honest mistake but what happened it was absolutely an honest mistake so my sister emily um we were celebrating her birthday last night and one of the things that she really wanted to do for her birthday like she didn't want to do gifts or anything she wanted all of us to do an experience and so we went to one of those uh candlelight concerts i don't know if you've seen them like i always see the ads on instagram and facebook and i think to myself are these things real or is this a scam they're very real and we went to the taylor swift by candlelight last night which was so much fun um and so my my other sister jacqueline had ordered a cake for her and she's vegan so she got a cake from a place here in eastern market and she had texted me and said can you pick it up on your way home from work because this this bakery is literally right or right around the corner from your new studio i said yep no problem so yesterday after the after the show i rolled up to this place the owner brought it out to my car i put it on my front seat went home put it on my kitchen counter i um i had a couple of meetings in the afternoon we had to host the wicked premiere i mean by the time i picked up the kids from school and got back home it was like 5 30 and my mom came over to my house because we were all gonna go out to dinner together and i was driving with my mom and she looked at the cake sitting on my counter which mind you i had not even opened or anything so i didn't even know what it looked like i just knew it was a vegan cake from this bakery that i picked it up for from an easter market and my mom goes how long have you had the cake out i go i don't know i got it at like noon did anybody tell you it was an ice cream cake come on oh my god no everybody failed to tell me that the damn cake was an ice cream cake so i just sent a picture to the group chat this thing was so melted i mean it was it was no longer an ice cream cake it was a milkshake that we stuck some candles in

when you picked it so the person put it in your car but when you picked it up out of the car put it on the counter it didn't feel like it was cold or anything like that it did feel chilly

but didn't feel like it was yesterday when i pick up and it wasn't from christine's i they they make sure that they're like a little chilled and they tell you put it on the counter and let it get to room temperature i literally thought that it was that and it wasn't you were picking this up at

dairy queen and it wasn't like an oreo i couldn't even tell you the name of the place that i picked

it up really because my sister said call this number he's gonna run it out to your car that's it honestly i would have made that mistake deal you guys i felt so bad and my my sister who bought the cake was not super thrilled with me and also was like how do you how did it look like at the

end of the night like what did you get in i sent you a picture that i didn't see it where's it at

oh it's in the oh here no i'll find it um you guys i felt so bad because i i'm sure a vegan

ice cream cake is not oh my god and it it looked like it had been beautiful at one point like i didn't even untape the lid to look at it because... You guys still put

birthday cake tastes like it tasted delicious come on melted it did really well once my mom said that to me because we still had to go out to dinner at that point yeah so i put it in the freezer for a little bit and it froze up a little bit that's still what it was like i just saw

something the other day that if you're trying to save money they said that going vegan will save you money yeah meat's super expensive yeah i saw that but i didn't realize that i would think that all the other stuff the the trying to find things would be expensive yeah but think about this stuff

that's like truly super expensive at the grocery store it's like uh milk and cheese dairy and meat

yeah yeah although i would think that the fake stuff would be bad so that's funny oh my god shannon that is this is that is an honest mistake that i think anybody would have made

yeah like not knowing i love ice cream everything you ruined everything i did yeah i absolutely did my poor sister's like she didn't ask for one single gift nothing and like i effed up the cake

it's kind of a bummer that she's not here today but lydia did the same thing for my birthday when you're here where she got me an ice cream cake and just throughout the show it just melted oh

really i can't be trusted with cakes because i don't know if you remember maybe it was two years ago now i my girlfriends all like venmoed me to pick up a birthday cake for one of our other friends who was celebrating a birthday and i put it outside to keep it cold and the squirrels ate

the whole thing oh geez i remember that why do i have such bad luck i have to tell you that um i don't know if i'm gonna like the idea that we're now working in the city because of what happened to you i feel like i've had to run more errands now like people asking you for like people saying hey can you go pick this up or can you do that like randomly this last week everybody's like hey so where's your radio studios at and i'll tell them and they'll be like oh that's cool could you ride by and like people have asked me to go pick up things at the ford field uh gift shop could they want something that's there people have asked me like hey is there any way that you could like run and go get something at quicken like a buddy of mine that like forgot something yeah i'm like i don't want to be that i'm not doordash by the way doordashing here at the station is kind of getting weird too that the fact that the doordash guys don't know how to get to us we gotta have some signs put out in front what's up bethany how you doing

oh i'm doing all just uh get ready for work oh thanks for listening to let shannon know that this is not her fault no she didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle i wouldn't if someone told me to pick up a cake i would put it i would have done the exact same thing i hadn't did unless they

gave me the information that it was ice cream well the people at the at the bakery should have said by the way it's ice cream cake get it in a freezer or something anybody anybody who was involved

the only thing he said to me was make sure you use a really big knife to cut it and i thought well okay it's a big cake yeah but i think he made that because it was going to be rock hard

right thanks bethany what's up aaron how you doing good i did the exact same thing as shannon see honest mistake i was actually it wasn't my family member though i was working and i was serving at a local restaurant and um they asked me to put the cake in the back by the time it was time for cake i went in the back and the whole cake was melted all over the pricey.

Yeah, we fixed it up with some whipped cream and some sprinkles that we had, so I just took it out like that and I was like, I am so sorry.

It's not the same. Has anybody ever done this? Have you guys ever, because I think I talked about this on the air years ago, went to the Kroger, and you know how they give you the little plastic bags and you put them in the back of your car and when you move around, things get out of it? Yes, yes. A half a thing of ice cream, whatever, I don't even know how big they are those little cardboard briars ice creams or whatever fell out of my bag melted and i didn't had no clue that it was in my car for as long as it was my car smelled like rotten feet it was so bad for the longest time uh thank you for the call take care of yourself although the weather's getting warmer now you can use your car as your ice box if you want
