Mojo in the Morning Show. Phone number 844-MOJO-LIVE. 844-665-6548. Put your phone away. So where was your boyfriend, Wes?

00:01:57 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 6:

So he was at the gym. And I feel like this is an unspoken rule, or maybe it's an actual rule. And I can't recall if Planet Fitness has this in their locker rooms. He wasn't at a Planet Fitness. But I know when I go, I don't necessarily ever go in the locker room. I just go and work out and then go home. I don't shower or anything or change or anything there. So he was at the gym, and he ended up – some high school kids tried to fight him, which I think is so funny. they were like high school college uh and so he he went and he worked out and he was in the locker room after his workout and he showered and was changing into his clothes and he said there were there were like other people in there and then there was this group of these like high school boys and one of them was facetiming his girlfriend right in the middle of the locker room where a bunch of people walk around half naked right are taking showers and changing so he let it go he was like okay whatever like obviously this kid's not gonna be on the phone for that long well the the kid gets off the phone gets off the facetime with his girlfriend and then him and his buddies start taking the mirror selfie pictures again while there's all these people in the background showering changing whatever i didn't i thought there was a sign posted too and so west said i very nicely and he's like seriously very nicely said you know dude you're not really supposed to have your phone in the locker room like for various reasons whatever and so you know the kid put his phone away. The other kids put their phone away. Well, Wes said when he was walking out to his car, the guys tried to confront him and wanted to fight. Oh, really?

00:03:31 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 7:

Hey, old man.

00:03:34 - 00:03:36 | Speaker 6:

Wow. You can't do that, right?

00:03:36 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 8:

Or Wes needs to go all Karate Kid on them. And that sounds like...

00:03:41 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 6:

He's like, I don't have the energy for this. I just got his car.

00:03:45 - 00:03:50 | Speaker 8:

That to me sounds like something that you would see in the Karate Kid or whatever.

00:03:51 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, except he gets arrested for beating up a bunch of kids who started the whole thing.

00:03:55 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 6:

Which he would never, but...

00:03:57 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 7:

They should. They might need to beat the snot out of those kids to wake them up a little bit. Hold on a second. I'm trying to find the song.

00:04:05 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 8:

What song? Oh, you don't know what song? Hold on a second.

00:04:08 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 6:

Well, I don't know what song you're trying to take.

00:04:09 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 8:

Then it's coming. Then it's coming. Oh, I can't wait. Hold on a second. I'm a little slow today. I'm a little tired and groggier today than I have been for a while.

00:04:18 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 6:

The anticipation is killing me.

00:04:20 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 8:

Hey, God, I know. Hurry it up over there. It's going to be, how do you spell karate?

00:04:25 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 6:

K-A-R.

00:04:28 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 8:

Oh, my God. There you go. Hold on a second. Hold on. Karate Kid. Where the hell is it? I added in there the Karate Kid music. All right. You're the best around. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, na, na, na, na, na, na, na. All right. It doesn't work. The joke doesn't work, especially when I can't spell how I put it in the system.

00:04:46 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 7:

That's the joke, how you spell it.

00:04:48 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 8:

I know.

00:04:49 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 7:

That's not how you spell karate. Oh, my God. But how do people not know you don't record in a locker room? I mean, that's just common sense.

00:04:57 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

We're talking to the same human being.

00:05:00 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 4:

and I'm not picking on teenage kids. I'm picking on anybody with a phone. That we were at church about three or four weeks ago and the guy behind us was on the phone talking to somebody. Oh my gosh. In the middle of church. The priest is in the middle of doing some of the normal stuff that they do. Bless you, bless me, bless others. And you hear the guy behind going, Yeah, okay, I'll be there in a little bit. I'm going, is he talking to the person next to him? I turn around and look, the guy's full-fledged on his phone having a conversation. People do that. People pull their phones out in places where you're like, you can't have your phone on right now. Right. You can't do that.

00:05:43 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 3:

It's one thing to go into a corner of Planet Fitness and take a progress photo or whatever where there's nobody else around, but to FaceTime right in the middle.

00:05:52 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 4:

No, that's not something to do, especially when you got Wes walking out of the shower. Although he can give him something to look at. Here, I'll give your girlfriend something to look at on FaceTime. Then Wes will be the one getting in trouble because he's the older person naked in front of a teenager. What's going on?

00:06:07 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 7:

Okay, I have to talk about this because I feel like it's an epidemic. When you go into the gym and almost everybody is filming themselves working out, they've got tripods and DSLRs. You're just like, what if everyone's trying to be a fitness influencer? I saw that the other day. A tripod?

00:06:22 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 3:

Yes, these two guys had a tripod and were filming themselves doing their workout.

00:06:26 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 7:

It's bad enough that I have to wait for a squat rack, but I have to wait for you to white balance your DSLR so that you can film yourself.

00:06:34 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 5:

That's why I love Planet Fitness. They just put signs up. Like, no phones, no recording. Just work out.

00:06:39 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 4:

Stop it. The problem is everybody, and listen, you guys do this too. We all do this. Take pictures because they want to, like, post something for some reason. I have no idea why.

00:06:49 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 5:

Well, a lot of it's accountability.

00:06:51 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 4:

Like, I'm there.

00:06:52 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 7:

I showed up. I can't say this because I literally have a story on my Instagram with me at the gym. And the reason I have it is for my own accountability when I was struggling.

00:07:01 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 3:

But you're smart about not doing it when you see another lady walking out of the shower.

00:07:06 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 7:

And I'm not hogging equipment. I put it down to making sure no one else is in the shot and it's not an inconvenience to other gym goers.

00:07:12 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 5:

I take a picture of my feet running on the treadmill real fast. And Reese takes a picture walking in the building every day of the Planet Fitness. And I'm like, that's okay, you're not bothering any of the other people working out

00:07:22 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 4:

See, I don't want, though, I don't want to even see the camera out looking And then, you know, if you have it

00:07:28 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 5:

Well, everybody's got their phone out Everybody's either watching something or reading something

00:07:33 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but keep it up on the little holder up there What is the DLSL, what are you talking about?

00:07:41 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 5:

The fancy cameras, the DSLRs, that's what they're called

00:07:44 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 4:

Oh, really? The big digital You can tell that she's a TikToker Because she sometimes will have conversations with me And she'll bring a lingo into it, and I'm like, KP, speak to me like I am a 50-year-old man, and I don't know what you're talking about. I'm like, I have no idea the technical aspects of what we're doing here right now, right?

00:08:05 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 7:

Why don't you please just speak English? Maybe I can understand you.

00:08:10 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 5:

Yes. Well, that's what they've been called for photographers for 20 years, but I don't ever say that to people who aren't photographers. I just say, my real camera. So, you know, it's not the phone. It's the big, chunky one.

00:08:18 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 4:

I try to act like I'm cool and know what she's talking about. I'm like, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I hasten. They bring the thingamajig with the OPPs and the DSRs. We're all potties, right? We're all pod. Isn't that podcasters are called potties? What? I don't know.

00:08:33 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 2:

I think you made that up.

00:08:35 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

What's going on? How you doing, Molly?

00:08:38 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 2:

Hey. Yeah, I was in Grand Rapids over the weekend seeing a musical. And saddest moment, somebody just died and somebody's phone goes off.

00:08:48 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 4:

behind me oh my gosh yeah that's a that's a big one like when you're in a movie or a show like you're you're in you can't have the and did they have an obnoxious ring oh it wasn't too obnoxious but they left it going for like too long yeah there's there's nothing worse than if they have their phone on and it's on old people volume where it's so so loud that all you're hearing is that thing nonstop through the thing have you guys ever been megan i know you've been to a bunch of shows but have you ever been to a show where the uh the people the actors or the actresses actually will stop the show because somebody's phone is ringing in the middle of the thing you know so wait that was a sound effect by the way yeah yeah no i didn't do it on cue we all just looked at our phone yeah no i did too have you ever been there and then they yell at them like turn your phone

00:09:39 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 6:

off no because you know what they've noticed now a couple of times it's happened to people who were using hearing devices because they were hard of hearing and then it's very embarrassing.

00:09:49 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 4:

Wait, what does a hearing device sound like?

00:09:52 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

Well, it's not necessarily that their phones are going off, but some of the actors think that they're on their phones and it's really just like a listening device.

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 2:

or sometimes they do that for blind people too so that they can get a description of what's going on on stage.

00:10:07 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 3:

Well, the audible sound is obviously not, right? If you all of a sudden got the audible and then the person has like some song playing, you know, if you start hearing like Bon Jovi, you know, blaring or something like that on somebody's ringback tone that's going on.

00:10:23 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 11:

Oh, I was at a Broadway show where the person behind me is like on their phone going, I'm at the show. I have to call you back tomorrow. I'm like, oh my God, why did you answer? Was that your mom?

00:10:34 - 00:10:48 | Speaker 3:

By the way, don't you guys think that Wes has every right to beat the crap out of a teenager? Like a cop would turn the other way and go, you had every right to beat the crap out of the teenager that waited in the parking lot for you. What is wrong? If a teenager waits for you in a parking lot.

00:10:48 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 2:

That's what he said because they were literally just waiting outside for me.

00:10:52 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 3:

If a teenager waits for you in the parking lot, you have every right. There's a group of them. Oh, absolutely.

00:11:02 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 4:

A group of them. Do you start, like, snapping while you're walking towards each other slowly? Like West Side Story.

00:11:07 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 11:

But then it's self-defense, and then they look back at the cameras of the parking lot, and they see them waiting for you. So then you get off scot-free. It's like a free beating. Yeah. It's a free lesson for those teenagers.

00:11:16 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 5:

Why are we saying it was a free for, like, it's a get away with fighting. No.

00:11:21 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 10:

Yeah, but there's also that chance, too, that he doesn't, I'm not saying that he wouldn't, but that he doesn't win the fight. And then that's on camera. That you just lost a fight to a bunch of teenagers.

00:11:31 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 3:

Would we hear about it? This story would never have been brought up. Because if I was Wes, I would not have even repeated if I got beat up by a bunch of teenagers in the parking lot. What's going on, Dorothy?

00:11:42 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 6:

Hi, yes. First time caller. Been listening for a couple of hours. Aw, yay. We're so glad you called.

00:11:49 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 3:

What's going on?

00:11:51 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 6:

Okay, I was at Planet Fitness the other day, and I was waiting for a treadmill, and it was a girl that was on the phone. It seemed like she was having an argument with her boyfriend, and I'm just sitting there waiting. She was just cussing him out, so the employee came over that was cleaning the equipment. He said, hey, you can't be on your phone, and he started going off on him, dropping the F-bomb.

00:12:11 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 7:

Oh, jeez.

00:12:12 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 6:

This is her phone. She can do whatever, and I was just like, okay.

00:12:15 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, do they not understand That you, you know Well, I'm trying to think of a Planet Fitness slogan Right now, what would be a good Planet Fitness slogan For that person? Yeah, no long cat

00:12:26 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 6:

They should have, like, the bill Yeah, the lung alarm

00:12:30 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 3:

They should have, actually, call Brian Reif And see if we can get a bell for people that have their phones On too much Julie, hi

00:12:38 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 4:

Hi, okay, real quick, because I'm about to lose you We're at the airport So how about when you're in the movie theater And instead of the ringers going off really loud They have the strobe light

00:12:47 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 11:

Oh my gosh They think they put it to silence It's not distracting But it looks like a disco going on up there

00:12:52 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 3:

That's funny Whitney, what's up? Be safe on your flight, by the way If you're going on a flight What's going on, Whitney?

00:12:59 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 5:

What's going on? Good morning So I work at Lifetime And there are always Like in the evenings There's always younger kids after school Tiktoking in the locker room

00:13:08 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 11:

We're getting a lot of text messages Of people saying that in the same spot Yep, yep

00:13:13 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's like, I mean, and like as an employee, you have to say something. And yeah, so we're, I'm like, every time I'm in there, I'm like, it's a locker room. And they'll get me like, oh, we didn't know. There's naked people walking around here. What didn't you know?

00:13:26 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 3:

Right, right. Do you give permission to Wes to give a citizen's arrest next time that happens?

00:13:31 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, absolutely. All right, thank you. All right, have a good day, guys.
