know. I don't know how you and Chels have it where if you're going to make a big purchase, you, you, you tell each other, you make each other aware. What kind of a purchase are we talking about for so so specifically this is carpet oh for so the for the house for the house okay so

yeah so in our so in our house our house like honestly chelsea and i we're good with to a certain point we know kind of like a dollar amount of what it would be considered a good big purchase yeah but we if we're going to do something for the house she picks out anything that is aesthetics but we will talk about financial together to make sure that it's not

financially out of our realm. So that's how we are too. I think I, well, I know I made a big oopsie here and it's a big misunderstanding and it's total miscommunication on my part. And now I feel like the biggest idiot. So we, my entire house is hardwood floors. You guys have been to my house except for my stairs and the three bedrooms. And when I moved into that house and put new carpet in, I didn't anticipate having four children living there and three dogs. and so the carpet at this point is wrecked the dogs have peed all over it the dog pee does not come out um because it's a little carpet so it it was time to replace the carpet and so wes and i had we have a list of different things that we want to do for our house and carpet was at the top of the list and he had said to me a couple of weeks ago you know go ahead and schedule an appointment to have somebody come out and get you know and and pick out some carpet and so i thought okay so I call our friend Joey Zago over at the carpet guys yeah he sends oh this great guy to my house and um I I had him measure he brought all the carpet samples to the house I picked out the carpet and I had even texted Wes and tried to call him when they were at my house with all the carpet I'm like hey do you like this one or this one and he wrote I totally trust you and I'm like perfect so picked out all the carpet scheduled an install date put my credit card down they charged my credit card April 1st they are coming out and doing the carpet so Wes comes home and I'm telling him like okay you know based on all the photos I sent you this is the one I picked this is the one I picked they're coming April 1st and he was like well how much wait he's like you already paid for it and I go yeah you you told me you trusted me so I just pulled the trigger and and paid for it and he's like no you dummy i meant we were gonna get like a bunch of estimates and then kind of go from there and figure out what we were gonna do oh so it was the price more than what i think it was more than what it was more than wes had anticipated it being and so i and i am used to just doing everything by myself because that's how it's been for

years now and so did you where did the price make you gulp a little bit or you know well i knew how

much i had paid 12 years ago or 10 years ago whatever when i got carpet and so this was like kind of close to that number but also i'm like that was a decade ago yeah like the price is not going to be the same and um so i felt like a dummy i had to call the guy back then next day and explain in panic what had happened and i'm like my husband is having a heart attack i i am in trouble and i need you to help me here okay work with me here so but has that ever happened to you where you made a big purchase and then your spouse found out about it and

and you're going oh crap yeah well it has happened where we've done something we're in on both of us i've done one and chelsea's done one where we both made a purchase and then when we found out how much it cost afterwards we were both like oh that purchase no longer is as fun as it was like you know what i mean like it changes your perspective on something because i've had it before where i ended up buying some stuff for our backyard like some outdoor furniture for the backyard and i said chelsea i really like this stuff i saw it bought it and then when chelsea found out how much it cost it was like i don't care what the hell you think like this thing could have been the most gorgeous stuff in the world but it wasn't that gorgeous you know what i mean yeah and the same thing too with the house like you you know you anytime you're buying something for the house like you want it to obviously be functional affordable okay so i had to go back

in my text he literally so i'm sending him all the text about the carpet megan be my witness you can see you can see what did he write right there i trust you i took that as the green light run Shan, run. Get it done. Check it off the list.

You know what, though? This is a good negotiation ploy.

Honestly, though, yeah.
