All right, Mojo on the Morning Show. It's that time of year, the time of year where people for some reason feel like they need to just all of a sudden randomly go out and buy things for people and boo them. And Shannon, this is getting to be a lot of extra work for you, isn't it?

Well, and you guys know I love being extra. I'm all about it. But this is such a thing this year thanks to Pinterest and TikTok. Boo baskets. Have any of you in this studio heard of a boo basket? Oh, yeah. Think?

It used to be boo bags. Now they're baskets.

Yeah. So think of a very elaborate Easter basket, but with Halloween themed stuff. And I'm not talking about candy. Kev, I'm talking makeup, slippers, candles, snacks, jewelry, boo basket. Okay. So my stepdaughter asked me to make her one, which I love that she asked me. And so, of course, I'm going to do it for her. Well, then when I was at Target getting a few things for that, Lucy and Smith decided that they both have to have a boo basket because Samantha's getting one and that's not fair. And then they're like, well, we want to make one for Bren, who is their babysitter. And they wanted to make one for each of their teachers. And I'm like, OK, so now I'm making one, two, three, four, five, six, seven boo baskets.

It used to be just a bag of candy that you would put on people's front doorsteps. Now you're actually doing, like, the full-on Easter basket thing?

We'll do that, too, because that's booing, and our family gets very, very into booing. We wear disguises, and we make, like, really cool boo bags, and I love doing that. It's one of my favorite Halloween traditions, but this is, like, something new on top of trick-or-treating, trunk-or-treat, booing, Halloween party at school, and now boo basket.

It's out of control. It's truly out of control. When I saw couples doing this on TikTok a few weeks ago and realizing it's essentially just an Easter basket. It's now another thing. It's just too much. We've gone too far with the, not even gift giving out of kindness, but obligation. Like it's another thing on my to-do list is I've got to create more gifts for people. So it's funny because I'm not on TikTok. So

hearing you say that couples are doing it on TikTok, Wes even said, as I was starting to put these together, where's mine? I'm like, you go make your own. Then I want one actually. You You should be making me one because I'm making all these.

This was started by Target because they wanted to sell more crap.

I mean, all the ones. So Lucy now has discovered my Pinterest on my phone because she doesn't really have social media. So when she takes my phone, she either looks at pictures or my Pinterest. And she has pinned her own. Like, look at this, Megan. I'm showing Megan. She has pinned her own what she would like.

I'm like, you can't do that. I get what Mojo was saying. I actually think this was created by the candy companies because during COVID, they lost so much revenue from lack of trick-or-treating. This isn't candy.

Most of the Boo Baskets have maybe a snack in them. They're all a piece of candy. The rest is like, socks. Right. Candle.

Right. But don't you think like Reese's or Twix created this and said, we should all be doing this?

That's a money grab for sure.

It was, like Shannon said, maybe then, Megan, it was probably started by Amazon as their way to order a bunch of crap.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, like, it was definitely created by somebody trying to sell things.

Or it's the basket guys. Maybe they didn't sell enough baskets at Easter time because that's when COVID started.

So I recently went, I have two neighbors who are women, and they're amazing people. They do stuff for my kids and everything. So I decided to pay it forward, basically, and make them their own boo basket. and I put a nice fuzzy blanket in a basket and then I went to Bath & Body Works and luckily they were having a 60% off sale. And I put a candle, lotion, hand sanitizer, lip scrub, lip gloss. Like I got a bunch of stuff. A lot of cool stuff.

Everything you buy at the dollar store.

Yeah. By the way, it's all the stuff. It's all the stuff that the when you're checking out of Ulta, that's always at the end.

That's one of the things I did. But it got me in trouble because Amazon came the day before yesterday and delivered like a bunch of, you know, half the time they don't. They could throw it all in one box, but you get 22 little boxes. And Wes goes, what is all this stuff? I'm like, that is for this year's boo baskets.

I want, in mine, I would like to have Zins.

You want me to make you one, too? Do I need to put you on the list?

So my 16-year-old keeps sending me TikToks of blue baskets as hints to her getting a blue basket. Yep. And it's just, it's a lot. I don't, like, you know, I don't know if I really want to do it.

I'm telling you.

But every day, every day, she's sending me, like, five or six TikToks, and it's mothers giving their daughters through baskets. Yes. And I'm like, I'm getting the hint, but no. No.

And I was so excited. Like, it truly started because my stepdaughter asked. So, of course, I am going to do anything that she wants, and I think she knows this now. And so, you can't just do it for one. You got to do it. That's why Lucy and Smith were like, this is not fair.

But why did she ask you and not that? Because she goes, I will do it. Absolutely.

She then goes above and beyond.

I want one, too, then.

Yeah, exactly. Tiffany, Tiffany, what's going on? Hi.

I just need to go off on all the extras. I'm tired of all of them. I know. It's crazy. It's too expensive. You know what we all need to do?

Tiffany, we all need to convert and become Jehovah's Witness. Yes. And we don't have to do any of this stuff.

This is not 50 years ago. There are not stay-at-home moms anymore. I got to go to work 40 hours a week. I got to drive the kids to every practice. I've already got three of them, so I got a whole car full. I don't have time. Yeah. All of the extras all the time are too much.

Crazy. Yeah. By the way, there's going to be a new elf on the shelf. It's going to be like the witch and the bitch or something like that. The witch and the bitch.
