This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:00:52 - 00:01:34 | Speaker 7:

My name is Natarika Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and stuff are really there for them so when they don't know that i'm their resource that explain

00:01:34 - 00:01:46 | Speaker 1:

and show them that they're here to help us ready to make your own bishop statement visit bishop.edu today and start building your tomorrow at bishop state community college it's mojo in the morning

we're commercial free now for over an hour so no commercials for more than an hour on your drive to wherever you're going, dropping the kids off or you just going into work. You know what? This is a good topic to do right now because there's a lot of ladies listening who maybe have done this to their guys, but Shannon is the embarrassing spouse. What did you do to embarrass your husband?

00:02:11 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 2:

Just exist, really, I think, at this point. But no, yesterday, Wes FaceTimed me from the car that he's traveling right now. He's out of the country. And so, um, he was with four or five other guys in a vehicle and, um, he FaceTimed me and I was so excited because I didn't expect to be able to talk to him, let alone actually see him. So actually it happened at the end of the show. Megan, you were, you were in the studio. Zach, you were in the studio. Yes. I started, I answered the FaceTime and I started squealing and I'm like, oh my God, you are so cute. I miss you so much. You look so cute. Like I couldn't stop and I could tell that he was like, yeah, like moved the FaceTime like from side to side. And I was like, oh, there are other dudes around you and I'm behaving like I would if there was nobody else around him. And so he was like, oh, yeah, thanks. I love you, too. It was funny to me because he called you, which means I have some time. And then you did that. And all of a sudden he was like, so I got to go. Yeah, he did. He was like, OK, we're just saying hi. I'm going to go.

00:03:18 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 3:

You know what's funny? The guys that I'm friends with, that I'll golf with, talk like really differently around their wives. Like their wives will call and these guys are like all goofy and fun and stuff and their wife will call and they'll go, hey, how you doing? Yeah, what's going on? And their wives are like, hey, hon, how are you? What's going on? And they're like, yeah, okay, all right. And I think that in Wes's case, in these guys case, they're doing it because they're they're thinking that these other guys don't talk to their girls or have their girls talk to them like that, which is such a shame. Right.

00:03:53 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 2:

Like, you know, it's like you get embarrassed and everybody's in the same boat.

00:03:57 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:03:58 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 2:

You know, like you're you're all a little nicer and mushier at home behind closed doors. And we all know that. But it's like this weird you're embarrassed when it happens. I don't know. In public type of thing.

00:04:09 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 3:

It is kind of funny, though. It's like, as guys, if we just embraced it and we're like, oh, Snuggle Bunny or whatever the heck you know.

00:04:15 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 2:

Snuggle Bunny.

00:04:17 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 3:

Shuggy Boogie or I don't know.

00:04:19 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 2:

I did not say Shuggy Boogie or Snuggle Bunny. Thank God. Yeah.

00:04:24 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 3:

Whatever. You like start calling out like names or something.

00:04:26 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I did say Lovey because I call him Lovey.

00:04:29 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 3:

You call him Lovey?

00:04:30 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 2:

Is he a sweet ass? You know this.

00:04:32 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 3:

Lovey. All right.

00:04:33 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 2:

And every time you X a price, Lovey. I'm like, yeah, that's the name that we've had for like four years.

00:04:38 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 3:

I know that's just the same. You guys have been together for four years?

00:04:41 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 2:

Well, 2021, yes.

00:04:43 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 3:

Wow. Are you kidding me? It's been that long. That's wild. That's lovey. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Are there other women that sense that their guys get embarrassed whenever? they'll call them and you guys will talk to each other or are there any guys that are willing to admit the fact that they kind of like change their tone when they talk to their girls you know oh

00:05:11 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 8:

yeah no i'm sorry i'm doing that to you a lot today um i hate when guys are around their friends

00:05:17 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 6:

and they won't say i love you back do you ever have a guy do that no but if that were the case i would call right back because i do that to anybody if my sister doesn't say it if my mom

00:05:27 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 8:

doesn't say it i call right back i did it a guy that would say you too and i'm like your your buddies who you're with right now have seen us doing inappropriate things drunk at a bar at two in the morning you can say i love you too like they know they're discounting you when they do

00:05:43 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 3:

that when they when they won't say uh love you back or won't you know talk to you the way that they normally would talk to you you know um 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 the text is 9550 zero uh i actually to be quite honest with you i don't think we're gonna get any calls on this because you want to know why no guy's going to admit that he talks to his girl differently because he's hoping that his girl doesn't realize it we all we all know and there are women that are listening right now they have to be the ones calling them out that's the there are women that are listening going yeah you're right i call my husband when he's at work all the time and he's in front of his other friends and he kind of has a different tone with me than he would have with me if he knows it's just me on the phone or you know there's no other people

00:06:31 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 4:

listening to this conversation i think in my situation i've never altered the way that i've spoken to my significant other when i'm on the phone but if i'm out with the homies i'm trying to rush you off the phone so i can get back to doing what i'm doing and maybe that rushing changes how you're receiving our communication and our love or maybe you don't realize that the

00:06:51 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 6:

rushing also comes off very differently on the other end that's what i'm saying you know yeah Oh, yeah, yeah.

00:06:56 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Doug, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning, Doug. How you doing, man?

00:07:00 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 4:

Good morning.

00:07:02 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 3:

I'm trying to talk to him more cool because I'm afraid who's listening. Hey, what's up, bro? How the ball's hanging this morning.

00:07:10 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 9:

What? I was just thinking, you know, the reason that we got to change it up on the phone is because we can't be having fun and letting our wives know that we're having fun without them there.

00:07:19 - 00:07:20 | Unknown:

Oh, that's a whole new...

00:07:20 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 9:

If we're out there having a good time, they're not going to enjoy that. But if we're just like, oh, yeah, you know, it's whatever, you know, it's okay, blah, blah, blah, blah. Then they get off the phone and then they go back to our business. That's a whole word.

00:07:32 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, but as a woman, if you're dating somebody and she doesn't want you to be happy, don't date her. No, no, no.

00:07:41 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

It's not that she doesn't want you to be happy. It's just that when that happiness doesn't include her, there's something to it.

00:07:47 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 8:

So don't date her.

00:07:48 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 9:

That's all y'all know. If you can be happy, you just can't be as happy as you are when you're with her.

00:07:52 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 8:

That's not true at all. All right.

00:07:53 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 9:

Y'all love us.

00:07:54 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 7:

I literally push Wes to please go hang out with friends, please. That makes me so happy.

00:08:02 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 3:

Ashley, what's up? It's Mojo on the Morning Show, 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. What's going on, Ashley? Hi, how are you? Great. I'm good, Ashley. I'm good, Snuggle Bunny. What's going on?

00:08:17 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 5:

I feel like that's the one that you use, Mojo. You've said it a few times. It rolls off very easily. What's happening?

00:08:24 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 2:

I actually met you with a jingle ball mojo, snuggle buddy.

00:08:30 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 8:

He friendzoned him, or she friendzoned him, snuggle buddy to snuggle buddy.

00:08:36 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 3:

Ashley, what's your guy like when he talks to you? What does he do?

00:08:40 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 2:

So I've been married, actually, with him for 20 years, and when I call him, you know, I don't really bother him during the day. You know, he thinks it's an emergency, but I'm like, okay, love you, and he'll, you know, kind of just, okay, you know, he's at work and he doesn't say it back. Like, I think he gets all embarrassed in front of his friends.

00:08:56 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 3:

He won't say I love you back to you? That's crazy. What does he do?

00:09:00 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 2:

He does say, you know, here and there, but, you know, you can tell that he's like, uh-huh, yeah, like, you know, I don't know.

00:09:08 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 3:

That's funny.

00:09:09 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 6:

See, you call him right back. And you keep calling until he says it back.

00:09:14 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 2:

He does do it, you know, sometimes, but, you know, there are times when he's like, okay, yep, uh-huh, And they'll be like, hey, thanks for the call.

00:09:22 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 3:

It was really nice to meet you, Ashley. Heather, what's happening? Heather, what does your husband do when you guys talk to each other? Hi, Heather.

00:09:33 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 1:

Oh, hi. Yeah, so my husband works in a shop. He's a mechanic, but he will talk even louder and talk about the most inappropriate things around all of his guy friends at work. Oh, I love it. So he'll talk about favors at home or things like that.

00:09:51 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

Wow, that's great. And you know what? Every single one of those guys thinks you're the biggest freak in the world and they love you for it.

00:10:00 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 2:

Might be why they look weird when I come in the shower.

00:10:05 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 5:

Hold on. Misfit Victor, what's going on? Good morning. You got something to add to this?

00:10:10 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 8:

Yes. Hey, Shannon, real quick. With West being in Nepal, I spoke to somebody that went over there. As long as they know he's Canadian, they won't do anything like to kidnap him and hold him for ransom. Oh, good. Oh, that makes me happy. The Canadian exchange rate is so bad. Thank you. He's safe.

00:10:28 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 5:

Thank you. Is that what you're calling for? Come on. She's already freaked out enough.

00:10:33 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 8:

No, I had a friend of mine named Sam Wheat, and he was married to this girl, Molly. And every time Molly would say, I love you, all he would say is, ditto. And then one day, he was murdered by this guy named... Dude, get off the phone. Get off the phone. Yeah, and Otome Brown, Otome Brown, who was a psychic, went up to Molly and was like, I have a message from Sam. And he was like, I love you. It's from the movie Ghost. And Molly was like, hey, Sam would never say that. You are so dumb. Lydia, screen his calls from now on. Willie Lopez killed him. Yeah, it was crazy. It was crazy. I'm so old, Victor. Victor. Victor. They used to make pottery together.

00:11:23 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 5:

Do you know what I'm going to do to you? I'm going to kidnap you.

00:11:27 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 8:

By the way, I met you at the Jingle Ball also.

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:12:39 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 1:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, people in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that it's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be that you don't want to be with this program i learned networking a lot we've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds dealing with autocad or need 3d modeling so really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful i don't come from a wealthy family so four years we're kind of not out the picture but less probable for me to go to bishop state With my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.

00:13:24 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 4:
