And there was a Dyson in the hotel room that I stayed in. And I was like, I wonder if I just took it, if they would charge me less than the actual retail price. And it didn't have all the accessories. No. Which is part of the reason why you wanted one so bad. Yeah. So yesterday after the show, I got a DM from a listener named Laura that I just so happened to see and open and read. And she heard my topic. She's been hearing my topics about this damn Dyson hairdryer. And she said in her message to me that she had gotten one for Christmas two years ago. She loved it. But then she got the air wrap for Christmas from her husband this year. She got the what? yeah well so she said to me in her message she didn't need to so she offered to sell me hers for a fraction of the price that it's on sale for at the store right now so I was in immediately I mean I ran out of this studio went to tell Lydia Lydia knows like how bad I want this dice and I was so excited so she sends me her address and I realize she it was very convenient she lives not even five minutes from she actually lives like right across the street from my mom and so I was planning on stopping by while I was out running all of my errands yesterday afternoon well I pull onto her street and I'm going to pull into her driveway and my stomach gets this pit in And I thought to myself, you are dumb, Shannon. Like, what if this girl is not real? What if this girl is not even a girl? And this is just all allure to get me to some random person's house. And then they're going to rob me or jump me or kidnap me or kill me. And truly, I thought to myself, I was like, you are such an idiot. And you're doing this for a freaking hair dryer. How much money were you truly saving? Okay, a lot, like hundreds of dollars. right worth it so i'm sitting in the car i am sitting in my car and she can corroborate the story i'm sitting in my car in her driveway and i'm like dumb dumb you are stupid like what are you doing this is so not safe whatsoever and then i'm like screw it i want this so bad i'm here now So I look up.

Okay, I'm already in her driveway at this point. I look up to get out of my car and she's standing right there next to my car door with the box for the hairdryer. Does she look like a killer? She, I'm not joking. And Laura, I hope you're listening right now. First off, she's the sweetest. She's also, I think, the most beautiful listener I've ever seen in my history with this show. Oh, no, I hate her. She gave the deal to you and she's hot? And she's hot. Yeah. I hate her. And very normal. Did not, did not, you know.

You got to watch out for the normal ones.

And drag me into her house. I am here today and very fine. That was so nice of her. And I have the hair dryer. I'm so jealous.

All right, so here's the thing that I would love for calls on this one. What could have happened to Shannon? Has anybody ever done, like, Facebook Marketplace or what are the other ones that people go to? Oh, remember back in the day? Yeah, I bought stuff off. Craigslist was, you want to know what happens on Craigslist? People chop off your toes or suck them. One of those two.

They do something with them.

Hey guys. So I was looking for a monitor for my son for his PC. He had, he was cleaning his desk off and he broke it. So I was on there and it ended up being, so when I met up with a person, I thought it was a house. I couldn't find the address and it ended up taking me to a gas station and I kept messaging the person and I was like, hey, you know, I'm here. Is this where I'm supposed to be meeting you? And it ended up being my son's father, who I'm no longer with. We've been together for years. An enemy of his that, I mean, even since high school, they, like, hated each other. It was like his heart's nemesis. And his Facebook name was under a different name. It didn't even have a picture of him. I did recognize him. And we both kind of just, like, stood there because he knew who I was as well. And we both just kind of stood there. And he's like, well, do you still want to buy it? And I was like, well, I mean, that's fine with me. I don't know how he's going to feel when my son tells him. If I ever tell him the story, my son's 10. So I didn't tell my son or anything. What a coincidence.

Yeah, that is wild. At that point, if he was like an enemy of my husband's, I'd say, I don't love my husband. You know what I mean? Like, I would make him think that you just didn't want to get killed. What's up, Amber? How you doing?

I'm a teacher, and I used to teach in Tennessee, and I had a student who was in college. They had moved on, but they were selling an Xbox on Facebook Marketplace, and they got robbed in their parking lot, and they were shot and killed over, like, an Xbox. Oh, my God.

Oh, that's so tragic. That's awful.

So, super glad that you are safe, Shannon, but I buy stuff off of Facebook Marketplace all the time, and I don't really go through that. in my head but definitely glad that you still do that knowing that a student had this happen to them yeah but i mean it's like little stuff i'm not going out and like selling electronics or

the morning hi hi first time long time so uh this is like back in 2018 i sold um a really old jeep on facebook marketplace or craigslist and the person sent me a check in the mail to mail it over a few states and the check was a fake check but the bank approved it and everything and um i was out a few thousand dollars a few weeks later no because if the bank approves it That's undone. That's undone.

Right, right.

I know, right? They shut my account down, but then a few years later, I actually got a check in the mail for, you know, they approved that it was fraud and not my fault. Oh, okay.

That's good. Wow. Brian, you got robbed over a PS5?

Yes, I did. So, it was back during COVID when you couldn't get any. Like, all the scalpers had them and they were selling them for ridiculous amounts.

I found on Craigslist one that was going for $600, and I drove all the way to Gary, Indiana. I should have knew better. And he had to meet him at a liquor store. And Gary? Yeah, and Gary. Bruh. You're dumber than me. I'm very dumb. And he put S5 in the window, showed me that it was all legit. It was all in there. As soon as I cashed half the money, he took the box right out of my car.

Oh, my God. At least you're safe.

I went to the police station. The police station had windows broken out. I knew I wasn't getting no help.

By the way, my favorite are the people that buy something, and there's, like, rocks inside of the thing because the person scammed them. Tammy, what happened to you?

First time, very, very long time. Oh, no. Oh, no. So my daughter got married this past August at our house, and so I was looking for a bunch of lanterns to put outside, and on Facebook, somebody posted these two lanterns, and so when I was DMing her, she gave me the address and said that the street was, you had to turn into the prison in order to get to the street, so that was a little bit alarming to me, and And I still went, and I passed back and forth a few times before I could figure out there were a few houses in front, and thankfully they ended up being, her husband worked for the prison, but I still went, and then later she even texted me, yeah, later she texted me, because I just left money, she left them on the front and said, you left too much, I'm going to leave the money that, you know, the change or whatever if you want to swing back by and get it. So I'll end up well, but I got my lanterns. The stuff we do to get a deal.

Unreal, man. I would have said keep the change. How about this one here? Jennifer went to go. A guy was selling an Xbox. She showed up, and what did he have in his sweatpants?

A gun just hanging out of his sweatpants, like out of his pocket. Oh, Lord Jesus. Oh, my God.
