00:02:17 - 00:02:32 | Speaker 5:

Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. Thanks for being here with us today. It's Wednesday. I can't believe the last day of November. How nutty is that?

00:02:33 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 6:

Don't send me into a panic yet. I know. I feel like I have so much to do.

00:02:37 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 5:

Ready for December or not? Actually, I thought it was December already, to be honest with you. I don't know why it is that after Thanksgiving, I just go, oh, okay, it's December. So I was looking at a study that was done of when you decorate for Christmas, we'll say a lot about your personality and what your personality is. And the earlier you decorate, sometimes maybe is not the greatest when it comes to what your personality is. Here, let me read this real quick to you since we're starting off this morning. And I have not done much decorations. Chelsea has, but we haven't done, like, the big one yet. We haven't done, like, the big tree yet. But we have, like, you know, the chimney. The stockings are hung by the chimney with care in hopes that I don't have to put them away next year. Okay, so here's what a psychologist says. Dr. Carmen Hara, Hara, says when you hang up your decorations, says a lot about your personality, those who put their decorations up before November might struggle to enjoy living in the moment. You guys are psychos if you do it before November. People looking to have their Christmas trees up in early December, meanwhile, are more realistic in nature. So if you haven't done it until tomorrow, you're still good.

00:04:04 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 6:

It has to be realistic.

00:04:06 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 5:

However, those who leave it for just days before December the 25th to sort out the decorations are likely to be traditional but pessimistic. You're negative. You're a pessimist.

00:04:24 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 6:

Also, isn't that a lot of work to just have up for a couple of days and then you've got to take it down?

00:04:28 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. That's how I always think about this. Wait till your kids are older.

00:04:32 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 1:

Okay, so what does it say?

00:04:33 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 5:

Wait till they're older and you don't care anymore about it. That's what will happen to you. Go ahead. I'm sorry, Megan.

00:04:38 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 1:

What does it say when you set it up three days before Christmas, but then you leave it up until May?

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

Well, okay, let's go through. Hold on. Let me see if I get that one on this list there. Actually, it's funny. They don't have... Oh, here you go. Leaving your tree up for months after Christmas can portray you as a person who procrastinates or one who disassociates with the notion of time.

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 4:

and doesn't fully engage in the present. That's you, according to Doc Carman.

00:05:05 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 5:

It checks out.

00:05:06 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I was like, I don't like how accurate that is.

00:05:09 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 1:

We have a lot of listeners I feel like we talk to every year that leave them up year-round and just decorate them for the different holidays. That's crazy. Is that on there?

00:05:16 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Well, no, here you go. Let's see here. I guess that would be that one because it says leaving it up for a while. But ready for this? Yeah. How about this one? But taking your tree down immediately can signify that you're efficient and quick to get things done, but also can indicate that you are awkwardly not happy with yourself. So if you're somebody that goes, oh, got to go, moving on this whole thing, Christmas is over with, we're out of this thing, then I don't know, that's kind of scary. This doctor, by the way, I don't know who she is, but I don't like her.

00:05:51 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 1:

Is that who did the study, a doctor?

00:05:53 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 4:

It was a psychologist, yeah.

00:05:55 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 1:

I was going to say, why don't you feel like a foot doctor?

00:05:57 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 4:

Dr. Karen, I know. No, it's always a chiropractor.

00:06:01 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 1:

And you're like, okay.

00:06:03 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 4:

It's like, hello, doctor, how you doing? Oh, this guy's giving me, like, you know, studies on how to take care of my brain and stuff. What do you do for a living? I adjust people's backs. All right? Thank you. I don't know. I'll be honest with you. I'm like one of those people that I just do whatever my wife tells me to do. But I don't know what that says, Dr. Carmen.

00:06:25 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 5:

It says you'll live a long life. Happy life. Yeah.

00:06:28 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 4:

But it also, I'm one that I wouldn't put a tree up. Like if I were, you know, a single guy without kids, because I feel like I only do it for the kids. Like I really wouldn't do it for anybody else other than the kids.

00:06:44 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Well, I put my tree up two days ago, but it just has lights on it and that's it. I don't have anything else on it. And I'm like, but it just looks so pretty like this. No, no, no. I have to have the cake.

00:06:55 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 4:

Let's take this back for one second. What? Because I need Dr. Carmen to analyze this. What? Tell the listeners how many trees that you put up for Christmas.

00:07:03 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 1:

Well, so normally I put up two. Me, I put up two. This year I only have one. I haven't done the other one. I'm probably not going to do it. It's just too much work. But my children each have, let me think about this. Smith has two trees in his room. Lucy has three trees in her room. Now, they're like mini trees. So right now, one, two, three, four, five. I have six trees up in my house. Oh, my God.

00:07:28 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 5:

What the hell is wrong with you?

00:07:30 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 1:

Well, they each have like a colored tree. Like Lucy has a hot pink tree. Smith has a silver tree. And then Andrew bought them. Have you been to Kroger lately? Kroger has all these cute little mini trees out in front. So Andrew got them each one of those. Oh, my gosh. And then Lucy had like another one that she got on Amazon last year.

00:07:46 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 5:

Mini, they're like four-foot tabletop trees.

00:07:48 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 1:

No, they're little. They're like that. I was looking through them yesterday. That's not four feet. That's like two feet. Three feet. Yeah, they're teeny.

00:07:54 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 4:

All right, so.

00:07:55 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

But still, there's a lot of trees.

00:07:56 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

Megan, how many trees do you have up in your house right now?

00:07:58 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 3:

Right now, none.

00:08:00 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 4:

Really? Yeah. Zero point zero.

00:08:04 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 3:

My brother and I are currently arguing over it because I refuse to go in the basement to get the spider bag. The spider bag? A.K.A. where all of my ornaments and Christmas trees are in. So he has to bring it up and then I will set it up, but he has to clear it out. He has to be the spider inspector.

00:08:20 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 1:

I made Wes get mine at the top of my garage shelf this year. Remember last year I fell off the ladder and my neighbor had to come over and know me?

00:08:27 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 4:

Oh my God, that's right.

00:08:29 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 5:

But Megan is like the queen of Christmas. She couldn't look forward to this cold soon enough and now she makes no concessions to actually start the holiday in her own house.

00:08:40 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 3:

We're genuinely fighting over this every day, but he wins because there's spiders down there.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 4:

What's going on, Donnie?

00:08:49 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 2:

Hi, good morning. Happy hump day. Hey.

00:08:53 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 4:

I don't know what noise I'm supposed to make after that, but yeah. Hump day.

00:08:57 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. So I texted in. My husband and I have not decorated yet because the sooner we decorate, the more we have to fix the decorations because our cats are a-hole.

00:09:10 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 5:

Oh, the cats. Isn't that funny? Your pets are completely altering your holiday Cats, by the way

00:09:17 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 4:

Cats jump and knock the tree over And actually, there's a funny TikTok that I just saw yesterday Of a cat knocking a tree As a matter of fact, I think there's probably thousands of them Or millions of them online But you know what dogs do to trees? They pee on them My dogs actually Will lift a leg They're like, oh great, I don't have to go outside

00:09:38 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 2:

Your dog's pooping your shoes Yes, well that's true

00:09:42 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 4:

By the way, you're a great listener. I like that. Meow, meow, meow, meow. Meow, meow. Thanks, Donnie. Love you. Have a good day. Merry Christmas. What's up, Amanda?

00:09:54 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 2:

Good morning, my brother.

00:09:56 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:09:58 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

Nothing. I was trying to say that I put my tree...

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 5:

Yep, day before Christmas, and then take it down Christmas night.

00:10:03 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 2:

No. Oh, that is so much work for not enough time to enjoy.

00:10:09 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, well, it's hard. I don't have a lot of room, and I don't think I'm putting it up this year because my husband brought in all his plants from outside while I have no room. What did he bring in from outside?

00:10:18 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 3:

All his crap from outside. Plants. Plants? Plants. What plants?

00:10:23 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 5:

Wait, wait, wait. What kind of plants?

00:10:25 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 1:

I don't know.

00:10:26 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 5:

Oh, not those kind of plants.

00:10:27 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 1:

By the way, does anybody who grows in their house decorate what they grow? Like, do you ever string lights through your weed plants? That would be hysterically funny.

00:10:40 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, because now they have those little LED lights are so light, you could probably do it.

00:10:44 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 1:

That would be, honestly, the greatest to see somebody in a grow shop or a grow basement.

00:10:50 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 3:

Why even bother? Nobody's going to see your tree. Like, why every year do you just have it up for a day or two?

00:10:55 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

Because I really don't have the room in my living room for it

00:10:59 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 1:

Wow Well, you are You're better than I am I would just not even put one up I would just say screw it

00:11:07 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 5:

Well, like I said, I probably won't even this year Because all the plants from outside are in the house And my house looks like a dungle right now

00:11:13 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, have a great day Have a great Christmas, dude Thank you David

00:11:17 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

Good morning

00:11:20 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 1:

How you doing? What's going on?

00:11:22 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 4:

I'm doing good on my way home from work

00:11:24 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 1:

What's happening, buddy? Are you going home to decorate?

00:11:28 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 4:

No. My wife, she's already started that the Friday after Thanksgiving. Yeah. When she wanted to do it before, I'm not a big Christmas decoration person, so I'm her little helper that helps her out and everything. That's the appropriate day to do it. And I told her no decorating before Thanksgiving.

00:11:48 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:11:49 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 4:

She agreed with it, so.

00:11:52 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Don't decorate before Thanksgiving, although there are, like I just read that study, there are those people that do do that. Oh, yeah.

00:12:02 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 4:

Our next-door neighbor did it the week prior.

00:12:05 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 1:

Well, listen, I'm going to tell you this, that I think that you guys might have lost your day to decorate outside with good weather, because I think that yesterday might have been it for you, because the weather is going to drastically change over the next probably 24 hours or so. And then I think we might be done. I mean, we've been really blessed with good weather if you're doing outdoor decorating. I mean, it's been like unbelievable that we've had 50-degree temperatures. I think I saw one of the local weather people say we had more 50-degree days in this November than we've had in like the last decade or so. All right, Mojo in the morning show. God, we've got so much to do this morning. We do grant breaking and entering Christmas wishes from now until the holidays. So we have a Christmas wish coming up this morning. So Mike, Reese, and the gang are all going out to grant a Christmas wish. So you'll have that. We're going to do the normal fun stuff like Five Lies and phone scams stuff. And then we're also going to remember a year ago today was the horrible tragedy at Oxford High School, which is in our area here in the Detroit area. And obviously our listeners from both Toledo and Grand Rapids and across the world on the iHeartRadio app pulled together for the families of the four victims and all the victims of that horrible tragedy. So this morning we're going to talk to family. We're going to talk to friends. We're going to talk to those that are just still so sad and so angry over what happened. and uh we will remember those that lost their lives those four beautiful uh you know young men and women that that lost their life uh so that's all coming up this morning on the show i hate to you know as funny as i thought i gotta start talking i gotta mention that because i don't want anybody to think oh you why are you guys not talking about the thing but the mood then all of a sudden does change but we need to have that mood change because we can't forget because that's the That's the cynicalness that happens sometimes in our society is we get inundated nonstop through the media that there's this horrible tragedy taking place. And then all of a sudden we move on to whatever the next story is.

00:14:17 - 00:14:18 | Speaker 3:

Something else comes up and that's it.

00:14:18 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 2:
