This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:01:06 - 00:01:51 | Speaker 2:

My name is Medterica, Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school. but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.

Mojo in the Morning Show, phone number 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is the telephone number. So, I'm looking at the word that you used to title this next topic. And when I saw it, I thought, is this about Tony Travato, the sexual deceiver? Oh, man. No, Tony Travato is the sexual deviate. You are the sexual deceiver Listen to what Kevin is thinking about

00:02:57 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 8:

This is very hard for me to bring up But I'm doing so Because for one I need to release it off my spirit I feel like I already have But there's something beautiful about bringing it to the radio Something lethargic I think that's the right word I'm trying to use Cathartic Lethargic is your tire I am lethargic With it on my spirit so i need to be cathartic by bringing it out thank you thank thanks my my webster and my miriam over here thank you guys um dictionary names so i don't like that i went through this but hopefully it can help somebody by me bringing being transparent there was a young lady that i was friends with this is late last year for it so it's been a few months that i was friends with that i was interested in and her mom had fallen ill and i saw that as an opportunity to get closer to her now yes i wanted to be there as a friend but i would be lying if i said that was my intentions were fully pure i saw her mom's illness and i'm look i do not like that i did this i do not think that it was right but i gotta be real i saw that as an opportunity to get closer to her and to be the best friend that she could possibly have during this moment in hopes that it would lead her to like seeing me in a different light and possibly getting some booty okay dick absolutely okay and once i and that went on for a few weeks or whatever but i will say there was a moment where i was like okay this is absolutely wrong like i felt nasty i felt dirty i felt condemned and i kind of i never told her that and i probably won't because it's terrible but

00:04:39 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 1:

yeah i don't know hold on hold on wait so what are you asking for advice or what no this is confession oh it's just a confession yes yes that's good go say 28 our fathers and

00:04:52 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

did anything happen no like so after i realized what my intentions were again i felt nasty

00:05:00 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 7:

I felt ridiculous. I prayed about it and kind of distanced myself until I felt that my intentions were pure and I was reaching out and the friend that I know that she needed and the friend that I wanted to be until I was able to operate in that role. Oh, so you're good. By the way, but I wasn't. It was bad.

00:05:16 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 6:

This is not uncommon. And I'm going to tell you this. It's not uncommon because you experienced this, I think. Me? When you told everybody on the air that you were divorced, do you know how many guys were calling you?

00:05:30 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 3:

Not me.

00:05:31 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 6:

Well, they were calling all the rest of us.

00:05:34 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 3:

Okay, because they were not calling me.

00:05:36 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 6:

I want to be, by the way, you're full of it that they weren't calling you.

00:05:39 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 3:

I swear on my life, they were not.

00:05:43 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 6:

Because every guy.

00:05:43 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 3:

Which makes me feel even, I almost said a bad word, which makes me feel even crappier because that was not the case.

00:05:48 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 6:

I think what happens is when people see that you're going through a loss, and the loss can be, in this girl's case, or a tragic situation, her mom's sick, right?

00:06:00 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 1:

Do not compare.

00:06:01 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 6:

But when people see that somebody's sick, or somebody dies, or somebody gets a divorce, I think that naturally people look at that as, oh, maybe I might get some.

00:06:12 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 1:

Those are not comparable.

00:06:13 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 6:

They're all comparable. It's an emotional moment in your life.

00:06:16 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 1:

Having somebody become single and saying, oh, my opportunity has now opened up versus I think somebody is going through some crap because their parent is dying are two different

00:06:25 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 3:

things.

00:06:26 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 6:

But it's, you're looking, it's a vulnerability time.

00:06:29 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I get the blanket of that. Like they're in a vulnerable state.

00:06:33 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 6:

Hold on. Michelle wants to say something to Kevin. And then I want to ask some listeners. I want to ask listeners if you've ever done this. Have you ever pulled a cab or do you think somebody did this with you? 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Have at him, Michelle.

00:06:48 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 5:

Good morning, guys. Good Lord, Kevin. What is wrong with you?

00:06:52 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 7:

I know. I know.

00:06:55 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 5:

You are so much better than that. You're right. As someone who's... My mom has passed away. Both my parents have passed away. And, oh, my God. Like, that's the last thing that's going to be on that girl's mind is getting booty from Kevin when her mom is dying.

00:07:12 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 7:

I know.

00:07:12 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 5:

Kevin.

00:07:13 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 7:

Listen, it is not my proudest moment. I hate that I experienced that, and I repented, asked the Lord for forgiveness. I felt condemned. You're absolutely right.

00:07:23 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 5:

When you said you felt condemned, I stood out laughing because my text was, Jesus, Kev, come on.

00:07:30 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 6:

But think about the happiness she would have had when she was with Kevin, though. Maybe.

00:07:38 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 5:

That's for sure.

00:07:40 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. Don't you think this is a great opportunity to, like, make somebody not have to think about the pain of their mother being sick?

00:07:47 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 3:

I don't know, man.

00:07:48 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 6:

While she's laying next to this guy.

00:07:50 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 3:

Are you confessing this because you want to circle back and you want something to happen with this girl?

00:07:55 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 7:

We're still friends.

00:07:56 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

No, you want something more to come of it?

00:07:59 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I still do, but it's got to happen in the right way.

00:08:01 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 3:

That, like, nothing is going to happen. Okay, so this is one that I want updates on every couple of weeks. This to me feels like this is somebody that you care about so much. I do.

00:08:11 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 7:

I do.

00:08:11 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 6:

Did she sense it? Did she know? I don't think so.

00:08:14 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 7:

We never talked about that.

00:08:15 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 6:

So is this the first time that you're talking about it to anybody with us?

00:08:18 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:08:18 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 6:

Wow. Hold on. What's up, Amanda? Hi.

00:08:21 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 4:

Good morning, everyone.

00:08:22 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

00:08:22 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 6:

What's going on?

00:08:24 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 4:

Good for you, Kevin. That is awesome that you were able to see that in yourself, that you had those impure intentions. You were able to step back, not talk to her, let her have that space because you knew what you were doing. And then to come on the radio and admit that and be able to show other people like, hey, we're not all perfect. I mess up, you know, and then this is a way that I've messed up. And other people probably have done it, too.

00:08:49 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 6:

Is it bad that he also hangs out at funeral homes waiting for the widows to walk out?

00:08:54 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

You stop it. You stop it. No, no. Don't ruin this moment.

00:08:58 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God.

00:08:59 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 4:

Good for you, Kevin. Hold on.

00:09:00 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 6:

Let me read this one. 7-3-4. Tell me what you think of this one. 7-3-4 says, I had a coworker that lost their job. I called them up that night to tell them I wanted to take them out just so that they can get their mind off of work. We ended up having sex.

00:09:17 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 4:

I mean, a win's a win.

00:09:19 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 6:

We got a meal out of the deal. What's up, Carlos? How you doing?

00:09:23 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 4:

Pretty good.

00:09:23 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 6:

How you doing? Good. Kevin is a dog, isn't he?

00:09:29 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 2:

Hey, y'all. We all have a little bit of a... One situation I had was I used to work in a group home and at one point I was getting divorced and I had like five women I worked with all asked me out like two, two days after I got... They found I was getting divorced. Really?

00:09:43 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 6:

See that? Women do this thing. Those women are preying upon fresh meat. You know? Fresh meat. How did it... Did it get your mind off of that? Did it get your mind off of the ex?

00:09:57 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

Oh, heck yeah. It was funny because I was working with

00:10:00 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 5:

One lady was sitting there, I was talking about, telling her something she had to do. One woman kept walking back and forth. She was like, she likes, she wants you. That's about the fifth time she walked by.

00:10:09 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 4:

Wow.

00:10:09 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 3:

How many of them did you go out with?

00:10:14 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 5:

None of them.

00:10:15 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 3:

Lies.

00:10:16 - 00:10:22 | Speaker 4:

He just had sex with them. That's not going out. Carly, what's up, Carly? How you doing? Hi, guys.

00:10:22 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 3:

How are you? Good morning.

00:10:23 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 4:

What's going on, Carly?

00:10:25 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 3:

I was actually the girl in the situation who was going through something really hard. And I let them in and it's in the moment you rely on them and they're your happiness for that long. And after six months, he broke up with me and I was lost. So if you're the girl, it's just like for both of you, just leave her alone because after that, he was my support and then it was gone. So, yeah, it's just really hard on the girl to let that person in.

00:10:54 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 4:

What was the story? Why would he do that to you? He was just using you for the circumstance, huh?

00:10:59 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, family, friends, knew about my situation. Thought he was, like, our families are close, yeah, but he was definitely just using me because I was down and still recovering from that, like, having the actual support. So, yeah, really messed up, but doing good now.

00:11:17 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, you know what? I think that this probably happens a lot, and I know Shannon says that she didn't get any calls, but I'm telling you, there were a lot of guys.

00:11:26 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 5:

You kept telling me about guys that were calling you.

00:11:28 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 4:

I had guys that would call up all the time and be like, hey, Mojo, this is Larry from, you know, whatever.

00:11:35 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 1:

Larry.

00:11:35 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 4:

No, I don't know. I'm just saying the names. I'd be like, listen, I was wondering if I could get Shannon's phone number. I heard she's getting divorced. I just wanted to give her some advice on what, I'm like, you're a, I know you're a dog. No, not a putz. I think he's, listen, I think he's smart for trying. But I think that they, you know, at that moment right there, you know what their intentions are. Yeah. Right?

00:11:55 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 5:

I mean, there was one guy that did that and didn't stop.

00:11:58 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 4:

Really? And I'm afraid to him. I was waiting for it. I was like, hold on. I'm just going to call him out. Hold on, hold on. Awad, is it? I don't know. How do you pronounce his name? Awad. Awad?

00:12:15 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 5:

Hey, that's me.

00:12:16 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 4:

What's up, Awad? What's going on?

00:12:18 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 5:

I'm good. How about yourself? Good. What's going on? I'm good. I'm good. I'm hearing your radio show right now. And I hear that Kevin. you know he saw an opportunity you know he's a lion he's a predator he needs to go where the meat is he is not a predator do not use that word so we're not predator i'm talking about like like apex predator like like something that eats like at the top of the food chain meaning yeah oh okay

00:12:43 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 4:

where does he need to go you said he needs to go somewhere what do you need to go like where's the best where's the best place to prey upon these

00:12:52 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 5:

to pray for these men you could go to like the club you could go to like a funeral home you could go to a mental hospital you know you gotta help them you got you gotta find an opportunity to help the person and then you get what you want they get what they want and then you show appreciation they show appreciation you fall in love they fall in love and then it becomes a happy every after you know i don't think it was that big of a deal to be honest with you i love my

00:13:17 - 00:13:58 | Speaker 4:

favorite is the the you know you're saying this yet i hear stories all the time about people who will look and see you know i guess they announced divorces and then uh it's public record i didn't know this i didn't know there was and there were guys that used to say all the time that they would public record and see girls that they went to school with and if they got divorced or here's the other one go to somebody's social media and notice that they changed something in their social media like you can always tell when somebody's going through a relationship issue based on their posts yeah and i think that that's an easy one then you end up contacting them y'all are acting like ambulance chasers well that's pretty much you know what you yeah really you're the personal

00:13:58 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 1:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:15:07 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 1:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, go in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. we've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits, I would go for a four-year.

00:15:52 - 00:15:59 | Speaker 3:
