It's the second date update on Mojo in the Morning.

00:00:03 - 00:00:39 | Speaker 3:

Not getting a call back after you went on a date. We're going to find out what the story is. If you are ever in this situation, text DATE to 95500 and we'll get you on the show. Hey, watch the Mojo in the Morning show on social media. YouTube, Facebook, watch it live in the morning. Also, check out our TikToks too and go see our War of the Roses. Make sure you follow us, Mojo in the Morning. And, of course, Channel 955 in Detroit has all the War of the Roses on there. What is the story? So is it James getting ghosted? What's going on, James? How you doing?

00:00:42 - 00:00:42 | Speaker 1:

Hello.

00:00:43 - 00:00:59 | Speaker 3:

Hi. By the way, I like that you did this, that you came to us and said that you were getting ghosted because it's very rare that we have guys that will admit to us that they're not getting calls back. And, guys, you don't have to worry about it. There are women that won't call you back after you go on a date. What was your date? What did you guys do?

00:01:00 - 00:01:03 | Speaker 1:

Well, we had a good time.

00:01:04 - 00:01:05 | Speaker 3:

Okay. What did you do?

00:01:06 - 00:01:26 | Speaker 1:

Oh, well, we went to dinner. And went to dinner. And I thought it was going pretty well. She's laughing. We're having a good time. You know, I was having a good time. And we talked about how it wasn't just a hookup. And, you know, I thought everything went really well.

00:01:26 - 00:01:29 | Speaker 3:

So you said that you were both looking for a relationship? Is that what you were saying?

00:01:32 - 00:01:41 | Speaker 1:

Well, I don't think we said exactly that. We didn't get to quite that level, but we did talk about how this wasn't just, we're not just trying to, you know, fool around.

00:01:41 - 00:01:47 | Speaker 3:

Okay. And what did you guys do after dinner? Did you guys go out afterwards or just say goodbye and say we'll plan another day?

00:01:49 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 1:

We, exactly. We didn't, I was just trying to take it, you know, one step at a time. And so I said, you know, we talked about how we wanted to see each other again. We talked about a second date.

00:02:02 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 3:

So you guys did not go anywhere after you ate dinner. That's what I was asking. All right, let's find out what's going on. Let's get right to her and see what the story is and see if there's any chance of another date. Nyla is her name. Nyla, will you say hello to James?

00:02:17 - 00:02:17 | Speaker 2:

Hello.

00:02:20 - 00:02:22 | Speaker 3:

James? Nyla says hello.

00:02:22 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 2:

Hi, hi.

00:02:24 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Nyla.

00:02:25 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 2:

Hi.

00:02:25 - 00:02:39 | Speaker 3:

Hey Nyla, Nyla's Mojo and Shannon and Megan and Kev Wanting to know what's going on What is the story? Is everything good for a possible another date with James?

00:02:41 - 00:02:59 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, no Okay Yeah, I just, this is so weird You drank like a lot And I just, I don't want to date an alcoholic

00:02:59 - 00:03:04 | Speaker 3:

Oh, well, I don't know if I would go with it right to an alcoholic thing

00:03:04 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 2:

How much did he drink? He had six drinks in two hours

00:03:10 - 00:03:13 | Speaker 3:

James, wait a second, James, you had six drinks?

00:03:14 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 1:

I don't know, I don't think I had that many I mean, we were having a good time

00:03:19 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 2:

That right there, dude

00:03:21 - 00:03:35 | Speaker 3:

Real quick, I have to be very careful of accusing somebody of being something, especially something as concerning as being an alcoholic. James, are you okay with us asking you some personal questions?

00:03:37 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 1:

No, go ahead.

00:03:39 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 3:

What were you drinking? What were you drinking?

00:03:43 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 1:

Listen, we started with a couple beers. I had a couple beers, and then went and we did some, we're doing some just whiskey sodas after that.

00:03:53 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 3:

And she says that you drank, would she say six? She said six.

00:03:58 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 1:

I don't think it was that, I don't think it was that many, but I wasn't thinking about it. Why are you, why are you counting my drinks? Was he acting like he had had six drinks?

00:04:08 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 2:

Was that the issue, or it was just that you were counting the drinks and noticing that it was a lot, in your opinion? Yeah, and I just kept, like, he started to slur his speech, and I can't go down that road again, you know? Like, it's just not for me.

00:04:25 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 1:

I was a little nervous, you know? That's what I thought. A little nervous, first date, normal, pretty nervous to do that, pretty normal to say that, to act that way, have a few drinks, and a first date, have a good time. You were drinking, too, you know?

00:04:38 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, but not six. How many drinks did you have, Nyla? I had two. Okay. Quick question for you. When you guys said goodbye, you guys didn't drive together, or did you?

00:04:53 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

That was a little disconcerting to me. He was like, oh, I'm going to.

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 6:

walk back to my apartment love that he made the right choice so yeah did you make sure that he

00:05:09 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 9:

got back or no she texted me home safe okay because i got a couple of thoughts on this one

00:05:17 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 3:

and one of my thoughts is god there'd be nothing worse than when you that you have to like babysit somebody but you also don't want to let somebody get behind the wheel of a car so thank god he wasn't getting behind the wheel of a car but also if you go on a date and you're on a first date with somebody are you responsible for getting them home or is it not your responsibility um that's a question i'll ask the listeners there before you have i've i've had to get

00:05:39 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 9:

ubers like i just i've again this after the forced drink i thought i can't i can't be here again i was with a man for years that was an alcoholic and it's such a red flag to me and i can understand

00:05:58 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 3:

that yeah it's it's just it's scary um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 i really want to be very careful that we're talking to a guy here that i don't know his circumstances and i don't know if this is a one-time thing for him but james if you did have six drinks over the course of even a long night that's a lot of drinks to have um but we want to make sure that you're okay and everything

00:06:27 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 5:

is okay uh yeah uh i'm i'm this is all a surprise to me if you're if you're on a date with somebody you know and you're not you know and having a good time and give off the impression that you're going to talk to them afterwards and keep chatting what and all of a sudden now this is the first time i hear that apparently i was drinking too much i mean i don't it's just be up front with people as they're doing it i mean that's how i feel about it but she's probably already a little

00:07:01 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 6:

bit worried about safety measure here and if you've had that much to drink in a short period of time i'm sure she's not going to want to be confrontational with you exactly because again

00:07:13 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 9:

i've been there done that and have the t-shirt i don't need to be here again

00:07:17 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 5:

i you know the thing is i like to i like to drink i like to have a good time we were having a good time i'm a bigger i'm a little bigger you know we're eating oh six six drinks over the course you know we were i was that was you know i was not to doesn't affect me that much you know well

00:07:39 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 3:

that's a little bit six drinks affects anybody but i mean it probably looked like 12 to her

00:07:44 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 2:

because she's bringing in preconceived notions of past experiences.

00:07:46 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 1:

And that's what I was going to say. And I hate the word triggering because I feel like it's so overused. But if that was triggering to her and she said it was a red flag because she has had a past and has been in a relationship with a man where that was an issue, I can totally understand where she was probably more put off than anybody else would be in that situation.

00:08:06 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

Christina, what did you want to say? It's Mojo on the Morning 2nd Date Update.

00:08:09 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 7:

Good morning, guys. So this is a tricky situation And not saying this man has a problem Either without knowing him But I have been there as well I have the t-shirt And when you have been in that situation It's a non-negotiable If you haven't been in that situation Then you might say Oh you know what He was probably a little nervous That he was super fun I want to hang out again to see But when you've been through it No, you don't want to see If it's an issue or not So chop it up as It's not for you So I totally understand that

00:08:38 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 3:

Mojo in the morning What's up Chelsea?

00:08:41 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, I actually, my opinion has changed a little bit. I was going to, oh, good morning, y'all, by the way. Good morning. I was going to say that I can understand both sides because, you know, everybody's been on a first date. We all get like that, and sometimes stuff happens, and I can understand why, you know, it could be a red flag for her. But now, seeing how hard this dude is defending himself is telling me a lot. Like, you could at least be a little bit apologetic or empathetic with her. You're sitting here telling people that you don't do this all the time, but the way you're defending it is telling me that you do do this all the time. Like, I feel like this is something that he feels like he needs to defend hard, and you can't understand why it made her uncomfortable. Like, that's just, dude just needs to take this as a lesson learned and maybe slow his roll a little bit in the future.

00:09:39 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

Mike, comment. Mojo in the morning second date update.

00:09:42 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think he probably just shouldn't even want that baggage because, I mean, right now I feel like anybody she's with is going to have a two-drink maximum.

00:09:52 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 6:

No, I don't think she said that, though. I think six drinks in two hours on a first date is a lot different than Thank you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 3:

drinking casually with somebody or going out to a bar after you know a person well enough and you've decided to have a fun night out to me this is this is scary if i'm just meeting somebody and i'm alone with you and you have six drinks in two hours that is a scary situation yeah

00:10:17 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 5:

but i mean he was responsible enough to walk home so he wasn't getting behind the wheel but he got

00:10:22 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 3:

drunk enough that he needed to walk home on a first date that's scary yeah he didn't he didn't

00:10:29 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

have to be drunk though because i mean honestly at six drinks i won't be drunk but i'll still walk because i don't want to you know get arrested or anything because that's drunk driving yeah i

00:10:40 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 2:

listen i i can't uh can't sit there and defend i i think i had four drinks on friday but it was over the course of a few hours and i was so drunk i couldn't feel my feet um but i just think that you don't want to go out with somebody if that is something that does bring up the past and something that you've dealt with a person that is a drinker and i don't know if that's something that you know you ask right off the bat and say hey you know what i'm not really interested in this but six drinks is a lot like megan said she was able to gather that information for herself

00:11:12 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 3:

and no she was uncomfortable in that situation what one last call ben what do you want to say

00:11:18 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 4:

yeah um i'm siding with the guy on this one she i feel like she's being a little extra If you're traumatized by someone with a drinking history, why are you going to the bar as a first date?

00:11:32 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 2:

Well, they were at a restaurant, though. It wasn't a bar.

00:11:35 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 4:

Right. So if you go to a restaurant and have a drink for a first date, me personally, with my experience with alcohol, six drinks over two hours I don't feel like is excessive.

00:11:47 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 2:

Six drinks over two hours you don't think is an excessive thing?

00:11:49 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 4:

No, if he wasn't being belligerent.

00:11:51 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 2:

Would you drink six bottles of water over the course of two hours? That's a lot, even just water. But then now you're putting alcohol in your system. You don't think that's six water or six...

00:12:05 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 4:

Well, like he said, he's a bigger guy. If they're having a good time, he thought they were having a good time. If he knew alcohol would be a problem, he wouldn't have had six drinks.

00:12:13 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 2:

I mean, I don't know.

00:12:15 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 4:

I don't see how this guy is an alcoholic or even considered to be an alcoholic.

00:12:18 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 2:

I'm not going to say he's an alcoholic and we've got to be careful for purposes of having somebody, you know, legally come after us for defamation. But I'm going to say this, though. I think Six seems like it's, you know, definitely a party night out. You know, that seems like it's a big one. It's a lot.

00:12:34 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

I think he was trying to have a good time. And I think had he known her history or known it be an issue, I don't think this guy would have even drank that much. I think he was, like he said, nervous and trying to have a good time. and I think she should definitely give him a second chance. I would not.

00:12:52 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 2:

You think these guys are going to have a second chance? It's a wrap, bro. Nyla. If it ain't an A, me, I'm never going to see each other again. Right. Nyla and James, I don't think there's a second chance with you guys. Am I right in saying that?

00:13:06 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm sorry. It's just the way you drank, the slurring of the speech. Like, it just really, it's. I feel bad. Maybe I shouldn't have said you're an alcoholic, but that's the vibe that I got, and I'm sorry, but it's just not for me.

00:13:26 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 2:

James, would you even want to go on another date with her?

00:13:30 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 6:

I would still. Why not? I mean, I would still go ahead and do it. I mean, there's a bit of an issue that I have with someone not more than a little bit of an issue. You just get, I don't like when you don't get, you don't, you know, I don't want to be ghosty like that. It's not my style. I don't believe in that.

00:13:49 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. But how do you text that? I'm not interested because I think you're drinking too much. Second date update on Mojo in the morning.

00:13:56 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 3:

This is the home of the dirty on the 30. Throwback, throwdown. Second date update. And war of the roses. This is Mojo in the morning.
