This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:01:08 - 00:01:52 | Speaker 4:

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees. For me to be able to be accepted through FAFSA and to have Bishop State pay for all of my tuition, not only that, but the curriculums, you know, they make it so easy to understand on their website. Like I said, I'm a 40-year-old man, so I don't use technology too much, but it was very understandable where I needed to go. It was extremely fast. These past two years, things have just moved in a total different type of way. It's like its own moving entity to see things manifest the way that they do.

It's the second date update on Mojo in the Morning.

00:02:19 - 00:02:38 | Speaker 7:

Second date update, why are you not getting a call back? If you ever are faced with this, maybe you go on a date or two and then you don't hear from them anymore text date to 95500 standard tax and data rates to apply and we will call you up and get you on the show noah is on with us right now noah how how long

00:02:38 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 8:

have you guys been talking to each other noah hey good morning mojo um you know we've known each other through mutual friends for a while now we we went out on a couple of dates over the last month or six weeks and you know things were going really well I think she was like very into me the way she was texting me you know when you just know that someone's interested but then it just kind of fell away and I'm trying to figure out what happened with the pieces

00:03:10 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 7:

together have you guys hooked up at all

00:03:12 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 8:

we actually have hooked up okay

00:03:16 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 7:

so you guys you guys have gotten together enough where you guys have hooked up with each other now she's not calling you back you want to know what's going on pamela is on the phone with us right now pamela what's going on uh will you say hi to noah for us hi hi how are you i'm good how are you i'm good i'm good uh this is interesting actually yeah you're not good noah tell her what's going on tell her why

00:03:47 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 8:

what you've been uh thinking i i guess i'm just curious what happened because i feel like after the last date we had that things were going really well you seemed interested and we were texting but then you kind of stopped responding and sort of ghosted me um i mean yeah that's

00:04:11 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

accurate i guess why yeah i knew i wasn't making it up why'd you stop um well things are good until they weren't and uh yeah and and what does that mean exactly okay well um so noah and i right or you know he and i have been hooking up and then we thought well maybe we should start dating and then once that happened we like kind of flipped the friends with benefits stuff he uh said to me you know that he oh god his last girlfriend they broke up you know the reason they broke up and I was just like uh I don't want to be with a guy like that

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 1:

What was the reason that they broke up?

00:05:02 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 3:

He said that he cheated on her.

00:05:05 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 1:

Okay. And he, like, came clean with that information?

00:05:09 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 3:

Well, he was, like, I just want to be open and honest, and I don't want this to be like my other relationships. We just kept keeping secrets together, and I was like, okay, well, like, what? And he was like, well, I just think you should know that I cheated on my last girlfriend, but don't worry, like, I'm a changed man. And it's like, how many guys have said that? All of them.

00:05:35 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 6:

So he's getting dinged for being honest with you and telling you the truth about something bad that happened?

00:05:45 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 3:

Well, I mean, I wouldn't call it punishment. But it's like, you've already told me that you're a cheater. So now I know.

00:05:57 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 6:

Once a cheater, always a cheater?

00:06:00 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 4:

yeah that's great yeah that's not fair to me to say because i i did that in in good faith you know

00:06:07 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 3:

i was trying to be honest with you you did what you know that i learned cheat no no no no i i was

00:06:13 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 4:

that's rude i was honest with you and i and i wanted you know that was over two years ago and i have changed and i wanted to tell you the truth up front and i thought i was doing a good thing

00:06:28 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 3:

but i guess that's not true and well why you what makes you think that you've changed

00:06:34 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 6:

how do you know how do you know first off no have you you have changed you said

00:06:42 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

you have not cheated since then yeah absolutely i mean that was something that i i regretted in the past we you know besides the cheating there was a lot of issues in that relationship okay So I just wanted to start this one out with honesty and the truth. And I thought that that was the right thing to do. And I didn't think that, like you said, I would be punished for, you know, kind of being honest.

00:07:07 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 1:

I actually really applaud you putting it all on the table.

00:07:10 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 7:

If I could ask a quick question, Pamela, have you been in a relationship where you've been cheated on before?

00:07:16 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 2:

Absolutely.

00:07:17 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 7:

Okay.

00:07:18 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 2:

But I get where she's coming from, though, too. I'm sorry that he had issues in his past relationships, and I'm sorry that that led him to cheat. I commend him for being open and honest about it. But I don't think being open and honest about it means that you just get a pass for it affecting all of your future relationships. If people don't want to be with somebody who has cheated before and you give them that information from the get-go, I understand them leaving and saying, listen, you have shown that you are capable of making those decisions, and I don't want to get involved with somebody who's made them before. She's allowed to say that.

00:07:54 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 6:

And be a liar, Noah.

00:07:56 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 1:

And I don't agree with that. I don't think you should not admit it because then if we start a relationship and I find that out later, then I'm really not going to trust you.

00:08:06 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 2:

But I agree with you there. But somebody's allowed to say, cool, thank you for being honest. And somebody's allowed to say, thank you for being honest. I'm not looking to move forward with you. The bills are acceptable.

00:08:15 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 6:

balls 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 i'd love to know what your thoughts are did noah uh was he a fool

00:08:23 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 7:

for bringing this up i mean i don't think he was a fool for bringing it up the only the only reason i would agree that he was a fool is based on her reactions if it goes a month or a year and obviously nothing was wrong with noah outside of this which is why she was in a physical relationship and was considering moving it more to something serious emotional and consider dating him and moving into you know like boyfriend and girlfriend whatever they call it and this is the only thing And if it would continue for a year and she fell in love with him and then it came up, would it be a problem? Would you just throw him away because, quote, unquote, once a cheater, always a cheater?

00:08:53 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 1:

And remember, this is not like he said it on their first or second date. They've known each other for a very long time. The only reason she's not talking to him is because he cheated with somebody else.

00:09:03 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 5:

Right.

00:09:03 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 6:

So she knows what kind of heart this guy has other than that one time she doesn't approve of it. And that's why she's making him pay.

00:09:10 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, she's not fully invested in, like, they've been dating for a year.

00:09:14 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 6:

Rachel, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning, second date update. What are your thoughts on Pamela telling Noah she doesn't want another date because he admitted to cheating in his past? Rachel.

00:09:29 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 5:

Oh, hi. I agree with Megan, per usual. I think that women are allowed to set boundaries and have certain standards. And the only way you can recover from having a cheating phase or anything like that is when you're in high school and those relationships. just don't really matter but as an adult if you're capable of doing something like that you're going to keep doing it people don't change so it's okay to cheat just cheat when

00:09:53 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

you're in high school because relationships don't matter i i that makes no sense i hate to say it

00:10:00 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 8:

And I hate to say that all you're doing is you're making people not ever want to be truthful with you. People make mistakes in their past. We all have. And if you're getting judged off of your mistakes, I think that the guy seems like, you know, he's learned from his lesson. And we also don't know what that relationship was like. But Alyssa, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. Your thoughts? Hi, Alyssa. What's going on? It's a second date update. Alyssa. I don't think she's there anymore. She's not. Justin, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. Your thoughts. What's going on? Hi, Justin. Good morning. First time, long time.

00:10:38 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 7:

Hey, Justin.

00:10:40 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 8:

Justin, our phone lines this week have been kind of crazy. People can't hear us at the beginning. I picked up the phone line. You couldn't tell I picked up the phone line for you?

00:10:50 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 9:

No, I can hear you right away.

00:10:52 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 8:

Okay, good.

00:10:52 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 9:

All right, go ahead.

00:10:53 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 8:

What's going on?

00:10:55 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 9:

Hey, for my guy, it's experience like that. You live and you learn. You know, you might know the hurt you caused someone going through that experience. You move forward in the future. You don't make that same mistake.

00:11:10 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 8:

So just move on. And should he ever tell another girl, though, that he's done what he's done in the past? Or should he learn from this lesson that it could come back and bite him in the ass?

00:11:20 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 5:

But with that logic, then, it's everybody who's ever cheated has only ever cheated once. Because they learned the hurt, and they never did it again, and they moved on. And I think a lot of people know that that's not always the case.

00:11:32 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 8:

So, Megan, then should people who cheat never be able to be in another relationship ever again?

00:11:36 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 5:

I didn't say that at all. I just understand why some people say I'm not interested in dating somebody who's cheated before.

00:11:43 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 7:

But if you never cheated before, it doesn't mean that you won't cheat in your current relationship. That's correct. It doesn't completely absolve you of getting cheated on.

00:11:50 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 5:

I'm not saying that it does. I just said that you can prove that you're capable of doing it by doing it in the past.

00:11:55 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 4:

I think, Noah, you absolutely did the right thing by coming clean with that information. But I think you also have to be prepared. Obviously, whatever you had with Pam is not going to move any further. But I think you have to be prepared for in the future when you do share that information. You know the risk, right? And any woman who is dating you is allowed to do what she wants with that information. But I don't think that you stop sharing because of this. I think that's really important. It's an important piece of your story.

00:12:25 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 9:

thank you I appreciate that

00:12:28 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 7:

keep doing you bro she ain't ready for you

00:12:30 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 4:

and there's nothing wrong to Megan's point there's nothing wrong with her saying it's just not for me I would have appreciated it

00:12:38 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 5:

I think both of them are in the right

00:12:39 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 8:

I think the sad part is though if it was that they just met and this happened but they known each other for a while and she knows what kind of guy he is so much that she gave him a chance to go on a date and she's going to judge him off of something that happened in his past i don't know i think that's dating that's where it's wrong uh well i think that it's more so that you just meet and then you find something out but if you know a person and have been friends with him for a while enough to now say we're gonna take that friendship to a dating level yeah i think i don't know i think she's being a little too judgy but uh second date
