Well, my daughter was going on Saturday night And actually at the very last minute Our sweet boss Tony called and said I have an extra pair of tickets can you use them but I was in the middle of still getting her ready and I had plans with my my little guy Smith um and so I was just so frazzled in the moment I'm like I can't I can't make it down there I can't pull myself together and get her where she needs to be and get down there and get dressed

and I hadn't even showered yet Tony had asked people in the meeting last week on was it Tuesday or Monday or whatever I don't remember what day it was but he had asked he said uh you know I don't know if I can get anybody tickets it's really hard to get tickets but if you want tickets you get it and I think you had said something about how Friday night and Saturday night you knew that we were going to be out there doing broadcast you didn't want to have a babysitter two nights in a row so I think that what ended up happening was there was a possibility of tickets on Friday but because you didn't want a babysitter for both nights right and then I think he was trying to

get you tickets because he felt bad I know he's the best boss I'm super weird about putting the kids with the baby so my ex-husband and I do week on week off with the kids and so if I have them for a weekend, I'm not putting them with a babysitter two nights in a row, and I had them with a babysitter on Friday.

You know, you could actually have it where you are, you know, highly successful at what you do. but when your kids look up to you or feel like you've done something amazing for them because you are their parent i know this i know you know shannon this cav you know this mike you know this there is no greater feeling in the world than when your child's truly appreciative of what you did

and that's that's a that's a cool thing so core memory yeah yeah man this weekend you guys you guys helped make that whole experience for Cecily, who came to the concert. Kept commenting on the video of Megan and Mojo And Cecily and I singing I forget what song we were singing You belong to me I guess there's a moment in it where she looks at me And I don't see that because I just look at the video I see her kind of look at me every day I don't really notice those things But I guess she looks at me And you can just see the pure joy and love In that moment And Mojo captured that moment It was just really cool to see that So thank you guys very much

It was cool And Shannon, Lucy got a chance to go With her friends on Saturday

Lou's got a chance to go with an incredible family That took her and some of her All her little girlfriends And my girlfriend Lindsay and I Were those annoying moms That just wouldn't leave Because we were both

emotional that we were not going with our daughters to their first concert. So I actually feel kind of bad about it. It is funny, but we were supposed to drop them off at this family's home at like 4.30, 5 o'clock. And then the girls were all going to get ready together and get on a party bus to head downtown. And so my friend Lindsay and her daughter Ava and then Lucy and Smith, we all drove together to this house. And when we got there, Lucy like beelined it, right? to go upstairs and be with all her friends and like you know do their hair and makeup or whatever um and my friend all of a sudden like we're supposed to drop them and go and my friend all of a sudden disappears into this family's home and she's like sending me pictures from inside i'm like lindsey what are you doing we're supposed to just drop them off like we weren't even supposed to go inside we're supposed to drop them off and go and she's like i am going to stay here until this bus leaves and she she had brought with her like a bag of um decorations for the bus like this was actually kind of genius she had like banners and light up balloons and little things that said hooray and she's like start blowing all this stuff up with me and we're gonna go and put it on the bus and just stay as long as we can so we could see the girls leave so it's like 5 30 and we're still there mind you we were supposed to drop them off and leave but just trying to squeeze out every second of the moment being super annoying i'm sure because you want to be able to experience

And obviously tickets were hard to come by

But are you also, are you and Lindsay Are you the same parents that when your daughter or your son Is invited to a birthday party You go and you stay at the party the entire time And have to sit there and eat the pizza That's like the free pizza for the kids

With Smith I do because he's still little With Loose I drop and go Bye girl But not this It was just like such a special moment for her So there we are blowing up balloons in the driveway while the parents are still getting ready.

What did the parent of the kid that was taking all your kids to the concert, what did they think when you guys were all hanging out?

They told us that it was cool what we were doing and it was sweet, but I'm sure inside they were like, will you guys go home already?

They were like...

We made friends with the party bus driver. We were those moms.

For Lucy, when she was going to the concert, what was it like for her to know that she, you know, had got an opportunity to go and be there and to see this Taylor? Was this like, this was her big concert?

This was her very first concert.

What did she say when she came home? Was she just talking the whole time?

She said, oh my gosh, she was so excited. And she said that her ear, she was scared she wasn't going to be able to hear normal again. Because, you know, it's so loud inside Ford Field. And she had no voice at all Because she had been screaming and singing And it was so cute She was so excited

I think that this is the one time Where you go Even if you don't like Taylor Swift And I'm not going to say to you guys That I'm a huge Taylor Swift music fan I know there's probably like Four songs that I sit there and go Oh I like that song Whatever the deal is She's got catalogs upon catalogs There was a couple eras that I was happy I could sit down during Like when she did that whole era Where she had like the trees It was like Harry Potter And then she had like the one with the Even with the snake one I'm like oh okay I'm going to sit down for this one Or behind the piano I'm like oh can please people sit down for a second I'm tired But there were a couple of moments where I'm like going Oh my god Just witness these kids and these parents Incredible I can't take that away from them You know what I mean

I feel like I got to witness it because there was one person I follow on Facebook who live streamed or like she was on Facebook live the entire concert.

Yeah.

So like anytime I like dipped back in, you know, to see what was going on, like I could just go click on her page and see it. I didn't know if you were supposed to do that or not, but she was.

I was driving down to go do our broadcast on Friday and I was listening to 97.1, the sports station. And I was listening to Mike Fellaini talking about, I don't get it. This is horrible. This is crazy. Why would somebody spend this money? And he's hating on it like he hates on Michigan football and basketball and all the rest of it. He hates on everything. And I'm listening to this thing going, I agree with you, Mike. I agree with you, Mike. I'm sitting there the whole time as the fan or agreeing. After the concert was over, I almost wanted to call him up and say, dude, you've got to go witness it for yourself. Now I get it. And you've got to see it because there was something about it that I sat there and I go, I can't take away the thing that she does to the people that are in the audience.

Well, it's a core memory. Like I looked at Lucy's face when she came home and even, you know, my friend was sending me photos during the show. And I'm like, I will never forget. She will never. forget this it is a poor memory i mean it is it is truly one of those things like where you'll as a grown woman go i remember when my mom stayed at this person's house the entire time and wouldn't

leave yes she already called me the most embarrassing mom and i really took the trophy

What was, as a mom, what did it, like, we always try to put ourselves in a position with our kids where we go, I remember when I experienced something like this. What was the closest thing that you could even tell me that you experienced when you were Claire's age that, you know, would be to this?

Oh, gosh. um honestly uh i i remember at her age having a field trip and my mom surprising me at the field trip and it was just so cool that she was there with me to experience this field trip to this whatever museum museum it was so it was just i and this was kind of like that i mean on a much bigger scale but she was um i think experiencing it with me i mean i we had the best time just singing and dancing and, um, making that memory with each other. And it was unlike any other

experience I've ever had with her. It's when you think that your parent is a superhero, you know what I mean? Like it's when you think of that moment of like your mom showing up at your field trip and surprising you where you're like, Oh my God, like, I can't tell. I love my mom. Like, this is amazing. Your daughter, Claire's looking at you, Janelle, and thinking the same thing like she's like my mom is taking me to this yeah yeah although she will she takes full

credit because she says mom you've been trying all day every day for so long and i only tried one time she's right smart ass hey congrats to you great job mom thank you so much i was like i was patting parents on the back

like, great job, Dad, congratulations, because honestly, as a dad and watching Chelsea as a mom and seeing all the stuff that we do with our kids and do for our kids, I sit there and I go, man, these parents need to have recognition to know that they literally will not be sending their kids to college because they spend all their money on it.
