Mojo in the morning. Channel 955, 104.5 SNX, 92.5 KISS FM. Shannon and Cav, myself, Mojo, Lydia, and Bianca, Zach, and, of course, all the great staffs that we have in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Toledo. Shannon, back from her honeymoon that she took a year later, they had so much stuff to combine families together, and you guys said, you know what, we're going to get everybody in their place. how weird was it for you guys to be in west to be away from all those kids or were you guys like

00:03:14 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 9:

happy as hell just to get away from all those kids um i you know me i like as soon as we got on the plane i'm like economist the kids and the dog he was like do not do this to me that's the

00:03:25 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 5:

worst as a guy like when you're going away and moms moms are a special breed they actually you know they birth this child inside of them that alien that's inside of them not an alien the guy just pretty much just as a sperm donor and it's unbelievable to think that as a guy i couldn't wait to get away from my kids where it bothered me if we had like a one-on-one time going away and we were like you're checking in on them again i know and it's funny because i didn't even really

00:03:53 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 9:

check in on them per se lucy called me at least once a day when we were gone really to facetime him to say hi or she missed me or whatever how about smith smith called zero types really zero about five days in i was like lucy can you please go get your brother so i can see his face and tell him that i love him you know it's amazing just so different those two i would have thought that

00:04:17 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 5:

it would have been the opposite i don't know why that would have been because lucy's you know

00:04:20 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 9:

middle school age and she's kind of doing her own thing yeah well and i had to teach her that there was a time difference so there was one night that she was facetiming me and it was three in the morning in France. And she FaceTimed me not once, not twice, three times. And I was like, I'm not going to get it. I'm not going to get it. And then she started FaceTiming Wes and I thought it was an emergency. And so we picked it up and she's like, mom, I wanted to show you I got the new crumble cookie flavor. And I'm like, Lucy, it's three in the morning. So that kind of answers my question.

00:04:48 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 8:

I was going to ask, was there any inappropriate times that she kind of called? Yeah, couldn't

00:04:53 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 9:

answer. Honestly, yes. Honestly, yes. The very last night we were there, that was happening. and I could I could see.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 1:

They heard the FaceTime coming through on my phone. I did not answer. Not yet. Yeah.

00:05:04 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 2:

That would be, by the way, as a guy, that would be devastating. You're in, you know, baking cookies mode and she's calling up about a cookie.

00:05:12 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 1:

Like a little cookie. Right, literally.

00:05:15 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 2:

You said that you did something on this trip that you've never done before. You overcame a fear. What was that?

00:05:23 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 1:

So everybody knows that I have a very intense fear of deep water. I really don't know how to swim for the most part. I can doggy paddle. Kev, you and I have talked about this before because I think you're in the same boat, right?

00:05:35 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah. I'm not scared of deep water, but I don't know how to swim.

00:05:39 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, I can't even tread water. I have tried. I have taken swimming lessons. I've done all the things. I've just, since I was little, been very, very scared of deep water. And so part of our trip was spent in the south of France, like on the Mediterranean Sea. And there was one day where, I know you guys aren't going to be surprised, Wes woke me up at like the butt crack of dawn to go kayaking and um we which was ended up being really fun but we kayaked for miles to this little teeny tiny beach in between two huge cliffs in the south of France and um I've honestly never seen anything like it it was it was so beautiful and it was one of those it was one of those moments where I had to just look around and go I am so grateful to be here I will never be here again like this is bucket list for me this is not real life and so we tied our kayak to like the side of a rock and Wes gets up he's climbing you know very Wes and he starts jumping off of some of these cliffs and I'm like you know good for him I'm laying in the kayak trying to get some sun and he kept encouraging me to get up and just and jump and he's like you're never ever gonna be in this situation again where you could jump from such a beautiful place into the mediterranean sea shan and it got to a point where i was like please stop asking me because you i don't think you understand how deep-rooted this fear is like i wasn't even gonna get off i had a life jacket on on the kayak the entire time that's how scared i was and it finally came to a point where he's like just get up i'll hold your hand and like you know you can you can see you can see the bottom it's so crystal clear and it took in fact I want to post the videos today because there were about five or six videos that he took of me thinking I was going to do it and then just crumbling like I cried I was so scared but I wanted to do it so badly and he said to me it's a scientific proven fact that if you if you focus for more than five seconds like on what is below you you're not going to do it so he's like climb up and just go don't think about it too much and that's what i did you did i was up there for a while i got down and i was like i can't do and i felt like i was disappointing not only him but more so myself and i kept thinking i know that we're gonna kayak back and i'm gonna be at dinner tonight going i wish i would have just right overcame this fear and done it um but it felt And if you saw the video, because I think the last post of the video, I swear in a lot of these, so I can't even play them live. But I was like, have you ever been somewhere and you're like, you feel numb? My feet, I couldn't, I was numb. I was that scared. But I wanted to do it so badly. And I felt like I was standing on top of a skyscraper looking down.

00:08:39 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 1:

And it was not that far. It's like that movie where it zooms out.

00:08:41 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 2:

You know what I mean?

00:08:42 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. It zooms out further than what it is. And I'm looking, I'm like, I'm not going to do this. Like, there's no way.

00:08:47 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 2:

And again, real quick for a second. Was it really that high? Like, it was a really high? She jumped off the porch. Or was it like a high dive at a pool or something?

00:08:58 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 1:

No, it was higher than that.

00:08:59 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:09:00 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 1:

Like, it was higher than a diving board at all. And it's a cliff, so you don't really know what's underneath. Like, I was actually wearing these shoes. These, like, little jelly shoes that I'm wearing now. Because there's no sand there. It's all rock.

00:09:10 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 2:

Go back to your fear of water. Are you at all fearful in the kayak that you're going to float away from Wes?

00:09:19 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's why I was wearing a life jacket.

00:09:21 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 2:

So you did.

00:09:21 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

I wore a life jacket the entire time, except when I jumped. I was not wearing a life jacket when I jumped. You didn't jump with a life jacket? No. In one moment? No. You're doing that for the picture. No. So Wes promised me, because that would have hurt. If I would have jumped that far with a life jacket on, I think that would have hurt.

00:09:39 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but you could be dead.

00:09:40 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 1:

He promised me that he was going to film it, throw the phone down, and jump in right after me. And that was the only way that I was going to do it.

00:09:47 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 2:

Wait, so why would it hurt with a life jacket?

00:09:50 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 1:

Because I think I would have just, like, flopped, right? I don't know. He told me do not do it with a life jacket.

00:09:55 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 2:

You know what was worse than hurting? Dying.

00:09:58 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

You guys, I still can't believe I did.

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 5:

it like the whole rest of the trip i was like i jumped off a cliff not to add like did you see

00:10:04 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 3:

this video no i mean there was a video okay so there's me climbing up but this is shannon's in a little bathing suit you see that so that's me turning around hang on i know i have a video here's me actually doing it let me get close there's no way yeah oh my god oh okay oh see But for me to jump into the ocean, it was high.

00:10:30 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

Shannon, Shannon, there is no offense. That was high. That was actually, that seemed very scary when you told the story until you showed the video.

00:10:41 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 4:

I don't think you realize that. That's way down.

00:10:43 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 5:

How high are you? Come on. How high is that?

00:10:45 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 4:

That's like six feet, man. No. No, no, no, no, no.

00:10:49 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

Janet, that looks like what you'd dive off of on a swimming pool. Yeah, you did that at airtime. Really? Let me see it from the bottom. Let me see it from the bottom. Do you have a video from the bottom?

00:11:00 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 3:

Well, no, because Wes was standing right there.

00:11:02 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 5:

Do you have a video of the rock? Show us from the... I'm sorry. Let's do Wes. When Wes jumped off. Yeah. Let me see Wes jump off. Where are you at? Okay, that's higher. Okay, now Wes looks like higher.

00:11:12 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 3:

Wes was literally in the same spot I was, but he was standing going like this. Okay, so the angle.

00:11:17 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 5:

All right. Yes. So real quick, can we go back for one second? You didn't have a life jacket on for that because you wanted to do it for the gram?

00:11:25 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 3:

No. I think if you jumped with a life jacket on, that would, I almost swore, I think that would have hurt really bad.

00:11:32 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 5:

Did you?

00:11:33 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 3:

I plugged him out. You can see me plug my nose, too. I plugged my nose when I went in.

00:11:37 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 4:

I just don't trust from where Wes is filming with no life jacket that he's going to be able to jump in. He jumped right in.

00:11:44 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 3:

He jumped right in after me.

00:11:46 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 4:

I don't see it. No, bro. I don't see it either.

00:11:48 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 3:

he jumped right in after me he put the phone down and then jumped right in all right i want to ask

00:11:55 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 5:

a question who's who's overcome a fear what was the fear that you overcame call us up 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 what's your what's the fear that you overcame and tell us your moment on that one i want to go back to you for one second with this this weekend there were like these like 8000 stories of people drowning this weekend did you see that in michigan oh yeah it was like all these Over the 4th of July holiday, there was like, again, there was like three or four local in our areas drownings. And then up north, there was a whole bunch of them where people are drowning. Why do you keep saying it like that? Well, these people are going in water. I was going to say drown-deen. Drown-deen-dens. I don't know. What's the plural of it? Drown-deen. Drown-deen. What it is. Drown-deen. But why are people, like Shannon should not be in water if she's so fearful of water without a life jacket.

00:12:44 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 4:

I'm not jumping off no cliff. Naked. Naked. I was not naked.

00:12:49 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 2:

No.

00:12:50 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 4:

You know what I'm saying? You don't have no safety gear. You don't have no floaties. It's naked. And the thing is, like, yes. Okay, do that. But if my safety person is on the same cliff that I am, I need you in the water. Damn near ready to catch me.

00:13:03 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. I would have him on the bottom there.

00:13:04 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 4:

He jumped in. I'm talking Friday night. I know, but I'm not trying to die. This is why I play water games. What's up, Helena? Hi.

00:13:13 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 1:

Hi. I wanted to say, I've jumped off waterfalls with life jackets on, and it is so painful. Yeah. I definitely recommend not doing it with a life jacket. Like Shannon did.

00:13:22 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 3:

I think it would choke you.

00:13:23 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 1:

Wait, why would it choke you? It would choke you. It would choke you.

00:13:26 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 5:

I'm not talking about the life jacket that goes around your neck. I'm talking about like what you would wear if you're on a Sea-Doo.

00:13:33 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. So when it goes, when you hit the water, it goes all the way up and it hits at your neck and it chokes you.

00:13:39 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 5:

Oh, really?

00:13:40 - 00:13:44 | Speaker 3:

And again, I was not jumping off of a waterfall by any means. but I still think it would have hurt pretty bad.

00:13:45 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I did not know that. That to me is new to me about that, but I would still be fearful of being in that water and something bad happening. What's going on? Leanne, you overcame a fear. What was your fear you overcame?

00:13:58 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 2:

I did. I overcame a fear of heights.

00:14:03 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 5:

Oh, man. Yeah, what'd you do?

00:14:05 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. A couple years ago, we went on a cruise, and we stopped and did a tour of a Mayan set of ruins. Oh, jeez. And my family, including my son, wanted to climb to the top of the ruins. And it was okay going up. I managed going up. But when it came time to come down, I did the same thing. I started to cry. And I kept telling my husband, I said, I can't do this. i can't do this and he said you know if you don't they will send someone when this park closes and they will physically remove you wow wow because because you can't because they don't want you up there at a certain amount of time or something oh oh yeah when it starts to get dark the like the Yeah.

00:15:00 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 6:

area closes you you by the way the fact that you overcame your fear of heights with the mayan ruins and stuff and shannon on a waterfall these are amazing stories to be able to tell like you know this isn't uh that you overcame your you know uh fear of uh heights and it was you know going to the second story of the macy's you know what i mean this is amazing this was like and this was

00:15:28 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 3:

And I didn't even realize how high we were until I was up there.

00:15:34 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. You know what's amazing about this with Shannon and the whole thing, being on the honeymoon? That's how a Dateline episode goes. What?

00:15:41 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 1:

What? There's literally a video where I looked at him and because he was trying to coach me and he was being so enthusiastic and compassionate. I still think that there's something. And he goes, you think this is a Dateline episode, don't you? And I'm like, yes.

00:15:56 - 00:16:18 | Speaker 6:

And you know what? If they had me on there and if it was Keith Morrison doing the whole, she went on her honeymoon, I would go, I knew that guy Wes had something kind of suspicious about him. Like, you know what I mean? Like he took her over there where the laws are different on killing wives, you know? Did you ever figure out what the French laws are? They're okay with killing wives, right? Anya, what's going on? Hi.

00:16:19 - 00:16:51 | Speaker 4:

Hi. So I can say that I did not overcome it, but on my honeymoon as well, went to Jamaica and And we did stick lining. I am afraid of heights like no other, but I knew I had to do it for my husband. I did not talk or smile the entire way. Oh, gee. Even with videos, photos, like I couldn't. And I just, I did it. And then as soon as it was done and I was on the ground, I stood there and was basically down to my knees crying. Oh, my God. I was hysterical.

00:16:51 - 00:17:00 | Speaker 6:

At any point on your honeymoon, when he's making you cry, making you do this thing, were you thinking, I should have said no and never married this guy?

00:17:02 - 00:17:03 | Speaker 4:

No, not at all.

00:17:03 - 00:17:03 | Speaker 6:

Really?

00:17:04 - 00:17:10 | Speaker 4:

It was definitely just like me trying to overcome the fear, but I think I was just so happy to be on the ground and off of the zip line.

00:17:10 - 00:17:15 | Speaker 6:

What is up with these husbands that are trying to make their wives overcome fears?

00:17:17 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 4:

Look, he's from Seattle, Washington. him like he's used to all of that stuff and it is just not anything i ever would want to do again

00:17:24 - 00:17:31 | Speaker 1:

wow that's well that i did say that to west i was like and never again i did it i can say i did it

00:17:31 - 00:17:35 | Speaker 6:

i don't think we're doing we're in colorado with your kids you would never want to do that with

00:17:35 - 00:17:41 | Speaker 1:

your kids uh if he was not there to jump in out absolutely not yeah no well you should definitely

00:17:41 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 6:

not be doing it with just you and the kids you should have somebody i i agree with kevin on that That's crazy that he was, I thought that he was in the water waiting for you to come in. He was over on the other side there. Were you like, hurry up, hurry up. Like how fast did he jump in after you?

00:17:54 - 00:17:56 | Speaker 1:

Like right after me.

00:17:56 - 00:17:58 | Speaker 6:

Seconds? Okay. What's up, Jade?

00:17:59 - 00:18:00 | Speaker 1:

Hey, guys.

00:18:00 - 00:19:10 | Speaker 5:

First time caller. Long time listener. I listen to you guys all the time, but I just wanted to call in about the fear. So me and my husband, we just celebrated our one year anniversary, wedding anniversary. we went on a cruise thank you we went on a cruise to um ultra rios jamaica and my husband had me jumping off cliffs as well like these guys are literally crazy um i was so scared and it was like three different ones like a short one middle size and then tall and the guy i kept asking the um cruise um i'm sorry the excursions leader like how deep is it he's like oh it's like 50 feet and they were just so regular about how deep the water was right there and i was so terrified i actually did jump with the life jacket though so how did they are right it does hurt it does hurt and i won't be doing that again but um i did it and again i won't do it again good for you though yeah yeah it was it was amazing it was so beautiful to see all of the rocks all of the water and trees and stuff around but i kept asking like where exactly am i supposed to jump because

00:19:10 - 00:19:26 | Speaker 1:

like she said it's rocky yes yeah you have it has to be super specific of where you go in and to be honest with you if i could not have if the water wasn't as clear as it was because there were areas where it was dark i would never in a million years have done it yeah hold on uh garbage man steve

00:19:26 - 00:19:43 | Speaker 7:

wants to make a comment what's that steve hey you know i'm gonna i gotta say you gotta post the videos because we'll be the judge of that how high it was okay you gotta post both videos i'll post both we jumped off a 25 30 foot cliff oh it was not that oh no no but you'd have to understand

00:19:43 - 00:19:49 | Speaker 1:

something my dad has a pool i won't even jump off the side of the pool into the deep end wow

00:19:49 - 00:19:58 | Speaker 7:

that's where i'm at yeah come on it's a pool you can see everything we were jumping we were jumping into into water you couldn't see the bottom

00:20:00 - 00:20:03 | Speaker 5:

Good for you. Pat on the back for you.

00:20:03 - 00:20:42 | Speaker 6:

When we were kids, we did quarry jumping. We would jump in quarries. Yeah, we would jump in the quarries that were outside Chicago. I'll be honest with you. I was always afraid that I was going to be the kid that got paralyzed doing that thing. I wouldn't do it. I need Wes to go with me to one of those. Wes sit at the bottom. You're landing him. Yeah. Can you imagine, by the way, I'd kill Wes. I would kill him. I can't do it! Hit me on the bottom there. And by the way, that would be my luck. My luck is I'd find the one spot that had a rock there that I would end up getting nailed with.

00:20:42 - 00:20:51 | Speaker 4:
