KP was talking about how it reminded her of when she lived in Traverse City and there was like the smell off the water, right oh it was so nice so nice and i that's i didn't experience that smell here i for some reason i still smell the normal like our garbage uh thing that we have out in the back the big old uh you know dumpster that's there like a personal issue that big old dumpster has been here since we've been here and that big old dumpster smells so bad and you can when when the wind blows you

00:05:53 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 1:

can smell that that and skunk smell and our friendly skunk that lives in the bushes yeah and then in the afternoon that still makes me run from my car to the door by the way every morning

00:06:03 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 3:

and then in the afternoon that skunk spell is dr darius from jlb that's weed

00:06:09 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 2:

i thought you were talking about your house i'm sorry no no no you're talking about the studio

00:06:14 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

my house smelled wonderful no i i didn't i'll be honest with you i i felt what megan felt where I'm like, wow, it's kind of warm. It kind of felt warm for this early in the morning, 55 degrees right now, it says, on the TV station that I have here in the studio's little corner.

00:06:31 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 2:

Well, when you leave the house, I feel like because we're Midwesterners, you leave with your shoulders hunched, you're just ready to brace for it. And I remember walking out of my friend's door this morning and going, well, that's different.

00:06:45 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Well, we're only going to have it for a day because I think tomorrow then it cools down. That's why that storm's coming through. All right, it is Mojo in the Morning Show. Mojo, Shannon, Megan, Mike, KP, Lydia, good to have you guys here with us. Shannon, I did not know this, but first off, I just wanted to say this before you get into the story. What? I had no idea whose car it was that messed with my feng shui on Monday, I think it was. Monday. Yeah. Pulling into the station. There was the car that wasn't supposed to be there because somebody left their car here. And I was like cussing out your fiance's car, not knowing it was his car. Now I feel bad. I'm going to take it back. I thought it was like a salesperson that just left their car here at the station. Because usually we all park in different ways. I don't know if you notice this.

00:07:35 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 1:

We don't park in different ways. We all park in exactly the same way.

00:07:38 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 3:

Do you notice that I always leave a spot open for you? Because I always leave a spot there in between me and usually Lydia and KP. Why does it bug you there was an extra car here? Or that somebody left their car here?

00:07:50 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 1:

Exactly what he said. It throws off his feng shui.

00:07:53 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 3:

Wes ruined the feng shui, Mike. We had to park. It was the furthest I've parked in this building in a long time. I felt like I was walking from 12 Oaks Mall to get here.

00:08:03 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 1:

So Wes left his car here, Mike, because he helped me surprise the kids on Friday. And so he hopped into my car to go to the airport. So he ended up leaving his car here. and he was actually going away for the weekend as well he went down to florida just to get some sunshine and work and um kind of reset a little bit and he didn't come home until monday really really late like 10 30 11 o'clock is when his flight landed so that's what mojo's talking about his car was still here on monday morning okay i see yeah and in fact he had said to me i'm kind of in trouble over this at the moment because he ended up like in all of the craziness of friday he lost the key to his car and couldn't figure out where it was and yes megan thank you because you helped me so much when jay mckeon i think it was from our sales department sent a a station wide email saying you know somebody left their key in the parking lot whose key is this with a photo and i was like oh thank god that's west's key so actually one of our sales

00:09:05 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

people found it yeah but who was the person who identified it you megan ohio yes no thank you That's Wes's key.

00:09:13 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 3:

How amazing is it, A, that Megan could identify that it was Wes's key, and B, Megan checks the iHeart email.

00:09:20 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 2:

That was what was most surprising to me, to be honest.

00:09:24 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 1:

And to be fair, Wes and my brother drive the same car.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 2:

Same car, yeah.

00:09:28 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

I know that key. So I had texted Wes, and I was like, oh my gosh, somebody found your key. And he said, okay, you know, I need to get it, obviously. I'm going to Uber home from the airport. I would have gone to pick him up, but again, he didn't land until like 11 o'clock. Like, I, no offense, I'm not going to the airport that late when we have to wake up at 3.30 in the morning. I may love you to marry you, but I will not love you to pick you up at that time. So he's like, I'm going to Uber from the airport. Can you please hide my key somewhere outside of the radio station? Like, put it in a Ziploc baggie or something and tell me where it is so that I can just.

00:10:00 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 2:

grab it and go home and go to bed no problem so monday after the show lydia gives me the key somebody had been keeping it in their office for me i get the key i totally forgot to bring a ziploc bag but i rummaged around in my purse and i found like you know those cute little mini shopping bags that gift cards come in sometime you know i'm talking about i had one of those so i thought perfect i'm gonna throw the key in that i wedged it deep into the bushes out by the side door of the radio station and i told wes where it was you showed him the exact bush like showed him i was like it is literally right in front of your car okay okay well it thunderstormed all day on monday oh no which i don't think was part of the forecast and so unbeknownst to me this caused a huge issue because wes first of all couldn't get an uber when he landed at the airport took him 40 minutes to finally get an uber that wouldn't cancel on him that late at night got an uber the uber got lost on his way to the radio station they finally get here and wes goes to look for the key well it takes him a second to find the bag because we have so much crap in those bushes anyway he was sorting through like target plastic bags that had blown in there and whatever you know like he wasn't aware of what kind of bag it was he finds my little gift card bag and he's like it was just soaking wet and there was a hole in the bottom oh no and so what had happened then he had the uber driver hold up his iphone flashlight and they're both digging through the mud and mulch in bushes looking for this stupid key oh my god they finally found it and he's like you are never ever again trusted to do a favor for me like this work after it got wet

00:11:42 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 3:

thank god it worked yeah i'm always amazed at how people will leave keys like they'll have like hiding spots for keys or they'll leave a leave a key places yeah and i'm always amazed that they'll do that with their car keys that have key fobs with them so the key fob on a on a thing is that got that got electronic stuff inside of it right right which his is yeah so i so the by the way you thought that the gift card holder was enough protection yeah you thought that was enough It was a bag, but was it a paper or a plastic bag?

00:12:20 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 2:

It was a very thick paper bag. You guys, I didn't think it was going to rain. And as soon as it started raining, I was at home.

00:12:28 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 3:

I'm like, this might not be good. Do you feel bad? How angry would you be, too, if you showed up as the Uber driver and he's like, yeah, hey, can you help me search? I hope that he got a good rating from. from west on that one um will you be picking him up at 11 o'clock at night from the airport

00:12:50 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 1:

absolutely not but i will order him an uber and make sure it's there

00:12:53 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 3:

and keep the ziploc baggies with you um do you guys have a key hiding spot like do you guys have a place that you put your uh your key because sometimes people have the most obvious key hiding spots and when i hear like for somebody like i had a friend of ours that said hey you know i'm not going to be home and i was dropping some stuff off that chelsea wanted me to bring there and they're like but my key is right there underneath my mat i'm like okay you don't think that a person might the first place they would look is under a mat right and he's like no i figured that i put it under the mat because who's dumb enough to hide it under a mat well it's so

00:13:30 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 2:

funny a couple maybe like a couple of years ago i was talking about getting locked out of my house and oh i really need to have you know have a hidden key somewhere give my neighbor a key which I still haven't done by the way and um a listener was so nice and came to an event that I was at and gave me uh like one of those rocks that has a hideaway yeah like the hideaway yeah and he it was a guy and I was single at the time and he's like you know I bought this for you you can put your key in this and put it right outside your house and I'm thinking to myself I'm not I'm dumb I'm not that dumb that you know exactly what the rock looks like that hides the key to my house that i live in all by myself that's his way of trying to get in try to get a key honestly it's more of that guy nice gesture very nice do those do those rocks

00:14:16 - 00:15:01 | Speaker 3:

the fake rocks look like rocks or do they look not look really some are better than others i mean this one was actually pretty decent but it wasn't bad yeah uh what's going on kevin hey how are you good buddy where's your secret hiding spot so whenever i go out with friends i usually put it behind the tire the back to the back tire to be specific that would be a great place that would actually be that channon should have done that because then it would have been weatherproof right right behind the tire not on top of it but behind it underneath the car so so on wait you actually put it on the ground though yeah yeah yep because i was i was thinking that you put it on you know on the top of the tire underneath the wheel well there and then it's kind of stay you Now stays there. People look for that stuff.

00:15:02 - 00:15:24 | Speaker 2:

Well, listen, nobody's going to look through the mud in front of the bad tree that's probably half dead in front of the radio studio to try to find it. The problem, though, is it's almost one of those things where it's like, okay, you almost have to keep it in the obvious spot, like in Wes Shannon's fiance's case, because you want it to be so obvious that even he can find it.

00:15:24 - 00:15:24 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:15:24 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 2:

You know, and it doesn't run away. So thank you for the call.

00:15:28 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 3:

Or air tag it, yeah.

00:15:29 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 2:

That's a good idea, yeah. Have the AirTag on so he kind of knows where the AirTag is. Although, I'm finding out that AirTags are great for getting you to the address, but not specific points. What's up, Trevor?

00:15:41 - 00:15:51 | Speaker 6:

Well, good morning, Mojo. I used to hide mine in the gas tank door. Oh. No, no, no. That's no. Really? What is it locked? I know.

00:15:51 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 2:

Well, some don't have locks.

00:15:53 - 00:15:58 | Speaker 5:

Most cars don't have locks on them. Yeah. But it's out of the elements, and most people wouldn't think they're looking there.

00:15:59 - 00:16:03 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, my Tahoe, it's kind of like a magnetic thing where you guys push it and it comes right out. So it's not really locked.

00:16:04 - 00:16:06 | Speaker 6:

Like if I drop my truck off at the dealership.

00:16:07 - 00:16:12 | Speaker 1:

I'm so dumb. I don't have the door to my gas tank, so I just assumed he went in the gas hole.

00:16:13 - 00:16:17 | Speaker 5:

Because mine's just sticking out of the side. In the gas tank, in the door.

00:16:17 - 00:16:19 | Speaker 4:

You just set it in there and you closed the door.

00:16:19 - 00:16:22 | Speaker 5:

I don't have a door on mine, so I just forgot those existed.

00:16:23 - 00:16:35 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, with Jeep, it's a little bit different, right? although with the jeep honestly there's ways to get in that thing you just leave it in the car and it's probably fine in that um thank you for the call trevor have a great day buddy

00:16:35 - 00:16:56 | Speaker 5:
