Mojo on the morning show. So Shannon got to meet Wes's dad. Wes is Shannon's boyfriend for the first time?

It's actually his stepdad, but it is the man who raised him. Wes's dad and mom have both passed. So it was his stepdad who I met for the very first time. He's remarried now. And Wes hadn't seen him since before the pandemic. So it's been a long time. Where does he live? He lives in Canada.

Oh, okay.

But schedules just didn't match up like the few times that I was there to meet him. So I met him for the first time this weekend. And he came and he stayed at Wes's house. He is a totally wonderful human being. Kind of reminds me a lot of my dad. Just like salt of the earth. But he has a British accent. And I did not know that. It's like Wes left that part out. You know how I am with accents. I was like, I had no idea.

Is his name Harry? His name is not Harry. Because that would be only fitting. That would be perfect.

His name is not Harry. Charles? William? No. Nope. His name is Derek. Elizabeth? No. No, Derek.

So I, I spent the entire day with Wes and his kids and his dad. And, um, I am taking a flight tomorrow out of the country and I'm taking a red eye. so I want to make sure I'm so nervous about this stupid flight because I want to make sure that I sleep so that when I arrive I'm like awake and ready to go and energized and you know I I've only taken a sleeping pill once in my life and it was after I had LASIK surgery many many years ago they gave me one to make sure that like they want you to keep your eyes closed so you can heal for a couple of hours same thing happening yeah yeah and it was glorious I remember having the best longest nap of my life. So I thought I'm going to ask my mom for a sleeping pill. I know she has some. And then, you know, I want to I'll grab it and then try it on the plane. Well, my mom, for whatever reason, was not.

keen on the idea of giving me a sleeping pill. I don't know why. That's besides the point. So I asked some of my girlfriends, does anybody have any sleeping pills? Well, nobody had sleeping pills, but they all, I'm out of the loop here, they all take nighttime gummies to help them sleep. So, I should have just asked you. Wow, the whole room got very

excited about it. I would have got you.

So, I didn't realize that there were gummies specific for that. So, my one girlfriend said, come over, I'm going to give you a few of them because you probably should practice with them and make sure that you know exactly how much to take so that you're not overdosing yourself on this flight and you either are super groggy when you wake up and can't function or that you you know you don't have some sort of weird reaction to them or whatever like so I'm like all right I'm gonna practice taking one so smart me I take one the first night that I am hanging out with Wes's dad we love to see it you took it before you hung on with him? No, I mean, we went out to dinner and everything and I was good. I was my normal self but then we went back to Wes' house and he knew I was going to, you know, take it and try it and quote unquote practice so I took it and half hour later, I was living my best life

So you didn't even take it like right before you were going to bed you took it while you were still with dad

We were watching a movie, I think We were watching something What's next? What were we watching? Well, it takes a little while

A kick in, right? So you have to take it before bed. Yes. But it doesn't take hours to kick in.

It took about a half hour. No. It takes a half hour. I've taken an edible before, but I've never taken one for sleep. You are high as a f***ing kite. I have to say, it was about half hour, 45 minutes. And all of a sudden, I was like, I am warm and I'm happy. Oh, my God. And I am tired. Yeah, I have chocolate-covered blueberries, specifically for nighttime. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Change your life. Yeah, so I went. I went right to bed, and when I woke up in the morning, his dad was sleeping on the couch, and he's like,

how did you sleep? Oh, so dad knew you did it. Great.

Yes, because everybody was making fun of me. Wes's kids were making fun of me. Wes was making fun of me. So I don't know if I made a good first impression.

Did you do anything while you were sleeping? Did Wes say you woke up and you were like, He said I was a rock.

Really? He's like, normally you move all over the bed. You stayed in one place. It was amazing. I am in love with the gummies. Not just my boyfriend.

So it was the first time I met my now husband's dad and stepmom, and they were driving me home from my friend's quinceanero practice. And we pulled up in the driveway And I guess after they drove away His dad called my parents hillbillies Because my dad drove a 98 Ram on a Lyft kit

The second meeting had to be a lot more fun By the way, that makes you a hillbilly But did you defend your dad or just ignore it?

I was not in the car My sister-in-law was Um, but it, yeah, it was very interesting. I have a great relationship with them now, but way back then we did not have such a great relationship.

Wow. Uh, Blake, what was the meeting with the parents like?

All right. So my now father-in-law, uh, he was in an argument with my now wife and I can't remember what the argument was about, but it ended up with him saying you're grounded. Now she's 20 She was 21 years old at the time And he said you're grounded And she said that's not happening And he said well if you don't like it Then you can find somewhere else to live And when he said that to her

I said just move in with me Oh no He didn't even stay out of it

Yep And so that's how I moved my girlfriend And when I When we went over there to go pick up her stuff He was supposed to have been at work

But I guess something happened at the work That they had the day off So sure enough I'm sitting in the car And I'm getting ready to get out Go out and go help her And he comes outside chasing after her Yelling at her And then he just kind of stopped and looked at me And I was like hi I'm Blake Were you involved in like

No no it was something to do with She had something that she had to pick up Or something It was something that wasn't that big of a deal that turned into a big deal.

And you guys get along now?

Yeah, we're totally fine now. We bond over wrestling in WWE.

Well, my now husband and I had been dating for about two years, and I had never met his parents in person because they were across the state. They were in Grosse Pointe. We were in Grand Rapids. And I can't remember if it was the first time or the second time meeting them in person. And we had to tell them we were pregnant before we got married with our son. Oh, gosh. It was so embarrassing. I was like, I don't even know these people. And I have to tell them that they're going to be grandparents.

Oh, my gosh. Were they, like, good about it? Everything was good?

My mother-in-law thought we were joking for, like, a good 15 minutes. We were like, no, like, this is happening. You're going to be grandparents.

Megan, what did your – this is your ex's family. What did they call you when you met them for the first time?

They came up from Florida, and he – after we met, he proceeded to call me a swamp donkey. A what? Swamp donkey. What is a swamp donkey? I'm pretty sure it was not nice. Yeah, well, I was going to say it doesn't sound very nice.

I don't know exactly what it is, but it's not nice. Do I dare Google?
