No, my flight almost got canceled. It got delayed and delayed and delayed. Luce and I, so I took a mommy-daughter trip, which if you listen to the show, if you've listened to the show, you know that this is a tradition of sorts for us. And we do it every single year, the same weekend of the year. We've done it since she was five years old and now she's 10. And so yesterday we were supposed to come home at two o'clock. By the way, was that an uh? No, no. Like, she looks like a teenager. Yeah. It's insanity. Don't you know, like, a kid in your life that... growing up and it just makes you feel like some one of the pleasures of my life is not having children is I don't ever feel old you know like I always feel like so young and so but then there's children in your life that grow up and you're like but the last time I saw you you were in diapers and now you're going into high school and this is not okay I get that crazy isn't it I know

I was looking at pictures from our first trip and then comparing them to this weekend's trip and it's just it's insane how much she's grown but i i had a lot of time to do those sorts of comparisons with photos at the airport yesterday because i was there for eight hours that's how long our flight was delayed and um and the guy kept getting on the thing and he's like we're not promising that this flight that this plane that's coming in is going to be for us We're just crossing our fingers. So I had a hotel ready to go. I had tickets for six o'clock this morning, purchased and ready to go. Like we were prepared. But after about hour four at LaGuardia, I was about to lose my mind.

Question for you. Do you say to yourself, I don't care if I can't use the bathroom the entire flight, which I've had before. They literally said, the only reason we can't get you on this flight is there's no bathrooms that are working. I'm like, that's okay. We will all hold our bowels.

Pass out diapers. And our bledders. Pass out adult diapers. So this was a pressurization issue and they took the plane out of service. And they were like, we don't have another plane. I would take non-pressurization. Make me wear a mask.

I'll wear the mask that comes from.

We don't have another plane until 8.15 tonight. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. So I was like, all right. I called Wes. I'm like, should I drive? It's nine and a half hours. I tried to get out on every other flight. There was nothing. I tried to fly to Grand Rapids, and I thought, I'll rent a car there. Like, I just wanted to get. There's a point where you just want to get home.

You know what I look at sometimes? I would rather have my flight cancel on the way going to whatever trip than have it canceled on the way home. And I know it's weird to say this because, yeah, you get an extra day wherever you're at. But when I am ready to go home, I am ready to go home.

And it's not a day of fun.

It's a day of stuck in an airport. Right. And that's why Lucy was like, oh, we can go do this. We can go do this. I go, Lucy, we are staying here to see if this flight goes out. And by the time we know if it's going out or not, it's going to be 9 o'clock. We're going to stay at the airport and go to bed.

All it is is an expensive night in a hotel in bad food or room service. You know what I mean?

Oh, they gave us a $12 credit each. Oh, wow.

Which was very lovely. Wow, that's a packet of peanuts. Very lovely. And stress texts from me all day yesterday.

Having to come in and have that time. She didn't give a damn about Shannon getting better. Correct. She just ain't going to do that.

I was asking about Lucy and if your flight was on time. Literally nothing about me. Not a thing. It's okay. I don't give a crap about you.

I met a lot of Mojo in the Morning listeners sitting at that gate, gate 64 at LaGuardia. So if I said hi to you and we chatted, it was very lovely to meet you. And I'm so grateful for you because you made the time pass a lot faster.

Two things. First off, there is nothing that I'm scared of more than going to an airport and having my flight delay more than an hour. That seems like the most disgusting, emotionally draining experience of my entire life. And thank God that I've never had to deal with it more than an hour.

Are you serious? You've never?

Never more than an hour? Now you just put it out there. Don't fly anywhere. I'm great. Secondly, I don't give a damn what's wrong with the plane. Fix that bitch. I don't care how long it takes. Pressurize, wing, fix everything before I got to get on or I'm not trying to fly.

I'm the opposite of you. Take your time. Don't hurry. Fix it as well as it needs to be fixed. I hate seeing duck came planes taken off on the runway and you see a piece of duck. No, no, fix it. But I think waiting in an airport also depends on who you're traveling with. Waiting in an airport by myself, terrible. With my father, who has millions of frequent flyer miles. Ooh, what a luxury.

And can get you into the Sky Club. Um, can I just say this to you? Some people look at this as God speaking, saying, don't get on that flight at all. Did you think that?

Lucy asked me why I was so calm, because you guys know I tend to get very stressed out, very stressed out. I got two and a half hours of sleep, guys. Very stressed out and anxious very quickly. And I was so calm. And I said, I feel like this is a Jesus thing that we are not on that plane for a reason. And so we're just going to make the best of this situation.

I'm not joking, I really do I mean, think about those, you know, we go back to 9-11 I mean, we all remember that, right? There were some people that I remember them doing stories on That were supposed to be on those flights and didn't make it on the flights

The airline should cop drinks. Like if I get on a flight and it's been delayed two hours, three hours, once I get on there, they should offer everybody a drink.

They gave us miles. They gave us 6,000 miles each. Wow. And then they gave us. That's not bad. No, and we didn't even ask. They just did that. And then they gave us the $12 credit.

Eventually you can cash them in for free flights. But I will say this to you about drinks. The reason that they don't is because then when they eventually get the wings working, they don't want a bunch of drunk a-holes on a plane that they got to deal with.

the various people that I was talking to, like, what's the real story? Is this flight going to get out tonight or should I just book a backup? And the lady was kind of like wishy-washy with me and I was like, I'm going to book this refundable flight in the morning just in case because I didn't believe her.

Do you want to hear a wild delay story? Yeah. So my dad was stuck in an airport one time for two and a half hours because the president was getting a haircut on Air Force One on the runway. Stop it. No, not kidding you. Drove out a hairstyle, so go get him a haircut.

funny how lucy passed the time though like we obviously went and ate and we walked around and like i say shopped in quotation marks you know you shop at like the gift the gift shops or whatever but if there's an airport to get stuck in la guardia in new york city is a great one because it's brand new and we say it's very fancy it is she went to all the women's restrooms and they have this thing where you walk out of the restroom oh do i feel like you've been to la guardia recently yeah it was great and the women's restroom too yeah and the women's restroom but they have it looks like a laptop before you walk out yeah and it's like rate your service yeah and it's these little smiley faces and then you can give a review so she went into every restroom and gave the people very nice reviews that's cool and then i was like you wash your hands for 10 minutes i'm touching all those screens they have like the they have literally
