All right, it's Mojo in the morning. Is it okay as a parent to have a favorite? We've talked about this before with our own kids. What about our kids' friends?

Don't you have favorite friends of the boys?

Oh, yeah.

Like, you rank them. You read them in your head. You don't say that out loud, but you do.

I'm obvious with it. Like, I'm so obvious with their friends that I actually really, really like. And the ones that I don't like, I'm more obvious with.

I was going to say, and then there are those friends where you're like, please, I don't want them to be friends with her.

Why do you have this with your kids?

Well, I, so yes, I have it with, with all, with Lucy and Smith's friends. And I, I have it now with my stepson, Kieran's a new, he, he has a new friend. Um, and this kid came over the other night and I am obsessed with this guy. he is so polite so kind so compliment complimentary of like the house and the dogs and everything right off the get-go very well mannered and Wes and I were getting dinner ready for everybody and we were gonna throw like some steaks and chicken and stuff out on the grill this kid again first time at my house first time meeting him takes it upon himself to pick up the tray of food that I was getting ready to bring outside brings it outside sets it next to the grill I go out like you know to see what's going on he had taken it upon himself to clean he was scraping my grill and I was like oh I'm thinking what are you doing he looks at me and he's like your grill just seemed dirty so I'm just helping you out cleaned my whole grill cook helps cook the food and then when everything was said and done was putting stuff in like leftover and to-go containers and loading them up in my refrigerator, I was like, you can come over anytime you want. You are my new, I even said to my stepson, I'm like, that is my new favorite friend of yours. Welcome anytime.

It's so funny. There used to be an old, old show called Leave it to Beaver. I don't know if you've ever heard that show.

Well, do you know what he's called? He is Eddie Haskell. Eddie Haskell. Eddie Haskell was the friend of the brother, right? That he would come over and he was the kid that would kiss ass all the time.

Don't you want to know, like, if he's like this at his home with his parents or if he's just doing it to kiss ass? You know what I mean?

For sure. And on the other end of the spectrum, like, Lucy has a friend or two that I constantly have to come up with excuses of why she can't come over to our house for a play date because she is just wild.

She's too much. Oh, really? She's too much. Yes. At first, I might have been a little pissed, though. Like, what you mean my grill dirty? Oh, no. I don't think that thing's been cleaned since I got it. He's like, I ain't eating on this. I need to clean this up.

For my kids, each of my kids, I have the one that's, like, the favorite. For Joe, it's Grant. uh joe's friend uh grant galasa is like my favorite and grant's my favorite because he's one of those ones where i could see myself hanging out and i have hung out with him without joe around like we've gone out and i think it's because he also is like this kid We'll come over to the house and you'll be like, this is funny. Grant took out of every one of our shower heads, the, the Obama igniter thing that keeps the water from being too, too fierce. Remember President Obama put that in when he was president where they wanted the water to not come out too much because they said they were wasting water in the, the shower heads. So he would go in there and pop that little thing out so that the water would have water pressure. and I had him do every one of them in our house. So all the bathrooms now I have.

It's like a turbo jet. Oh, yeah. You're in a jacuzzi when you're in there.

I'm going crazy. And then Luke's friend, yesterday we were hanging out at the Tigers game. Luke's friend, Nolan, is my favorite. And I think it's because he's just a good kid. And I always say to Luke all the time, I go, I really like this kid. He's one of those kids that comes up to you and will shake your hand and look you in the eye. And I guarantee you, he's like probably drunk or high or something. Did I meet Nolan at the Lions game?

Did I meet Nolan? Yeah. He is a good guy.

He's a great kid. He's very appreciative when he comes to the house and does something. Or like yesterday with the game, he was appreciative to go to the game.

When you guys were younger, were you the good friend?

I was. I was the kiss-ass.

You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm a kiss-ass in every situation, let's be real.

So maybe. Because I feel like all my friends, parents, if you were to ask them and point out like of the friend group who was their favorite, I feel like I always made it a point to be that. But I was also like one of the wildest ones. I feel like it goes hand to hand.

I feel like it was just immediate, like always clean up after myself or offer to help in any way I could.

But Mrs. Yeager, Brad, my friend Brad's mom, Mrs. Yeager used to call me Jagoff all the time. So like I'd come over to the house and I didn't think she liked me for the longest time. And so one time I said to Brad, I go, Brad, I don't think your mom likes me. She calls me Jagoff, and she goes, no, she calls everybody Jagoff. Like, that was her thing. She would go, you're my favorite, Jagoff. But Brad's mom was good. And then Tom Barrett's mom, I remember going to the house, and Tom wasn't there. I stayed all day, and she made me lunch.

Are you kidding?

Oh, it was great. She was like, oh, you can stay around. They had a pool. I went swimming by my floor. Literally, I'm hanging in the back. What are the boys? Tom comes over. Tom came home from work, and Tom's like, what are you doing? What's up, Amy?

What's going on?

So, my daughter is in middle school, so we all know how, like, teenage girls can be. They have those friends that you absolutely love, and then they have those friends that you do with. And my daughter has this friend. So, my daughter's weird. She's quirky. She's loud. She's obnoxious, but she's very respectful. But she has this one friend, and they've been friends since, like, second grade. And they met, and they got in trouble in second grade for smacking each other in the butt. And I had to get a phone call. I actually got a phone call from the teacher, and I'm like, what's going on? And I'm like, oh, here we go, you know, because she got in trouble for praying over kids in preschool. So I'm like, okay, you know, something happened. No, she and this little girl were smacking each other, and this little girl ended up being, like, my favorite. My hands-down favorite friend of hers. She's weird. She's quirky. She walks on her hands. She's like this weird little girl, and she is such the most respectful, kind, sensitive. She balances out my daughter so well, but she is hands down my favorite of my daughters.

I'm telling you, when you meet these kids, the kids that are your favorites are the ones that you could see yourself hanging out with if you were your daughter, right?

I liked how she went from praying to kids to smacking them. Annie. What's up, Annie?

Good morning. So my daughter has a best friend named Presley, and she's the child that will just, she pretty much just lives at our house, especially for the summer. But when my daughter and her get sick of each other, I'll just find her, watch the TV in the living room by herself. She'll go out and skim the pool.

Oh, my God.

The biggest help.

She skims your pool? Like, she helps you clean your pool?

And the house. Like, she'll just do dishes. Like, she's completely a part of the family.

That's so awesome.

So children in general, everybody will always say, Annie, your kids are so good. I'm like, are you talking about my kids? They're so respectful. Are you talking about me?

Our kids go over to other people's homes, and that's nice when they're better over at other people's homes. That's how we was trained.

I'm always like, you better not go out there and act that embarrass me.

So my daughter is probably like the only one who I like. I like her friends. I don't like my son's friends.

i like my daughter they just teenagers and teenagers are teenagers and this generation of teenagers i can't get with but my daughter she has a friend harmony she just met over the summer and that's the only sweet young lady i've met out of everybody she's sweet she always says hi they call me whenever times of the day just to say hi and they just hang like they're just very respectful She had a sister named London, so they're the Powerpuff Girls.

oh my son is 11 and i don't know what it is but he picks like i think he scans like the classroom of the room to find the naughtiest kids like i my daughter she's 13 all her friends they'll come over they're kind respectful they're so nice and sweet love them my son every time he picks a friend to come over i'm like sure he had one friend he was like i want to play catch so or he wants to hit the baseball so i'm pitching the ball to him he is intentionally trying to take out like my swimming pool he tried taking my daughter out on the swing set it's terrible do you do what i do

with the younger ones that don't have phones like smith will ask for a play date with certain kids and he's like did they did the mom text back yet i never texted the mom in the first place That child is not coming to my house. I have done that before.

That is so funny.

I have done that sometimes. He's like, how come so-and-so can't come on? I'm like, I don't know. Their mom's not really funny. They must be really busy.

My daughter keeps trying to make me be friends with all of her friends' moms. Like, we're just all the same.

That's funny. That is so funny.

I'm okay with that with my daughter's friends. But my son... I don't think they're having their own kids. We're making friends right now.

I got one better. Have him switch the M's in the house. Have him take those off. Do you think. Keith, do you think that this kid's cleaning the grill because he wants to? Or do you think he's cleaning the grill because Shannon's standing next to the damn thing?
