All right, it is the Mojo in the Morning show. I'm gonna bring this story up here right now just to see what you guys all think, but it's already happened, so it's passed. And I was having a conversation with some friends about this because a buddy of mine um i was a couple three weeks ago or so had the toughest decision of his life to make and he made it himself and did not tell his family this is the decision his wife and kids were all out of town they were visiting family and they were vacationing they went on a trip to disney and they've got family also that live in orlando and while they were away he stayed back and he was working and while this was going on their dog ended up not doing well got really really sick he brought the dog to the vet and the vet told him that the dog was going to die and that the dog was also not savable and that the dog was suffering so what he did is the controversial thing because his family is really upset with him you tell me what you guys would do knowing that your wife and kids are all away they're on a family trip you're home you're home with your dog the dog is obviously everybody's best friend right everybody loves the dog he ended up putting the dog down and didn't tell the family until they came home oh my god i'd be so upset so there was no chance technically i guess for them all to come home i mean it would have cost an arm and a leg to get on flights and honestly the vet had said that the dog was suffering so bad that they could have given the dog some meds to make them you know to make the dog actually go through less of uh of a suffering for like maybe 24 hours but past that it would gotten to a point where that would have just been inhumane so he made a decision and decided he was going to not tell his family they weren't enjoyed disney and did all their stuff on their vacation and then came home like five or six days later and then picked him up at the airport and said i got something to talk to you guys about came home sat them all down and told them about what you at least tell your wife

00:03:17 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 7:

yeah i agree with not telling the kids while they're they're at disney god even then like if this happened to my Charlie, Lucy and Smith would be absolutely devastated that they didn't even get to take a bye on FaceTime or something. But you at least tell your wife that that's happening. So how

00:03:32 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 5:

would you act in that situation? You and the kids are in Disney. Wes calls you with the same thing. How does that affect you? Are you good at just keeping a secret, act like nothing's happening? Or how do you respond to that? I would probably tell

00:03:42 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 7:

the kids. See, do you eff up the trip?

00:03:44 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 3:

And ruin the vacation?

00:03:46 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 7:

I don't know. I think the they would, I don't know. You will ruin the trip. But I would need to know, and I am not good at hiding that stuff.

00:03:57 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 6:

The trip is going to be ruined even worse when you come home to a pet that is no longer there. But the trip's over. But you'll remember that as a part of the trip anyways. Really? I'd rather have goodbyes than not goodbyes. It's going to be ruined. I need the goodbye. I need the goodbye. Would it be on FaceTime? Yeah.

00:04:15 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 3:

All right, so here's a question. I'm going to throw it around. You guys all say, Shannon, Megan, you guys say it's a bad idea. I actually agree, I think, with where Kev's going to go. I would have done the same thing. To me, I would have done that because I would not want my family to have their vacation and their time with the family ruined over this. And to be quite honest with you, actually, I probably would tell Chelsea because I don't know if I could make that decision on my own because she would think that the dog was completely fine and I'd just kill the dog.

00:04:43 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 5:

See, I would have taken, like, a video with the dog and said, like, we love you. Oh, no.

00:04:49 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God, no.

00:04:52 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 3:

Kelsey, what do you think, Kelsey? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:04:55 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my goodness. Mike with the video is, like, criminal.

00:04:59 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

That was Cav.

00:05:00 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 11:

No, that's to let them know they're a part of it.

00:05:03 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:05:04 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 11:

No, but like, hey, I get to be there for the dog's death, but you guys don't. But we love you. Have fun on your vacation. Like, no, you can't do that. I don't think he did a horrible thing. I know that I have two rabbits at home, and my husband's like, if something's going on with them, they got to go. And I would be a heartbroken mess. I would try to prolong it. It's not worth it. But the suffering aspect, just for what? The kids to say goodbye? At least their last memory will be a happy one.

00:05:35 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 8:

That's what I think, too. I agree with you on that. I just think it gives them an opportunity to have the sorrow happen when they're back at home and you can comfort them. Imagine putting all that pressure on mom to be able to do the comforting.

00:05:47 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 2:

I think I'm more concerned about the wife in this situation. Because let's be real, it was probably her decision to get the dog in the first place, but that's her dog.

00:05:55 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 8:

JT, what do you think?

00:05:56 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 9:

I have to agree with the guys on this one. I would, if I was on vacation, I wouldn't want to know until I got back because I don't want to have that heavy on my mat while I'm on vacation.

00:06:07 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 11:

Yeah.

00:06:08 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 9:

Because I remember one time being on a cruise with somebody and I saw the reaction of somebody's family. Somebody actually, somebody's son got killed while he was on vacation and that was on his whole vacation.

00:06:20 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 8:

Wow. Yeah, that's brutal.

00:06:21 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 9:

Because they called and told him, yeah. Well, it was their son.

00:06:24 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 2:

You can't not tell them their kid died.

00:06:27 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 8:

If it's family, you come home for that. I know it's a dog and that's family, but I think that if it's like a person, I don't know. He on a cruise. Megan, what's up?

00:06:34 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 10:

In the middle of the Mediterranean. Hey, I just feel like, you know, the wife should have at least been notified. Like something like that happened to my husband when he was in high school. He had this dog that he picked out when he was a kid, grew up with it. He went to school one morning thinking, you know, I'm going to come home and see my dog. And then he gets home. He can't find his dog anywhere. and his mom tells him, like, oh, I just put him down. I put her down.

00:06:59 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. And the dog probably wasn't even sick.

00:07:04 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 10:

No, she had a little bit of hip dysplasia. That was really it.

00:07:08 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 8:

I'm telling you. She was like, how many times did our animals go off to farms back in the day? It's like, your dog's living on a farm somewhere. Yeah, a farm somewhere. What's up? You're being voice disguised, initial C.

00:07:21 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 4:

hi this happened the same exact thing happened to my family and my dad put our dog down without telling us and we haven't spoken in almost nine years about it oh my goodness wait you haven't spoken about it or to him no we haven't spoken to my dad in almost nine years so when you say

00:07:41 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 7:

same situation you're out of town you're on vacation the dog is sick it has to be put down and you're not you're not called about it and you come home and then he tells you it was a little

00:07:51 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 4:

different our parents my parents were divorced and so we were home and he just chose to not call us and he chose to put our family dog down and then told us days after that it had happened oh my god yeah that's different yeah and he's i have kids and he hasn't he hasn't met my kids or we i mean we haven't talked in almost nine years wow man that's amazing so that's tough i wonder if this

00:08:19 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 8:

will be the case for this one, because this is not a great situation going on right now for them and their family.

00:08:25 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 7:

He hasn't even met his grandkids.

00:08:28 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 4:

No, and it's sad. I mean, but it's also it snowballed into a whole bunch of things, and it's probably for the better, but you've got to make the best out of it and be positive.

00:08:39 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 8:

Hey, thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Hey, all dogs go to heaven. We hope.

00:08:45 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 2:

Oh my God, what is wrong with you?

00:08:47 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 8:

Except for Kev the dog over there.

00:08:50 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 5:
