Mojo on the morning show. Shannon is like petrified right now about her dogs becoming some coyote's treat. Yet she still just sends the dogs outside to go to the bathroom.

00:01:44 - 00:02:22 | Speaker 6:

I mean, yeah, but I stand there and watch over them. Really, it's just Charlie. My little Charlie is 15 years old and he's a little six and a half pound toy poodle. and our neighborhood Facebook page is going crazy right now because apparently our neighborhood has been invaded with coyotes who have taken over this one very specific section of the woods that's kind of at one end of the neighborhood and apparently it's mating season, so there are a lot of them and people are posting photos all over the place of these coyotes in the neighborhood with strict warnings to anybody like myself who has very, very small dogs.

00:02:22 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 7:

Have any dogs gotten eaten?

00:02:25 - 00:02:26 | Speaker 6:

I don't think so.

00:02:27 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 7:

Why are you only worried about Charlie but not the other dogs? You don't think those other dogs are going to be a snack?

00:02:31 - 00:02:32 | Unknown:

No.

00:02:32 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 7:

Really? Are they too big? Is that the thing? I think they're too big. No, I think the coyotes will eat anything.

00:02:38 - 00:02:38 | Unknown:

Really?

00:02:38 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. Somebody told me that they're only afraid of humans for some reason, which I'd be afraid of them. So do you stand at your door?

00:02:48 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 6:

No, I stand outside. So I have like a sliding glass door in my kitchen that goes out into my backyard and my backyard is fenced in, except the fence that faces my front yard is really, really low to the ground. Like it's just high enough that the dogs can't jump over it. But I feel like a coyote kid. So when I let the dogs out, especially in the morning before I come into the station and it's still dark outside, I stand there and I and I watch where Tark is going to make sure that first I check. I really do do this to Wes saw me do it this morning. I go outside. I check, make sure there's nothing in the backyard yet. And then I let the dogs in and I just stand there and watch them. Huh. Interesting. I don't care about the other two. I care about Charlie.

00:03:31 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 8:

It terrifies me that my brother does this with his dog as well. And I heard a coyote one night growl. And I was like, get that dog in the house. And I know that this is a real thing.

00:03:44 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 7:

What does a coyote growl sound like?

00:03:45 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 8:

I don't know, but it was scary.

00:03:47 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 7:

You said you heard a coyote growl.

00:03:48 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 8:

I know, I hear bats clapping too, and I couldn't tell you what that sounds like.

00:03:51 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 7:

Come on, let me hear a growl.

00:03:53 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 8:

It sounded, I think, like a dog, because at first we thought it was a dog. It was like a, I don't know. I just, I don't know. Don't we have sound effects on our phone?

00:04:02 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 7:

No, I don't. I can't find one. What is it?

00:04:06 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 6:

I'm going to eat this puppy because I'm hungry, man. That's Mojo trying to read a liner.

00:04:15 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 7:

And then a couple F-bombs right afterwards. It's funny, the neighborhood that I live in also has got coyote stuff where people will post it. They actually have posted ring pictures of these coyotes.

00:04:29 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 6:

That's what people are doing.

00:04:30 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 7:

And you see them in the front. And you know what they look like? They look like ugly dogs.

00:04:34 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 6:

Yes. Yeah. You guys, you should see me when I go outside in the morning, like I'm making my coffee in the Keurig. I peek out. I imagine seeing just eyes, glowing eyes. I'm terrified to go out there.

00:04:50 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

Hold on a second. On the phone with us is Mojo in the Morning super fan and friend of the show. Jason Raznick is on with us right now.

00:05:00 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 6:

And he is a coyote expert, from what I understand. Is that true, Raz?

00:05:04 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, not only do I like going to sports games, but I'm a coyote expert. My wife has been freaking out about these coyotes for a long time. So there's several things you need to do, Shannon. First, you need to start peeing in your backyard. You know, like some men like to pee outside. Coyotes hate the smell of pee. So if you're coming by my house, you just may see me peeing all around the backyard. They hate the smell of pee. They leave it.

00:05:26 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 6:

You go outside and start peeing in your yard? Your neighbors don't get upset about that?

00:05:31 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 5:

I was doing it religiously for a while. When I went to Reddit, read the whole thing, how to do it. I also know how to kill the coyotes, too. Could get too graphic for the show. But, yes, Shannon and Wes need to start peeing wherever the coyotes taste. Wait, how do you kill them?

00:05:46 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 6:

How do you kill the coyotes?

00:05:49 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 5:

You put food that they would want, like a food that they would want, like raw meat that you leave it out there. and there's a way you do it with, like, a hook. I'm not saying do it. We didn't do it, but they don't eat that, and then they're very dangerous. We have, like, a five-pound dog, and my wife goes outside, guys. I'm not kidding. With a foghorn, with a whistle, a flashlight. Like, she goes out like she's, like, going into war. I think she thinks she's entering Afghanistan. That's crazy. And I'm not joking. And she goes crazy on us that we don't go out with her or watch her because she thinks she's going to be attacked. That's nuts. But Shannon, you've got to start peeing in the backyard. Send Smith out there because Smith loves that.

00:06:31 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 3:

You guys, Smith gets off or gets out of the car from school. He does not get off. He gets off on this. You guys, I can't talk to him. He gets out of the car and immediately is like, I'm going to pee before he comes inside. So now I'm just going to say go in the backyard and do it.

00:06:45 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, do it. Thanks, Raz. We appreciate it. What's up? I'm sorry. Let me grab Shelly and you guys. Hold that question. Think about it. Write it down. What's up, Shelly?

00:06:53 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 4:

Hey, good morning, everybody. How's it going? Good morning. Yeah, what's going on? I got to pee all of a sudden. You got to pee? I do, too, actually.

00:07:00 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 6:

Are you chewing and eating while you're talking to us? What are you doing?

00:07:03 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 4:

No, I'm sorry. Well, I actually did have a piece of gum in my mouth. I'm sorry. Okay. So I talked to Lydia, so I was going to tell you about, in a very unfortunate situation, a great friend of mine had three beautiful German shepherds, always left them in the yard while they were at work, and they had some coyote problems, came home one day, and the coyotes had gotten all three of their shepherds.

00:07:21 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

No, you are kidding me.

00:07:23 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 6:

Dang, right. So those are big dogs.

00:07:25 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

She has been her dogs, too.

00:07:27 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 4:

Yes. Yes. They're very mangy and they're dirty and they roll in packs so they will get what they want. So please be careful with your dog, Shannon. It's so scary.

00:07:36 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 6:

Oh, man. Yeah, you got to be careful. By the way, will they eat humans that are peeing out in the yard? Because I would be worried that all of a sudden one would come up on me. What's going on? That's just not what a coyote sounds like. Megan, what is it? actually wouldn't it be funny if the coyote was like how do you do fine what's up courtney

00:08:00 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 2:

what's going on by a lot of coyotes and we had a rabid coyote and it was foaming at the mouth in our neighborhood and we had to call the police and they came and actually shot it for us

00:08:13 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. There you go. Really? Get a gas, Sammy? Yeah. You witnessed that?

00:08:18 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 2:

Well, it was rabid, and it was having seizures, and all of my neighbors were, like, texting, and we didn't know what to do, and we have two small dogs, and our dogs get out all the time because we have kids, and it's just, like, it's, we have too many heartbeats to take care of, and they get out when it's dark, and then sometimes we don't even realize it until, like, our dog is barking on the back deck to, like, come back inside.

00:08:41 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 6:

Wow. That scares me. you know like when you you know coyote in general but then when you see that they're foaming at the mouth you're wondering the hell man this thing's gonna really attack me i think it's funny how people leave their doors open in the front of their house a lot why would an animal not just we have wild deer that run around leave their door people like leave their doors wide open a lot of times and just like in wintertime especially because there's no insects and bugs and stuff you mean for the dogs to go back no they just like get air in their house yeah after they shot it

00:09:12 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 2:

they just put it over a hill at my sister's house and they just left it and they said they won't like take care of it and so my husband and my brother-in-law had to actually put it in a bag and we lived like it's a new neighborhood so there's construction and they had to put it in a bag and they put it in one of the dumpsters because the cop just left it because they didn't know what to

00:09:30 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 6:

do with it that's wild that that would happen that they wouldn't call like animal control to come and get it jenna actually witnessed probably one of the worst things ever what did you witness

00:09:40 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

Well, my neighbor, I live in a condo complex, and it's around like a woods, and my neighbor has, well, had, a small, like, um, like a white crusty dog. White crusty dog? Yeah, a small part.

00:10:00 - 00:10:38 | Speaker 5:

And my neighbor on the other side of me has a huge Rottweiler. Well, the dog was outside, and the coyote actually tried to grab this Pomeranian, but it was on a chain, so it couldn't take it away. And this Rottweiler from my neighbor's house comes shooting out, chased that chased the coyote probably six blocks. Coyote took off and I actually have a video of it. I don't want to see it. No, no, no. So what we're saying is the meal protected the appetizer.

00:10:40 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 4:

I kind of want to see it. I kind of do.

00:10:43 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 5:

Well, the Rottweiler got the best of the coyote.

00:10:48 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 4:

That's good. I like it. Fighting back. fighting for its own space.

00:10:55 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 5:

The Rottweiler took care of that coyote. Let me tell you, I'm just glad there wasn't a pack of them because that would have been...

00:11:01 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 4:

That's a coyote charcuterie board right there. That's a nibble on that thing. I like it. You know what? I like when the animals attack and the bad animal gets it. For some reason, I picture... You know, you're talking about what a coyote sounds like. I picture Scar from The Lion King.

00:11:17 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 1:

That's my dog.

00:11:17 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 4:

That's what I figured.

00:11:18 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 1:

Be prepared for a snack.

00:11:21 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 4:

A white crusty dog.

00:11:26 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 3:

Now that's an appropriate one.

00:11:28 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 1:

I love white crusty dogs. This is a word.

00:11:31 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 3:
