00:02:22 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 5:

This is like an orgasm in a cup Showtime

00:02:48 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. welcome to the mojo in the morning show oh gosh i i it's funny because i don't know if people will actually you make comments or don't make comments but then finally kp just came in and goes what happened to your beard i ended up uh shaving my beard off and um i've only done this i think i think this might be only the second time in the last 10 years or so that i've been beardless but uh i made a huge mistake mike i know you know the feeling of this one what'd you do i well i bought i bought a razor i bought a new one i bought a new manscaper i bought the the the shaver one i don't even know what the heck they call it they actually have a funny name for it it was my first time using it and i had it on its lowest setting not realizing that the lowest well i mean i mean lowest setting i mean the lowest amount of inches off or or their hair it should have taken off my face well i didn't realize that the lowest setting was basically what you're looking at right

00:04:20 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 5:

now man it took it all up it wasn't a trimmer it was a beard basically shaver so i've done that before and i know the panic that goes into it the second you do it too because there's no coming

00:04:31 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

back from it you know what it is it's it's like you ever you cut the lawn and when you cut the lawn and you realize you ran over like a sprinkler head or something like that and you're like crap and then you're trying to figure out like what you're going to do to try to fix you know that whole thing well that's pretty much what I did and so then you're like okay well do I then try to do a goatee and I'm like I can't do a goatee because goatees equal creepy and uh listen I had them for years and honestly they were creepy

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 4:

Look back at the pictures of them. You would not want me around a playground of little children. It would look very bad. All you need is a white truck and me and a big old bag of candy. It would be bad.

00:05:10 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 1:

There was a place of time for them, but that time is not now. Goatees.

00:05:14 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 4:

The only person that can have a goatee is Shamar Moore. Oh, he can have anything. Yeah. He can have a goatee if he wants to. Yeah. He can be hairless. He could have hair all over the place. He could do anything.

00:05:26 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 3:

How long is it going to take you to grow your beard back?

00:05:28 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 4:

Well, the stubble came back pretty much in a day.

00:05:31 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I was going to say, you got stubble this morning.

00:05:33 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 4:

So I got a little stubble going. So I don't think I can get to the length that I was at, because that length that I was at, I didn't shave since November. I did a no-shave November, and then I kind of got a little bushy, and it was bad. Can I tell you the reason why I trimmed it? Friday night, we went out to eat, and we ate at an Italian restaurant, and we did pasta and stuff. and I walked out of the restaurant and I looked in the mirror when I got into the car and I had spaghetti sauce

00:06:02 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 3:

all in my beard and you thought it's time

00:06:05 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 4:

and I looked and I'm like why didn't anybody nobody said anything to me and we had a group of people we went with some friends and we had friends in town and I'm like what the hell is going on why would you guys not say anything to me and I should have probably kept it and then what I should have done is not taking a shower or anything all weekend, and then had you guys guess what I ate over the weekend just by smelling my beard.

00:06:28 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God.

00:06:30 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 4:

Would that not be fun?

00:06:30 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 1:

Are you trying to make us vomit this early in the morning?

00:06:32 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 4:

Guess what's in Mojo's beard? Remember we used to do the contest, guess what's in Spike's pants?

00:06:36 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 2:

Yes. That was a contest. I do, I do.

00:06:38 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 4:

But it was actually just a pair of your pants. We'd put stuff in it.

00:06:41 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 2:

Some things don't need to come back.

00:06:43 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 4:

I know. KP gave me a very nice compliment, though. She said, I look younger without my beard. And when you say younger, she goes, a little younger. A little? Yeah, she goes, you look a little younger. I'm like, thank you.

00:06:56 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, to be fair, I came in here and I was like, I wasn't all rude. I was like, did you shave your beard? Lydia was the one that was like, look at Mojo.

00:07:07 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

Does it look off? You look like a baby. Thank you. That's much better than a little younger. That was much better than that. But I'm going to tell you the other thing, too. It's cold without the thing.

00:07:18 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 3:

Is that legit?

00:07:19 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 4:

I'm not kidding you when I say that. First off, we went and visited the campus of Michigan State University where Luke is going to be going, our son. And Saturday might have been one of the coldest days I've ever had because for 90 minutes, we were outside walking the campus. I did 10,002 steps in 90 minutes. First off, I've done 10,000 steps, but I've done it usually over the course of a day. It was 90 minutes. I was like, oh, my God, my legs were about to fall off. But, yeah, it was really, really cold. And it was – can I ask this question? What is the deal with kids not wearing coats?

00:08:04 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

I noticed that about your picture.

00:08:06 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 4:

If you go back, if you look at the Instagram or Facebook photo of my wife, Chelsea, my son, Luke, and myself, you see Chelsea and I so bundled up, like to the point that we look like we're, you know, in Alaska, which it was virtually Alaska. It was East Lansing. And then you look at Luke, and Luke's wearing like a flannel or something. Open. Yeah. Unbuttoned. It was craziness.

00:08:32 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

I posted last week when it hit zero, I posted something about still my teenagers won't wear their coat. I don't think I've ever gotten so much response from an Instagram story in the last year because it's something universal. Every parent has gone through this trying to get your teenager to put a damn coat on.

00:08:46 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 3:

Not even teenager. Any age. Eight and five. And still, we walked into the mall on Saturday night, and both of my kids weren't wearing coats. They didn't want to. And I'm like, you don't understand. All the other moms are going to look at mom and think she's a bad mom because you two are not wearing coats.

00:09:01 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, you know what? And that's the thing. I think that parents, all the parents. I don't care if they're warm or not.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

It's the judgment piece.

00:09:06 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 4:

These people, if they're listening, they have to call us up. There was a family from West Bloomfield, also where we're from, that walked up to Chelsea and asked where we were from. And Chelsea goes, oh, we're from Michigan. And they said, oh, really? And they were, like, shocked. Oh, really? And then she said, you know, oh, why? And she goes, well, what part of us? Michigan. She goes, West Bloomfield. He goes, oh, my God, we're from there. We thought for sure that you guys were from California and didn't know how cold it was going to be here. And it was funny because our friends were from California, and they brought better coats than Luke actually took with us to go on campus. This is Kelly Post, who's a Mojo in the Morning follower on our social media, says, I love that mom is bundled up in a cute little Eskimo outfit. Dad's got winter gloves and a warm coat. And Luke's like, I'm good. T-shirt open. He is ready to be a Sparty.

00:10:00 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 1:

That was the other thing, too. I noticed a lot of there was college students that were so prepared. They were like in their big, you know, North Face jackets, puffy coats, all this stuff. And then there were some like Luke and the ones that were like Luke are carrying a case of Bush beer or something like, oh, my God.

00:10:22 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 4:

How much MSU stuff did you guys come home with? Oh, geez.

00:10:25 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 5:

I really wanted a picture so bad. That's why he wasn't wearing a coat. He had that shiny new state shirt on he had to show off.

00:10:32 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 1:

I should actually show you guys the – I think that we – I don't know. It was Chelsea or her friend Leah took a picture of all of us carrying bags of, you know, merch down, like everything. Because it's funny because both of the boys were justifying it by saying they're going there. And then both of the dads – and then here's the greatest. I go and reach up, and I grab one, and the shirt says – and I said – because our friends – it's a really wild story. I'll explain later today, but our friend's son is also going, they're from California, Chelsea's best friend from first grade on. So I pick up the shirt that says MSU dad, and I go, Dennis, what do you think? He was so into it. The moms were like, I will never wear a shirt that says MSU mom. I will never do it. And then I picked up MSU grandpa, and I'm like, I'm going to wear this one. I think it would be just funny. Then everybody like KP will be like, wow, you look young. You're a grandpa? I always think you look young. Thank you, KP. Thank you. Now she's trying to be nice. You can't make nice after that comment earlier.

00:11:34 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 3:

Young grandpa.

00:11:35 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 1:

That's right. Hi, George. What's going on?

00:11:38 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 3:

I tell you, guys, you know, I'm not a coat wearer even now. But I, for years, I can't even tell you how long, I wore shorts 24-7. Didn't make any difference what time of year it was. And it's kind of hard to enforce the rule of, no, you can't wear shorts, son, when your dad is.

00:11:56 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, so you're that guy. I remember we used to work with one of those guys that would wear cargo shorts year-round and flip-flops or slides.

00:12:06 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 3:

Well, and now my son wears shorts. He'll be going outside. I'm like, man, aren't you going to put pants on? He's heading to the gym. And he says, no, I'm fine. I'm like, eh.

00:12:15 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:12:15 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 3:

Okay.

00:12:17 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 1:

That, I would say, is the only time that you can get away with wearing just shorts. If you're going to a gym and you're going to go work out, but when you leave there, you better have something prepared, like a car warmer or something, right?

00:12:29 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, when it's minus 20, I mean, even going is cold.

00:12:34 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 1:

Was it just me, or did yesterday feel like it was like 60 degrees?

00:12:39 - 00:12:46 | Speaker 4:

It did. My house was finally warm, because I battled all day Friday, Saturday, my house being so...

00:12:46 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 1:

Crazy.

00:12:47 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 4:

I could not crank my thermostat high enough.

00:12:49 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was really nice. I mean, actually, it was kind of a bummer for me because I had a lot of stuff I wanted to do inside of the house. My dogs, all they wanted to do was be outside of the house. Cam, what's going on?

00:13:00 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. Congratulations to your future Sparty.

00:13:03 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 1:

Oh, thank you.

00:13:05 - 00:13:18 | Speaker 2:

So my daughter is in her first year at MSU, and same thing, she would never wear a coat. In October, she called me and asked me for a coat for an early Christmas gift because it was so cold. Walking back and forth to classes and going to the football games, she was absolutely frozen all the time.

00:13:18 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 1:

You know what? That has to be, right? once they start and they realize it doesn't make a difference what you look like when you're having

00:13:24 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 2:

to walk you know from point a to point b yeah my daughter said she was walking like four and a half

00:13:29 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 1:

miles a day and she was absolutely oh wow that campus is so big you know it's funny i i've gone to michigan state to a ton of football games and ton of basketball games over the years but i usually just go park and then leave i've never been on the campus to realize and they told us in the the tour that we did it's the largest campus in the country largest square footage of land that's in the country because it was originally an agricultural college. I paid attention.

00:13:54 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 2:

Can I tell you what

00:13:56 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 1:

I wanted to do? I thought this would have been so funny. I thought if I videotaped this, we would have been able to get good social posts on it, social interaction on it. Here I am speaking this, like all the speakeys. I listen to our bosses too. Everybody's in a room, an auditorium, waiting to go on the tour and there's hundreds of people that are there. I said to Dennis, I go, who's our friend, let's go up in front We're going to walk up in front and we're going to go, hey, how you doing? I'm Dennis. Hi, I'm Tom. Just want to welcome you guys here to Michigan State. Sparties. We love you guys. This is going to be so much fun. By the way, we're the dads of those two guys.

00:14:31 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Luke would have killed you. He would have died.

00:14:35 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 1:

We should have. We should have pretended like we were going to the bathroom and doing it. And we didn't do it because the girl then came up there right away and she goes, hi, welcome here. And I'm going, it would have been so great because everybody would have paid attention thinking that we were.

00:14:46 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 5:

I just remember those college tours with Natalie and every walk from the car to the auditorium would be like dad just don't talk dad you don't remember you don't have to ask a question dad it's okay dad just just let let's let everyone else ask.

00:15:00 - 00:15:11 | Speaker 2:

questions that's what luke was like too luke was but dennis is equally me luke thought he's funny because he's not his dad but i'm not right like i would i would use yeah you don't get credit even

00:15:11 - 00:15:15 | Speaker 3:

when you are funny which you know is all the time to me it's just natalie doesn't recognize my

00:15:15 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 1:

brilliance uh carrie what's happening hi i was just calling to say that my husband wears short sleeve shirts and shorts and sandals even if it's negative degrees out in snow We went to Walmart in town And this little girl at Walmart Looks at her mom and she says It's not summertime And then her and my husband had a little argument About it being warm out

00:15:39 - 00:15:42 | Speaker 2:

Do you find what he's doing To be not very smart

00:15:42 - 00:15:47 | Speaker 1:

I do but he doesn't care He still does it Oh my god you idiot

00:15:47 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 2:

You know what the worst is When you get locked out of your car And you're dressed like that

00:15:52 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 1:

He walks to town like that

00:15:56 - 00:15:57 | Speaker 2:

That's crazy

00:15:57 - 00:16:00 | Speaker 1:

Like, out in the freezing cold. I'm like, you're crazy. It's freezing. He's like, it's not cold.

00:16:01 - 00:16:06 | Speaker 2:

I always wonder if those people have, like, a different kind of, like, blood circulation. You know? There's something to them.

00:16:06 - 00:16:11 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, he said he was in the Navy and was in the cold.

00:16:12 - 00:16:16 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's wild. Well, you know, hey, thank you for serving. Thanks for the call. I appreciate it.
