Mojo in the Morning.

00:02:55 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 6:

And now, back to Mojo in the Morning.

00:02:58 - 00:03:05 | Speaker 7:

All right, it is Mojo in the Morning. So, Reese, our director of social impact, is up to some shenanigans.

00:03:05 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 3:

I'm up to something.

00:03:07 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 7:

You are up to something, Reese.

00:03:09 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 3:

Yep, you know me.

00:03:10 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 7:

And he wants to tell the person that he played the trick on live on the radio about it.

00:03:19 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 3:

I think it's officially time that she knows.

00:03:21 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 7:

Who would you like to come in the studio right now?

00:03:23 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 3:

Lydia, if you would be so kind.

00:03:26 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 7:

Associate producer, Lydia. She's the nicest human being in the entire world. How could you do this, Rhys?

00:03:33 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 3:

What's up, Lydia? Looking great today, as per usual.

00:03:37 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 7:

So, Lydia, do you have any idea what this... By the way, first off, before we get into that, Lydia, how did last week go? I know it was finals week for you, right?

00:03:47 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was actually awful. I was on a film site yesterday for 13 hours finishing my capstone course, so...

00:03:53 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 7:

Really? You go to Wayne State?

00:03:55 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:03:56 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 7:

And so all last week, you had to take some time away from the show and from the station because you were doing what you were doing for the school. But this is it, though, right? Good, give it up for her. That's unbelievable. I'm so proud of you. Now back to Reese's shenanigans.

00:04:14 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 3:

So the other day I'm walking out of work and I'm feeling the inner seven-year-old within me.

00:04:21 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I know what you did. I know what you did.

00:04:26 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 3:

She's pointing, by the way.

00:04:28 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 6:

She's giving him the finger in here.

00:04:29 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 3:

I find myself behind Lydia's car with one of those car sharpies. and i don't know what came into me and made me write this but all of a sudden i wrote honk it's my birthday but low enough where lydia would never see it so i was hoping that maybe within the last week or so she was driving around and got a couple honks i did i was leaving school

00:04:51 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 2:

and there was people honking at me and i was like what is going on i looked at my rearview mirror i was like something has to be going on and i see honk it's my birthday Thank you.

00:05:00 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 5:

I immediately flipped on like the back windshield wiper So it would go away I was like who did this I was like Reese it had to be Reese

00:05:08 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 3:

And it was not your well it was your birthday But it's not been your birthday recently

00:05:11 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 5:

No

00:05:12 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 3:

Come on Reese sing it to her

00:05:17 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 2:

Go Lydia

00:05:19 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 4:

It's not your birthday But I still wrote something on your back car window Hey

00:05:24 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 3:

I like that That's awesome You know what's funny is that he can get away with it, though, can't he?

00:05:34 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:05:34 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 3:

Guys like him can get away with it because he's so innocent and kind, but deep down inside, he's evil. You think? He's not evil. He's just a 10-year-old boy.

00:05:45 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 2:

He's evil. Why? Look at that guy.

00:05:47 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 4:

What? Look at the evil in those eyes. I could never describe Reese as evil. Thank you, Shannon. He's too sweet. I love you. Wait. Wait. KP, come on.

00:05:55 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

Wait till you see what he writes on the rest of our cars later today. And it won't just be in the dirtiness of the car window. Who knows?

00:06:04 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 5:

You still can see the fade on my back window that says birthday. All it does is just say birthday.

00:06:09 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 2:

When I was in high school, and I don't know why in God's name I did this, but I had a Toyota Celica convertible, and it had like a plastic back window, right? Like with a top. and in that paint that you can paint on cars with, I wrote, I want to be sexy. You wrote that on your own window? I have no idea why. Like seniors, there had to be some sort of inside joke, right? So seniors, you know, everybody paints their car at the end of the year. Well, I'm an idiot and I didn't wash it off right away. So the paint baked in the sun in this back plastic window. And then when I washed the paint off, it was indented in my window. And my mom's like, unless you can pay for it, that's how you're driving around. So I went to college with it like that. It was so embarrassing. People all looking at you like, oh, look at this. That was permanently written on my car.

00:07:00 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. By the way, it's funny how some people can get away with little pranks like this. And Lydia, at all, did you think it was him? Or who did you think it was?

00:07:09 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I knew it was him right away. You knew it, right? I was like, there's no way anyone else put this on my back window.

00:07:13 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 3:

Reese gets away with this stuff because he's got that sweet demeanor to him, though, you know? You think? Yeah. Like, if that were, say, Spike that did that to you, Lydia, you'd be mother-effing that guy, wouldn't you?

00:07:25 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 5:

No, I don't think so. But I don't think I would. Maybe. Maybe. This is how you fix it. You just got to do, it's my birthday, and then her Venmo, then people will Venmo. Oh, my God. Oh, yeah.

00:07:39 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 2:

Do you think anybody would?

00:07:42 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 3:

That's actually a great idea. Let's do it. Let's just do it on all of our cars. See who gets the most notice

00:07:49 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 1:

I survive finals week Venmo

00:07:51 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

Buy me a drink Reese is the guy That I'm telling you You will drive a truck one day With those little nut sacks Right there where they hit you 100% You know those guys That drive around With those whole things Or do you have Why do you guys have those By the way

00:08:08 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 2:

I could not figure out why

00:08:10 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 3:

Or Calvin You'll have a Calvin Peeing on something Peeing on your family Yeah and we'll get away with uh with that um i think that's cute that's funny uh my favorite though is when reese came in he goes i want to bring this up on the air but surprise her with it

00:08:27 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 5:

as if she didn't already know you know what's crazy is i never even said anything to you about

00:08:33 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 3:

it i would just let it go i know you kept that really low key yeah we were talking about stress in in you know earlier this hour we're talking about how crazy it's been you with your you know uh exams and your projects and stuff that you've done you've handled it pretty well honestly i've

00:08:49 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 5:

been having mental breakdowns i'm not gonna lie it's been really tough it is it's tough but shout out to everyone who's working so hard in school it really is tough and going to work full time like your hours are are ridiculous yeah i'm usually here before school and then i come in sometimes after school or i'll you know come in on the weekends just to finish up some work what are you gonna do to celebrate i might have a little party i'm having a girls party girls only party as the girls on the show know but i might also do something else wait a second are you just

00:09:20 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 3:

saying that because your dad doesn't let you have like the the guys all over and you have to like

00:09:25 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 1:

sneak them in this is why it's a girls party mojo you can't even be trusted with anything

00:09:29 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 3:

i just love that my favorite with you is we talked about this before on the show is that Your mom actually loves how much you work your butt off. And I know your dad does too, but you have to hide everything around your poor dad.

00:09:43 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 5:

I know. It has to be hidden until I can get married and someone else can, quote unquote, take care of me. You know, the Chaldean mentality. Yeah.

00:09:52 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 3:

What would your dad do if you married Reese?

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. Maybe he'd be happy. He'd be honored. He'd be happy. And so would I.

00:10:00 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 4:

Could you imagine, though? I can imagine. I would love to see what your dad's reaction would be. Because your dad met him already, right? He's met him before at our... He almost broke my arm when he gave me a handshake. I'm not going to lie. Really? Do you think that's how you do it? Wait a second. That's how you do it. Do you think that was Lydia's dad's way of saying, don't F with my daughter at all? Yes, 100%.

00:10:24 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 1:

Or do you think that was him giving you his blessing?

00:10:27 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 3:

Oh. I guess I've never gone out, right?

00:10:31 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 1:

No.

00:10:32 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 3:

Okay, okay. Totally just friends. Yeah.

00:10:34 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

Well, Reese is so shy, I figure, like, he won't ask. Maybe he'll write it on your windshield, but... I could do that.

00:10:41 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 4:

Could you imagine, though, would that not be the surprise of surprise if we found out that one day Lydia and Reese were, like, getting married? Happily married and a bunch of Caldian babies just running around. There you go. Let's go. So would you, Reese, do you love Lydia so much? Would you convert? Would you become?

00:11:03 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 5:

100%. I would love to become a Caldean. I'm not. Let's see you do the dance. Come on. It's actually kind of my dream. I'd love to start dancing.

00:11:13 - 00:11:15 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Let's do it. Come on, Reese.

00:11:17 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 3:

Habibi.

00:11:17 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, let me hear your Habibi.

00:11:20 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 3:

I don't like that.

00:11:23 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 4:

What's the dance called At the wedding that you guys do Where you bring out What's the thing with the sticks and all that stuff Is that what it is

00:11:33 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 1:

It's my favorite part When I get married you'll for sure have your own personalized stick All the guys on the show will

00:11:40 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 4:

Really? We all get to walk around with it

00:11:43 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 1:

I love it

00:11:44 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 4:

When you get married to Reese

00:11:46 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 5:

No I kind of want a stick so I feel like we can't get married

00:11:49 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 2:

You are too I definitely want a stick

00:11:53 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 5:

For sure.

00:11:55 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 4:

Megan and Mike, you guys have never been to a Chaldean wedding, have you? Or KP, you've never been to a Chaldean wedding. I was going to ask what the stick was for. First off, let me tell you, a Chaldean wedding is not just a wedding.

00:12:08 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 3:

No, it's the Oscars. I literally stood. I'm not joking. I've only been to one, and I will never forget it in my whole entire life. I stood outside because the women coming, I was so severely underdressed. the women coming in were weird like it was like the red it was better than the red carpet I can't go

00:12:26 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 4:

you don't have to worry about it guess what there's a thousand people at the thing so you don't have to worry about people

00:12:34 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 2:

you don't want to be the worst or most underdressed out of a thousand people that makes it worse

00:12:39 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 5:

no no no nobody notices we'd have to tell Reese it starts an hour before it actually starts maybe even two hours Yeah, just to make sure.

00:12:49 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. It is a lot of fun. All right, Lydia, get your dad on the phone. Let's call him up. Let me break the news to him.

00:12:56 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 1:

Is that my mom texting in saying, dad loves him? Oh, that's hilarious. It is. It is.

00:13:02 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 3:

And then I think that's your dad saying, I love him.

00:13:07 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 4:

Hold on, KP called her. Put her on hold, Brooklyn. Lydia's mom is on the phone with us right now. How are you? Daddy, guys.

00:13:16 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 2:

Good morning.

00:13:17 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 4:

We just married your daughter off.

00:13:20 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 2:

Yes, let's marry her off to Reese.

00:13:24 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 5:

Let's go. Now, do you really like Reese, or are you just trying to get Lydia out of the house?

00:13:30 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 2:

Both. Both. I know, I really, really love him, and we talk about him all the time at home.

00:13:40 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 1:

Oh, she'll make dinner, and she'll be like, do you think Reese will want this tomorrow for lunch? Wow.

00:13:45 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my gosh. That is so cute. And it's been super, it's like the best food I've ever had.

00:13:50 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 2:

How about this? Oh, my God. I have the biggest smile sitting here at work going, yes, please. I hit you.

00:13:56 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 4:

If Lydia doesn't marry Reese, because it might be weird around the building if they got married to each other. Nah. Nah, it'd be great. What if you just adopted him? You just adopted Reese and he can come, you know, live with you guys.

00:14:08 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 2:

Listen, I literally cleaned out the spare room And I tell him every time I see him Or I talk to him If he ever wanted to move in with us

00:14:19 - 00:14:38 | Speaker 4:

You realize you would eat like a king I would just be a king Can we do this to Lydia's dad We want to tell him that Reese is staying there And then one morning he comes downstairs In his boxer shorts or something and sits next to Lydia's dad at the kitchen table.

00:14:38 - 00:14:39 | Speaker 5:

My whitey tighties.

00:14:41 - 00:14:48 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. I don't know. I think dad would, like, freak out, but, you know, he would be accepted because it would be reased.

00:14:48 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. But there's one – I know exactly where your dad's spot is, too, at the kitchen table. Yeah. You do not sit in that spot. It's right at the end there, right?

00:14:56 - 00:14:57 | Speaker 1:

Yep, it's right at the top.

00:14:57 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 4:

He can look out at the – well, he can't look out at the window.

00:15:00 - 00:15:15 | Speaker 3:

at the neighbors. Cause he keeps all the blinds closed. They have this beautiful backyard and these beautiful, like, you know, neighborhood and stuff. And he's got the blinds all closed because he says to the neighbors, he doesn't want them looking into his house.

00:15:16 - 00:15:18 | Speaker 2:

Like nobody cares what the inside of our house looks like.

00:15:19 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 3:

We love you so much. You take care of yourself. Okay. All right. We'll see you. Bye future mother-in-law.
