information. All right. It is Mojo in the morning. Shannon, you had to tail between the legs and you had to call them back up and say, no, we're not going to do it. This is still going on. So I don't

00:01:43 - 00:02:00 | Speaker 5:

know. I don't know how you and Chels have it where if you're going to make a big purchase, you, you, you tell each other, you make each other aware. What kind of a purchase are we talking about for so so specifically this is carpet oh for so the for the house for the house okay so

00:02:00 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 4:

yeah so in our so in our house our house like honestly chelsea and i we're good with to a certain point we know kind of like a dollar amount of what it would be considered a good big purchase yeah but we if we're going to do something for the house she picks out anything that is aesthetics but we will talk about financial together to make sure that it's not

00:02:20 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 5:

financially out of our realm. So that's how we are too. I think I, well, I know I made a big oopsie here and it's a big misunderstanding and it's total miscommunication on my part. And now I feel like the biggest idiot. So we, my entire house is hardwood floors. You guys have been to my house except for my stairs and the three bedrooms. And when I moved into that house and put new carpet in, I didn't anticipate having four children living there and three dogs. and so the carpet at this point is wrecked the dogs have peed all over it the dog pee does not come out um because it's a little carpet so it it was time to replace the carpet and so wes and i had we have a list of different things that we want to do for our house and carpet was at the top of the list and he had said to me a couple of weeks ago you know go ahead and schedule an appointment to have somebody come out and get you know and and pick out some carpet and so i thought okay so I call our friend Joey Zago over at the carpet guys yeah he sends oh this great guy to my house and um I I had him measure he brought all the carpet samples to the house I picked out the carpet and I had even texted Wes and tried to call him when they were at my house with all the carpet I'm like hey do you like this one or this one and he wrote I totally trust you and I'm like perfect so picked out all the carpet scheduled an install date put my credit card down they charged my credit card April 1st they are coming out and doing the carpet so Wes comes home and I'm telling him like okay you know based on all the photos I sent you this is the one I picked this is the one I picked they're coming April 1st and he was like well how much wait he's like you already paid for it and I go yeah you you told me you trusted me so I just pulled the trigger and and paid for it and he's like no you dummy i meant we were gonna get like a bunch of estimates and then kind of go from there and figure out what we were gonna do oh so it was the price more than what i think it was more than what it was more than wes had anticipated it being and so i and i am used to just doing everything by myself because that's how it's been for

00:04:33 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 4:

years now and so did you where did the price make you gulp a little bit or you know well i knew how

00:04:41 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 5:

much i had paid 12 years ago or 10 years ago whatever when i got carpet and so this was like kind of close to that number but also i'm like that was a decade ago yeah like the price is not going to be the same and um so i felt like a dummy i had to call the guy back then next day and explain in panic what had happened and i'm like my husband is having a heart attack i i am in trouble and i need you to help me here okay work with me here so but has that ever happened to you where you made a big purchase and then your spouse found out about it and

00:05:18 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 2:

and you're going oh crap yeah well it has happened where we've done something we're in on both of us i've done one and chelsea's done one where we both made a purchase and then when we found out how much it cost afterwards we were both like oh that purchase no longer is as fun as it was like you know what i mean like it changes your perspective on something because i've had it before where i ended up buying some stuff for our backyard like some outdoor furniture for the backyard and i said chelsea i really like this stuff i saw it bought it and then when chelsea found out how much it cost it was like i don't care what the hell you think like this thing could have been the most gorgeous stuff in the world but it wasn't that gorgeous you know what i mean yeah and the same thing too with the house like you you know you anytime you're buying something for the house like you want it to obviously be functional affordable okay so i had to go back

00:06:09 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 5:

in my text he literally so i'm sending him all the text about the carpet megan be my witness you can see you can see what did he write right there i trust you i took that as the green light run Shan, run. Get it done. Check it off the list.

00:06:25 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 2:

You know what, though? This is a good negotiation ploy.

00:06:27 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 5:

Honestly, though, yeah.

00:06:28 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 2:

Because you call up Joey Zago over the carpet guys and say to him, say, listen.

00:06:32 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 5:

Who I love. Yeah.

00:06:32 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 2:

Say, listen, this is more than what Wes wants to spend.

00:06:35 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 5:

Oh, they know.

00:06:36 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 2:

Where are you coming now? They know. Come back at me with a better price.

00:06:39 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 5:

I called the guy who's so sweet, who helped me, and I truly was like, how can we fix this?

00:06:46 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 2:

Help me fix this. What did he say? What was his reaction? Oh, he was so great. You're on your own? Go to counseling?

00:06:51 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 5:

Nope. He was like, okay. I was like, we're going to make this. We're going to make it work for you.

00:06:54 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 1:

See, when you said installation day was April 1st.

00:06:57 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 5:

It's still on my calendar.

00:06:58 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 1:

It could just be April Fool's. I don't know.

00:07:02 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 2:

Have you thought about hardwood floors? They might be a little cheaper. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is telephone number. What was the biggest purchase that you made that your spouse either was like, what the hell are you doing? Or maybe they made you have to go return it. Could you imagine having to go?

00:07:20 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 5:

And that's what I'm saying. I felt so dumb making that phone call going, I'm in trouble.

00:07:25 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 2:

You know what this reminds me of? When I was a little kid and I would throw something in the cart, you know, like my mom would take me to Target. What's up, April? How you doing?

00:07:35 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 3:

Good. How are you?

00:07:37 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 2:

Fantastic. You had a situation happen to Shannon?

00:07:42 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 3:

Well, not like he happened to Shannon, but yeah, I had an unexpected purchase that was not approved. um my ex-husband and i were on the tail end of our marriage and he decided to uh he decided to um go and take my van that was had you know uh a thousand dollars left to pay on it like to be

00:08:03 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 2:

paid off and he traded in for a brand new truck oh my god he put you into another payment huh

00:08:09 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 3:

that's not good uh yeah yeah but then when we split up and we had two trucks because we already We had one because, you know, we needed another one.

00:08:16 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, you needed another one like you needed a hole in your head.

00:08:20 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah.

00:08:21 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 5:

You're such a dad. You're such a dad.

00:08:23 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 2:

Exactly. I needed another. You needed another one like you needed a hole. Where did that come from?

00:08:28 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. I'm going to say that. You have it? No, that was wild. Oh, my money is the same. No, I was trying not to react.

00:08:34 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 2:

You guys, you got to open up your vernacular a little bit here.

00:08:38 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 1:

That's one of those ones.

00:08:39 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 2:

Olivia, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning. What's happening?

00:08:42 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 3:

Well, you know, Shannon, give yourself a little break there because this is kind of your house that they moved into, and you guys are really just ready. That doesn't work that way anymore.

00:08:53 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 2:

I want to see Shannon.

00:08:53 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 4:

No, it doesn't work that way anymore.

00:08:55 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 2:

Make that phone call the West right now and say, this is my house. Yeah, no way.

00:08:59 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 3:

Wait, no, I will not. So, I mean, it's... This lady works for the carpet guys. I don't think it's like a...

00:09:07 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 5:

I don't understand what you're saying.

00:09:11 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 2:

And, you know, I'm listening to you right now, and I'm feeling like I have Charlie Brown's teacher on the phone line with me right now.

00:09:20 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 5:

Again, let's go back to those three words. I trust you.

00:09:25 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Yeah.

00:09:27 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 2:

Hi, Kim. What's going on?

00:09:30 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 4:

Yes, I accidentally made a posh purchase of $10,000 because my daughter, I was showing her how much a Louis would cost. and somehow I hit the button and my husband immediately called me about five minutes later and told me, what the hell did you just buy for $10,000? On Clashmark? Somehow.

00:09:50 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

On Clashmark, yeah. $10,000 Louis. Somehow.

00:09:54 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 5:

What kind of Louis cost $10,000? How did that go through?

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. How do you somehow look at the button? It was true, and he immediately called me.

00:10:04 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 6:

So what did you do? Did you get to return it?

00:10:06 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we reversed the charges, yeah.

00:10:09 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 6:

Oh, wow. That's one. Honey, we got a problem. Somebody stole my card. That's what I would have told them. What's up, Dawn?

00:10:17 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 3:

Hi. Well, back in the day when Art Van was around, I got the approval from the husband to go and pick out an entertainment center. And as I'm looking at the entertainment center, I'm realizing it's not going to match this. So then I ended up with a new living room set, couch, butt seat.

00:10:35 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 6:

You fell for it.

00:10:37 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 3:

And then a kitchen table.

00:10:39 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. So what happened? What did your husband do when he saw that purchase on the card?

00:10:46 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 3:

Oh, well, let's just say when it all got delivered, I had one of my best girlfriends come over, and we watched him walk up the drive and kind of looking in the big picture window going, what uh you know what yeah that was done why i'm divorced now
