It's Mojo in the morning show, so Luke's prom is on Friday. I was talking with Luke yesterday a little bit about, like, wrapping up, like, what he has to wear for prom because I went out and got him, you know, his outfit. Then I realized the last minute, he has no shoes. I'm like, uh-oh.

Are you guys not the same size?

No, I am a size 14. Luke is a size 10.

Okay. You're a size 14?

Yes. But then I thought to myself, you know what? By the way, you know what they say about guys with big feet?

Okay. I knew we were going to get distracted as soon as I said that.

What do they say about guys with big feet?

They also have big hands. They're so smart and intelligent and kind.

I was just wondering what they say about guys with big feet. No, so, but then I thought to myself, I'm like, well, you know what, though? Will he want to wear, like, Jordans or, like, you know, like, what will he wear?

Oh, I love when, I love when, yeah, he'll do that.

But I think he wants to go, like, classic with what he's wearing for prom. So I think he's going to wear, like, dress shoes. But got to figure that out. But I wanted to bring this up because I thought that this was really interesting. 17% of prom goers break up with their boyfriend or girlfriend just before prom. It's kind of a sad story here. So 17% break up. Of them, 72% still go together.

Because they can't find a date. Has that ever happened to anybody? Did anybody ever break up with their prom date? Before prom?

At the very end of prom, I didn't have a girlfriend or a date at the end of it.

Oh, you went to the dance and broke up during the dance?

Yeah. I didn't break up, but we were, okay. So there's a long history between us. We were the couple that were on and off all through high school. So we go out and go out to Boswick Lake Inn. We get dinner. I spill a drink over her entire dress. I also was in an era of highlights. So I always didn't make the best decisions at that moment And we run into her family And I keep making jokes Trying to lighten the mood About the drink that I just spilled in her lap Her family does not find it funny at all Because they spent all this money on this dress They are furious that I just spilled the drink over it And so I'm continuing to try to make jokes To make it funny To lighten the mood And we go through the dance And by the end of the dance We just broke up It was just because we just fought the whole time over it Because I'm just like It's not that big of a deal You can't even tell. But every time we'd go to take a picture, I'd make another joke about it. Because I'm, again, trying to lighten the mood. And she's upset about the dress. Her parents are upset about the dress. This just sounds like a very Mike situation to me.

Did you see the picture, by the way, of Mike? He cut out the date that he spent. I would love to see what dress she was wearing, though.

But Mike with the highlights. You got to go see that. I put it in the group chat. That's worth definitely showing off to the listeners.

That's funny. Now that you say that, I did. I dated the same guy from the time I was a freshman in high school until the summer before my senior year of college. But we were kind of off and on at one point. And we broke up before because he came back for my junior prom. And he was older than me. Poor guy. Just sat there. Did not have any fun whatsoever. And it wasn't that much fun for me either because, you know, he wasn't friends with any of my friends. And right before senior prom, I think we broke up again and I ended up going with like a guy friend of mine. Yeah. And it was super fun.

I, like Mike, broke up with my date at the prom, but then I didn't have a ride home from the prom. Oh, no.

Did you have to call your dad?

Yes.

And my dad, I mean, because it's prom night and you get a call from your kid. He was like, what's wrong? And I was like, I need to get picked up. I have no way to get home.

Oh, yeah. So I bought my shoes. I spent like $200 on a dress. It was stunning. And it's the day of buying prom tickets. And he broke up with me after a rough weekend in the woods doing some illegals. And he was like, oh, but we can still go together. Like, it would be totally cool. I laughed at him. And as I walked, I was like panic mode. It was seventh hour. and a kid I didn't have known since seventh grade he's like I heard what happened I don't even want to go with who I asked do you want to come with me and we had the best time it was it turned out great but I'm like freaking out man $200 dress you know what yeah that's so awesome though that

you've ended up going with somebody probably even better right oh yeah and then actually a few years

later um I was at at a bar and all of a sudden someone comes around with a shot and he goes do you want to go to prom with me and I turned around and it was my friend it was so funny

Well, I had two dates cancel on me for prom. Not just one, two.

And how much time before prom was this happening?

Well, the first cancellation was two weeks before prom. He already got tickets. Everything was good to go. But he didn't like the way that I said yes to going with him, even though he asked me over instant messenger. I don't know how you can say yes better with an IM, but it's fine. Okay.

How did you say yes?

Boy, that brings back memories.

I can hear the doo-doo, doo-doo. And the doors. So that was the first one. So then a friend of mine had introduced me to somebody else, and I had asked him if he wanted to go. I mean, Ty had two weeks to find somebody, and everything was good to go, and the day of prom he was not responding back to me was not talking there was nothing and i had already bought the tickets and i'm like oh my god this is not happening so he never showed up so within a matter of an hour my sister and i i'm already ready my dress is on hair done everything's good and my sister actually ended up getting a hold of my ex-boyfriend within that last hour like hey do you have a tux and he's like yeah he went to a different school so he ended up coming

with me it's last minute but it was insane that was actually my situation was in my mom uh uh had like friends that were friends of the family growing up and the situation was my mom's old time friends that she you know knew one of the daughters needed a prom date and so my dad's like this is one of mom's greatest friends this would be a great tribute to your mom and that was the only time that i had ever gotten a chance to uh to do it to go to a uh a dance what's going on holly yes this is even funnier holly what did what happened to your prom date

so a little bit of backstory before i dropped the bomb um for my prom he took me to a cemetery because i don't know i was in the hanging out at cemeteries at the time and he opened his trunk And he had, like, literally a huge cooler filled with every kind of liquor and alcohol you could possibly imagine in there. And we hung out and we drank in the cemetery for a while. And a few years later, he became a Catholic priest.

That's fantastic. That's the greatest. He took you to the cemetery to go get drunk. Did you guys fool around? Yes, you did. By the way, you might have been his last woman. You might have been the last. How does that make you feel?

I know for a fact I was.

I think I was the one and only. So here's the deal. I'm going to ask you guys this question, and then you stay on the phone with us. Who's got it worse? Holly's prom date became a priest after she fooled around with him.

Okay.

Brittany, what happened to your prom date?

Oh, my gosh. So, like, a couple weeks before prom, like, you know, you have to buy the tickets, like, a couple weeks ahead, and so my boyfriend was, like, a year older than me, so I was going to buy the tickets, and, like, just a day before that, he got pulled over and arrested, and he had to go to jail.

Okay.

So then I had to come up with this crazy story for my parents as to, like, why he went to jail and why he couldn't go to prom with me. Of course, I, like, tended on, like, his friends, I was like, oh, his friends have stuff in the car. And, like, he was just kind of, like, guilty by association.

Why did he really have to go to jail?

So he...

Actually, it was like, he was selling weed.

Oh, back in the day. All right, so which one's worse? Who would you rather be in this case? Would you rather be Holly, who turned a guy towards the Lord, or Brittany, who was dating the convict? Which one would you rather be in this case?

Well, I think going to jail before prom is worse because that's like right in the moment, you're panicked, you have to come up with a lie for your parents, and you don't got to date.

Yeah, but the priest one is like, he's achieved the best he can ever achieve, so now it's a vow of chastity to Christ. But think about her.

Think about her. She's the only one.

Wouldn't you love to know that the guy that you were with took a vow of chastity after he was with you?

And it was like you were the last thing you knew. Seriously. He thinks about it all the time.

He also later baptized me and my son. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. That's the winner. That's beautiful. And the head, like the head priest actually told the entire Easter RCIA congregation a little bit about our story and that he's like, now she's an adult getting baptized and he's our Catholic priest. Oh, my.
