All right, it is Mojo in the morning. Mojo, Shannon, Megan, Kev, KP, Lydia, Zach. Good to have you guys here with us. Shannon had a hellacious weekend, one that I'm sure if you're a parent, you understand. You spent the weekend?

In the hospital.

In the ER.

Yeah, yeah. So Friday evening, we were eating dinner, and it was myself, Wes, and then Lucy and Smith. and Smith was playing with this like fidget toy that he has and it's a bunch of magnet beads that are all stuck together and you can like make different you know figurines or whatever I don't know shapes out of them and Wes had said to him hey buddy you got to be really really careful with those around the dogs because if one of them happens to get on the floor and a dog swallows them they can get really really really sick or even die and Smith got super quiet and by the look on his face I knew that something was wrong and he goes wait so like you could actually die and we're like and Wes was like yeah like it it's it can be really harmful to them you can die and he goes am I gonna die so we knew that he somehow had swallowed some of these beads at some point in the day um and so we took him to DMC Children's in Troy to get an x-ray and get him checked out and everything and you guys these if if your kids have these magnet beads and this is the reason I am telling you this story throw them away truly immediately yeah throw them away because Smith seven years old he knows better than to swallow something but what he was doing was pretending he had braces and he was getting them to stick together in a line in his mouth and he went to take a deep breath and he said it happened so fast but he accidentally swallowed them that's What was that? That's how it happened. And so I we literally were in the hospital from Friday evening. They transferred us to DMC Children's in Detroit like around one in the morning on Saturday. And that's where we spent our weekend doing x-rays and tracking these beads because they can be so, so incredibly harmful to the intestines or the stomach tissue. They can make perforations in your bowels. Like it's a really serious thing. You could swallow pretty much anything and they would send you home and say just poop them out but when it's magnets it's just a it's a totally different story and a very scary story so we spent our weekends um with you know talking to surgeons and gi doctors and it was it was man oh man so scary yeah so and and by

the way and listen i i'm sure there's some parents that are listening going i've been there done that And if you have and you want to share 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548, even what your kids might have swallowed or why did you have to go to the ER. But it's a scary thing to have happen, and I didn't know how scary it was. And I was having a conversation with Chelsea about it. And I said, oh my God, say a prayer for Smith because he's doing this thing. And she told me a story about somebody that swallowed a little battery. I guess that's a big deal now.

That's also a bad thing. Yeah, magnets batteries are no bueno.

And there was a person that we had known through a friend where the kid died from one of those things. Yeah. And it's scary. Yeah.

You gotta be- Don't melt through your esophagus. Yeah.

Yeah. Damn. Like, don't, like, seriously, you know, your kids aren't going to listen to you, but you got to make sure, just get, like Shannon said, throw this crap out.

Just throw it out. Yeah.

But kids will put everything in their mouths, you know? I mean, hell, we put everything in our mouths, right? I don't. Not every day.

I mean, this poor, and Smith was such a trooper. I have them.

You got the magnets?

I have the, well, these are not the, they're still in his body. Oh, yeah, not the. But this is why, I had to bring him to the hospital because I wanted to show the doctors what what they were but this is the toy um and so he swallowed two of these thank god when he swallowed them they were intact that kind of was our saving grace that they they have stayed together wow the entire time that they've been passing through his body so it was like x-ray after x-ray which freaked me out because that's a lot of radiation and also i've never talked about poop so much of my entire life where are they currently at in his body so they are i'll have to show you the x-ray they are like way down here okay so you're scared the whole time that they're

going to separate and then one's going to end up in one section of the intestine and one's going to move the other one and then they're going to pinch together yep hey uh kelly hi it's mojo in

the morning hi hey shannon talking about having to be in the emergency room all weekend this

happened with your son or daughter uh yeah he was seven and he ate the inside of a clothespin like the metal piece wow yeah we were there for a really long time middle of covid what did they have to do uh we had to wait and get a lot of x-rays like shannon was saying like x-ray after x-ray to watch it kind of go down yeah and he had to pass it but because it was metal and the two prongs were touching they were worried it was gonna open yeah and like cut his insides

essentially yeah it's scary so scary thank god man rachel what's up it's mojo in the morning

hi hi rachel hi how are you good um no i just wanted to comment like shaman said anything magnetic you really don't want around my daughter was two and i had this really cute aerial puzzle um where you put aerial clothes on and they would have like a magnetic backing to put it together um and she ended up pulling a shoe that i found out because i was putting it away and matches the shoes weren't matching and i'm like where's this shoe and she's like oh i followed it um but we had to go to the er and they took an x-ray and we had to wait till it came out and thankfully it wasn't a lot like shannon fun it was just a little magnetic piece

on the back of a shoe jeez yeah so they even told us one magnet would have been fine they would have sent us home and he would have passed it but the fact that it was two and they could come together Yeah. And that's what made it incredible. Yeah.

Man, scary. This is scary stuff. Like you, if you have a son or a daughter and you have any of these things around. Throw them away. Please. Jillian, are you there?

This actually wasn't swallowing, but what happened?

So he had the magnetic balls and he was trying to make a nose ring. And he inhaled and got one on each side of his septum.

Oh, my God. Thank God they didn't go to his lungs.

Magneted together And we thought they came out And we didn't know until he got his x-ray for his braces

Oh my god He was okay everything is okay

Yeah we got him taken out How long was that

Like the time that he snorted him to You got the x-rays

Like three years Oh, my God. My God. Oh, my God.

That's craziness. I hear a lot about kids with coins. That happened to you, Rose?

Yeah, my son, he was one years old and swallowed a penny. He ended up in the hospital, same thing, X-rayed, making sure it was making his way through. They sent him home to wait for it to come out. And first, we had a toll going with all the family, what year will the penny be? And then after it was done, I made sure to clean it first. My aunt made a Christmas ornament and put the penny on it. And now it hangs on our Christmas tree that says, Ben pooped a penny.

Oh, my God. I mean, thank God that everybody's okay. But I've heard that I've heard kids that swallow coins that it actually could be fatal to them, too. That's so scary.

Yeah, it was scary.

It was scary, but thankfully everything turned out okay.

Wow. Elena, this was not the mouth, not the nose, but where was it that your son shoved a bean? The ear. Wow.

My son was at daycare and shoved a bean in his ear, and the daycare couldn't get it out, and they had to call me to come take him to the ER. Oh, my gosh.

Did they say that he could have lost his hearing from that?

Yes, because it was so far back in his ear canal. It was me and a nurse and a doctor having to hold him down to get it out.

I don't know what happened, but they just said it's in there.

First time long call. All right. Oh, y'all got to stop messing it up.

What is it? First time long time? Yes, there you go. Courtney's on the phone. Courtney, you got it. How you got guys doing? I was calling because, like, about three years ago, my daughter was two, and it was Halloween around this time. So you know how candy's always out and whatever like that. So we sitting on the couch. We was watching Home Alone or something, and I'm hearing her cry, and I look over, and she had an M&M in her nose. It's with the nuts. You know the M&M?

Oh, the peanut M&M's. The big ones.

Yeah. Yeah, so I'm trying to get it out before I took her to the hospital, and it was just dissolving in her nose. You can see blue stuff. It was a blue MM dissolving out of her nose. So I had to rush it to the hospital.

Oh, my God. That's one of those ones, too, where it's like, dude, what do they do? Do they let it sit in there for a little bit and just try to melt its way out, or do they got to get it out as fast as they possibly can?

Yeah, it took two doctors to get it out. They had some tweezers and pulled it out.

Oh, man. How about Austin? Austin, when you were a little kid, what did you swallow?

My buddy, we were at Scout... Oh, hello?

Go ahead, yeah.

Oh, can you hear me now? Yep. So, not me, but my buddy. We were at Scout Camp in North Carolina one time, and he was putting a flashlight in his mouth to show everybody that his mouth couldn't glow at night in the tent, and he swallowed the flashlight. He got stuck in his throat.

What?

So, he'd be sent out to have this thing surgically removed.

Oh, my gosh. Yeah, it was horrifying. That is crazy.

and we were probably 12 and you know 13 years old and he was he was from uh boca raton florida so his parents had to fly from florida to north carolina oh god that's scary get this thing

surgically removed out of his throat it was horrifying oh jesus this is craziness how many people have done this thing i can't believe uh that uh there's i mean we got a lot of people and again this is something that you do not want to mess with at all and man thank god smith is doing good and we love you buddy yeah that kid is a trooper finally came home yesterday but

i mean we still the the task is still at hand of getting these out of his body so

you swallowed when you were a kid when yeah when i was uh about four years old i swallowed a key chain that had like a, uh, a bullet on the end of it. And, um, you know, the doctors told my parents, Hey, you know, keep track of when I go to the bathroom and see if I, you know, pass it or anything. And I didn't. So they had to take me to the hospital and, uh, remember, strap me on a gurney and a doctor puts on a latex glove and a bunch of stuff. And next thing I know, I'm just like whoa what's happening back there and he pulls it out and just there it is shows it to me goes hey do you want it back i'm like no i'm cool i'm like i'm like you can take your finger out now

he's banned he's you know what just just because of that we're the doctor's band no no no we're shooting your we're shooting your ass again on a turkey put him in that damn turkey costume again He's got a bullet you can use. What's that? I was the greatest turkey ever in the history of the world. You know what? You may have to be the turkey again. Otherwise, you're banned from the show if you don't become the turkey again.

I'm about to give you guys that pleasure again.
