It's Mojo in the Morning Show, your home of the phone scams. Mallory and Miranda took their mom to Las Vegas to celebrate her 60th birthday. She got so drunk on the first night, two security officers had to carry her out of the bar and across the strip back to the hotel. Mom doesn't remember much from that night, so Spike is going to call and tell her that she skipped out on paying a casino bar tab. It's a Mojo in the Morning phone scam.

00:01:27 - 00:02:10 | Speaker 4:

We will, we will scam you. Sorry, it's a catchy song. It's your home of phone scams. Mojo in the Morning. Hello? Yes, hello. I'm trying to reach Cindy's ****, please. This is her. Cindy, my name is Daniel Ocean. I'm calling from **** Customer Relations. How are you today? I'm good. Okay, great. Do you have a few minutes to talk about your recent stay with us? Sure. I'm writing an incident report which involved your visit on the 20th. I understand you were in our piano bar until it closed at 2 a.m., is that correct? Yes. It was at that time that two of our security guards left their post. Do you know them personally? What is your relationship?

00:02:11 - 00:02:13 | Speaker 5:

I have no idea who they are.

00:02:13 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 4:

Well, our security cameras do show you leaving with them.

00:02:17 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 5:

No, I know that, but I don't personally know them. I don't.

00:02:20 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 4:

You left the bar with two people you don't know? I'm wondering if by any chance you were intoxicated at that bar. I was. So how intoxicated would you say you were?

00:02:33 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 5:

Not overly intoxicated.

00:02:37 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 4:

There was an unsettled bill for your party for $381 on our property. Did the gentleman tell you not to worry about paying it because they would take care of it? No. The two security guards left their post, and my reason for getting a statement from you is that they're going to get written up and possibly put on probation. We're trying to determine if something more nefarious happened here. Where did they take you? Did they take you to another bar?

00:03:00 - 00:03:03 | Speaker 5:

No, they just took me over to the Winspoon with my daughter.

00:03:03 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 4:

Well, they told us that they took you to another bar. You're saying they didn't. They took you to a hotel?

00:03:10 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 5:

No, they took me back to my hotel. They just made sure I got into my place safely.

00:03:15 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 4:

So you went back to your own property, and how long did you stay with the two gentlemen?

00:03:20 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 5:

Like, I don't know, five minutes.

00:03:23 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 4:

Do you find it weird that they would just leave their job and wander to another hotel resort with a customer they had never met before?

00:03:32 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 5:

They just wanted to make sure I got there safely.

00:03:35 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 4:

Two gentlemen that work on our resort met you for the first time. You were drinking at the bar. Yes. All three of you decided to suddenly leave without any prior introduction. You don't know these gentlemen, but you took them back to your hotel.

00:03:48 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 5:

They only took me to the entrance, and then my daughter got me.

00:03:52 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 4:

What did your daughter say when you showed up with two gentlemen that you don't know? She wasn't happy. You're claiming you were intoxicated. You do not know what happened to the gentleman after that, in which they walked you back.

00:04:02 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 5:

As far as I know, they went back to where they were supposed to go.

00:04:06 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 4:

So you left the bar without paying the bill for the drinks that you had?

00:04:09 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no, we paid our bill at the bar.

00:04:11 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 4:

Not according to the statement here. We have an unsettled bill for $381 on our property.

00:04:16 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 5:

We paid a bar bill there that was $250.

00:04:19 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 4:

Did you continue to have shots after you paid the bill?

00:04:22 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 5:

No.

00:04:22 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 4:

Do you want to guess what my security cameras say? They say you had extra shots at the bar.

00:04:27 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 5:

Are those the ones that Casey and Jason paid for?

00:04:30 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 4:

I don't know who those gentlemen are.

00:04:31 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 5:

Casey and Jason are the people that were sitting right beside me at the bar.

00:04:36 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 4:

Do you have their phone numbers that I can speak with them? No, I don't. So just some random strangers paid for your drinks?

00:04:43 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:04:44 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 4:

And I'm trying to figure out if there's a crime going on here, maybe something between you and our security guards.

00:04:50 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 5:

Oh, absolutely not. That's weird because I know we paid our bill when we left the bar.

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

How do you know that if you're intoxicated?

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 3:

You're right. What were you celebrating at the bar?

00:05:04 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 5:

My birthday.

00:05:05 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 3:

Also seemed like you could hardly walk on your way out of the bar.

00:05:09 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 5:

That, I was having trouble walking.

00:05:12 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 3:

Cindy, this all isn't adding up for us here at H**, and that's why I'm putting an incident report together. Can I just ask you, do you think it's appropriate for a 60-year-old to act in front of her daughters in that manner?

00:05:25 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 4:

No, I totally regret it.

00:05:27 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 3:

Let me reword that question to be a little more direct. Do you think it's appropriate for your two adult daughters to phone scam their mother on the Mojo in the morning show?

00:05:36 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God. Are you kidding me? Oh, my God. I am going to kill those girls. Oh, my God.

00:05:44 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 4:

Happy birthday, Cindy. It's Spike, Mojo, Shannon, everybody.

00:05:48 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God.

00:05:52 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 4:

Wow, it sounds like we missed quite the party last weekend in Vegas.

00:05:55 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. I don't know.

00:05:57 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 4:

A little birdie told me you couldn't even walk home. that you had to be carried back to the room and then you slept on the floor. Yes! That's the way to celebrate.

00:06:08 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God.

00:06:12 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 1:

We will, we will scam you. You've been phone scammed. It's Mojo in the Morning's world-famous phone scams.

00:06:26 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Mom, now that I have an after-school job, I think I want to buy a drum kit.

00:06:30 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 5:

Okay, Rockstar. Let's look at your account. When kids start making money, Chase has easy-to-use tools and expert bankers to help them learn how to manage it.

00:06:38 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 2:

And next month, I'll buy the bass drum and the cymbals. Oh, and maybe some noise-canceling headphones for you.

00:06:43 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 5:

Aw, you've thought of everything. Help kids save, budget, and build financial independence all with Chase. That's good for kids and good for parents. Visit your local Chase branch and get started.
