00:03:51 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 3:

And at 7.40, you will find out all the details. I would like everybody to listen. 7.40 is when you will find out.

00:04:12 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 2:

We've been dissecting everything on my Instagram for this party. Oh, everybody has.

00:04:16 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 5:

It has been so funny.

00:04:18 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 2:

Wait, what are you guys talking about?

00:04:21 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 5:

People are like, she's wearing gloves That's because it was 29 degrees But

00:04:27 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 3:

You conveniently were hiding that hand I mean, you were

00:04:31 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 5:

Did you not see the last couple of photos Where I was not at all

00:04:35 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 3:

Okay, I'm just going to say this

00:04:37 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 5:

I'm going on record

00:04:40 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 3:

And I'm going to say this That I too would Hide that ring too It's a big old monster Look at that sucker, holy cow

00:04:49 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 5:

Is it a ring pop?

00:04:51 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 3:

um so last week uh you went to paris and you were with You're, and we will not refer to him by boyfriend because we could be referring wrong. Your travel partner. We'll call him.

00:05:07 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 2:

My male companion. His name is Wes.

00:05:10 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 3:

Him, Wes, yes.

00:05:10 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 2:

Your male companion. I went to a doctor's appointment the other day, and that's what they called him, my male companion. Stop it. So it's living. It's living on.

00:05:19 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 3:

So it was definitely the talk of the town, and listener Donnie was one of the biggest ones. She was like, so what's the story? What's going on? She'd been, you know, going through all your social media to figure stuff out. And then Wes was also doing some posting, too, which, by the way, I made the mistake. I saw hands on what looked like, you know, beautiful hands on a glass, a champagne glass or, you know, some drink glass. And I thought to myself, oh, my God, look at this. We're seeing Shannon's hands. But they were Wes's hands. I didn't realize that.

00:05:53 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 2:

He has very well-managed hands. He does have nice hands.

00:05:56 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 3:

Honestly, he should be happy with his hands. You must have to keep your hands up.

00:06:02 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 2:

You know this. I have old lady hands. The most wrinkly, like, age spot, gross hands.

00:06:07 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 3:

Got liver spots?

00:06:08 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 2:

I have granny hands. Yes, I do. I really do, and I have for a long time.

00:06:12 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 3:

I used to always love my grandma had liver spot hands. And I would ask her what that was, and she's like, it's like tree rings, like rings on a tree. That's how you can tell how old you are. You just count them. All right. Well, 740 is when you will find that details out. Although we should ask you how your trip was. First off, I was like living through your pictures because when you go somewhere like Paris, it's beautiful like that.

00:06:41 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:06:42 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 3:

The pictures were unbelievable.

00:06:43 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. I said this last week. I think it has been my dream for a really long time, for years and years, to spend my 40th birthday in Paris. So it was from the time we boarded that plane, it was a dream come true. I mean, I just I loved every single minute of that trip. And I'm I am so grateful I got to do it. It is the most beautiful city. Tried to speak a little bit of French that I knew from like high school. They knew right away I was an American and spoke English back to me. So that was a little disappointing. But, you know, whatever. Drank a lot of champagne, had a lot of croissants. Emily in Paris. You didn't even need it. Exactly. But it was so funny because there were a few things that right off the bat were kind of comical. I don't know if I've shared this before, but Wes had a nose job this past year. He broke his nose four times and actually had to have his nose, a new nose, reconstructed out of his rib. So when we got off the flight at Charles Tagall Airport in Paris, you have to obviously go through customs as you do when you're entering any country. And the way they do it there, as they do now here at DTW, is you just put your – it's all automated. You really don't have to talk to anybody. You put your passport on this little machine. You walk into this little, like, space that they close these doors on you. It scans your face, and then you get a green light, and you can go, right? Well, it didn't recognize Wes because his nose is different. So we got pulled aside, and we had to go talk to an actual customs agent. And then on the way home, when we came home yesterday, it was funny because all his kids wanted so badly for him to bring back was ham and cheese sandwiches. Jambon fromage is what it is. So he bought some at the airport in Paris thinking, I'm buying it at the airport. It's cool. I can bring it back to Detroit with me. Well, the customs agent in Detroit, who was really sweet, stopped him and said, I'm keeping your sandwiches. You actually can't. There's something weird about pork. Yeah, yes. Bringing pork and cheese or something back. And so I said to him, either this guy was hungry.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 3:

Vegetables, fruits, and I think meat you can't bring back.

00:08:48 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, and Wes was like, but I bought it at the airport. But yeah, nonetheless, the customs agent got two sandwiches for himself yesterday. Do you want to know what my kids asked me to bring back? I said, what do you guys want me to bring back as a souvenir from Paris for you? A loaf of bread. So I woke my butt up yesterday In the middle of the night Before we went to the airport Walked down the street To the little patisserie And bought two loaves of bread And packed them in my suitcase for them And they were so excited When they got home yesterday

00:09:16 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 3:

Were the drug sniffing dogs In the airport really excited Like ooh french bread

00:09:20 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 1:

Smell, smell, smell I really wanted the baguette From Emily in Paris That they've been promoting That apparently is a real sandwich That they're promoting In France right now

00:09:28 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

So I don't know about that Because one night We actually went to McDonald's For dinner I was just not feeling We had all these like great reservations and stuff But there was one night We had been out all day And we walked miles and miles and miles And I was so tired And like the jet lag finally caught up to me And I looked at him and I'm like I hope you're not going to be mad at me I do not feel like getting all dressed up And coming back out for dinner Can we just go to McDonald's And they didn't have it there But you can get macaroons at McDonald's In Paris which I thought was very cool That is amazing

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, and beer. Do they have the McRib?

00:10:02 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 3:

I did not see the McRib on the menu.

00:10:04 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 6:

I just can't see the people in Paris being McRibbers, you know? I don't see them pulling out that, but wow. So what did you think of the food and all the rest of that stuff? Was it good? Because I would think Paris, the food has got to be like amazing.

00:10:26 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 3:

It was incredible. Yeah. That's all we did was eat. I made this map before we left on my phone, like a Google map, and I pinned all of these different places that I wanted to see, you know, or go to, and Wes said to me on the plane, okay, let me see your map, you know, so we can kind of come up with a plan day to day, and he goes, Shan, it's all bars and restaurants and shopping, and I'm like, Sounds perfect. Duh. Yeah. By the way. He's like, do you want to do any sightseeing at all? And I said, not really.

00:10:57 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 6:

Did you go to the bridge that has a bunch of love locks or something like that on it?

00:11:02 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 3:

We didn't. We did do a lock, though, but we did it in kind of like a really different, off-the-beaten-path, quiet neighborhood area. Did you do the... Which was cool. I didn't even know he brought a lock with him, but he had brought one.

00:11:14 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 6:

Did you do the tunnel that Princess Diana tragically died in? We did. Yeah, isn't that crazy?

00:11:19 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we drove through that the first night to dinner, and they have her picture painted, a beautiful photo of her. They were painted on the actual pillar where the car crashed. Oh, wow. Oh, that was hard to see.

00:11:33 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 6:

It's wild. Like Spike and his girlfriend, Meg, just recently came back from Los Angeles. It's like when you go and visit these attractions and stuff like that, I think my biggest surprise of anywhere I've ever gone and visited an attraction is how much smaller it seems in real life. Like that tunnel, for some reason, seemed smaller to me. It's like very short. Yeah. Megan, what's happening? Do not ask about whether or not Shannon is engaged because you will not find out until 7.40 this morning.

00:12:03 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 2:

Oh, don't worry. I'm going to be listening. I'm going to break the rules at work and listen with my Bluetooth.

00:12:07 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 5:

I love it.

00:12:08 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 2:

But I was calling because TSA took hot sauce from me.

00:12:13 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no.

00:12:14 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 2:

Really? It was like four ounces. I thought it would be okay, and I tried hiding it in my bag. But the little scanner found it, and the guy was like, oh, no, you can't take this. I need to take this.

00:12:25 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 5:

Oh, he wanted that for his sandwich. He wanted it. Yeah, that's such a small amount.

00:12:31 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 2:

I'm so mad.

00:12:32 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 6:

I wonder if that happens. I would love to get, like, a TSA worker, and we can voice disguise them, to call us up and tell us, have you ever just taken something because you...

00:12:41 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 3:

You were hungry.

00:12:42 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, you wanted it.

00:12:43 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 2:

Absolutely.

00:12:44 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 6:

You're like, this is just too good. But the...

00:12:47 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 2:

I love you.

00:12:48 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 6:

Yes?

00:12:48 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 2:

I just couldn't say I love you guys Love you

00:12:51 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 6:

And you'll be listening at 7.40 Against the rules at work

00:12:56 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 2:

I'm going to hide in the break room with my bluetooth and listen

00:12:58 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 6:

I love it Thank you so much I actually liked this song from the Chainsmokers It's a remix version Did Megan leave you any nasty notes like she always does when she's filling in for you right there? No, she left me the

00:13:28 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 3:

sweetest note. Did she? Yeah, so happy you're back. Love you. I left her a note, too. She's trying to be nice.

00:13:34 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. She's turning over a new leaf in 2023. I don't like it.

00:13:38 - 00:13:41 | Speaker 4:
