I know. It was actually so crazy. It was actually such a fun experience. I was doing some reflecting on it, and it made me gain a really big appreciation for music. I'm not going to lie.

very very first show he loves katie perry so um that's what that was one of his birthday presents was tickets to the show last night and we had such a good time you guys and i wish i would have had my phone out when she first came up through the middle of this stage i thought he was gonna have a heart attack he was like oh my god screaming his head off

It was so fun, but you take, you kind of like take for granted the whole concert experience. And he kept looking at me and he was like, mom, I can feel it through my whole body. Like it was just, it was really, really fun. He was so excited. His favorite song is Dark Horse. And that was the fourth song she played. So got that out of the way. I had already looked at the set list and told him we were not staying until the very end because mom needs to go to bed early.

Did you leave on the fifth song then?

No, there was like a middle portion. She calls it Choose Your Own Adventure, where the audience gets to choose a couple of acoustic songs. And I had looked ahead in the set list to go, okay. Yeah. That's always the worst. Acoustic songs. Really? Depending on who it is. Depending on who it is. But after that, there were a bunch of songs that I didn't know until the very end when she did Roar and Firework as the last two songs. And so I said, Smith, we'll listen to those ones in the car. Did she fly around? She did a ton of stunts. Yeah, and her stage was really cool because it was like an infinity symbol, so no matter where you were sitting, and LCA was packed, you had a really good view of where she was.

What was your first concert that you went to?

I think it was Nukas on the Black.

I think it was New Kids on the, I think I was in second grade and it was New Kids on the Block. So right around the same time.

My first, that's a huge one, by the way, to go to that because New Kids on the Block were like ridiculous at that time.

I had a New Kids on the Block birthday party that year and I'm pretty sure I went to the show.

They weren't playing like, at that time, they weren't playing the palace. They were playing like the Silver Domes and stuff. My first concert was REO Speedwagon and it was because I grew up in Chicago and my dad was their doctor. My dad was the doctor for REO Speedwagon and Styx, those two bands. And so my dad would go to the concerts from time to time because a lot of times, like Kevin Cronin, who was the lead singer of REO Speedwagon, lost his voice. And one time Dennis DeYoung had the same thing, so my dad had to give him a cortisone shot to help him out. But so that was kind of like the first concert. I remember my dad saying, would you like to come with me? And I went to it and it was like, oh, yeah, I get to go to the thing. What was your first concert?

My first concert was Summer Jam, downtown Detroit, Hart Plaza. It wasn't supposed to be my first concert because my cousin brought my friend and I down here to sell waters. And we quickly left the water station and went to the concert. The Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys and Bonecrusher, those were like the big X.

Wait, you were the kid that I see these kids all the time selling like Snickers bars on the side of the road and water. You did that? I was supposed to do that. I always wondered if that was a scam by some guy.

Sometimes I feel like it is, and sometimes they really do have a football team.

Actually, I'm not a big concert person. The first time I went to a concert was like three years ago with my friends, and I don't know who the artist was. What? Really?

She doesn't remember who she saw. Yeah, the only reason I know Earth, Wind, and Fire is because it was my mom's brother. Her brother passed away, but it was his favorite group.

Mine was Bon Jovi back at Joe Louis Arena, and I remember it distinctly because I would cry any time I would smell weed.

Bon Jovi. That's a great first concert to go to. That was like one of those concerts where you knew all the songs.

It was awesome. I loved it. Went with my cousin and my best friend, and I miss her. She's down in Florida now.
