Mojo in the morning. Whenever I see a woman crying, I instantly think that something bad happened in their relationship. If I see somebody crying, I never assume that maybe they heard a sad song or maybe they had something. I don't know. they were cutting going on yeah you reduce women to relationships i feel like anytime i see that yeah like see somebody crying i'm very involved yeah um shannon was crying yesterday i was having

a day yesterday it was just one of those days i think i don't know if if you're like this anna or guys too it's not just women but i am the type of person and i realize i'm doing it more and more lately, which I don't like, um, or I like something will happen. I'll have a thought about something or someone. And I just like stuff it down, stuff it down, stuff it down instead of confronting it or talking to that person about it. It was like a lot of that had started to bubble up for me yesterday. Um, layered on top of, I've got a family member who is dealing with some pretty heavy stuff. I made an appointment for my dog, Charlie. We talked about this yesterday to be seen by a vet on Saturday to kind of give me like a realistic expectation of what's going on with him and so I sat in the parking lot of Westbourne Market in I think it's Berkeley right there and I was just like a mess and I'm like okay keep it together you got to go in you got to do some grocery shopping and so I walk into the store I get my car I put my purse in my car and I start going through my list like going through the produce section and this the sweetest listener of all time her name's Ashley I did not know her but came up to me and introduced herself and said she was a fan of the show and I could see her eyes well up with tears and she's like I feel so dumb saying this to you but you are such an inspiration and you have gotten me through you know so many hard times and she's like I I just feel like I need to give you a hug she hugs me and I could just feel like the hot tears running down my face just in that moment and I said to her you don't have any idea how much I needed your hug in this moment and so you know we talked for a second and I walked away and I had to like go into an aisle and just I could like I and cry and like let loose because it was you know it was it was it made my whole entire day that somebody else thought that they needed a hug from me and i really needed that hug from her so i i put out like a a memo i don't know what else you call it like on my instagram yesterday i'm like if this is you please reach out to me and she did because i didn't get i didn't get a picture with her or anything i just knew her name and she ended up um sending me an instagram i'm like you don't even you have no idea what that men.

And how bad, I'm like, you were my angel in that moment. How bad I needed that. Yeah. She actually just sent me a message this morning, too.

Could you imagine being the deli counter worker at the Westbourne Market with two women crying?

We were in the produce section by the tomatoes. We got enough boar's head for you. It's okay.

You were in the produce section.

And she was embarrassed that she wanted to give me a hug and was crying. And I'm like, I was, it was just such overwhelming kindness that I needed in that moment.

All right. I got to hear, I want to hear where is the most random place that you cried?

Cause I will say all the other shoppers are like, doing one of these, pushing their carts by us.

I will never forget crying on a flight once I was on the, I was on the flight and the person sitting, I was going through some, some tough stuff. we were going through some tough stuff and i got on the flight and just had a conversation and i'm like on there and i just got kind of emotional and cry and i had my airpods in and i'm listening to a song and the song came on it was like my sad list and it was jason mraz uh um i'm yours i'll never give up on you i think it was oh i'll never get whatever the heck it is i don't know how to sing it it'll make you cry singing it and i'm crying and literally the lady sitting next to me and she was a little old lady like little old lady like the nice ones in the adam sandler movies and she touches my leg and i'm like oh my god higher oh god oh my god no i take my earpod out and she goes it's gonna be okay honey and it was one of those situations i'm like oh thank you appreciate it boom and i never and i'm thinking oh my god this is embarrassing like i'm on the

don't that's i don't know maybe there's uh some other nationalities inside of my blood 23 and me but um no i don't cry a lot i think um i cry like i told you i cry every time i hear this chris brown song called four years old that always makes me think of my dad and play it mojo and me feeling like i have to that i mean i gotta be in the shower but that song always makes me cry um i cry watching kobe highlight reels if i think about my grandma or something like that

potentially like losing her or something i'll cry if you feel that like you're gonna cry like this was me yesterday i had this frog in my throat and i'm like okay pull it together gotta go to grocery store i am not one of those people that can just let it like let it pass it's coming out

it's coming out if you see somebody cry in public like if you if somebody was there at the market with you and they saw you cry like do you feel like you want to go and comfort them and say you know i want to sure like i almost want to say is everything okay you know what i mean like but i

always wonder if people want that like do you yeah nine times out of ten i feel like you're never going to get a real answer it's always going to be no i'm fine like maybe the one time somebody was like you know what this is what's happening but yeah more often than not it's no i'm fine

on the air hey how y'all doing so the one time i cried um i had a friend that worked at pixar studios um it's always been a dream job of mine and she gave me a tour with my kids and right when i got to the guys ever been to pixar there's a big ball like the logo with the light um the light lamp and um i just started bursting out crying because it's always been my dream job and just having my kids there and everything i know i sound emotional but i'm trying to man up for kev but it was just really cool walking around and seeing like you know being an animator myself um just seeing all the drawings and seeing all the different you know uh future projects i even knew toy story 5 was coming out before it even came out i need your number

the menace hey yeah so this is more about when we cry and what happens and like i'm not a religious person but when that person when that little old lady puts her hand on your knee and says it's going to be okay or with shannon uh getting that hug from a complete stranger to me that is god absolutely by god it's just within all of us and you know we get exactly what we need at the right moment and have you i'm very grateful to see that have you ever been in a public place crying and kind of caught you off guard oh absolutely i mean this is kind of one of the funnier places where I've cried in yoga, and I'm in a downward, I mean, I'm going to go into, you know, fetal position or whatever, you know, and I'm in there, and all of a sudden, the tears just start streaming, and I'm like, who cries in yoga?

It's so funny you say that, because there was a period in my life where I did a bunch of yoga, and people would sob, crying.

It's because you are alone with your thoughts. It's like, yes, you are so in the zone and your thoughts are just going. So I think that's what it is.

I never really got emotional during it, but the people around me would get emotional and you would watch them and you're like, God, this is really wild. Like I, you want to help out, but you want to let them have their moment there.

And you can totally pick up on their energy. And of course, afterwards, uh, one of the other yogis comes up, gives me a big hug afterwards, you know, it was like, just one of those things, you know, I'm like, I'm just very grateful to be in a place in my life where I see that today. Yeah. First time, long time, by the way. So we lost my brother unexpectedly two weeks ago. Very healthy, very fit, very happy. um leaves three beautiful kids behind and my sister-in-law so um and he was my rock my best friend um but on sunday um i was at the gym as at planet and i was i do it like an hour walk like an incline and i was just sobbing i mean like i lost it like doubled over and then i just would keep going and doubled over finally someone stepped on the treadmill next to me and she kind of looked at me. And at first I was like, well, there's 20 other treadmills that are open. If you don't want to be next to the crying girl, you probably should move. But she kind of just looked at me and she goes, are you okay? And then she kind of shared a similar story and gave me a little bit of advice, but just, you know, a sign from God and just trying to hold on to that. So it's those little things that are super um important that people don't realize so we're thinking we're thinking of your brother we're yeah we're thinking of your brother thank you there's only 40 so long life

morning hi i just wanted to say you know sometimes i think as a society right now we're really like not connected with you know social media and whatnot and i just want to share a story i'm 25 now um and when i was probably seven i went with my mom to go through um the drive-thru for mcdonald's she just wanted a coffee it was late at night after my swim practice in the winter time close to christmas and she had saw that the woman in the drive-thru window was um clearly upset not having a good day so she pulled around went inside and asked if she could talk to her which my mom would probably kill me if she knew I was telling people this but and she figured out that she was basically having to decide between getting her kids diapers or any Christmas gifts um this year so my mom ended up talking to her um figuring out where she lived and that whole night I was tired it was before school we went and we did all the diapers all the Christmas shopping all of that And she left a note. We dropped it off at her house so she could give the Christmas gifts.

her to her family that year that's an incredible story and I think it just you know it shows it pays off that obviously like we said we don't love crying in public but sometimes just human connection is just kind of what people need at the end of the day yeah too often we ignore and

just go oh that person must have been having a bad day but that was probably one of the greatest
