Oh, gosh. Happy weekend. Happy holiday weekend. It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Shannon, you were talking earlier this morning about how you're going to be going to Saga Talk for the weekend. And this is actually something that you wanted to bring up on the air to ask other listeners about. What's that?

00:02:02 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 9:

I'm just wondering if there are other moms or wives. You don't have to be a mom necessarily. Girlfriends who you know, if it weren't for you, these trips would not be happening. Nobody would be packed. There would be no food. There would be no plans. There would be no reservations. Am I sensing? there would be a little saltiness here weekend salty in seconds what's going on what is the reasoning for bringing this up so all six of us so myself wes all four kids and then my dad and my stepmom are all going are all heading to the west side of the state um and it was supposed to be a super laid-back weekend i said this at the start of the show with like beach days and hanging out at the dunes or whatever the weather is not cooperating so i'm having to try and make sure that everybody is not going to be bored to tears here i have made lists and packed indoor and outdoor games and activities i did the costco run yesterday effed up my car in the process it's me versus the curb curb one guys go look at my car booked a donut boat trip which is very much a saugatuck thing you know if you if you go there wes is texting me as i'm saying this made a few reservations packed for myself packed for lucy smith figured out places for all three dogs to be one of them is coming with us i did it all so i am just curious if there are other ladies in my position that you know it wouldn't happen if it weren't for you is that this must

00:03:33 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 6:

be very common because i feel like in our family this is chelsea too like this is her having to do everything is this is is this just a uh a woman thing where you guys take the uh the bull by the

00:03:45 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 9:

horns uh i mean yeah but if you don't then what then what so then what lies ahead and you gotta

00:03:54 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 6:

pack you you don't have to pack the two older kids do you because they'll pack themselves but i will tell you that that is i think of how we ever went or have gone away when the kids were younger and i don't know i look all of a sudden i'm like why are we bringing so many bags not realizing how many bags it takes to actually go yeah you know what i mean i mean it's this is a

00:04:15 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

different way but kind of in the same vein i have a friend he came in the studio and gave me that spirit of detroit award oh yeah yeah every group has a planner and you know you dictate certain roles right like you got your your hero you got your energy person you got your security person of the group you got the fun person you're just the planner you're the lady you're the lady of You're a family.

00:04:38 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 9:

Literally, Wes just texted me. He goes, but you're so good at it.

00:04:42 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 8:

That's your role.

00:04:43 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 9:

I'm like, no, do not pump me up here and make me feel good.

00:04:47 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 8:

That's where your greatness lies. Just one time, I want to sit back and just actually enjoy the trip. That would be the worst trip of your life.

00:04:54 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 7:

Because you would think you would enjoy it, but you would find every single hole. Hey, Rosie.

00:04:59 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

You're probably right.

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 1:

But in my head, I'm like, oh, that sounds lovely.

00:05:02 - 00:05:04 | Speaker 6:

Rosie, is this you and your family?

00:05:06 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 5:

Yep, that's totally me.

00:05:07 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:05:08 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 5:

Always. Always me.

00:05:10 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 6:

Nothing would happen without you, Rosie. You are the horse that pulls the wagon.

00:05:16 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 3:

That's Carol without the wagon. And they say, you don't have to do it, but it won't get done unless I'm doing it. Always.

00:05:22 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. No, that's something very relatable that Shannon's bringing up right now. Lots of people on the phone lines here. Danielle, what's up, Danielle?

00:05:30 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 5:

hi guys so first time long time um so this is me and i've been with my husband for 20 years um we're high school sweethearts and when we went on our honeymoon um i completely forgot to pack all of his shorts and we were in the caribbean so he was so mad at me and i said it's your fault You literally, all you had to do was tell me what you wanted.

00:06:04 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, wait, you pack him? Why are you packing him? He's a grown man. That's her fault. No, it's not. He's a grown man.

00:06:12 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 2:

If she's the one packing. But he should be packing himself. But that's not their relationship. Or double checking. If she's the one responsible for the packing and she knows they're going to the Caribbean, why the hell do I not have shorts?

00:06:24 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 6:

Because she's packing everybody else. Danielle, don't take that at all. actually start making your man more self-sufficient and everything will be okay.

00:06:34 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. I told him, I said, it's your fault. So don't blame me.

00:06:38 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, no,

00:06:39 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 5:

that's what I'm curious. What did he weigh for her on the bottom? Um, he, we made it work, but yeah, it was, he made it work.

00:06:51 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 6:

Hey, Leah, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi.

00:06:54 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 5:

Hi, how are you?

00:06:55 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 6:

Good. What's going on?

00:06:57 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 5:

Oh, first time, long time. We're going to get a lot of women calling us up first time,

00:07:02 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 6:

long time. Cause they can relate to this topic.

00:07:04 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 5:

Oh, I bet. I know. Like I was saying, and at least, Oh, I know my case. If I didn't plan the trip, the trips would never be planned at all. So that involves the packing. That involves all the right, like reservations where we're staying, figuring out stuff to do for the kids, figuring out stuff to do for our animals. Who's going to launch them. So my husband, he planned one trip once. and it was when we got engaged. So I know it's possible, but it has not happened since the last 10 years.

00:07:32 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 6:

What is that man's name so we can shout him out?

00:07:35 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 5:

Tyler.

00:07:36 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 6:

Hi, Tyler, who's probably right now wondering what he should do with his life because Leah's the one that has to do everything for him.

00:07:43 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 3:

Right. Oh, well. I think it happened.

00:07:46 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 6:

Tyler, you wouldn't have clean underwear if it wasn't for this woman that's on the phone here right now.

00:07:51 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 5:

Well, honestly, sometimes it's the truth.

00:07:54 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 6:

Thank you for the call. Hold on. Mariah says it's different in her family, though. Is that right, Mariah?

00:07:59 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it is. I'm actually the one that just called in about falling asleep down in Daytona. And it was pretty much that same trip. Like, if it wasn't for my husband planning it, it would have been more of a disaster than it already was.

00:08:11 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I remember that call. But also, this is interesting. So he's the guy that plans everything and does all the trip stuff.

00:08:19 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 5:

Yep, he does. The only thing I figure out is, like, our dogs and our daughter's schedule while we're gone.

00:08:25 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 6:

I've taken over a couple of the things. It used to be Chelsea did everything, and now I do the dogs, so that's mine. I contact the dog sitter. And then I have done the tickets, the airline tickets and things like that. But usually it was always Chelsea that was packing. There's somebody on the phone here this morning that says that Shannon is full of crap. Who could it be? And that person is her husband. What's up, Wes?

00:08:51 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 4:

Good morning, Shanley. Good morning. Good morning, man. Wow, when I get to drive to work, I get to hear lies from the show. This is great.

00:09:00 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 1:

Tell me what about I said was a lie.

00:09:03 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 4:

Listen, two years ago, the engagement of a lifetime was planned by who?

00:09:10 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 1:

But listen to what you just said. Two years ago was the last time you planned something. You just stepped in it, Wes.

00:09:16 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 4:

You're a fly in the ointment. You changed me.

00:09:20 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 6:

Wes, this is the problem. It was like the caller we just talked to. It's like that last time that the guys do anything is always the engagement or the honeymoon.

00:09:28 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 1:

You know, it's so funny is last night we were in bed and he looks at me. He's like, OK, I'm just I'm going to pack all my stuff in the morning. And I'm like, OK, whatever. That's fine. And he's like, is there anything that you need? And I'm thinking, well, yeah, you know, I already went and like to the grocery store at Costco. So did I did I not give you a list of like five things? I'm like, I'm just making him go to the. Yeah, I don't need any. Wow.

00:09:49 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 4:

I ignored it and I went into the garage and I got baseball gloves. I got all the stuff that the boys need.

00:09:56 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 6:

Wes.

00:09:56 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 4:

I packed the golf clubs. Yes, I did it. I packed.

00:09:59 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 6:

Isn't it nice?

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 7:

It's nice, though, to have your own personal party planner, you know, or personal travel agent.

00:10:06 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 5:

It's amazing. I love it. She does a wonderful job. I tell you, if I bought, you know, tortilla chips, they'd be the wrong chips.

00:10:13 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 7:

That is true, by the way. That's the thing. Sometimes, you know, you guys complain a little too much. Maybe that's what he's saying. All right, Wes.

00:10:21 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 6:

With the old ones, if I bought the wrong stuff, like, it's like, oh, no, the pancakes, they have to have dino shapes on them. I'm like, I forgot. 18 year olds and 8 year olds need different things

00:10:31 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 7:

was that an adjustment for you too like when you guys combine families and stuff figuring out exactly how you do these family vacations with everybody

00:10:39 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 5:

yes each kid wants something different and the older ones eat very healthy and my kids eat crap yes so it's interesting

00:10:50 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 6:

I blame parenting we'll talk to you later Wes

00:10:55 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 3:
